Platinum Extreme Wrestling: Week 1 - 01/03/06

No DQ Match:
Erik Watts pinned Josh Prohibition after a fisherman suplex in 0:10:26.
Rating: ** 3/4

Erik Watts has been trying like hell to impress Bobby Duncum Jr. so that Duncum agrees to be his tag team partner, and matches like this are the way to do it. Josh may have the greater repertoire of moves, but it doesn't help when Watts just starts a-clubberin' him.
(Erik Watts +1, Josh Prohibition -1)

No DQ Falls Count Anywhere Match:
Wayne Bloom pinned D-Ray 3000 after a gutwrench suplex in 0:10:43.
Rating: ***

In a No DQ FCA match having a manager is like having a handicap match. D-Ray 3000 had to fight both Bloom and his manager Lanny Poffo. After a skirmish outside, D-Ray takes the match back inside the ring to even the odds since Poffo wouldn't follow. But Bloom sent him back outside and got the win with a gutwrench suplex mid-arena after knocking D-Ray senseless with the ring bell.
(Wayne Bloom +1, D-Ray 3000 -1)

No DQ Bed of Thumbtacks Match
911 defeated Pitbull #2 in 0:09:02.
Rating: ** 1/4

Chants of "ECW" could be heard from the hardcore fans. 911 and Pitbull #2 are no strangers to each other, but they may be strangers to the match concept. Both of them kept pulling out table after table from underneath the ring. A total of 4 tables were broken before 911 hit the Choke Slam and remembered to toss Pitbull #2 onto the bed of thumbtacks.
(911 +3, Pitbull #2 -3)

No DQ Match
Lash LeRoux, Luther Biggs and Mike Sanders defeated
Unholy Church (Altar Boy Luke, Mideon and Vengeance) when L. LeRoux pinned
Mideon with the Death Valley Slam in 0:18:33.
Rating: ** 3/4

Vengeance (known as Mordecai in his brief WWE run) has picked up follow WWE has-been Mideon (clothed!) and Altar Boy Luke and has now turned to the dark side, calling his trio the Unholy Church. They challenged any three wrestlers to come out and face them. One by one LeRoux, Biggs and Sanders came out and shook each other's hands. The match didn't go Vengeance's way as he and his henchmen were handily out-wrestled at every turn. LeRoux gets the win for his team, but I doubt this is over by a longshot.
(Lash LeRoux +2, Luther Biggs +1, Mike Sanders +1, Vengeance -1, Mideon -2, Altar Boy Luke -1)

No DQ Match
Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) defeated
The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and Warlord) when R. Rock pinned Barbarian
after the Drive By in 0:09:50.
Rating: *

Public Enemy and the Power of Pain are two veteran teams who have no problem using whatever is handy to bash each other's heads in. Tonight, it's Public Enemy's night as Warlord is sent crashing through a (pre-cut?) table and The Barbarian gets hit with a Drive By!
(Rocco Rock +3, Johnny Grunge +2, The Barbarian -3, Warlord -2)

Barbed Wire No-DQ-Match
Jack Victory and Ray Traylor defeated The Canadian Vampire and Scott Hall when
Traylor pinned S. Hall with the Boss Man Slam in 0:12:10.
Rating: ** 1/2

A bloody match-up sees Victory and Traylor picking up a win over Canadian Vampire (Gangrel) and "Da Bad Guy" Scott Hall. Traylor seemed to have a problem with Hall throughout the match. Often to pantomime a drinking motion while pointing to Hall and being especially vicious against Hall (such as grinding his face onto the barbed wire!). After the match, Traylor handcuffs Hall and beats him with his nightstick while Victory keeps the Canadian Vampire at bay.
(Ray Traylor +2, Jack Victory +1, The Canadian Vampire -1, Scott Hall -2)

Card rating: ** 1/4

Platinum Extreme Wrestling: Week 2 - 01/10/06

No DQ Falls Count Anywhere Match with Managers Banned From Ringside:
Wayne Bloom and D-Ray 3000 battled to a draw in 20:00.
Rating: ** 3/4

A rematch from last week, this time without Lanny Poffo. Both men fall off the balcony onto some convenient padding, then lie motionless for a good 4 minutes as time runs out. Nothing solved tonight, but the crowd was impressed.

Barbed Wire No DQ Match:
Altar Boy Luke pinned Lash LeRoux after a flying legdrop in 13:30.
Rating: **** 1/4

Holy shit, LeRoux & Luke pull out all the stops tonight and really put on a great match. Both end up bloody & beaten with the barbed wire being extensively used. Luke simply outlasts LeRoux and gets the win. Vengeance will be pleased.
(Altar Boy Luke +5, Lash LeRoux -5)

No DQ Match:
Unholy Church (Mideon and Vengeance) defeated Luther Biggs and Pitbull #2 when Vengeance pinned Pitbull #2 with the Crucifix Bomb in 16:30.
Rating: **

The rest of the Unholy church are also successful against the makeshift team of Luther Biggs & Pitbull #2. Vengeance may actually have some leadership abilities after all.
(Mideon +1, Vengeance +2, Luther Biggs -1, Pitbull #2 -2)

Table No DQ Match:
Bobby Duncum Jr. and Erik Watts defeated Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) when B. Duncum defeated R. Rock by putting him through a table in 2:55.
Rating: **

Watts finally got his chance to team with his idol Bobby Duncum Jr. in a tables match with the Table Match masters, Public Enemy. The match barely got started when Duncum swung a table really hard and broke it over Rocco Rock's back. Effective and efficient.
(Bobby Duncum Jr. +1, Erik Watts +1, Johnny Grunge -1, Rocco Rock -1)

No DQ Match:
John Kronus pinned The Barbarian with the Flying 450 Splash in 13:12.
Rating: ** 1/2

On size alone, Kronus was the massive underdog. But when you factor in his resilience, inventiveness, and sheer guts, Kronus fells the Barbarian and takes the win.
(John Kronus +2, The Barbarian -2)

Main Event:
Taped Fist No DQ Falls Count Anywhere Match:

Scott Hall pinned Ray Traylor after a sunset flip in 12:04.
Rating: **** 1/4

"Holee Shit! Holee Shit!" Never has that chant been more true. These two veteran of the sport decided to try to top the Luke & LeRoux match from earlier and they came pretty damn close. They fought each other across the building and back, using anything they could get their hands on.
(Scott Hall +2, Ray Traylor -2)
