WRESTLING RAGE X
Date: August 16, 2005
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Interview:
The first WRX World Champion, Kurt Angle, is officially awarded the championship from Paul Heyman. The owner of WRX talks about how proud he is to have the best wrestler of our generation as his world champion. It sets Wrestling Rage X apart from the competition. Paul Heyman also talks about what a valiant effort Rob Van Dam put into last week's match and how close he came to becoming the World Champion and being where Kurt Angle is right now. With that, Paul Heyman says that Rob Van Dam told him that he wanted to tell Kurt Angle something right here tonight. This brought out Rob Van Dam to a loud ovation from the WRX Arena fans. Rob Van Dam says last week, while disappointing because he didn't become the WRX World Champion, made him proud. This is what professional wrestling is supposed to be about. Their match last week proved that unfunny skits, long, drawn out interviews, and matches between untalented bodybuilders is not what Wrestling Rage X will be about. Rob Van Dam says that while he respects Kurt Angle and congratulates him for their match last week, he wants another shot at becoming the WRX World Champion in the near future.

Kurt Angle says that it was a privilege to be in the same ring with Rob Van Dam last week. They both earned their way into the match and no one can say the title was just handed to him either. It was a hard fought victory, but in the end, the better man won. Rob Van Dam counters that the luckier man won that night, as either one of them could've won that match. Kurt Angle shrugs his shoulders as if saying "Whatever you say."

Rob Van Dam says that before he leaves, he wants to show proper respect to the WRX World Champion, Kurt Angle. He does this by extending his hand to the new WRX World Champion Kurt Angle. The handshake is accepted by Kurt Angle and he raises Rob Van Dam's arm. What a show of sportsmanship by these two. This sincerity lasted only a few moments before Kurt Angle surprised Rob Van Dam with a short arm lariat. The crowd immediately booed Kurt Angle for turning his back on Rob Van Dam and the fans. Kurt Angle followed up the surprise lariat by hitting the Angle Slam. Kurt Angle left the ring and grabbed a chair and folded it before re-entering the ring. As Rob Van Dam staggered back up, he was met with a chairshot to the face. Kurt Angle then picked Rob Van Dam up and hit the Angle Slam onto the chair. The segment ended with Kurt Angle standing over Rob Van Dam, holding the WRX World Title in the air.

Sabu pinned Teddy Hart after a power bomb in 0:05:08.
Rating: ****

Teddy Hart has so much potential but unfortunately it hasn't been realized to this point in WRX because of his preference of taking high risks when they aren't necessary. This was a rematch from last week's match that ended in a double countout. Teddy Hart tried to hit a Frankensteiner from the top rope on Sabu but it was countered into a power bomb for the three count.

After the match, Teddy Hart slowly gets back to his feet but requests a microphone as well. Teddy Hart says that the reason he lost tonight to Sabu was not because Sabu was the better man. It was because of the WRX fans who kept irritating him throughout the match. Teddy reasons that if the fans have a problem with him, he'll take the problem to them. Teddy Hart then proceeded to go to one of the top turnbuckles and executed a moonsault into the crowd! Security immediately separates Teddy Hart from the section of the crowd he hit a moonsault on before a riot can ensue in the WRX Arena.

Interview:
Lacey is standing by with Syxx-Pac and Justin Credible. Lacey asks them what they were thinking when they interupted Tommy Dreamer and proceeded to attack him. Syxx-Pac says that Tommy Dreamer was going on and on about stories of ECW when no one cares about that "flash in a pan" promotion. While Tommy Dreamer was talking, Syxx-Pac and Justin Credible could've been wrestling. Justin Credible says he welcomes the return of The Sandman. Credible notes that he's defeated The Sandman on plenty of occassions. The Sandman might have his singapore cane, but so does Justin Credible. They're not afraid of either Tommy Dreamer or The Sandman. That's why Syxx-Pac asked K-Fed to make his match with Tommy Dreamer a No DQ match. He wants to beat Tommy Dreamer in his element. Before leaving the interview area, Syxx-Pac promises a surprise for Tommy Dreamer tonight. And the surprise won't be Syxx-Pac defeating Tommy Dreamer either.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules:
Los Guapos VIP (Alan Stone and Intocable) and Cibernetico beat Team AAA (La Parka and Octagon) and Charly Manson 2 falls to 0:
x Cibernetico beat Parka via the Ciberbomb in 0:17:26
Rating: *** 1/4

La Parka and Octagon selected Charly Manson to be their partner in this Trios match against Cibernetico and Los Guapos VIP. Charly Manson made for a good partner on paper, especially after his impressive three way dance victory against Jack Evans and Shannon Moore. However, they didn't seem to take into account that Charly Manson has traditionally sided with the rudos in Mexico. It would be no different here. Early in the match, it appeared Charly Manson had been injured when Los Guapos VIP hit him with a double dropkick that sent him to the outside of the ring. He wouldn't be a factor in the match until near the end. La Parka was setting Cibernetico up for a power bomb. However, from off the top rope was a suddenly healed Charly Manson with a flying clothesline! Los Guapos VIP immediately attacked Octagon once he realized what was happening. Cibernetico took advantage of a stunned La Parka by hitting the Ciberbomb for the three count.

After the match, Cibernetico and Charly Manson shook hands and laughed at La Parka and Octagon. Cibernetico got on the microphone and insulted La Parka and Octagon for being so foolish as to think Charly Manson would want to be associated with them. Charly Manson is a smart man and he realizes the bigger picture. As Cibernetico is The Main Man, as he claims, he is not done adding to the group he is assembling. Cibernetico says that the identity of the third luchador that will be aligned with him will be revealed when he feels like it.

Interview:
K-Fed, the commissioner of Wrestling Rage X, is going to announce his first signing to the promotion. To everyone's surprise, K-Fed actually came through as he signed none other than Johnny Nitro and Melina! K-Fed put over Johnny Nitro as the future of the wrestling business and that he will bring even more celebrity credibility to the show. Not only has Johnny Nitro been signed to WRX, along with Melina, but tonight he will also make his wrestling debut in a match against Al Snow!

Johnny Nitro pinned Al Snow with the Superkick in 0:07:42.
Rating: * 1/4

The Philadelphia fans were happy to see Al Snow and gave him a loud "We Want Head" chant. With Melina at ringside, however, you have to wonder who the chant was really directed towards. This was a solid match that saw Al Snow put up more of a challenge than I'm sure K-Fed and Johnny Nitro expected for his debut match. The end to this match came when Al Snow went for a clothesline after whipping Johnny Nitro off the ropes, but Johnny Nitro ducked the clothesline and met Al Snow with a Superkick to get the three count.

Interview:
Another promo is shown hyping the debut of CM Punk. This time the man himself talks about his straightedge lifestyle. He doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, and he doesn't smoke. The only addiction he has is to competition.

After the promo, we go back to the ring where a California independent wrestler known as the Human Tornado is in the ring. The WRX Arena doesn't take too kindly to his brand of dancing. Obviously irritated about the reaction, the Human Tornado gets on the microphone and says he will personally pimp slap every fan in the arena tonight if they don't shut up and appreciate his dancing. Suddenly, the lights in the arena go off. When the lights turn back on, Vampiro is standing in the ring and receives a loud reaction from the WRX Arena fans. The Human Tornado's confidence looks shaken as the match is about to begin.

Vampiro pinned Human Tornado with the Vampiro Spike in 0:03:24.
Rating: ***

Vampiro had his way with the Human Tornado throughout this match. The Human Tornado seemed to be absolutely frightened of Vampiro and wanted to exit the ring at every opportunity he could but Vampiro would not allow it. Vampiro won the match with the Vampiro Spike and continues to look impressive in the early stages of WRX.

Interview:
An enraged Paul Heyman, angry about what Teddy Hart did earlier when he dived into the crowd, announces that Teddy Hart is suspended for the next four weeks to teach him a lesson.

We then go elsewhere backstage where Justin Credible is shown laying unconscious on the concrete floor. Standing above him with a grin on his face and holding a singapore cane is none other than The Sandman! It looks like tonight's main event will be a fair, one-on-one match between Tommy Dreamer and Syxx-Pac.

No-DQ-Match:
Syxx-Pac pinned Tommy Dreamer after a flying cross body press in 0:06:44.
Rating: *** 1/2

This match stemmed from last week when Syxx-Pac and Justin Credible interupted Tommy Dreamer's message to the WRX Arena fans and insinuated that his wife Beulah is a "whore." It also saw The Sandman make his appearance to save Tommy Dreamer and Beulah from Syxx-Pac and Justin Credible. Incredibly, Syxx-Pac demanded that K-Fed make this a No DQ match because he "wanted to beat Tommy Dreamer in his element" as he said earlier. When this match began, Tommy Dreamer came out fighting and had control of this match, especially with the No DQ rules and the WRX Arena crowd firmly on his side.

The match would start to turn in Syxx-Pac's favor after he hit a low blow as a counter to a Dreamer DDT attempt. He then threw Tommy Dreamer over the top rope to the outside of the ring. As Tommy Dreamer got up, he was attacked by Slyk Wagner Brown! Slyk Wagner Brown finds a chair and slams it against his head. From there, Slyk Wagner Brown picks Tommy Dreamer up and hits what he calls the Haterbreaker, a double knee backbreaker. Tommy Dreamer was out cold as Slyk Wagner Brown rolled him back into the ring. Being that the match was being fought under No DQ rules, Slyk Wagner Brown's interference was perfectly acceptable. An arrogant Syxx-Pac put a foot on the chest of Tommy Dreamer for the three count.

I'm really enjoying this stuff.  It'll take me a few more cards to fully get into the swing of what you're doing, but I like what I see so far.  The Angle turn was nicely done, and sets up your feud for the main event for at least the next couple months quite nicely.

Not sure what to think about the Teddy Hart angle.  It's interesting, but not entirely sure how it would have actually been pulled off (would a new promotion send one of their competitors flying into the crowd in theory to attack them with the risk of a lawsuit out there?)  Still, it's TNM though, and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to see where this goes.

Like the stuff with Dreamer/Sandman/Pac/Credible, despite the people involved.  And you have a nice mix of talent in there that gives a little something for everyone.  Keep 'em coming.

That section of the crowd was full of local indy wrestlers posing as fans. :-)
MatteusPosted on 03/03/07 at 19:19:47

That's one buff section of crowd ya got there ;)

PS - Getting interested in this too... not a fan of some of the guys, but it has a different feel to it, so I like.

Keep it up :)
