NAWA Glory 9/2/04

MattHarmsPosted on 08/17/06 at 20:29:00

NAWA Glory 9/2/04:

Stills from Sunday night at WrestleClash III. The Dark Warrior causes the undefeated streak of Ron Waterman to come crashing down thanks to the help of an ether soaked rag and his fellow Triumvirate teammates. Christopher Daniels and Raven take a Walk Through Hell with Raven outlasting the Fallen Angel to win that bout. Neither Raven nor Daniels are here tonight due to the brutality of that match at WrestleClash III! They may never be the same again after what was perhaps the most sadistic, vicious match in two and a half years of the NAWA. Order the replay Friday or Saturday night.

In the Parking Lot:

The crowd in the arena cheers as Harry Harris arrives in the building but New Jack comes out along with security.

New Jack: Listen Harris, as much as it pains me to do this and uphold law and order, you can't be let in the building tonight.

Harris: What the hell! Give me a good reason why I'm not allowed in the building tonight!

New Jack: My hands are tied Harris, let me tell you this. Stylish has put a restraining order on you due to attacking him last night. The entire Triumvirate has attempted to walk and quite frankly, Harms would have a fuckin' fit if the International, Television, and World Champions all walked in the same night. So you have the night off for tonight.

Harris: You know what, Commissioner, fine. I'll leave but Stylish is not going to be able to hide behind a restraining order forever. I will get my hands on the Triumvirate again eventually. They have two things I want. Stylish's head and the NAWA World Title! I will get them both in due time, it's just a matter of time.

New Jack: And Harris, just to let you know, for your safety I am suspending you until you are medically cleared to wrestle. I ain't needing any more fuckin' lawsuits but the fact is you aren't cleared to compete for another three weeks.

Harris just waves at New Jack before turning around and walking off. New Jack turns to security.

New Jack: Guard this door with your fucking lives and don't let him sneak back in at all. I have a sinking feeling that was too easy.

Security nods as New Jack enters the building as we fade out from the backstage area.

TONIGHT: Two titles will be on the line as Tony Mamaluke defends his newly acquired NAWA Cruiserweight Title against Alex Shelley and Lenny and Juvi have their first NAWA Tag Team Title defense against the Archnagels of Anarchy. Also, the former NAWA World Champion Ron Waterman is in the building as is the new NAWA World Champion the Dark Warrior as well as the rest of the Triumvirate. All that and more but right now let's get down to the ring for some NAWA wrestling action.

"Just Say it, Just Say My Name, Prime Time Baby"

Out comes Elix Skipper to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Elix Skipper had a decent showing at WrestleClash III even through he was the first man eliminated in the three way elimination match that also involved Alex Shelley and Spanky. Skipper enters the ring, posing on the second rope.

"Take My Breath Away" by Berlin plays and the crowd explodes into boos as the former NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Teddy Hart comes down to the ring. Teddy Hart doesn't have any NAWA Cruiserweight Title Belt or Hart Foundation, the Next Generation with him tonight, so he looks different then he did the last year. Teddy Hart enters the ring with a pissed off look on his face. He was not happy with his title loss last Sunday night and he needs to beat Elix Skipper to get back on track in the NAWA. The bell rings and this match is on.

Teddy Hart pinned Elix Skipper after a backslide in 0:08:38.
Rating: *** 1/2

Teddy Hart rolls to the ring and runs towards the back to avoid Elix Skipper's wrath. Hart yells: "One move, that's all it takes to win!" That may in fact be true as Elix Skipper cleaned Teddy Hart's clock up until the end.

Backstage:

We are in a room with Unholy Alliances banners and a lottery tumbler. Commissioner New Jack and NAWA Interviewer Dan Marion are standing by.

New Jack: Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the drawing for the first match at Unholy Alliances. Unholy Alliances is on Pay Per View on September 19th and it should be the shit. It will be a fuckin' grand spectacle. With me to assist with the drawing is the NAWA owner Dan Marion.

Marion: Indeed, Commissioner, it is a grand event, with the winner getting a shot at the NAWA World Champion which will either be the Gambler or the Dark Warrior, as that match is scheduled for Unholy Alliances. Yes indeed fans, mark your calenders, on September 19th it will be the Dark Warrior against the Gambler for the NAWA World Title. But let's not worry about that now, let's draw for the first bout in the Unholy Alliances tournament.

Marion spins the lottery tumbler before reaching forward and pulling out a ball. He pops it open, looking at the slip of paper inside.

Marion: The first man drawn for the Unholy Alliances Tournament is....AGONY OF THE ARCHANGELS OF ANARCHY!

New Jack: Damn fine crazy bastard right there, excellent first pick for the Unholy Alliances Tournament.

Marion reaches into the lottery tumbler before pulling out another ball.

Marion: His tag team partner will be...Spanky!

New Jack: So, Agony and Spanky are teaming up in the Unholy Alliances? Damn bitchin' tag team right there.

Marion: Now team number two...

Marion reaches into the lottery tumbler.

Marion: Well you better get ready to Hail Sabin, because entering the Unholy Alliances Tournament, Chris Sabin.

New Jack: Damn straight motherfucker, Hail Sabin, bitch.

Marion: Yes and finally his tag team partner....

Marion reaches into the lottery tumbler and pulls out another ball. He pops it open, before taking out the slip of paper.

Marion: Sabin's tag team partner, the man who survived Walk Through Hell and managed to win, barely. Raven. So at Unholy Alliances it will be Spanky and Agony against Raven and Chris Sabin. More Glory after this.

New Jack: Don't change the fucking channel or I'll deal with you personally.

"Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top plays and the crowd explodes into boos as the Triumvirate makes their way down to the ring wearing three piece suits . Miles Stylish has his NAWA International Title Belt over his shoulder and a taped up jaw, which may have been from Harry Harris popping him one in the mouth at WrestleClash. Jerry Lynn has the Television Title on underneath his suit jacket and has a clipboard in his hand. The Dark Warrior doesn't have his facepaint on but rather a pair of extremely dorky looking coke bottle glasses and he is dragging the NAWA World Title Belt on the ground. The Triumvirate steps into the ring as Jerry Lynn grabs the microphone.

Lynn: Listen up. I have an official proclaimation from Miles Stylish, who is unable to speak tonight due to Harry Harris assaulting him at the Pay Per View and breaking his jaw. It goes as follows:

Lynn clears his throat for dramatic effect, causing the boos to rain down upon the ring and a few pieces of trash to hit the ring.

Lynn: Last Sunday night, I, Miles Stylish retained the NAWA International Title once again, defeating another competitor who thought he could get the better of me. Killings gave me a few of what some people would consider anxious moments but I triumpthed in the end due to being that much better than Killings. Yet, once again, I don't get the respect I should. Harry Harris came out and for no good reason viciously assaulted me. As a result, he broke my jaw, stripping the New Age Wrestling Alliance of a valuable commodity for the next several weeks, my ability to talk. This is an outrage and I am considering filing a lawsuit against Harry Harris with unprovoked assault and battery that occured August 29th at WrestleClash III. In the meantime, I have filed a restraining order against Harry Harris for this evening and is considering sending a petition to NAWA owner Matt Harms to get Harry Harris fired because with Harris's continued employment in the New Age Wrestling Alliance providing such a hazardous working environment for a star performer such as myself. And it will be a cold day in hell before Harry Harris ever holds the NAWA World Title again, I will personally make sure of that. Thank you.

Stylish nods, before clutching his jaw in pain, as the crowd boos him. He was taunting Harry Harris for months on end, after nearly taking him out of wrestling with a vicious assault on his knee eight months ago and now he can't handle his receipt!

Lynn: And our new NAWA World Champion would like to say a few words, so take it away Dark Warrior.

A few words? Warrior? Yeah, and Twizted Youth is the reincarnation of Frank Gotch.

Warrior: Last Sunday, WrestleClash III, the grand unveiling of Destrucity was upon us and through the never came the grandest event of them all. The belt which has so very much aluded me for the two and a half years past came to me, just like I proclaimed would happen and just like I predicted. Ron Waterman collapsed underneath the pressure of his own morality.

More like collapsed under the pressure of an ether soaked rag but let's see what else the Warrior has to say on this evening.

Warrior: Facing against his own destiny, Waterman crumpled straight down to reality in a stream of ever lasting Destrucity just like the fates throughout and without have been faced off within the ever being of the souls madated by the ever lasting glory of Destrucity. The New Age Wrestling Alliance World Championship belt returned to a home of a place where all could perish and all take the destiny straight to the face off, taking into the world and into the universe, straight into the everlasting dimensions of facing into the spirit of the worlds of Destrucity. End of it all, be it all, that's the only way Destrucity could be everlasting throughout the entire multitude of the universes and facing off against the ever lasting force to take the worlds for Ron Waterman and his very soul, eating in the entire fabric of...

"The Unforgiven" by Metallica plays and not a moment too soon. The NAWA World Champion was rambling but we now have the former NAWA World Champion Ron Waterman making his way down to the ramp in front of the ring with the microphone. Lynn calls for the microphone, which Warrior gives up reluctantly.

Lynn: As the official spokesperson for the Triumvirate for this evening, I want to ask you what the hell do you want Waterman? We don't have any room for washed up, no longer undefeated ex NAWA World Champions on this broadcast.

The crowd explodes into boos but Waterman lifts up his microphone.

Waterman: Warrior, I want my rematch for the NAWA World Title, tonight!

The crowd explodes into cheers, they would want to see that match tonight.

Lynn: I'm sorry Waterman but the champion is not defending his belt tonight, so get off the Triumvirate's show.

The crowd chants "asshole" and Waterman glares at Lynn before speaking.

Waterman: I will get my rematch tonight, as all former champions are entitled a return match for the NAWA World Title and I am cashing in my instant rematch clause tonight.

Lynn: No Waterman, it's not that simple. The NAWA rules state that the former champion gets one return title shot, but the champion can delay it as long as it happens within six months of the initial title change. So Waterman, feel free to come back in six months and the Dark Warrior will still be the NAWA World Champion at that time.

The crowd explodes into boos again but Lynn smirks before speaking again.

Lynn: No wait, you can get your rematch tonight, under one condition. Normally titles can change hands in this promotion by countout or disqualification. If you waive your right to win the title in this matter, then and only then you can get your NAWA World Title Shot. If you don't agree, then you have at least six months before the Dark Warrior grants you your NAWA World Title Shot.

Waterman pauses, considering this offer.

Lynn: Remember Waterman, this offer self destructs in ten seconds.

Waterman: I accept.

The crowd cheers. We have a match for the NAWA World Title between the Dark Warrior and Ron Waterman, a rematch from WrestleClash III tonight on Glory. The rule that the title can change hands on countout or disqualification will not be in effect for this match. More Glory after this.

"Living La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin plays and the crowd cheers as the new NAWA World Tag Team Champions make their way down to the ring. Lenny and Juvi come down to the ring, the belts strapped around their waists. Last Sunday night, they beat Petey Williams and Johnny Devine to end the title reign of the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation. Lenny and Juvi remove their belts before Juvi grabs the microphone.

Juvi: Finally, the Juice along with Lenny Lane has come back to Calgary!

The crowd cheers before Lenny grabs the microphone.

Lenny: Well no one gave us any hope. They called us a midcard comedy act but we showed the world that we could be championship material. The NAWA World Tag Team Titles, definately an honor here in the New Age Wrestling Alliance with the high quality of competition in the tag team division. Our first Glory as champions, we already have to defend the belts against the Archangels of Anarchy. Now, the Archangels are a tough tag team and there is a good chance we will get our asses stomped tonight. Our title reign may be short lived but there is also the chance that somehow we will defeat all the odds again and retain the NAWA World Tag Team Titles to add another week to our championship reign. We may in fact get killed, but at least we know that before we came out here, we survived a near death experience already tonight. That is, a near death experience by boredom at the hands of the Triumvirate, especially our new NAWA World Champion the Dark Warrior.

The crowd explodes into boos at the mention of the Warrior.

Lenny: Our thoughts exactly.

Juvi: Yeah I mean what is up with this rooted poo jabroni. He rambles on and on and on and on and well you get the picture. He talks about Destrucity and rambles about things that make little sense. I would like to down the smack on that rooted poo candy ass.

Lenny: Yes but he's not the least of the Triumvirate's problems. Sure they have a lot more interview time then we do and will be in a hell of a lot more main event matches then we can ever hope to be but let's forget about that right now. We've got Miles Stylish. Now I know Miles Stylish. We've had a couple of matches last year where he kicked my ass a couple of times but he is a self serving jackass who needs to be knocked in the jaw a few more times. We thank Harry Harris for breaking his jaw at the Pay Per View, too bad it wasn't more permanent. Then we got Jerry...

At this point, Lenny pretends to fall asleep before waking back up.

Lenny: Lynn. He's old and about as exciting as watching dried paint on the wall. Even paint actually drying his more dynamic than this guy. Sure, he's an excellent wrestler but the fact remains he is not as charismatic and entertaining as the Juice and myself. Now, enough about the Triumvirate, as we'll probally get heat from the office for talking about this on television when we aren't anywhere near their level on the NAWA pecking order...

Juice: Wouldn't be the first time we got heat from the office, if you enhale the aromas that the Juice is producing.

Lenny: Yeah, but enough about the Triumvirate. Destruction, Armageddon come out here. If you want the NAWA World Tag Team Titles, you'll have to pry it from our dead, decaying corpses.

"Hell's Bells" by AC/DC plays and out come the challengers for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles. Armageddon and Destruction of the Archangels of Anarchy and they have the sinister, the evil, the vile, the cruel, the dispicable, Chosen One with them. The leader of the Archangels, Christopher Daniels is not here tonight due to the injuries he suffered in Walk Through Hell. A concussion, cracked ribs, and several punture wounds in his chest and stomach from getting impaled on a bed of nails was pretty much the damange that Christopher Daniels received last Sunday night. Armageddon and Destruction enter the ring as the bell rings, kicking off this NAWA World Tag Team Title Match.

Enjoy your last week with the title Mamaluke before I rip it from your grasp and go on another thirteen month title run, hell, maybe even longer. You can't beat me Mamaluke for one simple fact. That is I'm Teddy Hart and you're not.

Teddy Hart stomps the champion in the face before walking off. We'll be right back after this break.

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW FROM THE LAST GLORY:

Wrestling Excellent Newsletter for 9/6/04

The Ron Waterman/Dark Warrior match on the 9/2/04 edition of Glory was considered to be a disappointment by NAWA management and there is some regrets with giving the Warrior and Waterman that much time for their match despite the decent match at WrestleClash III

The End of Days Promo poster has Miles Stylish, Harry Harris, the Dark Warrior, and Raven featured on it.

Indepedent wrestler Homicide fought AJ Styles in a dark match on the 9/2/04 Glory broadcast that was a nice, ten minute encounter with Styles winning. There is talk that the NAWA may bring in Homicide once the freeze they have put on new talent coming in expires at the end of 2004.

Other Dark Matches Were:
Shawn Stasiak defeating Agony with a running powerslam.
Petey Williams pinning Spanky with the Canadian Destroyer.

A lengthy sitdown interview with Harry Harris was taped and the first part of that will air the the September 9th addition of Glory.

Former NAWA wrestlers CW Anderson and Van Hammer are in talks to come back to the company when the freeze on new talent expires at the end of the year but this is just preliminary right now.

Last Saturday Night, the NAWA's developemental territory, Midwestern Championship Alliance Wrestling had a show that saw Sedrick Skyhawk retain his MCAW Heavyweight Title against Victor Domicious(formally Pierre Marquette, who was merely sent back to the Developemental territory as opposed to being released as mentioned last week). Also, the Texas Lonestars(Zebikiah Roth and Dustin Williams) lost the Tag Team Titles to Shadow Corp(Doomsday and Mastermind) when Doomsday used a lead pipe to score the pin. Also, Johnny Excalibur made a one night return, despite in a losing effort to Dominic Santiago and Harry Harris also made a special apperance where he had a confrontation with Sedrick Skyhawk and his Hollywood All Stars(Percival Icronis, Mondo Cool, and his publicist Candice Sweet) until Lenny and Juvi made the save from the beginning of a beatdown which lead to the NAWA Tag Team Champions defending their titles in a winning effort against Mondo Cool and Percival Icronis. It was announced that former MCAW Champion Miles Stylish will be making an apperance on the next show.

The following is confirmed for the 9/9/04 Glory:
Part One of a Two Part Sitdown Interview with Harry Harris
Rapmaster Killings vs CM Punk
Ricardo Ramos Ricardo vs Spanky
Teddy Hart vs Tony Mamaluke(c) for the NAWA Cruiserweight Championship.
The Triumvirate vs the Gambler, Juvi, and Lenny in a six man tag team match.

Two parter sit down interview? Iiiiinteresting. I don't think I've ever seen anyone try that before. It's got to be long enough to justify two parts and it's got to be interesting enough to justify being long. I'll leave that in your very capable hands.

By the way, Triumvirate = very dominant. I don't really spy any of them losing their gold any time soon. Gambler getting a title shot is novel and certainly one to look forward to, but I can't see him winning.
