New ACTUAL TNM CIRCUIT!

AnubisPosted on 07/19/06 at 00:01:34

That's right, after much deliberating, I have decided to install my TNM 7 once again and dive back into the world of TNM Ciruitry!

Okay, that sounded weird, but bottom line is, sometimes you're in the mood for a business sim, but sometimes you're in the mood for a wrestling sim.  Lately I've just had the urge.  I think it's because in TNM 7, I won't be limited by things like broken down bodies and age and money and other such stuff.  TNM 7 allows more freedom, and I think that's what I need right now.  That and I do like posting my work, and I figured you all are probably tired of TEW2004 stuff at this point, hahaha!

Anyway, enough of that.  Here are the details.

  • I have yet to decide if I want to run the uber-fantasy circuit I discussed before.  If I do, I do, if I don't, I don't.  I'll decide later.  If so, though, I will have a storyline to explain it.
  • There will be real and fictional wrestlers in it.  I hope people who don't like fictional wrestlers will just accept it and still give the circuit a chance, but if not, your loss.
  • I want the circuit to be interactive.  This isn't a requirement really, but it is something I would like.  I know I'm not the most popular guy around here, but can we get past all the nonsense for at least just the circuit?
  • To explain it being interactive better, it's not that people will make booking decisions or anything, just that occasionally I'll ask people to maybe vote on someone new to recruit or someone to get a title shot, simple stuff like that.  Nothing too big.  Just for fun, really.
  • Not sure when it'll begin, but I hope I can get my own sub-forum here for it.  How would I go about that?  Just ask Snabbit or something?

Anyway, that's the early detailing.  More to come.
AnubisPosted on 07/19/06 at 02:16:48

Okay, first thing I'd like to do is have you guys pick five real wrestlers for me to hire. The starting roster will consist of five fictional guys, five real wrestlers picked by myself, and five real wrestlers picked by the community. Each person gets one pick, and the first five are the winners.

The only requirement is that the wrestler had to be active in the business as of July of 1999.

EDIT: Almost forgot, it'd be great if you would provide the export of whomever you pick, or link to the export, if there isn't one on the web site already.
CarlzillaPosted on 07/19/06 at 07:49:07

I'm going to go with Delirious because he...you know, rules and stuff.

I think he's on TNM UK
http://uk.geocities.com/big_shootah2004/TPI2005.zip

he's in that pack.
that was my original pick, unfortunatly I misunderstoond the guidelines and my choice was not valid. Now I get to pick again...yay me!

Anyway, since I know how much everyone loves the garbage wrestling, I'm gonna pick Nick Mondo...because Mondo is awesome and despite being a high-spot, big bump machine he's still one of my favorites.
Snabbit888Posted on 07/19/06 at 08:01:00

The Big Show :)

It's not completely a smart ass pick.  Since you're not a huge proponent of him, I'm interested to see how you think he should be booked.

Was he actually active as of July of 1999? I don't know much about him, so I figured I should ask. I was under the impression he made his debut in TNA or ROH, but I could be wrong. If he was active then, great, because he does seem like an interesting character, otherwise go ahead and pick another; your pick will be reserved.

Just so everyone knows, the reason for the time restriction (yes, wrestlers who died between 1999 and the present are valid choices) is because I'm starting the circuit in July of 1999, and at first at least, I'm gonna keep with the actual real-life timeline (this, of course, is subject to change if I go in the uber-fantasy direction, which is highly likely to some extent).
phudjiePosted on 07/19/06 at 10:41:13

hey - looks like I get a pick - I choose for you - "Showtime" Eric Young
SockoPosted on 07/19/06 at 13:08:09

I pick "Gentleman" Chris Adams.

- In '99 he was pretty much jobbing to the WCW midcard, but he brings with him bags of experience (being in his 40's at that point), a solid in-ring game, and a little variety.
HugeRockStar760Posted on 07/19/06 at 17:12:33

Anubis, don't take this the wrong way, but this thread is similar to what the famed SuperstarJimiC used to do. He always asked us what we wanted instead of doing what he wanted and actually releasing some card results.

I would never ask other posters here to help me book a card or for what wrestlers to hire. That's no offense to them, it's just that everyone has their own opinion on what is good and what is not. I'd rather just rely on my opinion, and go from there. Otherwise, it's not my circuit, it's their circuit. What's the point to a circuit if you're not showing your booking skills and what interests you?
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/20/06 at 00:40:29

I have done the interactive circuit thing, and it was a less than stellar performance, mainly because at the time I had a loyal realm of 5 readers.  And usually only 2 or 3 would reply to the question asked in each card, thusly making the interactive portion almost worthless.

That being said, if I would have done something similar with BCW or CW, then I am guessing I would have had an insanely larger number of voters.  As it stands, I say book for yourself, and if it pleases you great, and if other people enjoy your work, even better.  If I listened to others around here, I would never have made a certain rules set.  ;)
Perverted_IconPosted on 07/20/06 at 00:41:47

Erik Watts MUST be in your circuit.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/20/06 at 00:47:12

and if watts is in it, Chad Fortune must be in it as well...

go Tekno Team 2000!
kurropt_antagonistPosted on 07/20/06 at 17:51:22

Stevie Richards.

Hey, every fed needs a jobber.  Even a talented one like Richards.   >:(
TrancePosted on 07/21/06 at 02:57:15

Sounds cool and am looking forward to see what happens

ETA: I pick Owen Hart (can't recall if he died before or after 1999)

Snabbit888Posted on 07/21/06 at 07:36:19

He died May 1999, so I don't believe he's eligible.
rey619Posted on 07/21/06 at 15:55:54

Sting

I think you may be right.

In that case, I pick Bret Hart
AnubisPosted on 07/22/06 at 03:12:08

A couple of things.  First off, sorry if it seemed like I disappeared.  I'm out of town until Sunday, and am just now getting around to accessing all my message boards and stuff (at least the ones with passwords I can remember LOL), so bear with me.  I'm glad I did, though, as it gave plenty of time for replies here!

Anyway, second thing, thanks for all the replies.  For all the picks beyonjd five, I think I'll alternate back and forth when picking new people to hire between my picks and the rest of the ones offered here until they're all hired.  That said, here is the order it looks like people will be coming in:

Initial Five:
1. Nick Mondo
2. The Big Show
3. Eric Young
4. Chris Adams
5. Erik Watts

Comments on these . . . Well, I'm sure I've heard of Nick Mondo, but can't quite place him at the moment.  As for The Big Show, well, I knew I could get people that I don't necessarily like when I asked, but it's all good, we'll see what I can do with the big lug.  Eric Young, Chris Adams, and Erik Watts, I love those picks, I like all three wrestlers myself (so sad that Adams passed away way before his time, I always thought he was pretty cool).  So thanks for the picks, guys!

The rest will come in in the following order:

6. Chad Fortune
7. Stevie Richards
8. Bret Hart
9. Sting

Now for a response . . .

This circuit isn't gonna be like all interactive all the time.  As Rick Garrard mentioned, that would be a recipe for disaster, or at least it would seem kinda pointless.  I just figured that every once in a while, I could stick interactive portions into it as far as some recruits go and such; the booking will pretty much be all my own, although I may take a poll as to "Dream Match" stuff or "Title Shot" stuff once in a blue moon (although even then that won't happen very often, it will be pretty much all my own).

I just think that given all the debates I regularly participate in, for this instance it might be nice to add something more positive in nature to the community (as opposed to critiques of a certain Vince's booking ability or lack thereof); just my way of doing something cool with the people around here.  Don't worry, it won't be such a regular occurance that it will get old or annoying, I assure you.

Aside from that, most of the interactive nature will be me assessing the comments I do actually get (don't worry, I'm not expecting a ton of comments either, I've learned my lesson on that) and maybe doing a little bit of tweaking.  Believe me, the stuff that I do like in my circuit won't be subject to change, but stuff that I can work any number of ways that I can enjoy any which way, you know, why not?

Thanks again, everyone!  I'll be getting started with the circuit once I get home on Sunday and get the exports downloaded.

There's a Nick Mondo tribute video, sorry about the music...I swear it wasn't my choice. Essentially he's a spot machine, with a tiny bit of actual wrestling ability...he also takes some of craziest/stupidest bumps of all time (Weedwhacker to the stomach, being thrown off of a 2 story building, etc.).

AnubisPosted on 07/24/06 at 10:05:39

Anyone know where I can get the Chad Fortune export?  If not, he's gonna be crossed off the "hire" list.

LOL. I don't think you will ever have to apoligize for that.

I pick chris masters, the real king of old school.
