Match observations:

This weeks episode of Luchavision saw the formation of a new group, El Peso Machacante
Del Mal (The Crushing Weight Of Evil), and established Mistico as a real challenger to
Cthulhu's Luchador Sobretodo Otros.

Our first match of the night took place after El Peso Machancante Del Mal told the
fans why they settled on that name. For the record it was because during the official
weigh-ins the group had a total combined weight of 666lbs. which they saw as a sign
from the Devil to do his bidding as a group. The Match it self saw El Peso Machancante
Del Mal defeat Lizmark Jr., Ricky Marvin, and Torres Poderoso. Del Mal came out with
some slick new matching ring gear and gave hails to all kinds of evil things during
the match, upsetting the seeming conservative crowd. If they where looking to become
super rudos over night, hailing satan in a highly Catholic area is a great way to do
it. The match was pretty strightfoward from a wrestling sense with very few spots
worth mentioning, the only one that springs to mind was what I'm assuming is their
new finisher, which is a reverse razor's edge setup, with a double springboard
facecrusher from the two guys not holding the opponent, in this case that would have
been Silver King and Ultimo Gringo. They commented after the match that the move is
called Fuerza Completa Del Mal (The Full Force of Evil).

Our next match saw the singles match debut of El Ganador as he took on Charly Manson.
The match was solid but not really amazing as Ganador is still young and Manson isn't
really known for being a spectacular worker. Ganador did unleash some pretty inovative
moves which included a tornado lung blower->dragon sleeper and his finisher Bola
Senton del Canon (Cannon Ball Senton) which is actually a shooting star senton.

Rey Bucanero called for a one night cease fire with Cthulhu to take out Mistico, as
Bucanero put it, "Our fight is between you and me Cthulhu, and now some high-flying
prima-donna wants to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong! Tonight we'll team
up, again, and we'll crush him, so that I can crush you without being distracted again
from my goal to become Luchador Sobretodo Otros."

After Bucanero's interview Abismo Negro, Ultimo Guerrero and Asesino faced off with
Dos Caras Jr. and the Fuerza's. The match was short due to Gran Lucha's Captain's
Rules which states that if the team captain is pinned the match is immediatly awarded
to the pinning team regardless of the fall count. Negro pinned Caras around the 12
minute mark with a flying somersault splash. Dos Caras was favoring his ribs after
the match, he may have been injured during the match.

This week's Volver a Vivir La Lucha segment showed Olimpico tapping both Ultimo
Guerrero and Abismo Negro from last week. Then it showed the crazy rolling flippy
headscissiors dive from the debut show that Cthulhu did to Bucanero. Then we are
shown Mistico squashing Bucanero and Cthulhu from last week.

Last week Olimipico scored two straight falls on the team of Charly Manson, Abismo
Negro and Ultimo Guerrero, this week he continues to look very strong as he beat
two of the most well known guys on the Gran Lucha roster, Dr. Wagner Jr., and El
Hijo Del Santo. The match was pretty long and said to be one of the best matches that
anyone in attendence has ever seen. After 30 minutes of fighting and a Santo, Olimpico
double tope, Dr. Wagner was left collapsed on the floor outside the ring, leaving
Santo and Olimpico to bring the match home, after about another minute Olimpico locked
the Inverted Cristo causing Santo to tap out, just as Wagner was re-entering the ring.
After the match Olimpico and Santo shook hands while Wagner shoved them both and left
for the back. Olimpico and Santo left the ring together much to the delight of the
fans.

A lot of people have been wondering why Mistico interjected himself in Rey Bucanero
and Cthulhu's fight last week. Well, this week he had an answer for everyone. "People
keep asking me, 'Mistico, why? Why did you attack Bucanero and Cthulhu?'. When I
was asked to be a part of Gran Lucha, I had a devine vision, a vision handed down to
me by someone more powerful than all the Luchadores combined, a vision of being
Luchador Sobretodo Otros. The vision showed me that the fans desired it, the world
of Lucha Libre needed it, and I was destined for it. Who am I to deny my destiny? I
am but a luchador, no more no less, and I am destined to be the best." A very strange
reason really, but who are you to doubt the vision?

The interview led directly into the handicap tag match with Mistico facing both Rey
Bucanero and Cthulhu. I think most people, myself included where pretty positive that
Bucanero and Cthulhu wouldn't be able to work as a cohesive team, and that's pretty
much how it went down. The match ended after Bucanero, who at this point had only
been allowed into the match when Cthulhu would end up on the outside, as Cthulhu
refused to tag him, had had enough and entered the ring and laid out Cthulhu with
a pretty angry chair shot. Mistico ejected Bucanero from the ring who just got up and
headed backstage. Cthulhu staggered to his feet, but was met with the La Mistica and
tapped out after holding out for over 40 seconds. The fans where ecstatic over
Mistico's win and the show went off the air with Mistico celebrating on his way to
the back.

More SILVER KING! Good to have him win and to be in a stable with a hilariously long name. The reasoning is pretty bulletproof too (truly, it is a sign).

So Charly Manson's going to be enhancement talent, eh? El Ganador does look good going over here.

Rey Bucanero makes sense in theory, but this is not going to work out.

The right team went over here. But then I'm biased since Ultimo Guerrero is God.

Olimpico keeps looking strong and had a five star match no less. Though with him, Dr. Wagner Jr. and Hjio Del Santo for 30+ minutes, it's to be expected. A bit of a surprise that Hijo was the one to tap out though.

Makes sense on Mistico's standpoint, even if it asks you to assume that he's bat**** insane. But who am I to doubt Mistico's motives?

Bucanero walks out on Cthulhu, but that lets Mistico get a fall over the champ, so he may have wanted to rethink that. Good main event.

Looking forward to what's coming next.

Man do I have plans for Silver King and his men of evil. You can be sure that unless they get injured or quit they'll be on a lot of the upcoming shows.

No one is really enhancement talent, it's just that I need a few guys to put over the guys I've created so I can talk about them in a less cluttered enviroment. One on one matches are the easiest way to do that...after they've all had singles matches no one will be "enhancement talent".

Bucanero is single minded, and his team with the man who keeps the one thing he's thinking about away from his is bound to fall apart...good call.

I'm an Ultimo Guerrero fan to, but I also really like Dos Caras Jr. so I had no preference as to who won the match. I was kinda hoping it went 3 falls, but it gave me a chance to explain captain's rules to anyone who may not have known.

I wanted to establish Olimpico as a badass, El Hijo Del Santo as a very upstanding tecnico, and Dr. Wagner Jr. as a dick. I think it worked out nicely.

That's right, who are you to doubt the vision? Besides his gimmick is that he's a mystic, mystics have visions...it's what they do...he just also has delusions of granduer.

I have plans for the aftermath of the main event match so I'm not going to comment, that way I don't ruin anything.

Besides, it is hard to say someone is enhancement talent when they lost a hard fought 2 out of 3 falls match, 2 to 1 falls.

Big win for Abismo & Company.  Getting the win after just one fall by pinning team captain Dos Caras Jr.  His father he ain't. ;)

Would've liked to see Wagner win because I'm a huge Wagner mark, but I likes me some Olimpico & HdS too.  Excellent match up, though I'd have expected it to be with those three.

Mistico comes out on top of Cthulhu, who I still heart big time.  Mistico looks like he's going to be taking that belt away from Cthulhu sooner than later at this rate.

Good to see you back with a circuit Carl. Even though I rarely know your guys, your writing style is a refreshing change. And you also seem to be doing your circuits so realistic and true to its nature.

Did they really add up to 666 lbs? Or did you tweak a little ?  ;D   Either way, wonderful gimmick.

CarlzillaPosted on 08/13/06 at 00:20:05

They really added up, I didn't have any plans for them really until I noticed that. Then, boom...instant evil!
