Robert Gibson made Dennis Condrey submit to the Gibson Leglock in 0:11:22.
Rating: **
[Jim Cornette interfered against Robert Gibson.]

Robert Gibson was able to make Dennis Condrey submit to the Gibson Leglock to even the last two week's worth of singles matches between  The Midnight Express and The Rock 'N' Roll Express to 1-1. So again, nothing has been settled between these two rival tag teams.

Arn Anderson pinned Pez Whatley with the Gourdbuster in 0:07:29.
Rating: **

One half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Arn Anderson, showcased his technical skills that have contributed to the tag team reign of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew with partner and uncle Ole Anderson. Pez put up a good challenge, but it wasn't enough. Once Arn Anderson hit the Gourdbuster, it was all she wrote.

Interview:
[After Arn Anderson's match, Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson joins Tony Schiavone by the interview area. Both are holding their NWA World Tag Team Championship belts.]

Tony Schiavone: Arn Anderson with another impressive outing here on World Championship Wrestling. He's joined by tag team partner Ole Anderson here. Gentlemen, just two weeks ago, you won those belts against The Road Warriors in the finals of a tournament to decide new champions. Now, last week you defended those belts in a rematch against The Road Warriors. However, it wasn't a clean match as The Powers of Pain attacked Hawk on the outside of the ring, which caused Hawk to be counted out. Don't you think The Road Warriors deserve another shot at those titles you now hold?

Ole Anderson: Tony Schiavone, shut your mouth! Don't you try to belittle the prestiege and pride of the greatest tag team dynasty in professional wrestling history, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew! We're the champions. We go out to that ring and we defend the belts against whoever the National Wrestling Alliance deems are worthy challengers. We can't control what outsiders do to our opponents. It's not our fault that there are teams that don't like The Road Warriors. We've beaten The Road Warriors once and we'll beat them again if the NWA puts them in our way again!

Arn Anderson: Schiavone, like Ole said, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew didn't win these tag team titles via a lottery. We beat some of the best tag teams this sport has to offer. We are as good as we say we are. Now as far as I'm concerned, all these tag teams here in the NWA can compete to be the top contender to these belts all the want. The fact remains that it will for nothing more than second best. I just don't see any tag team on the horizon that has what it takes to beat us for these titles.

Tony Schiavone: While I have you here, and since you two are the NWA World Tag Team Champions, how about giving your opinion on the tag team main event between Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. and Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard?

Ole Anderson: You want our opinion? Our opinion is that those four men don't deserve to main event a tag team match. They aren't tag team specialists like The Minnesota Wrecking Crew is! But if you're pressing for an answer Schiavone, I will say that Arn and I will be watching this match with much interest.

[Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson start to leave.]

Tony Schiavone: What do you mean by that?

Arn Anderson: None of your damn business. We will be watching this match, but the reason won't be given. We have our reasons, and if I were any of those four men tonight, I'd be mighty worried.

[The Minnesota Wrecking Crew leaves the interview area and Tony Schiavone pondering what they might have planned tonight.]

The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and Warlord) defeated Sam Houston and Tim Horner when Barbarian pinned S. Houston after a flying headbutt in 0:10:53.
Rating: 3/4*
[Gary Hart interfered against Tim Horner.]
[Gary Hart interfered against Sam Houston.]

Sam Houston and Tim Horner were making their debut in this match against a team that also made their debut last week. The Powers of Pain wanted to send a message to The Road Warriors, a team that they targeted last week and ruined their shot of becoming the NWA World Tag Team Champions. However, the debuting team of Sam Houston and Tim Horner weren't going to lay down for anybody without a fight. The Powers of Pain had problems with getting a handle on their opponents, especially on the lightning quick and athletic Tim Horner, who was able to get out of a lot of danger from the powerful opponents with his speed alone. However, in the end, Tim Horner was unable to use his speed to get out of the Full Nelson applied by the Warlord. Good effort by Tim Horner and Sam Houston this week, as they showed they are a team to watch out for in the future.

The Russians (Ivan Koloff and Nikita Koloff) defeated Billy Jack Haynes and Wahoo McDaniel when Koloff pinned Haynes with the Russian Sickle in 0:08:23.
Rating: * 1/4

Two weeks ago, Billy Jack Haynes and Wahoo McDaniel surprised The Russians in the first round of the NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament. This loss angered The Russians tremendously and ever since, they've wanted a return match. Well they got it and they got retribution. However, it was not easy for The Russians to accomplish. This victory will put The Russians in contention for the titles at some point. Nikita Koloff, despite his Russian heritage, is a wrestler that is a force to be reckoned with here in the NWA.

Manny Fernandez defeated Terry Funk by disqualification in 0:09:14.
Rating: * 1/4

Terry Funk wasn't concerned with winning this match as much as he was concerned about trying to injure Manny Fernandez. Terry Funk repeatedly ignored the demands of referee Steven Gregory to let go of the chokehold but would not listen. This caused the disqualification in this match. Ron Bass entered the ring and joined Terry Funk in a 2 on 1 beatdown of Manny Fernandez. Thunderbolt Patterson is not at the arena this week, so he could not help his tag team partner. Ron Bass went to the outside of the ring and brought a steel chair back into the ring. Terry Funk then piledrived Manny Fernandez onto the chair! Terry Funk and Ron Bass laughed and left Manny Fernandez laying motionless and out cold on the mat. The medical staff immediately came down to the ring to attend to Manny Fernandez.

Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. defeated Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard when Magnum TA pinned R. Flair with the Belly-to-Belly Suplex in 0:22:44.
Rating: **** 1/2
[James J. Dillon interfered against Dusty Rhodes.]

Much to everyone's surprise, Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard worked well together as a team. It provided for a very entertaining match. However, like all good things, a lot of times they don't last, and neither did the good will between Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard. Ric Flair was looking to make the tag out to Tully Blanchard, and instead of reaching out, Tully decided to simply jump off the ring apron and walk away. A stunned Ric Flair stares Tully Blanchard down and yells at him. But this distraction provided Magnum T.A. a perfect opportunity to execute the Belly-to-Belly Suplex when Ric Flair turned around which got the three count.

After the match, Tully Blanchard pointed and laughed at Ric Flair for losing the match. Meanwhile, on top of the ramp, the NWA World Tag Team Champions walked out to survey the situation. What is the meaning of this? We're out of time this week. See you next week for more great wrestling action on NWA World Championship Wrestling!

Good stuff!  Great main event.  Looking forward to see where the Flair, Blanchard, Anderson's angle is going.
