GLWF Action TV: 2/18/06...

Welcome fans to the GLWF and to another edition of Action TV.  Tonight we've got what hopes to be some exciting action lined up for you, so why not head down to the ring and get on with the show.

Josh Abercrombie vs. Austin Aries

This match between Abercrombie and Aries had some great give and take.  Abercrombie had a few struggling points in the match, but looked to be keeping up with Aries best he could.  After their last meeting two weeks ago things were just as fiery as ever and they looked to be letting it all out.  Aries hit a big brainbuster on Abercrombie and went for the pin, but Josh kicked at the last second.  Aries argued that it was three with the ref.  A groggy Abercrombie saw a great opportunity and used all his strength he had at that moment to hit a quick and hard Taliban Backpack and flop onto Aries for the three.

Josh Abercrombie pinned Austin Aries with the Taliban Backpack in 0:12:55.

Non-Title Match: Mistico (w/ Shocker) vs. Petey Williams

Petey Williams and Mistico are two small guys that can go 200mph in the ring and thats exactly how things started and ended here tonight.  Williams was getting the best of Mistico in their exchanges in the beginning of the match, so of course Shocker had to add his two cents, interfering against Williams.  After that point Mistico was able to grasp full control of the match and seemed he might get the upset.  And while this was a non-title match beating a champion in singles action even in a non-title match can open doors for you.  Those doors to the Television title weren't going to open tonight though as Petey made a comeback and hit a huge reverse neckbreaker out of nowhere in the middle of a fast paced exchange which was enough for the win here tonight over one half of the tag team champions.

[Non-Title Match]:
Petey Williams pinned Mistico after a reverse neckbreaker in 0:09:09.

We cut to backstage where we see Ken Kennedy beating the hell out of Alex Shelley.  He must've gotten the jump on him and now Mr. Kennedy is using everything thats not tied down to put the hurt on Shelley.  After Kennedy feels he's laid a sufficient beat down onto Shelley he leaves with a chuckle and a sick smile.

Eric Young (w/ Tank Toland) vs. Hector Garza (w/ Shocker)

Poor Eric Young was in singles action tonight and against a skilled opponent in Hector Garza.  We all know of Eric's fears and paranoia and in a singles match there really isn't much place for the poor lil bugger to hide.  He can't just tag out, though at least he had his cousin Tank at ringside for support and to help make sure that Shocker didn't get himself involved, especially after he interjected himself into Mistico's match earlier tonight.  Garza was in control.  Young had a few opportunities, but instead of trying to mount some offense, he'd try and get the hell out of dodge.  When things came down to the closing seconds Garza had a good streak of moves going and rolled Young up with a small package.  Unfortunately right before the ref counted three they rolled a little so it was now Garza's shoulders on the mat.  The ref counts the three!  Young steals away a win!  Garza is furious when he realizes what happened but Toland gets Young out of there before Garza and Shocker can do anything about it.

Eric Young pinned Hector Garza after a small package in 0:07:49.

Main Event: "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade vs. "The Once and Future King" Michael Shane (w/ Chris Masters)

The Michael Shane that we saw tonight was not the same Michael Shane that we've come to know over the past year.  He was a shell of his former self here tonight and it looked like Cade was going to pick up a big win over the former Heavyweight champion of the GLWF.  Cade managed to hit the Superkick but Masters pulled the referee out of the ring to break the three count.  The ref was obviously unhappy, but neglected to eject Masters from ringside and got back into the ring.  Cade ran into the ropes and Masters lowbridged him, tumbling Cade to the outside.  The ref finally ejected Masters from ringside and turned his attention to Michael Shane for a minute.  Before leaving his position at ringside Masters took a pair of brass knuckles out of his jeans and clocked Cade with them!  He threw Cade back into the ring and left ringside like he was told to, but with a giant smirk on his face.  Shane hit Cade with a big piledriver to put an exclamation point on the matter and got the win.

[Main Event]:
Michael Shane pinned H.B. Cade after a piledriver in 0:11:33.

What a night!  Next week hopes to be just as great.  We'll see Ron Killings face Delirious, Jimmy Jacobs will be in action against Rene Dupree, the man that put him on the shelf for all those months last year and in the main event Samoa Joe will defend his Great Lakes Heavyweight title against Nigel McGuinness.  Plus we'll hear from Alex Shelley, who was brutally ambushed by Mr. Kennedy this evening.  We hope to see you next week for another edition of GLWF Action TV!
