Match observations:

The second episode of Gran Lucha's Luchavision aired this week, and much like the
first episode there was a lot going on. Our first matchup saw Asesino beat Lizmark Jr.
in 3 falls. The match was said to be a decent showing for both men with Asesino
showing his inexperience and having to be carried for portions by Lizmark Jr. When
Asesino was ontop of his game in the match he was said to look very vicious and the
fans really ate up his sheer disrespect towards them and towards his opponent,
earning him some of the biggest rudo heat tonight. His finisher, Policia Muerte
(Dead Police), was reported as being a second rope Gory Special Driver.

Our second  match saw the Rudo team of Jesus P. Estrada, who was the only unmasked
graduate of the Gran Escuela De Lucha, Ultimo Gringo, who is so far the only American
graduate, and the team captain, Silver King, take on tecnicos El Fuerza, who is the
head trainer at Gran Escuela De Lucha, Gran Fuerza, who is the son of El Fuerza, and
El Ganador, with El Fuerza acting as the team captain. The match was a high paced one
with the first fall coming just after the 7 minute mark, when all 3 rudos sent their
opponents to the outside and then hit triple planchas on them to score a countout
fall. The second fall took a bit longer and had more of a back and forth feel. It was
highlighted by an excellent assisted top rope Force Blast as El Fuerza springboarded
from Gran Fuerza hands has the both stood on the top rope and delivered his patented
Force Blast on Jesus P. Estrada for the fall. The third and deciding fall saw the
rudo team take out both Gran Fuerza and and El Ganador with stero flying dropkicks to
the outside. Which left Ultimo Gringo and El Fuerza in the ring, Gringo got his
Ultimo Dolor (Ultimate Pain) submission locked in and El Fuerza tapped. The Ultimo
Dolor itself is reported as a crab hold with Gringo locking in a figure four headvice
and pulling back in both directions.

There was a short break where Rey Bucanero was asked about being forced to team with
Cthulhu. Bucanero said he had no plans to cooperate with "that little bastard" and
that he would rather loose the match then help him to win.

Our next match saw more established stars on both sides, with the tecnicos consisting
of Dos Caras Jr., Olimpico, and Ricky Marvin, and the rudos being Charly Manson,
Abismo Negro, and Ultimo Guerrero. The tecnico team started off getting destroyed by
the rudos, unable to match their brawling ability. Dos Caras Jr. finally had had
enough and scored an excellent takedown on Guerrero pummeling him with vicious shots
to the head and ribs. Caras then baseball slid out of the ring grabbing the foot of
Negro and Manson on the way out causing all three of them to end up in a pile on the
outside. This gave Olimpico the "lucha tag" he needed to step in and lock the
Inverted Cristo on Guerrero for the first fall. The second fall didn't take long
since the rudos had been isolating Caras for most of the match Olimpico was pretty
fresh and decided to take the frustration of watching his teammate get beat up for
most of the match out on Abismo Negro, scoring a few nice double team moves including
a nice monkey flip senton, before locking in the Inverted Cristo and taking home the
match in 2 straight falls.

Another short break while we take a look at a new segment "Volver a Vivir La Lucha"
(Reliving the Fight). They showed clips from last weeks show, which included the
finals of both Una Lucha Tornaments, the amazing headscissors suicida that I wrote
about last week, the Moonsault Bodyblock that won Cthulhu the title of Luchador
Sobretodo Otros, and his celebration with the title.

Now it's time for the main event of the evening. Tecnicos Mistico, Torres Poderoso,
and El Hijo Del Santo faced off against rudos Cthulhu, Rey Bucanero, and Dr. Wagner
Jr.. Earlier Bucanero made it clear he had no intention of helping Cthulhu in any way
and he made good on that promise in the first fall, only entering the ring to help
Dr. Wagner with double teaming, and refusing to tag or be tagged by Cthulhu. Wagner
eventually grew sick of their arguing which culminated in a brawl on the outside of
the ring which distracted the evil dr. and allowed El Hijo Del Santo to suprise him
with a Frakenstiener to take the first fall. Between falls Bucanero was calmed down
by Wagner who asked him to keep his head and said that taking a loss here would
hurt his chances in getting a rematch with Cthulhu in the future and that he'd best
get his priorities straight. The second fall started with Cthulhu and Mistico in the
ring and it ended with Cthulhu and Mistico in the ring, as the two where going spot
for spot with one another trying to out pace and out manuver each other. Mistico went
for a flying cross body block but Wagner and Bucanero grabbed his legs causing him to
fall face first on the mat, this allowed Cthulhu to lock in a reverse figure four
and cause Mistico, the tecnico team captain to tap out which scored the rudo team
the over all victory. Bucanero and Cthulhu where back to brawling after the match,
and probably would have gone at each other all night if they hadn't been taken out by
Mistico who hit a frog splash suicide dive on both men on the outside, leaving all
three men laying around the ring as the show went off the air.

A good show once again.  Note I don't have a lot of specific feedback yet as I'm still trying to get a grasp of who all the characters are.  I think it's a bad sign for me when even though you mentioned it after your last card, I can't remember who is real and who is created. :)  Cthulhu seems to be your stud though, and he looks stronger tonight.

Good card.  For some reason I really did Cthulhu already.  I can just pictures what his mask might look like and I want one of my own :)

Just for reference again

El Fuerza, Gran Fuerza, El Ganador, and Torres Poderoso are created tecnicos

Asesino, Ultimo Gringo, Jesus P. Estrada, and Cthulhu are created rudos

I'm glad that I'm succeeding in getting Cthulhu over without any talking, I think it would kill his gimmick to have him cutting promos and stuff. In my head his mask is crazy.
AzraelPosted on 08/11/06 at 03:47:22

Good opening match to establish Asesino. I've never really been a fan of Lizmark Jr, so to see someone beat him and be a jerk about it fills my heart with joy.

SILVER KING! Throwing him out there with the new guys helps establish them too. Even though a gimmick called Last American does seem kinda weird. But Silver King = ratings. Not as much as El Dandy, but still.

Surprising the rudos lost and in straights no less, but Olimpico comes out strong.

Cthulhu and Rey Bucanero's feud continues, but now Mistico's interjected himself as well. Hopefully, these wrestlers will meet in some combination in some singles matches.

Lizmark was a great pickup to enhance my future talent, as he really isn't super impressive himself, but is a solid worker. I've been a non-fan of his since his lame G1 appearences in New Japan which where not highly impressive.

Ultimo can also mean Ultimate...I'm not 100% fluent in spanish or anything, so if I'm wrong correct me. Anyway the idea is that he's the Ultimate Stereotypical Redneck Whiteguy...but with a mask. I'm a big fan of Silver King, sucks that he lost his mask recently.

I know it's super uncommon in lucha to have straight falls, but to have it never happen I think kinda kills the idea of a 2/3 falls match to me...statistically it has to happen sometimes. I just picked the winner in this match, I was kinda suprised to see Olimipico take both falls himself.

Cthulhu and Bucanero has surely not run it's course. Mistico did squash the crap out of them though...

Tecnicos? Rudos? Oh man, I've heard those terms before but buggered if I know what they mean. I SUCK at Spanish.
