[NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament - Qualifying Match]:
Nikita Koloff pinned Wahoo McDaniel with the Russian Sickle in 0:04:52.
Rating: **

After Nikita Koloff hit the Russian Sickle, he was able to prevail over the veteran Wahoo McDaniel. This victory by The Russian Nightmare propels him into the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament which will take place at the Clash of the Champions on May 26, 1985.

Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) and The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey) battled to a draw in 0:20:00.
Rating: ***

[Jim Cornette interfered against Ricky Morton.]

There were many near falls for both teams, especially near the 20 minute time limit where the action was fast and frenzied. After these two teams went to a time limit draw, it was plain and clear that nothing has been settled in this feud.

[NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament - Qualifying Match]:
Terry Funk made Thunderbolt Patterson submit to the Spinning Toe Hold in 0:13:42.
Rating: ** 1/4

After Terry Funk and Ron Bass took out his tag team partner, Manny Fernandez, last week, Thunderbolt Patterson was looking forward to this match against Terry Funk. Not only to get revenge for his tag team partner, but also because this was a qualifying match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament. A few weeks ago, Thunderbolt Patterson lost a match to Terry Funk after he passed out to the Spinning Toe Hold. Well, the result tonight was much the same except Thunderbolt Patterson submitted to the hold. Terry Funk is the second wrestler  to qualify for the chance to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

[NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament - Qualifying Match]:
Billy Jack Haynes defeated Ivan Koloff when Ivan Koloff passed out in the Full Nelson in 0:05:22.
Rating: ** 3/4

While his nephew Nikita qualified for the tournament earlier tonight, Uncle Ivan will not be joining for the chance to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Billy Jack Haynes, a very popular wrestler here in the NWA, earned the right to qualify for the tournament after making Ivan Koloff submit to the Full Nelson. After the match, Nikita Koloff entered the ring and hit a Russian Sickle on a surprised Billy Jack Haynes.

Interview:
Gary Hart makes a challenge on behalf of the Powers of Pain to face The Road Warriors to Paul Ellering, manager of The Road Warriors. Then, the Powers of Pain enter the ring and pounce on Paul Ellering and beat him down. The Road Warriors are nowhere to be found. The Powers of Pain then hit the Doomsday Device on Paul Ellering.

Ric Flair and Magnum T.A. battled to a draw in 1:00:00.
Rating: **** 1/4

This match was setup after what happened last week in the tag team match between Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. and the team of Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard. After Tully Blanchard decided to leave Ric Flair by himself in the match, Magnum T.A. took advantage of a stunned Ric Flair by hitting the Belly-to-Belly Suplex for the win. It was a good thing that series of events happened last week in that match because it lead to an even better match here tonight between the two.

This match didn't go 20 minutes. It didn't go 30 minutes. It didn't even go 45 minutes. This match went to a 60 minute time limit draw. These two men went at each other in this match, and the action was back and forth, with no man gaining a true advantage for very long. However, at the end, Ric Flair managed to lock in the Figure Four Leglock with about two minutes to go in the time limit. Much to everyone's amazement, Magnum T.A. held in there and did not submit or pass out. As the time limit draw ended the match, Magnum T.A. finally passed out, spent from the match. Ric Flair looked equally as spent and amazed that Magnum T.A. would not submit to the Figure Four Leglock. The fans gave both men a standing ovation for their efforts. Surprisingly, Ric Flair offered Magnum T.A. a handshake, and a reluctant Magnum T.A. accepted the handshake and once again the crowd were on their feet cheering the sign of sportsmanship.

The ONLY reason TA didn't get his ass kicked by Flair after the match is because they were in Charlotte.  Any other city and Magnum would be tasting JJ Dillon's shoe or some other foreign object (including Dusty's stomach blotch)

I think Flair deserves a rematch.
