GLWF Action TV: 1/14/06...

americamamushiPosted on 11/28/06 at 10:02:08

Hello wrestling fans and welcome once again to another exciting edition of Action TV!  We're coming to you from out home in Kalamazoo, Michigan to bring you three great matches including a triple threat for the Great Lakes tag team championship titles!  Not only that but our new commissioner Joel Gertner has informed Shocker that while he's not banning him from ringside tonight that he may not like the consequences if he decides to get physically involved in the Garza & Mistico's title match tonight.

Unexpectedly, Josh Abercrombie's music hits and he waltzes out, still showing some of the effects from his match with Moore last week, but with a big smile on his face.  He asks for a microphone and once he has one, soaks in the crowd reaction for a moment before addresses the fans.  He starts by saying that he is proud to have sent Shannon Moore packing from the GLWF.  It doesn't matter where he is or what he's doing right now because he bested Moore last week.  But he says he has to level with the crowd.  "Over the past several weeks Jim Cornette had hounded Shannon Moore day in a day out about the Raven scandal and everytime Shannon Moore would plead his innocence to Cornette.  The funny thing is... Shannon Moore was telling Cornette the truth.  He didn't hit Raven with that car.  I know for a fact he didn't... because it was me.  I did it."  The reaction Abercrombie is getting from the crowd as turned to mixed at best.  Abercrombie continues by saying that ever since that first time that Moore rubbed him the wrong way he's been waiting to take Moore out.  Josh says he's sick and tired of people in the business taking him as lightly as they do.  Not thinking he's capable of going that extra mile and make a name for himself at any cost.  "If you fans still want to stand behind me and cheer me, great.  If you have to despise and boo me, thats fine.  But this, I had to do for me.  No matter what the cost."

Mr. Kennedy vs. Icarus (Un-Signed)

Before Clara Michaels has a chance to announce Mr. Kennedy, he emerges from the curtain with a microphone of his own.  "Wait, wait, wait, hold up there.  What the hell is this?"  Kennedy gets in the ring and points to Icarus.  "I'm Mr. frickin' Kennedy damn it.  I deserve to beat the crap out of someone that matters not some little country bumpkin.  I'm gonna give you the chance of a lifetime junior.  You want yourself back up that aisle and take a countout and you don't have to worry about me handing you your ass."  Icarus doesn't look like he's going to back down and tells Mr. Kennedy just that.  He came to wrestle and he wants to wrestle.  "Look stringbean... don't fly too close to the sun.  Just take the countout and count your blessings that I'm in a giving mood tonight."  which Icarus replies with "I'm not going anywhere Kennedy."  Which was the wrong thing to call him.  "That's... MISTER Kennedy bitch cakies!" and he quickly starts his assault on Icarus smashing him over the head with the microphone.  The ref gets the match officially started and Kennedy continues beating on Icarus, who could never really recover enough to try and mount a real offense.  Kennedy controlled the match and brutalized Icarus, busting him open after sending between the turnbuckles and into the corner post.  Mr. Kennedy finally put an end to Icarus' suffering by putting him up top and taking him down with the Green Bay Plunge for the pinfall.

Mr. Kennedy pinned Icarus with the Green Bay Plunge in 0:05:06.

"The Showstopper" H.B. Cade vs. "The Universal Champion" Sonny Siaki

This was Sonny Siaki's first match "back" if you will.  For the past few months he's been a little out of it mentally, but ever since Santa Clause of all people gave him back his Universal title the lights have clicked back on.  Of course, him carrying around that ridiculous belt and calling himself the Universal champion could be cause for a completely different psych evaluation in itself, but baby steps people.  Baby steps.  Neither man has had a ton of luck lately.  And while Siaki was on tonight, seeming to have re-found his groove, Cade still seemed off.  Cade hung in there well, but did seem to be struggling at times to make things happen for him.  The two had met in singles action just about a month ago in a match that saw Siaki pick up the win and you could tell Cade really wanted to even the score, but wanting to do it and being able to get yourself into a position to do it are two completely different things.  Cade went for a superkick on a Siaki that wasn't nearly stunned enough and Sonny ducked it, causing Cade's leg to go over the top rope which caught him up for a moment.  Siaki quickly capitalized on this with hammering blows.  After untangling Cade's leg he dragged him to the center of the ring and hit the Spin Cycle for a three count.

Sonny Siaki pinned H.B. Cade after the Spin Cycle in 0:10:01.

Main Event for the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles: Team No Fear (Tank Toland & Eric Young) vs. "The Cat" Ernest Miller & "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree vs. Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza & Mistico) (c)

Coming into this match the duos of Team No Fear and Dupree & Miller were looking pretty good.  Ernest Miller won the first singles triple threat and Eric Young amazingly managed to sort of accidently get the win over one half of the tag team champions in the second singles triple threat match.  Not only did the current tag team champions not win in either match, but Mistico was pinned.  This couldn't bode well for them and Shocker seemed to know it.  Surprisingly Shocker seemed to have taken Joel Gertner's words to heart and didn't interfere physically in the match once, though you could tell he wanted to and badly each time either of his stablemates looked to be in a little trouble.  The match went into clusterfuck mode a couple different times, though the referee didn't throw the match out and each time eventually restored order.  It seemed like it was really a fight between Team No Fear and Miller & Dupree as to who was going to take the match.  It seemed that their not winning either of the singles triple threats was weighing on them and while they came out on top of some big exchanges, when it came down to who was going to take it, it just really didn't seem like it was going to be them walking home with gold at the end of the evening.  Tank Toland was having trouble getting Eric Young to actually get in the match and wrestle at times as Eric Young is still Eric Young and was pretty terrified and paranoid to get involved.  Toland was handled being somewhat on his own quite well, though at times it did seem like his arm was still bothering him slightly, he managed to keep his opponents from getting ahold of it and damaging it again.  As the match was coming to a close it had once again turned into a big brawl.  As the illegal men poured to the outside to leave Mistico and Toland in the ring alone Hector Garza grabbed Toland's bad arm and jumped over the top rope to the floor almost rippping Toland's arm off in the process.  Mistico quickly capitalized with La Mistica and Toland was forced to submit.

[Main Event]: Triangle Match:
Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza and Mistico) defeated Team No Fear (Tank Toland and Eric Young) and Ernest Miller and Rene Dupree when Mistico made Tank submit to the La Mistica in 0:18:10.

(Los Corazones Negros retained the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

LCN got their belts and got the hell out of there, celebrating and laughing at their opponents all the way to the back.

Well Los Corazones Negros has once again managed to hold onto the Great Lakes Tag Team titles despite not being favored by most coming into the match.  And did Josh Abercrombie ever drop a bombshell!  The case has been closed which means Abercrombie will get off scott free, but the question is will this prove to be a one way ticket to the top?  Make sure to join us next week when Chris Masters will be in action against Delirious, Austin Aries will try his luck against Ron Killings and in the main event we'll have a 4-corners match to determine the #1 contender for the GLWF Television title as we see Mr. Kennedy, Sonny Siaki, Roadkill and former TV champion Alex Shelley square off.  Not to mention we'll hear from the Great Lakes Heavyweight champion Samoa Joe!  We'll see you next week everybody!

Good card as usual. I'm glad to have the GCWverse back because I missed GLWF...

Poor Icarus...I really like Team FIST, and I hate Mr. Kennedy so I was really bummed about the squash.

I'm still cheering Abercrombie...even if he is a complete asshole for running over Raven.

When I read Team No Fear I was thinking the real Team No Fear, Takayama and Omori. Instead I get Tank Toland, and some other schmuck...I want my money back...seriously though, I'm pulling for the blackhearts...and they won...sweet deal.

Haha, sorry for pullin' the old bate'n'switch on you.  I should've known that you of all people would be the one to point that out. :)  It was the best me and Ryan came up with at the time for something that played with Eric Young's gimmick.
