Nikita Koloff pinned Gene Ligon with the Russian Sickle in 0:02:20.
Rating: 3/4*

Nikita Koloff continued his path of destruction tonight against Gene Ligon and easily defeated him after using the dreaded Russian Sickle for the three count.

Interview:
[After the match, Nikita Koloff, along with Ivan Koloff, join David Crockett and Tony Schiavone to be interviewed.]

David Crockett: Another impressive display of power by "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff, Tony.

Tony Schiavone: That's right, David. We've been saying that a lot lately about The Russians. We're now being joined by The Russians, Ivan Koloff and Nikita Koloff. Ivan, your nephew looks to be a favorite as we go into qualifying matches for the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament.

Ivan Koloff: It doesn't surprise me, Tony Schiavone. Nikita is a Russian, but he is one of a kind, that is for sure. I have no doubt in my mind that my nephew Nikita is going to bring the NWA World Heavyweight Title to the Mother Country.

David Crockett: What about The Fantastics, Ivan? You have to believe they are going to answer you back for the sneak attack against them.

Ivan Koloff: Yes, if they want to be beaten down again. But only this time, Nikita and I will make sure to put them out of wrestling for good.

Nikita Koloff: Uncle Ivan, the Not-So-Fantastics wouldn't even try to gain revenge against us. Americans are cowards. They don't have the guts to fight for what they believe in. What I believe is that I am the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion. I welcome anyone in the NWA to stop me. Nobody is going to stop me!

The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson) defeated Rocky King and Pez Whatley when Anderson pinned King with the Gourdbuster in 0:07:16.
Rating: *

After narrowly escaping with the NWA World Tag Team Titles last week against The Rock 'N' Roll Express, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew wrestled in a non-title match against Rocky King and Pez Whatley. The challengers made the match interesting at times, but the outcome of this match was never in doubt as The Minnesota Wrecking Crew always thwarted any type of offense that Rocky King and Pez Whatley generated. Arn Anderson got the win for his team by hitting Rocky King with the Gourdbuster for the three count.

Interview:
[After The Minnesota Wrecking Crew's victory, Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson join Tony Schiavone by the interview area. Both are holding their NWA World Tag Team Championship belts.]

Tony Schiavone: The Minnesota Wrecking Crew with another impressive outing here on World Championship Wrestling. Gentlemen, just two weeks ago, you won those belts against The Rock 'N' Roll Express in the finals of a tournament to decide new champions. Last week you defended those belts in a rematch against The Rock 'N' Roll Express. However, it wasn't a clean match as The Midnight Express attacked Ricky Morton on the outside of the ring, which left Robert Gibson to wrestle the rest of the match against the both of you. Don't you think The Rock 'N' Roll Express deserve another shot at those titles you hold?

Ole Anderson: Tony Schiavone, shut your mouth! Don't you try to belittle the prestiege and pride of the greatest tag team dynasty in professional wrestling history, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew! We're the champions. We go out to that ring and we defend the belts against whoever the National Wrestling Alliance deems are worthy challengers. We can't control what outsiders do to our opponents. It's not our fault that there are teams that don't like The Rock 'N' Roll Express. We've beaten The Rock 'N' Roll Express once and we'll beat them again if the NWA puts them in our way!

Arn Anderson: Schiavone, like Ole said, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew didn't win these tag team titles via a lottery. We beat some of the best tag teams this sport has to offer. We are as good as we say we are. Now as far as I'm concerned, all these tag teams here in the NWA can compete to be the top contender to these belts all they want. The fact remains that it will be for nothing more than second best. I just don't see any tag team on the horizon that has what it takes to beat us for these titles.

Tony Schiavone: While I have you here, and since you two are the NWA World Tag Team Champions, how about giving your opinion on the tag team main event between Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. and Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard?

Ole Anderson: You want our opinion? Our opinion is that those four men don't deserve to be in the main event wrestling a tag team match. They aren't tag team specialists like The Minnesota Wrecking Crew! But if you're pressing us for an answer Tony Schiavone, I will say that Arn and I will be watching this match with much interest.

[Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson start to leave.]

Tony Schiavone: What do you mean by that?

Arn Anderson: None of your damn business. We will be watching this match, but the reason won't be given. We have our reasons, and if I were any of those four men tonight, I'd be mighty worried.

[The Minnesota Wrecking Crew leaves the interview area and Tony Schiavone pondering what they might have planned tonight.]

Dennis Condrey defeated Robert Gibson by countout in 0:10:28.
Rating: DUD
[Jim Cornette interfered against Robert Gibson.]

This match was made after last week when The Midnight Express cost The Rock 'N' Roll Express an opportunity at becoming the NWA World Tag Team Champions when they attacked Ricky Morton on the outside of the ring. Ricky Morton was not in the arena this week as he was still recovering from some minor injuries he sustained in the beatdown. The match turned into a brawl with neither man caring about winning the match but mostly about trying to hurt the other man. Eventually, the match spilled onto the outside of the ring. Both wrestlers ignored the referee's count until Dennis Condrey had enough sense to roll back into the ring to avoid getting counted out. Robert Gibson could not get back into the ring and was counted out by the referee.

After the match, Dennis Condrey went back to the outside of the ring and fought some more with Robert Gibson. As Dennis Condrey and Robert Gibson continued to fight, Bobby Eaton rushed in and began helping his tag team partner against Robert Gibson. To the surprise of everyone, Ricky Morton also ran down the aisle and helped his tag team partner even the odds. This wild brawl was getting out of control as chairs and other objects at ringside were starting to be thrown by both teams. NWA officials and other wrestlers had to come out to separate the two teams from each other.

Billy Jack Haynes made Joel Deaton submit to the Full Nelson in 0:05:38.
Rating: ** 1/4

Billy Jack Haynes gets another win against a Deaton. This time it was against Joel Deaton and the match was also ended via the Full Nelson for the submission victory just like last week against Vernon Deaton.

Interview:
[Billy Jack Haynes walks over to where Tony Schiavone and David Crockett are standing by the podium.]

Tony Schiavone: Last week, Billy Jack Haynes, you defeated Vernon Deaton with the Full Nelson. This week, you beat his brother Joel with the Full Nelson. As we approach the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament, you're definitely making a statement lately.

Billy Jack Haynes: That's right, Tony Schiavone. I'm making a statement that I am a force to be reckoned with here in the NWA. With the support of these great fans, I think I can be the one to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title.

[An angry Vernon Deaton, along with Joel Deaton who is still holding his neck from the Full Nelson that was applied to him, confront Billy Jack Haynes.]

Vernon Deaton: Let me tell ya somethin' boy! You ain't doin' nothin' but gettin' yer keyster kicked 'round the ring by The Deaton Boys! Ya ain't gonna' be winnin' no stinkin' title on our watch. 'Cause next week, Joel and I, we asked Mr. Jim Crockett for a Handicap Match against you! And guess what, boy! We were granted the match! And dangummit, we're gonna' take you out! Ya ain't gonna' be making no attempt at becoming the NWA World Champion!

Billy Jack Haynes: Oh is that right? We don't have to wait until next week, Deatons. Let's get in that ring now!

[As Billy Jack Haynes flexes his muscles at The Deatons, from behind Terry Funk hits him across the back with the branding iron. Terry Funk sets Billy Jack Haynes up for a piledriver and with the help of The Deatons, is able to execute the move!]

David Crockett: What in the world is the meaning of this, Terry Funk! Billy Jack Haynes isn't moving, Tony!

Terry Funk: Shutup David Crockett! Billy Jack Haynes, you got what was coming to you. Your friend Wahoo McDaniel is out injured. I just thought I would be nice enough to put you out so you could join your friend on the injured list. Although, I hope Billy Jack Haynes is ok because I want to see him get a whoopin' at the hands of my fellow Texan friends, The Deatons. In closing, David Crockett and Tony Schiavone, what people like Billy Jack Haynes need to realize is that intelligence will always overpower might and brawn. That is what will win the NWA World Heavyweight Title and that is why I will be your next champion when the tournament is through!

[The Deatons and Terry Funk leave while Billy Jack Haynes is being tended to by the medics.]

The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) defeated Bill Mulkey and Randy Mulkey when Hawk pinned B. Mulkey with the Flying Clothesline in 0:01:51.
Rating: DUD

The Mulkeys got absolutely no offense in at all against The Road Warriors. The Road Warriors used The Mulkey Brothers as an example to the rest of the tag teams in the NWA of just how powerful and destructive they are.

Interview:
[The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering join David Crockett and Tony Schiavone for an interview.]

David Crockett: The Road Warriors are simply awesome, Tony. I don't think I've seen such a dominant tag team in professional wrestling like The Road Warriors in quite some time.

Tony Schiavone: That they are, David. They proved it again tonight convincingly against The Mulkeys. Paul Ellering, your team looks like one of the teams to beat in the NWA.

Paul Ellering: You know what they say, Tony Schiavone? There's a phrase in professional wrestling and it goes something like this. You're only as good as your last match. Well, judging by the match The Road Warriors just won, they are the greatest tag team combination in professional wrestling today! Isn't that right, Animal?

Animal: A lot of tag teams in the NWA have been running scared since we made our debut. They can only run for so long before The Road Warriors catch up to them. There's a certain tag team we have in our sights and they have something that we want. Tell 'em Hawk.

Hawk: Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll! I can't say that I blame the tag teams of the NWA for being a little frightened by us. Just look at us, Tony Schiavone and David Crockett. Would you want to be caught in a dark alley with us staring you down? No, of course not. Just like Animal said, we have a team locked in right now. They would like you all to think they're the best just because they say they are. Next week, that team is going to find out that The Road Warriors ain't going nowhere because we snack on danger and dine on death! Ooooh what a rush!

Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. defeated Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard when Magnum TA pinned Flair with the Belly-to-Belly Suplex in 0:24:26.
Rating: ***

Much to everyone's surprise, Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard worked well together as a team. It provided for a very entertaining match. However, like all good things, a lot of times they don't last, and neither did the good will between Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard. Ric Flair was looking to make the tag out to Tully Blanchard, and instead of reaching out, Tully decided to simply jump off the ring apron and walk away. A stunned Ric Flair stares Tully Blanchard down and yells at him. But this distraction provided Magnum T.A. a perfect opportunity to execute the Belly-to-Belly Suplex when Ric Flair turned around which got the three count.

After the match, Tully Blanchard pointed and laughed at Ric Flair for losing the match. Meanwhile, on top of the ramp, the NWA World Tag Team Champions walked out to survey the situation. What is the meaning of this? We're out of time this week. See you next week for more great wrestling action on NWA World Championship Wrestling!

Interesting twist with the Flair/Blanchard partnership.

I really like the work your doing. With all the detail you put into your circuit, it really does feel like watching the actual show. I especially like the interview segments. Keep it up.
