Saturday Night Main Event
2/06/88
Market Square Arena
Indianapolis IN

Hosted by: "Gorilla" Monsoon, Jesse "the Body" Ventura and Bobby "the Brain" Hennan

Monsoon: Welcome fans to Market Square Arena in Indianapolis Indiana, I'm "Gorilla" Monsoon, to my right Jesse "the Body" Ventura and joining us later the Brain, Bobby Hennan.

Ventura: That's right Monsoon, Hennan is busy at the moment preparing his guys to take the WWF Tag Team titles away from Strike Force.

Monsoon: That my friend is still up for debate. Tonight will set in motion events that will ripple all the way to Wrestlemania 4.

Ventura: Ripple is putting it lightly. 3 matches tonight will effect what takes place in Atlantic City. The Intercontinental Champion Honky Tonk Man has basically given Steamboat his last chance for gold if he loses tonight. Ted Dibiase and Hogan go at it to see who goes to Wrestlemania and let's not forget the main event. King Kong Bundy, Andre the Giant. What happens if Bundy wins? How will this effect the arrangement between DiBiase and the Giant and what if DiBiase beats Hogan does he still have to face the Giant at Wrestlemania?

Monsoon: All good questions I'm sure we will have answers for before the night is done. Our 1st match of the night will be for the WWF Tag Team tiles as the Islanders take on Strike Force.

Monsoon: Welcome back folks to Saturday Night Main Event, Joining us here at the booth is non other the Bobby "the Brain" Hennan, so Brain what happened out there?

Hennan: Monsoon it was a travesty, I will complain and bring this up to highest levels. What Tito Santana and Rick Martel pulled in that ring would have gotten anyone else disqualified but since Strike Force are the Golden Boys" they get away with anything!

Ventura: I agree with you Bobby, I counted at least 6 times that Tito Santana entered the ring illegally. The one time Haku entered with out a tag the ref threatened him with DQ.

Monsoon: Maybe I was watching the wrong match cause to me it looked like Tito Santana and Rick Martel demonstrated great Team work that helped them win and defend the titles each week.

Ventura: I don't know Monsoon, as thick as those glasses are you probably were watching a match down the street.

Monsoon: Ok moving on to other action tonight. Ricky Steamboat will face the Honky Tonk man for a Intercontinental title shot at Wrestlemania 4, but this just in Brain, on WWF Primetime , the Honky Tonk man will defend the title against the Junk Yard Dog.

Hennan: Your point being? The Honky Tonk Man is probably the best Intercontinental champion of all time; Steamboat and the Junk Yard Dog are no concern to the champ.

Ventura: I have to agree, Steamboat will lose tonight and the Junk Yard Dog will lose Monday.

Monsoon: Referee James Beard has seen enough and has disqualified Demolition giving the win to the Killer Bees,

Hennan: Like I said before, the refereeing tonight is just horrible; If Tito Santana woulda tripped Ax the ref would not have said anything. This has got to change!

Monsoon: Sorry you fell that way Brain but I think the right call was made, Mr. Fuji was given a warning earlier and he chose to ignore it..

Hennan: Any good manager worth their salt would have ignored it.

Monsoon: Coming up two huge matches that will effect Wrestlemania 4, Hulk Hogan and Ted DiBiase will face each other and for the WWF Heavyweight title, King Kong Bundy will take on Andre the Giant.

Commercial

Monsoon: Welcome back to Market Square Arena and you can feel the electricity in the air right before a Hogan match:

Ventura: You feel something alright but I doubt it's electricity.

Monsoon: back at Royal Rumble, Hulk Hogan was on the verge of recapturing the WWF title when King Kong Bundy pulled the ref in between him and a charging Hogan. With all three men down DiBiase and the Giant came down and worked on Hogan and rolling Bundy over him for the win.

Ventura: A great night in sports whenever Hogan is on his back knocked out.

Monsoon: That Monday on WWF Primetime WWF Commissioner Jack Tunney announced that Hogan and DiBiase would meet for the #1 contenders spot at Wrestlemania 4.

Ventura: That's all fine and dandy Monsoon but the story here is that DiBiase has guaranteed that he was leaving Indianapolis the WWF World Champ. If he wins tonight and Andre hands over the belt what does that do to Tunney's grand plan for Wrestlemania?

Hennan: My question is what will happen if Bundy wins or if Andre wins and decides he wants to keep the belt?

You got **** 1/4 out of a Hogan match?  Impressive.  I'm sure DiBiase had a huge part in that.

and I loved the swerve of Andre refusing to hand the title over.  A nice altered history from the real life incident.  Plus a Hogan/Andre rematch!

I said the same thing when TNM spit out the rating. Im sure BiBiase was a major reason for that. But in Hogan's defence, it was the best match of the night,
