Smackdown

Welcome to Green Bay, Wisconsin! The hometown of Mr. Kennedy plays host to Smackdown tonight, where we WILL see the debut of the controversial John Cena. The Mexicools and the Dojo square off again, and the Second City Saints will defend their titles against former WWE Tag Team Champions... well, we'll save that surprise for later. At the show's conclusion, we will witness the contract signing for the WWC World Title match. Chris Benoit is still in Japan, but we will have a video conferance. Hopefully, our champ and challenger has some interesting words for each other. We'll go right to the back, where we understand some commtion is taking place.

-We see Josh Matthews running backstage, and some sort of ruckus happening close to the exit. An ambulance is already on the scene, taking Bill Alfonso with them on a stretcher. Rob van Dam tries to get some word from his manager on who did this, but Alfonso is unconscious. Josh tries to get a comment from the enraged van Dam. RVD says he doesn't know who did this, but that they will pay. Something catches Rob's attention, and he sits down on one knee and picks up a shiny piece of metal. Josh Matthews says it looks like a chain link or something. RVD clenches his teeth and mutters: "Cena".

John Cena vs Simon Diamond

Two debutants opened up our show tonight. Diamond was quite over with the crowd, probably because everyone hated Cena's guts. Before the match, Cena told the fans to "stick it", and that Bill Alfonso got what he deserved for trying to sign him as a client. Cena didn't need anyone's help!

This wasn't any techincal masterpiece, as both men are most comfortable with the brawling style of wrestling. Diamond with a brief advantage early on when he planted Cena with a facebuster. Cena had just lost the WEW World Title, and didn't want an upset on his first night. As the ref reprimanded Diamond on his excessive use of closed fists, Cena unfastened a turnbuckle pad. Diamond then went for a splash in the corner, but Cena moved away, causing Diamond to crash and burn. Cena brought Diamond down with a sitout power bomb he calls "You Got Served" to win the match.

After the match, Rob van Dam slides into the ring. Cena sees him, and they exchange rights and left. RVD gets the best of Cena, who slides out of the ring, grabbing the chain in the process. RVD goes after him, but doesn't see the chain. Cena turns around and clocks Cena straight through the eyes. The lights goes out of RVD, and Cena does his "you can't see me routine" before he leaves ringside.

- The dreaded Cpt. Burchill and his first mate are out looking for virgin's blood. They spot Melina and CM Punk walking hand in hand towards their locker room. Burchill whips out his cutlass and stops the lovebirds from entering their room. He then asks if the lass still has her virginity intact. Punk looks seriously at Melina, then bursts out in laughter, Melina joining him. "I really tried being serious honey, but I just... I just couldn't," Punk says laughingly as they enter their locker room. Burchill turns to Spud. "I'll take that as a no, then."

The Mexicools vs the Dojo

The Mexicools have been besieged by the Dojo ever since they won the 2007 Tag Team World Cup. Even though Crazy and Psicosis have the experience edge, the Dojo clearly has the numbers advantage, because their third member is always on the outside, looking for distractions to aid his fellow Dojo members.

This match was all over the place from the get-go. These guys are so lightning quick that you'll miss something vital if you turn away for only one split second. The end came when Psicosis went high-risk, only for Dragon Kid to crotch him on the ropes. Kid went upstairs for a top-rope rana, but Psicosis countered into a top-rope power bomb. Naruki Doi barely made the save, but was subsequently tossed over the ropes by an irate Psicosis seconds after. Super Crazy danced across the ropes and dove out on both Doi and Horiguchi with a moonsault. Psicosis went upstairs again for the Psycho Guillotine Legdrop for the win, just as he did at SNME when they won the World Cup!

Mexicools have finally bested the Dojo again, but the fight isn't over as Doi and Horiguchi enter the ring and attack Psicosis from the back. Super Crazy tries to enter the ring, but is repelled by Dragon Kid. The 3 on 2 onslaught continues, until someone sprints down the aisle. It's Juventud! the Juice lays out all Dojo members with stiff rights, before picking Dragon Kid up and planting him with the Juvi Driver. the Mexicools is standing tall in the ring as the Dojo retreat, cursing in Japanese to the trio.

- The pirates' hunt for virgin blood has led them to Lacey. The new manager for MNM gets a disgusted look on her face as they ask her, and she starts yelling at them. Spud tells Burchill that she must be in her moon's cycle. Before they can go ask someone else, Nitro crotches Spud in the back, and Mercury and Merciless ambush Burchill. Lacey screams "Get them, get them, get them," and the obedient MNM do as they are told. Burchill fights back, sending Mercury and Nitro crashing into each other. As he stands face to face with the monster Merciless, the Austrian monster asks if he wants to take this to the ring. Burchill agrees, and requests a no-DQ match. Merciless readily agrees.

Cpt. Burchill vs Merciless w/MNM in a no-DQ match

After MNM's brutal assault, Burchill requested that this match was a no-dq match. Maybe not wise, considering Merciless' outside helpers. Not only did Merciless have a new manager in Lacey, he had his current tag-team partner Joey Mercury there, and Johnny Nitro, still on crutches (even though he has a neck injury, go figure).

Chairs came into play really soon, as the two big guys duelled with them in the ring. Merciless won that fence-off when he ducked a swing and took out Burchill's knee. He then erected the chair, and took Burchill down with a powerslam. Burchill hasn't become the fearsome pirate captain he is today by giving up that easily, and raised his arm at 2. The match ended up on the outside soon enough, where Merciless rammed Burchill into the steel barricades. Whenver Burchill came on the offensive, Joey Mercury or Nitro would intervene, giving the advantage back to the Bavarian.

Burchill's tag-team partner, the ringphobic Spud braved himself down the aisle in order to help his friend. He didn't see Nitro hiding behind a photographer, though, and the devious Nitro grabbed a hold of Spud and tossed him into the ring. Spud didn't know what to do inside the ring, and curled up into a fetal position in the middle of the ring. Lacey climbed inside, kicking his prone body several times to add insult to the injury. At the sight of this, Burchill broke free of Merciless and stormed the ring. He grabbed Lacey and pushed her against a turnbuckle, raising his fist in anger. Lacey pleaded with him not to hit her, and the distraction helped MNM to get in the ring. Nitro clubbed him with the crutch, and Mercury took him down with a DDT. Merciless then brought him down with the Death Shot to win the match. Spud's misfortunes never ends, or so it seems for the poor pirate.

- Josh Matthews stands by with John Cena. Matthews asks Cena if he did indeed attack Bill Alfonso earlier tonight. Cena says he did. Josh asks why, and Cena says that since he's the new brother in the hood, he needs to earn the respect and fear of his fellow brothers. An easy way of doing so was to punk out one of the big dawgs. RVD is a pretty big dawg, so Cena went after him and his family. Nothing personal, of course. Josh tells Cena that RVD has already requested a match with Cena at SummerSlam. Cena laughs, saying that RVD is eating out of his hand already. Cena waves his hand in front of his face, and tells RVD that come SummerSlam, there's a new kid on the block.

Kennedy vs Test

Kennedy has run rampant after his return to WWC, and has already heralded him as the next big thing in the wrestling world. The recent crowd favorite, Test, has taken exception to Kennedy's bragging, and has requested this match tonight. For Kennedy, this represents the biggest test he's had so far since his return, while Test needs to bounce back after being defeated decisively by Chris Benoit on two occasions.

Kennedy got a small pop going when he introduced himself as "the biggest star from Green Bay..." but it quickly turned into boos when he added "much bigger than those no-good losers playing for the Packers".

Test went on the offensive right away, taking Kennedy down with a clothesline and a full nelson slam to earn himself a 2-count from official Charles Robinson. Kennedy tried to soften up Test's neck with several cravates, leading up to a neckbreaker attempt which nearly got him the win. Test was dragged to the outside, where his arm was repeatedly rammed into the ringpost. This was no technical masterpiece either, but a good old-fashioned brawl, where Test slowly got the momentum going. Kennedy saw this, and as they were brawling on the outside, Kennedy kneed Test in the stomach and retrieved the ring bell. Ref Robinson warned Kennedy, but he didn't care and clocked Test with it anyways, causing the DQ. Kennedy was full of himself, and interrupted Chimel when he was about to announce Test as the winner. "The winner of this match.. but still knocked senseless by the greatest superstar in the world... Test..."

Test defeated Ken Kennedy by disqualification in 0:12:26.

Second City Saints vs TBA for the WWC Tag Team Titles

The Saints were awaiting their opponents, which according to the rumors were supposedly former tag-team champions, when a well-known theme came over the speakers. Rene Dupree and Rob Conway walked down the aisle waving the French flag. Punk and Cabana looked a little worried for a moment, before both got a good luck kiss from Melina. Punk faked being jealous at Cabana who strutted around, smiling broadly.

Watching the Saints wrestle now is quite different from a month or so earlier. They're both really happy and jovial in the ring, and it pays off. Even CM Punk smiles nowadays. La Resistance haven't tagged together for a while, so it took some time before they came on the offensive, of course as a result of a Rob Conway eyepoke. Some time later, Dupree brought down Punk with a death-valley driver, and was doing his French Tickler dance over Punk's prone body, when Punk suddenly sat up, headbutting Dupree in the you-know-where.

La Resistance really got into things eventually, and Cabana had a near death experience when the French team unveiled their new finishing combo. First, Dupree took him down with a DVD onto the knee, before Conway soared down on him with a flying legdrop. Punk broke the pin. All hell broke loose now, as all four men battled. Punk threw Dupree out of the ring, who grabbed a chair before heading back in. Melina stopped him, telling him to sit down. Dupree suddenly sported a huge grin, and sat down. Melina straddled him and began a very sexy lapdance. This gave the Saints a huge advantage in the ring. Punk hoisted Rob Conway on top of his shoulders, and Cabana took him down with a top-rope Ace Crusher for the win.

(Second City Saints retained the WWC Tag Team Titles.)

When Dupree realized he'd wasted away a title shot for a ten second lapdance, he pushed Melina away and went into the ring to apologize. The Saints didn't have time to celebrate long, as MNM and Lacey came down. Lacey got into Melina's face, calling her a slut, a tramp, a whore and a whole lot of other words that are not appropriate to mention. Lacey told the Saints that a carefree attitude like theirs would probably help them against these losers, but come SummerSlam, it would not do any good against MNM, as the titles were to be contested in the confines of a 15 foot high steel cage! Punk grabs the mic and asks MNM if they can skip the lousy promo from the boring girl and just start brawling, as they're supposed to do. MNM is caught unaware by this straightforward request, and Cabana and Punk throw the first punches.

The Saints have recently been in a 15 minute long battle, and even if they did get the first punches in, the numbers game catches up with them. Lacey and Melina are having a slapfest on the outside, as Nitro and his damned crutch bring the momentum to MNM's side in the ring. Nitro smashes the crutch repeatedly over Cabana's back, while Merciless executes the Death Shot onto Mercury's knee. On the outside, Melina's stinging slaps have brought Lacey to one knee. You can clearly see red marks on her pretty little face. Suddenly, she is jerked around by Nitro, who grabs her by the throat and forces her down on the mat. She is pleading with him to let her go, but Nitro keeps on choking her, forcing several security officers to come out to stop him. He lets go, but not before spitting at her. MNM leave triumphantly to a chorus of boos, as the Saints are helped out by trainers, refs and security. The stakes have certainly been raised in this war.

- A prison truck parks in the back of the arena. Shane O'Mac and some security officers arrive, asking what's going on. Paul Heyman (a rare sight) comes along, telling Shane that they are his guests. The guards open the back, where we see a motley gang of men dressed in orange prison suits. We see a tall fellow with a ponytail and a scarred face, a hippie-like fellow with a lot of missing teeth, a man dressed in a green mask who only talks gibberish, and of course.. a clean-shaven Randy Orton.

- We see some video footage from Japan. First we see Jamie Noble successfully defending his Strong-Style Championship against SUWA on a NOAH show, then we see him and Go Shiosaki defeating KENTA and Yoshinibu Kanemaru when Noble clocks KENTA with his championship belt. Chris Benoit is on the same NOAH show, defeating Takeshi Rikio with the Crippler's Crossface.

- We have reached the contract signing, and Rey Mysterio walks to the ring, where Shane McMahon is already waiting with the contract. Chris Benoit appears on the big screen, a Japanese guy in a suit with him. Benoit greets Shane and Rey, and introduces his lawyer, who has a totally generic Japanese name which isn't important. Before Rey signs the paper, he addresses Benoit. Rey says he's deeply disappointed in Benoit. For him to want the title is one thing, that's perfectly fine with Rey. But for one of the greatest wrestlers of all time to throw away everything the industry stands for disgusts Rey. Benoit tells Rey to shut his sanctimonious crap. He asks Rey if he's really happy with his wages. Can he support his family on it? Can he spend all the time he wants with them, and at the same time be on the top of his game? Benoit doesn't think so. For him, the most important thing is family, and if he has to step on a few toes in order to support them both financially and by being there, he will do so. They both sign their papers, and Benoit disappears from the screen.

The crowd then gasps, as a handcuffed and chained Randy Orton is led down the aisle by guards and Paul Heyman. Rey angrily asks Shane what's going on, but Shane shrugs. Heyman holds a microphone for Orton, who addresses Rey. Orton asks Rey if he has formed a different opinion about what took place six months ago, when his family was kidnapped by the Dojo. Orton pleads yet again that he had nothing to do with it, and it must be rather clear to Rey that it was in fact Benoit who orchestrated it. Orton admits that he didn't exactly mind what happened, as he so desperately wanted to retain his belt against someone he knew was a superior wrestler. Benoit set him up, why couldn't Rey see that. Orton tells Rey that he has a parole hearing coming up soon, and he would be extremely grateful if Rey could speak in his favor. The fans chant "don't you listen Rey", but Rey tells the fans to quiet down. Rey tells Orton that he has begun to doubt it, that's true. Right now, Rey doesn't know what to believe. He tells Orton that he'll be there, but he needs to talk with his family first, whether or not he'll support the parole, or if he is against it. Orton thanks him for the time, and is led back out.

As Smackdown goes off the air, Cole and Tazz are really not sure what's going on, but one thing's for sure, you better not miss the next show in 14 days, where owner Shane McMahon will have a HUGE announcement to make!

Mexicools were not far behind, and it turned into a major brawl. Ref Robinson had no other choice but to throw the match away. The fans didn't mind, as they witnessed this chaotic brawl.
