A Video package is shown showcasing the champions and talent of TNA, then the Universal Wrestling logo breaks through the old TNA logo with the words. That was the past. The future starts now!

What a night for UW as Samoa Joe becomes the UW World Heavyweight Champion, defeating a hungry Monty Brown. Jeff Jarrett came to the ring before the action started to let everyone know he was not happy about what went down. Last week he was NWA champion and today regulated to compete for a title that should have been giving to him. He also made it clear that he was still and always will be the king of the mountain. When Jarrett failed to advance against Rhino he made it clear that if he was not going to be champion then he would make whoever was reign a living nightmare. After Samoa Joe won the title, Jarrett came in from behind and attacked the new champ. Monty Brown and Jarrett started to work Joe over when Kurt Angle came down to even the odds. Jarrett and Brown made quick exit from the ring jawing at Angle in the ring. Joe not sure what to make of Angle just stared him down as the show ended.

Next week UW crowns tag team champions, also the fall out from tonight's main event. Just what side is Kurt Angle on? Will get answers for this question and more next week on Explosion!

UW Explosion
01/9/06

The show starts with Video from last weeks Road to the Gold. We see Samoa Joe pinning Monty Brown and winning the UW World Heavyweight Title. Jeff Jarrett enters the ring from the opposite side and attacks Joe. Monty Brown has recovered and joins in the attack when Kurt Angle comes running from the back to even the odds. Jarrett and Brown badmouth Angle as they leave the ring area and we see Joe starring at Angle trying to figure him out as the scene fades to black.

Explosions all around the arena as were back live.  We soon hear the music of Jeff Jarrett who makes his way to the ring followed by the "Alpha Male" Monty Brown. The sold out crowd lets them know how they feel but they pay it no mind as Jarrett grabs a mic. He starts of letting the crowd know that this entire ownership change and title stripping is a shame and everyone knows that he should still be the champion. He then continues by saying that he promised that if he did not win the title back last week that he would make the current champions title reign a nightmare and welcomed Joe to his. Monty Brown grabbed the mic and started in on Joe on how if it wasn't for the fact that the referee in UW could count, the title would be right here where it should be. He then told Joe not to get use to the title because of the mandatory rematch clause he gets first crack at the champ. This brought the champ out a thunderous ovation from the crowd as Joe made his way down to the ring and slid in as Jarrett and Brown wasted no time attacking the champ. Joe took the fight to both men but after a while Jarrett and Brown started to get the upper hand. Just then Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring and pulls Jarrett off of Joe and starts hitting him with rights and lefts. It didn't take long for Joe and Angle to clear the ring. Angle and Joe stared at each other as the crowd went wild. Angle held his hand out but Joe still not sure of Angle just stared at him ands slid out the ring, grabbed his belt and headed back up the ramp leaving Angle in the ring by himself.

(Samoa Joe retained the Universal World Heavyweight Title.)
[Kurt Angle interfered against Monty Brown.]
[Jeff Jarrett interfered against Samoa Joe.]

Monty Brown came close a couple of times in fulfilling his word about ending Joe's reign Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown made it impossible for Joe to mount any real offence.
Jeff was in the in the ring about to hit Joe again with the title belt when Kurt Angle came down and laid out both Monty Brown and Jeff Jarrett. This gave Joe the window he needed and hit the Emerald Erosion on Brown as Angle revived the ref who counted to 3 giving Joe the win. This time Angle left Joe in the ring by himself as Angle made his way back up the ramp.
