Match observations:

PW-Riot's first night of the No Frills, All Thrills Tournament was a hell of a night
for wrestling fans. 12 big first round matches with every single wrestler on the Pro
Wrestling Riot roster represented, as well as some debuting names such as Jack Evans,
Taiji Ishimori, Arik Cannon, and Alex Shelley.

Evans and Ruckus started the night off with easily the most high flying of the first
round matches. Evans makes a successful debut when his Corkscrew 630 put away Ruckus.

Roderick Strong and Eddie Kingston killed each other in their match tonight. Kingston
gave it his all but fell victim to the CX '03, which is something we haven't seen
Strong use in a while. Kingston had to be removed from the ring by ring attendents and
was taken to the hospital shortly afterwards. We're not sure exactly what's wrong, but
we know that his neck was injured in the match. This was billed as the match of the
night by most fans.

Generico was able to upset one half of the PW-Riot Tag Team Champions tonight. Romero
later said that if Generico wanted to step into the ring in a tag team match that
the Pitbulls would be glad to fuck him up.

Austin Aries and Colt Cabana went out next. Aries had some choice words for our fans,
words which Cabana took some offense to and felt a need to put a stop to. Cabana
attacked Aries before the bell and controlled a large portion of the match, but Aries
countered a hurricanrana attempt from Cabana into a sit-out powerbomb, which our
announcer incorrectly called a tiger driver, to pick up the come from behind win.

Mike Quackenbush has had his hand in training a lot of guys wrestling here in PW-Riot
and was taking on a student in this match with Arik Cannon. Quack knew the importance
of getting the match over quickly to save his energy and so he would have as much
time to rest before tomorrow night as possible. The student has not yet surpassed the
teacher and Quackenbush's focused offense made short work of Arik Cannon.

In what was probably the most anticipated match of the night Delirious squared off
against Necro Butcher. Necro tried his best to ignore the antics of Delirious, which
included but was not limited to, a wet willey, various noogie variations, hiding
under the ring, and replacing Necro's barbed wire bat with a foam swimming noodle
wrapped in a towel with barbed wire painted on it. In the end Necro just couldn't
overcome the bizzare one, and fell victim to the Cobra Stretch.

Alex Shelley also was successful in his debut match against Scott Lost. Shelley
just showed too much skill on the mat for Lost to keep up with. A Shell Shock ended
this one.

KENTA, who along with Low-Ki, is surely an odds on favorite with the fans to go all
the way, had Hallowicked in the first round. They put on a very good match with most
of the match being very even offense wise. KENTA took control at the end and hit a
Top-Rope Falcon Arrow, but couldn't keep Hallowicked down, after a Busiaku Knee Kick
followed by the Go 2 Sleep this match was more than over...

Low-Ki and Gran Akuma had an excellent match at the 2006 Ted Petty Invitational for
IWA Mid South, and tonight the fans got a rematch that was just as good. Once again
though, Low-Ki comes out on top.

Next was another high flying match, this time involving M-Dogg 20 and Taiji Ishimori.
Ishimori controlled the start but M-Dogg came back after the match spilled to the
outside. Ishimori regained control and hit the Superstar Elbow for the win.

Chris Bosh got robbed in the next match. He dominated the entire match, even after
Icarus' tag partner, Gran Akuma, got involved. But things just didn't go his way as
Icarus countered a simple punch with a backslide and scored a flash pin for the win.

Our main event saw the other half of the PW-Riot Tag Team Champions, Ricky Reyes,
show exactly why he's a tag team champion, as he got owned in singles competition
by Jigsaw. Romero and Reyes are both out, not a good showing for the only champions
thus far in PW-Riot. Reyes challenged Jigsaw and Generico to face them at an upcoming
show...but with both of them wrestling a possibility of 3 more matches tomorrow night
I don't think it's going to happen this weekend.

Carlzilla is back in the ring closing the show announcing the second round matches,
and dropping the bombshell that the finals would be an iron man match...he's going
to kill these poor wrestlers tomorrow night...

Good card, solid ratings overall but that's to be expected with the high workrate on the roster.  Sucks that Kingston got hurt.  I like almost all of your roster so don't have any problems with the winners, although it would've been nice to see Necro advance.  :)
CarlzillaPosted on 11/28/06 at 10:00:53

I'm kinda surprised Necro didn't advance...I'm running the initial tournaments unbooked so I can work story lines off of the events. Delirious was just having a good night I guess. I'm kind of partial to the foam swimming noodle with a towel wrapped around it with barbed wire painted on it...that right there is some high class weaponry.
americamamushiPosted on 11/28/06 at 10:45:13

Ew, always tough getting a neck injury.

Glad to see Shelley go through.  I heart him.

Definitely an upset for Generico.  If Generico is smart I think he'll stay away from the Pitbulls and count his blessings he got the win that he did.

haha, loved the comment about your announcer calling the wrong me.  Me thinks you need to fire him ;)

YES!  Finally foam swimming noodles in wrestling!

Haha... Scott Lost.  Can't say I didn't see it coming ;) heehee

Not a good night for the Pibulls.  On second though, maybe the Pitbulls had better be the ones to stay away.  Jigsaw and Generico could gain a major upset over the champs in tag action if they aren't careful

Yes!  Kill the talent for our amusement! ;) can't wait for the iron man match.
Snabbit888Posted on 11/28/06 at 10:48:16

Good stuff.  Not a lot specific for me to say yet since you're going unbooked.  Once you start booking, I'll get you some more detailed feedback.  I'm rooting for Delerious though.  That zany lizard...

It's not just your ordinary foam swimming noodle either...it's wrapped in a towel that has barbed wire painted on it...

Also any predictions on who might walk away with the belt? I already know because I have night two ready to post tomorrow, but anyone and everyone is welcome to guess as to who might win.

Quackenbush or Low-Ki is my prediction...guess I'll go with Low-Ki.

Darkhorse is Jigsaw.  :)
SporadicoPosted on 11/28/06 at 22:19:13

I say KENTA only because he is a beast. Either him or Low-Ki. Awesome stuff so far buddy.
rey619Posted on 11/29/06 at 13:07:19

I'll go for Aries.. for some reason. Don't think KENTA has the time to stay due to his NOAH tours (but then again, he doesn't know it's unbooked.. so..)
