Monday Nitro - July 1, 1996

Harlem Heat are our new Champions
Highlights of last weeks Tag Team Title change are shown as Harlem Heat makes their way out to the broadcast table.  Booker T and Stevie Ray gloat about how they dominated the match to win the Titles and that no one can take them away.  The Steiner Brothers beg to differ and express as much by starting a brawl at the broadcast area which leads to our first match.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) when Booker pinned R. Steiner after the Harlem Hangover in 0:19:54.

(Harlem Heat retained the WCW World Tag Team Champions.)
Stevie Ray pulls a foreign object from his trunks and hits Rick Steiner, which leads to Booker T hitting the hangover for the win.

Disco Inferno defeated Kaz Hayashi by countout in 0:14:58.

[Billy Kidman interfered against Disco Inferno.]
Looks like the bad blood from the recent match between Disco Inferno and Billy Kidman is not over.  As a result of this interruption, we are told that a match has been signed for Bash at the Beach this Sunday.

Diamond Dallas Page pinned Scotty Riggs with the Diamond Cutter in 0:15:17.

After a thrilling match, DDP hits the Diamond Cutter for the win.  After the match he grabs a mic and is defiantly not happy.  DDP claims that some has stolen his precious Battlebowl Ring, and when he finds out who has it, he'll beat the punk within an inch of his life.

Randy Savage defeated Greg Valentine by pinfall in 0:08:53.

With Team WCW at his side, Savage makes easy work of the Hammer.  Post match, Team WCW is interviews about the attack perpetrated by the invaders last week.  Sting has a bandage on his forehead, and says he had a minor grade concussion, but that would not stop him from his mission this Sunday when he and Team WCW enter the ring with the Invaders.

The Giant defeated John Tenta by countout in 0:11:16.

(The Giant retained the WCW World Champion.)
Bubba Rogers insured that Tenta had no chance of winning by attacking while the ref was distracted.  After the match, Rogers continued his streak of shaving up more of Tenta's hair, leaving him with less than half of his hair and half of his goatee.

Backstage interview: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan is with Mean Gene and explains that he just found this ring in the men's room next to the toilets.  DDP hears this and attacks Duggan executing a Diamond Cutter.  DDP takes his ring and leaves Duggan lying.  

As the Camera pans away we catch a glimpse of the Invaders walking through the backstage area.  The camera catches up to follow them into the locker rooms.  The Invaders barely get into the locker rooms as the WCW roster joins together to physically throw the invaders out the back door of the Arena.

The Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit and Ric Flair) defeated
Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) and Steve Armstrong when Flair made R. Gibson submit to the Figure Four Leglock in 0:24:48.

The Horsemen show why they are the best at what they do in this 6 man Tag match.  Flair gets the win with the Figure Four.  As the match ends, Kevin Sullivan and the Dungeon storm the ring and a brawl ensues as the broadcast goes off the air.
