UW Fury (6/5/06)

MatteusPosted on 07/04/06 at 00:46:18

Welcome everyone to the FedEx Forum! We're coming to you from Memphis, Tennessee and tonight is sure to be a big night of Unlimited! Wrestling action! Our main event tonight is the final Kingdom Come Qualifier as well as a Top Contenders match for a shot at Triple H and the World title! Booker T will try to exact his revenge against Randy Orton for costing him the World title at F'N Fury, but the Legend Killer wants to finish off Triple H and take his title. To do so, they'll have to win what is sure to be a brutal steel cage match tonight! Also, Team Canada's feud with Edge and Teddy Hart continues as Eric Young takes on the Rated R Superstar! And there will be an announcement regarding the Top Contendership to MNM's World Tag Team titles! Let's get right to the action!

UW Fury (June 5, 2006)

"The Juice" Orlando Jordan vs. Gregory Shane Helms

After last week's tag team match involving Generation Next, OJ was beat down by Shelley, Aries, and Helms. The Juice demanded a rematch with the leader of Gen Next and his request was granted by Matteus, as these two kicked off Fury this week and had quite a good match. Helms came in quite arrogant against The Juice, especially as it was recently announced that Monty Brown had been served a two-week suspension for no-showing last week's event, and his overconfidence turned out to be costly as Helms was physically dominated by the larger Jordan. This didn't last for too long, however, as Helms raked him in the eyes and started working over the back of OJ, taking away his ability to lift Helms anymore it would seem. Helms soon went for the Shining Wizard, and missed! The Juice started slapping the face of Helms a la The Rock, and nailed the final punch before trying to lift him for a cradle suplex, but wasn't able to do it as he tweaked his back trying. Helms prepped to try the Shining Wizard when "Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed played and the crowd went nuts! Helms froze and watched the entrance ramp, waiting for Monty Brown, but no one came out! The music stopped playing and Helms turned around, but The Juice was ready for him and he hit got nailed with the Black Ice! The ref counted the fall and gave OJ the victory!

Orlando Jordan pinned Gregory Shane Helms with the Black Ice in 0:11:14.
Rating: *** 3/4

No one can say who played that music, but Orlando Jordan definitely took advantage of the distraction and got himself a big win over the leader of Gen Next! Helms was furious and pointed to the sound box, demanding to know who did it, but got no response. The mind games are starting in full effect, as The Alpha Male has vowed to face Helms one-on-one despite losing to Austin Aries two weeks ago at F'N Fury.

"Can you dig it, SUCKA?!" Booker T came out and started calling out Randy Orton. He said that he may have beaten John Cena last week, and while that was impressive, John Cena is not a 5-TIME... World champion. Booker T is, and he'll show the Legend Killer why later tonight when he beats him in the steel cage hanging above. But it's not going to be a wrestling match... see Orton cost him the World title at F'N Fury. So tonight, he'll show him how tough a man from Houston really is, and Orton is going to be the one wearing a crimson mask tonight. And then, at Kingdom Come, he's going after Triple H. A man who has never pinned him in UW competition, and that will continue June 24th. Because at Kingdom Come, he wants Triple H one-on-one and he will fulfill his destiny by winning the World title! The crowd roared in response and we cut to a commercial...

Johnny Nitro, Joey Mercury, and Melina were in Matteus' office and they wanted to know who the Top Contenders are to their belts, seeing as it couldn't possibly be Limited Edition. They laughed until Matteus told them that there would be a Top Contenders match later tonight as Petey Williams and Bobby Roode of Team Canada went at it with a team that's been on a roll as of late, Major League! MNM didn't look as confident as before, but wanted assurance that Dinsmore and Conway would be kept away from any and all of their title defenses. Matteus said he promised nothing, but Limited Edition would be punished accordingly if they do anything uncalled for.

"Straight Up" Mikey Batts vs. Chavo (w/ Sean O'Haire)

Once good friends, Chavo and Mikey Batts have gone n distinctly separate directions as of late. Mikey Batts has seemingly remained stable (albeit sterile) in his state of mind and attitude but Chavo has recently renounced his name, his heritage, and the fans, aligning himself with the extremely dangerous Sean O'Haire. Chavo was uncharacteristically smug and harmful here, slapping Batts around and trying to hurt him! Batts was obviously no match for Chavo's new mean streak, and with Sean O'Haire watching on approvingly, Chavo put Mikey away with a cross body press.

Chavo Guerrero pinned Mikey Batts after a flying cross body press in 0:06:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

O'Haire raised Chavo's arm in victory, but he wasn't through. Sean directed Chavo to continue the beatdown of Mikey Batts, and Chavo obliged happily, picking up Batts and dropping him with a Gory Bomb! They looked poised to deliver more damage when "What Up Gangsta" by 50 Cent blared across the arena and the North American champion rushed to the ring! O'Haire and Chavo ducked out as Shelton leaned over Mikey Batts. Shelton's ribs were taped heavily after the beating he took at F'N Fury. He told them that they hadn't finished with him by a longshot, and if they wanted to do a two-on-one beatdown, he'd give them the chance to try next week! Because he wants both of them in a handicap match! O'Haire and Chavo laughed and nodded their approval, but Shelton warned them that they'd set a raging bull loose, and next week they're getting the horns!

Backstage, Josh Mathews caught up with Team Canada's Petey Williams. Petey said that for the past year, Edge has been a thorn in his side and it all comes from Edge's jealousy and his inability to let someone else take the spotlight. He cost him a chance to be ROH World champion and got them both kicked out of Ring of Honor for not adhering to the Code of Honor. But last week was the final straw, as Edge cost him a chance to become King when he interfered in his match with JBL. Edge's days are numbered, and he guarantees that Edge will not make it out of Kingdom Come as the King. Edge passed by and started to taunt him, saying he was a no-talent nobody, but the UW Squad was able to get involved before a fight broke out backstage.

Limited Edition vs. Generation Next (Shelley & Aries)

Dinsmore and Conway walked into this match with more to prove than perhaps ever before, as they still consider themselves the best tag team in UW but don't have the chance to prove it against MNM, at least not with the titles on the line. Gen Next started strong, showing some impressive teamwork as they worked over Rob Conway to start the match, but as soon as the Ironman started to gain some momentum, he sent Aries and Shelley reeling, tossing Shelley over the ropes and press slamming Austin to the mat. He made the tag and Dinsmore was all over Aries, nailing him with punches before grounding him with his mat wrestling skills. Aries reversed a whip and Shelley nailed Dinsmore in the back, allowing Aries to nail him with a clothesline. Aries and Shelley tried to put him away with the Hart Attack, but Conway broke the pin and all we had our Bonzo Gonzo Moment of the Night (brought to you this week by Adidas) with Limited Edition getting the upper hand. Dinsmore recovered and hit a fisherman suplex on Shelley for the pinfall.

Limited Edition (Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway) defeated
Generation Next (Alex Shelley and Austin Aries) when Dinsmore pinned A. Shelley
after a fisherman suplex in 0:07:05.
Rating: ****

A very impressive victory for Dinsmore and Conway, as they continue to work their way back up the tag team rankings here in UW. Unfortunately, until MNM loses the tag team titles their victories will come in vain as they still cannot claim a title shot. Gen Next was impressive in the loss, but they have some way to go before they can consider themselves serious contenders to the gold.

Backstage, Randy Orton was alone in the locker room clutching a steel pipe. He said that a steel cage is nothing more than many steel pipes welded together into a weapon of destructive force. Last week, he showed Booker T he was better than him when he beat John Cena, a man who's beaten Booker before, clean, 1-2-3. Tonight, he'll prove once again that he's better than Booker T. He's a Legend Killer, but Booker T's legend died years ago. And at Kingdom Come, he's going to finish what he started one year ago. He smacked the pipe against a locker and said he's going to end The Game.

"Showtime" Eric Young vs. "The Rated R Superstar" Edge

Edge has pushed and pushed Team Canada, and thus far he and Teddy Hart have really yet to pay for their actions, staying one step ahead of Team Canada at every turn. Even though they lost to Roode and Young at F'N Fury, they still managed to beat them down afterwards before Petey Williams made the save. Young came out on fire tonight and tackled Edge to start the match. Eric fought very uncharacteristically for the beginning of this match, staying away from the technical wrestling he's so good at and instead brawling with the Rated R Superstar. It worked at first, but Edge is much more adjusted to a brawling atmosphere and soon took control. After some fighting outside, Edge brought him back in and hit the C.O.D. for two and a half. Young started fighting back soon thereafter, but Edge was able to duck a flying clothesline attempt and bounced off the ropes, hitting Showtime with a Spear! The ref counted the fall and Edge had taken one cleanly!

Edge pinned Eric Young with the Spear in 0:13:22.
Rating: ***

Surprise of surprises that Edge would actually defeat Eric Young without the help of outside interference! Young simply found himself out of his environment when he tried to brawl with the Rated R Superstar, and he paid the price as a result.

Backstage, Josh Mathews announced that next week a match had been signed next week between long-time rivals John Cena and John Bradshaw Layfield! He welcomed JBL to the interview area and JBL said that this is a long time coming for the Doctor of Thuganomics. Cena has been a pain in his ass for too long now, and when he interfered in his match with his former employee Orlando Jordan several weeks ago, JBL vowed revenge. And Layfield promised to exact his revenge, but not next week. Next week is a prelude to the apocalypse. But Cena's days are numbered, you can count on that. JBL wringed his hands and snickered as he walked away, leaving Mathews more than a little unsettled.

Top Contenders Match:
Team Canada (Roode & Williams) vs. Major League

One month ago, Steven Richards and Sonny Siaki were singles competitors with no direction, but since teaming up, they've been given a purpose. And despite their poor start, Major League has been rolling as of late and found themselves a win away from earning a chance at the World Tag Team titles! But when Team Canada is a team, they've proved to be nearly unstoppable and the Enforcer and Petey Williams were on top of things tonight, controlling the tempo for most of the match until Siaki interfered against Petey Williams and allowed Richards to roll him up for the two count. Richards nearly hit the Stevie-T, but Team Canada's leader turned it into a Northern Lights suplex, which Siaki broke the pinfall attempt on. Roode was tagged in, but he was soon double-teamed and had to tag Petey back in. Unfortunately for Major League, they didn't count on Brian Kendrick racing down to ringside and distracting Siaki while Williams recovered. Sonny started jawing with him, but Paul London came over and started attacking Steven Richards! With Siaki distracted and chasing him down, Williams regained his composure and grabbed Siaki, nailing him with the Canadian Destroyer! He hooked his leg and the ref counted: one... two... Richards tried to make the save, but was cut off by Bobby Roode, three!

Team Canada are the Top Contenders! Williams and Roode will be the next to challenge MNM for the tag belts! They celebrated up the ramp, but in the ring a dejected and angry Major League team was fuming. Richards grabbed the mic as Siaki recovered, still holding onto his neck and head. Richards said that enough is enough and they're tired of facing weak competition week in and week out from those no good punks London and Kendrick. He said that it's time for them to settle the score. Siaki grabbed the mic and started shouting that he wanted those two in a tag team match in two weeks, but this match would be a Top Contenders match. And he and Richards wanted no count-outs, no DQs, and falls count anywhere! The fans popped huge for this, but no response yet from Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Hopefully we'll find out next week!

Next week on Fury! In a preview of what could come at Kingdom Come, two bitter rivals will attempt to tear one another apart in what we're now being told is to be a Hardcore match! John Cena and JBL go head-to-head next week! Also, the North American champion may be in over his head, but he wants Sean O'Haire and Chavo in a handicap match and he'll get them next week! And just signed, Team Canada will step into the ring for six-man tag team action as they take on the crazed "X-Rated" Teddy Hart and the World tag team champions MNM! With Petey Williams and Bobby Roode now the Top Contenders to the tag team titles, how will MNM react next week? All this and more, so tune in next week!

Top Contenders & Kingdom Come Qualifying Cage Match
Booker T vs. "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton

No love lost here, and they tore into one another from the very beginning. One of these men would face Triple H for the World title at Kingdom Come, and both want to get their hands on The Game and his world championship. These two are quite evenly matched, and this one was back and forth for the most part until Orton took control toward the 8-minute mark and tried to wear down Booker with rest holds. Booker fought out, but Randy leveled him with forearm shots to the throat before dropping him throat first across the top rope. Orton posed for the crowd before going back on the attack, taking him and tossing him face-first into the cage! Booker looked to be in bad shape, but when Orton tried to do it again, Booker stopped him and tossed him into the cage face-first instead! He grabbed Orton and threw his head into the cage on the other side, and then tossed his entire body into the cage across the ring again! Booker T was on fire and hit Orton with a sidekick and went for the pin but only got two. Booker hit a kneedrop and picked him up for scoop slam, but Orton hooked a small package: one... two... kickout! Booker and Orton got back up and Orton went for the RKO, but Booker pushed him to the turnbuckle! Orton hit his chest and doubled over in pain and Booker went for the Scissor Kick, but Orton moved and hit the RKO out of nowhere! Orton covered him and the ref counted: one... two... thr-kickout! Booker kicked out and Orton was shocked! Orton tried for another cover but again got two. Finally,, he'd had enough and started trying to climb out of the cage. He was almost at the top, but Booker got up and grabbed his ankle! Booker went for a Book End from the top rope and nailed it! Both men were out of it as Booker went for the cover: one... two... "Behold the King... the King of Kings". The ref stopped the count and out came the UW World champion Triple H! Booker T stood up as Triple H walked down to the ring, sledgehammer in hand. Trips stepped into the cage and Booker and he started jawing. Book told him to get going, but Hunter stood his ground. As they stared one another down, Randy started to get back up. With all three men to their feet, Hunter reared back with the sledgehammer, and smacked Booker T in the head with it! Hunter then turned to Orton, and Orton curried away, climbing up the cage and dropping to the floor! The bell rang and this match was over!\

Number-One-Contenders-Cage Match:
Randy Orton defeated Booker T by escaping the cage in 0:16:17.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Triple H interfered against Booker T.]

What the... Triple H cost Booker T a shot at the world title, and in the process helped his worst enemy get a title shot! Orton scrambled away from the ring, unable to stand. Triple H slowly stalked his prey to the backstage area, then posed triumphantly atop the entrance ramp with the sledgehammer and world title belt as the show faded to black...

-I've always loved how you write this out. I would do all of this, but I'm just to lazy...

-I love the "fake interference" gigs, it appears they work out everytime. I like the Gen-Next/Brown thing you've got going on.

-oOo---Booker T getting all serious. He actaully WANTS to wrestle in your promotion... unlike real life where he never EVER wants to wrestle. Once again, making the forums that much more enjoyable.

-OH SHIT! M(MERCURY)N(NITRO)M(MELINA)... I never ever realized that. Damn am I dumb. :P

-Keep on pushing Chavo, make a name of the Guererro lega--- oh. Thats right... make a name out of the "CHAVO" legacy. I always saw him as at least, part of a storyline. And you seem to be doing a damn good job of that.

-omg, you have no idea how much MORE that Williams/Edge promo got me into the feud... you wrote this segment out really well, i would like to commend you for that.

-Limited Edition with a clean win... any other way they could win? They are puuuure talent baby, yeah.

-Orton playin' mind games bringing up the past, fuckin with Bookers head a lil bit... ;D good shit.

-YEAH! "CENA SUCK DICK! [CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP]...sorry. Rootin' on for JBL here, I cant stand Cena.

-Nice ending here, and I knew Orton couldn't pull off a clean win 2 weeks in a row... (I think it was 2 weeks).

-You got me stoked for Kingdom Come, and theres 2 more shows til'... hurrry up and post em!!! lol

Sorry, bro. I simply had to. ;)

Ooh... mind games.  This thing with Brown and Gen Next is going to have to be settled soon, but it's cool to see OJ get a win.

Booker T is confident, which probably means he's losing. :)

Limited Edition better not screw MNM, or so help me...

No chance Mikey Batts was going to win that match.  The angle with Chavo/O'Haire is just getting going.  Benjamin comes out for a little revenge, but with injured ribs, taking on a handicap match next week could be ill advised.

Limited Edition gets a nice win, but I have a feeling it will be a long time before they're getting a shot at the tag titles.  Which is all right by me as MNM rules... oh so hard.

Intense promo from Randy Orton.  I like his chances in the main event.

Edge gets the win which was expected, but the match ran a little long, methinks.

Major League had to lose.  Poor guys.  With MNM being heel champions, face challengers had to be found.  I like Petey and Bobby Roode though, so no complaints from me.

I like HHH helping Orton win, because his main beef is with him.  Even if HHH wants revenge on Orton, I can't imagine Booker T taking this lying down.

PPV is looking good, my friend.
