CardsFlyinHighPosted on 07/26/06 at 23:05:57

WWA TV 9/6/05
LIVE FROM THE JAMES A RHODES ARENA IN AKRON, OHIO
ON THE FX CABLE NETWORK

The show starts with shots of the sold out crowd in the JAR Arena. The crowd is excited as this is the premier of the WWA on Live television on the FX Cable Network. The crowd's applause quickly turn to boos as the music of The Masterpiece begins to play.

CHRIS MASTERS VS CARLITO

This was the match we were supposed to see last week, although this time the ring was surrounded by ropes and not barbed wire.  Masters seemed much more willing to climb into the ring this week.  At least at first.  Masters started the ring match off on the offensive after blindsiding Carlito before the bell rang.  However, it didn't take Carlito long to turn the tides.  When Masters tried a powerslam, Carlito slipped down his back and gave him a back cracker.  Carlito made the mistake then of clotheslineing Masters over the top rope to the outside.  Then it seemed Masters had enough as instead of getting back into the ring, Masters walked straight to the back getting himself counted out.

Carlito defeated Chris Masters by countout in 0:05:55.

Before our next match, we get a greeting from our CEO Arn Anderson who comes out to a standing ovation from the crowd.

AA: First of all, I'd like to thank the FX Network for signing up to broadcast the WWA to millions of wrestling fans across the country.  The WWA got off to a great start at our kickoff party. I'm sure we're going to have an excellent television debut. And we are just going to keep things rolling.  Soon we will crown the first champions of the WWA.  We will have a World Heavyweight Champion, A United States Champion, A World Television Champion, and the first title that will be decided, will be the WWA World Tag Team Champions.

At the sound of that, immediately the theme for the Impact Players comes on and Lance Storm and Justin Credible make there way to the ring.

STORM:  Mr. Anderson.  Let me say first you have been doing a great job leading us.  And I know I speak from Justin, that, we are honored you want to award us, The first ever tag team titles.

CREDIBLE: We will make you proud Mr. Anderson. We will become the greatest Tag Champions the sport of Wrestling has ever seen.  So just hand us the belts, and we wont let you down.

AA:  No I don't think you guys get it. I'm not handing anything to you two. In fact, I am scheduling a tournament.

STORM: No sweat. No one can beat us.

AA:  Well I'm afraid you two still don't get it.  You two will be in the tournament.  But in fact, this will not be an ordinary tournament.  This will be, a Lethal Lottery Tournament!!!  Your two names will be in with 30 other superstars.  We will draw out 16 teams. And that will make up the tournament.

Storm and Credible are irate in the ring.

AA: The first two rounds will be held in two weeks at a special Saturday Night event.  The semifinals, and Finals, will be held at the end of the month, at WWA's Night of Champions!!  But I'm going to give you one more match together, get ready, you two got a match right now!! Your opponents, Raven, and Mike Knox.

The Impact Players are throwing a severe temper tantrum in the ring as Raven and Mike Knox hit the ring.
THE IMPACT PLAYERS VS RAVEN & MIKE KNOX W/ KELLY

Raven and Knox were able to jump off a quick start using the element of surprise to their advantage, easily clearing the ring.  Storm and Credible were able to regroup, for a moment putting behind them what they just heard.  Once they got back in the ring, Storm and Credible gained the advantage over Knox. Knox was able to make the hot tag to Raven who started cleaning house.  He had Credible set up for a DDT, but somehow, it got turned into a crucifix and Credible got the pin.

The Impact Players (Lance Storm and Justin Credible) defeated
Mike Knox and Raven when Credible pinned Raven after a crucifix in 0:11:39.

After the match, Storm and Credible made their way to the back, there joy of the win dampened by the news of the Lethal Lottery.

Knox was pretty upset for the loss, but for some reason he directed his frustrations at his girlfriend Kelly, screaming at her for not helping out.

After a commercial break, Shelton Benjamin stormed to the ring and grabbed a mic.

SB:  Okay listen up.  Last week, I was all set to take my place among the elite of this fed, when I was savagely attacked from behind, by the coward that wants to call himself, The Franchise, Shane Douglas.  Shane, if you want a piece of me, come on right now and lets do this.

SHELTON BENJAMIN VS SHANE DOUGLAS

Shelton seemed a little overeager to get revenge.  He hit Douglas with a couple good moves early, then tried to go for the Stinger Splash in the corner, but Douglas moved and Benjamin caught turnbuckle. After a few minutes of Douglas in control, Benjamin caught him with a leg lariat sending Douglas all the way to the floor. Shelton chased Douglas to the floor, not seeing Douglas grabbing a chair from under the ring apron.  He saw it as soon as the Franchise caught him right in between the eyes with it.  Douglas got DQed but that didn't stop him from relentlessly pounding Benjamin with the chair.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Shane Douglas by disqualification in 0:10:13.

Benjamin didn't get the revenge he was looking for, but he wasn't the only one seeking it.  Matt Hardy was in CEO Anderson's office asking for another match with his brother.  Anderson was amazed Matt was able to make it to the show after being carried away on a stretcher last week.  Anderson granted him the match, but said it would have to be , a first blood match.

FIRST BLOOD MATCH:
MATT HARDY VS JEFF HARDY

You would think it would take a while for a first blood match to reach its climax, but not when these two battling brothers are involved.  They each came to the ring with chairs and quickly began pounding each other.  Jeff Hardy got the better of the chair war, and tried to end it quickly when he put Matt up on a table and tried to piledrive him through it.  Matt was able to reverse it and back drop him off the table.  Matt then put the table up in the corner and sent Jeff head first through it drawing first blood.

First Blood Match:
Matt Hardy defeated Jeff Hardy in 0:03:23.

SABU VS TAZ

This match really did not live up to what it was hyped to be.  Sabu kept the momentum building from his win last week.  Taz showed a lot of ring rust, hopefully he'll be better in future weeks.

Sabu defeated Taz via pinfall in 0:06:33.
Rating: * 3/4

THE BIG SHOW VS RANDY ORTON
This match was made after Orton got chokeslammed through the announce table last week.  The legend killer gave it his all. Even at one point knocking the big man off his feet. He even had the Big Show set up for the RKO but when he tried to hit it, Big Show caught him and through him over the top rope sending him crashing to the floor.  The Big Show's buddy Edge was there to roll Orton back into the ring, allowing the Big Show to choke slam him for the win.

The Big Show pinned Randy Orton with the Choke Slam in 0:09:22.
Rating: ** 3/4

After the match was over, The Big show didn't have enough, as Edge came into the ring and the double team started.  At that point, Shawn Michaels came running down to the aid of Orton, catching Edge with Sweet Chin Music, Orton recovered and went back after The Big Show, and the cameras fade out with all 4 men battling in the ring.

Alright start to the show.  I think I would've liked to see a clean finish as the opening to your debut show, but at least you seem to be progressing Masters' character with his actions.

Knox and Raven seem like odd bedfellows, but then again, not bad fodder for the Impact Players.

Sure didn't take long for Matt to bust brother Jeff open here tonight.  Putting Matt over Jeff.  Just as it should be ;)  At least in my opinion. haha ;D

Not what I would've expected out of a Sabu/Taz match up.  Taz is gonna need to kick it up a notch if he wants to get back his glory days.

Good way to end the show.  The right man went over.  You need to establish a guy like Big Show early on in your circuit because it'll pay off big time later on for you.

Good showing.  I look forward to reading more. :)
