GLWF Action TV: 8/20/05...

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and we've got a packed house for Action TV tonight everyone!  Let's get down to the ring and kick tonight off with a good ol' fashion bullrope match!

Bullrope Match: Raven vs. "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade

This match started off slow with a lot of testing the waters and trying to get used to working with a big rope attached to them.  The match entailed a lot of brawling and use of the rope, but it was about what was to be expected from this match and the fans seemed to really get into it.  Cade was busted open early after Raven hit him with three consecutive cowbell shots, dropping him on the third.  Raven seemed more concerned with putting the hurt on Cade, while on the few occasions Raven seemed to be out of it, Cade would actually slap the turnbuckles in an attempt to win the match, but would come up short.  Raven tried for the Raven Effect, but Cade, with a handful of bullrope, shoved him off.  Raven came back with a clothesline, but Cade ducked and quickly looped the bullrope around Raven's neck!  Cade is choking Raven with the bullrope!  Cade pushes Raven away.  Raven turns around trying to unwrap the rope from his neck and turns right into a Superkick!  Cade makes sure the rope is nice and tight around Raven's neck and drags him around the ring as he touches all four corners and gets the win!

Bullrope Match:
H.B. Cade defeated Raven in 0:10:23.
Rating: **** 1/4

Loser Leaves GLWF Match: "The Anarchist" Doug Williams vs. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

Before the match starts Williams asks for a microphone.  He says tonight he and Danielson end things once and for all.  And just to make sure that statement holds true and Danielson doesn't try and bitch and whine his way into yet another re-match (this elicits a nice round of boos from the crowd) Williams wants to make this match for pinkslips, in other words the Anarchist wants to make tonight's match loser leave GLWF!  Danielson seems a little hesitant at first.  He's not afraid of losing a fair fight if he's not the better man that night, but to lose his job completely is another story.  He looks to the fans for approval, which they of course give him and finally he tells Williams that he's got a deal.  The two shakes hands which leads into a big opening clothesline from Williams to kick off the match.

The two have some nice chain wrestling to kick things off.  Pretty even in the opening minutes, then slowly but surely each exchange ends in favor of Williams.  Danielson gets his moment in during the match for sure and doesn't look bad by any definition of the word, but Williams seems to not only have brought his A game, but his double A game.  The "wrestling gods" are just on the Anarchist's side tonight it would seem.  At one point they headed to the outside of the ring Danielson went for a german suplex, but Williams flipped out of it and tried for a clothesline, but Danielson dodged the attempt and sent Williams into the corner post hard.  Danielson set up a table on the outside and set Williams up on it.  AmDrag got up on the apron, but before he could pull off any moves Williams got up and joined him on the apron.   The two exchanged punches, elbows and forearms until Williams got the better of him.  Williams dragged a dazed Danielson over to the turnbuckle and the Anarchist proceeded to climb to the second turnbuckle and place Danielson in a front face lock... Revolution DDT off the apron through the table!  It looks like both men are hurt after that, but Danielson seems to have caught the worst of it and the blood is already starting to seep from a newly opened wound on his forehead!  Williams, once regaining his bearings rolled Danielson back into the ring and tried for a pin... but kick out at two!  Williams kept control of Danielson despite his own obvious fatigue and pain as AmDrag seemed to be holding on by a thread, but he damn well was holding onto that thread for dear life as he knew that a three count or a submission meant bye-bye job.  Williams signaled for the end of the match and pushed Danielson into the corner, pulling him back in the reverse rolling cradle, usually followed by a german suplex, which he all together calls the Chaos Theory, but when they came back up for the german suplex Danielson like a bolt of lightning whipped around behind Williams and hit a huge Dragon suplex!  Both wrestlers shoulders are on the mat as the ref starts the count... one... two... Danielson lifts his shoulders!  Three!  Danielson wins and Williams is now out of the GLWF!

Loser-Leaves-GLWF Match:
Bryan Danielson pinned Doug Williams after a dragon suplex in 0:21:20.

Main Event: Samoa Joe, "The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill, & Gunner Scott vs. The Age of Shane ("The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane, Austin Aries, & Paul Burchill) w/ Traci Brooks

Shane had their muscle Burchill start off the match and he started off against Gunner Scott, who actually managed to hold his own against Burchill better than most thanks to not letting himself get caught with Burchill's powerful offense much.  All six men put on a great showing in this match, though Shane tended to not allow himself into the match unless the man opposite him had already been softened up a bit, in which case he would demand to be tagged in so he could try and take the glory for himself.  Once a fresh face got the tag though, Shane was out quicker than a drunk girl's of boobs at Mardi gras.  Traci surprisingly didn't get involved in this match at all and just cheered her boys on.  Towards the end of the match Scott and Aries (the legal men) were on the inside wrestling, while on the outside Roadkill, after hitting a Dirt Road Slam to the concrete floor on Burchill, was stalking Michael Shane and Traci who were backing up and begging for mercy from Roadkill.  Shane & Traci, however, should've paid attention to exactly where they were going because they ended up backing right into a waiting Samoa Joe.  Who promptly grabbed Shane and grounded him right into the Kokina Clutch while Roadkill grabbed Traci and planted a big, wet, repressed sexually Amish kiss her on to her disgust.  Meanwhile in the ring Aries caught a gut full of Gunner's knees when attempting to hit his 450 Splash and Gunner tossed him almost across the diagonal length of the ring with his overhead belly-to-belly suplex for the three.

[Main Event]:
Samoa Joe, Gunner Scott and Roadkill defeated The Age of Shane (Michael Shane, Austin Aries and Paul Burchill) when Gunner pinned Aries with the Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex in 0:25:46.
Rating: **** 1/4

After Joe, Scott and Roadkill celebrated their victory and left Shane, Burchill, Aries and Traci were all in the ring.  Shane demanded a microphone and then also demanded to know what the hell happened.  He seemed to place the blame squarely on Burchill who is supposed to be their "insurance policy" of sorts.  Burchill tried to explain and apologize, but Shane wasn't having any of it.  He told Burchill that he was useless, that Shane had already found a replacement, and slapped him across the face.  The slap didn't sit well with Burchill who after about a second of seething anger knocked Shane on his ass with a hard right and left the ring.  Shane screamed over the microphone at Burchill as he went up the aisle that he was fired and that he'd never be seen in GLWF again.  At first this just seemed like big talk, but apparently Shane knew what he was talking about.  After GLWF had gained it's legs a bit, it's workers were offered written contracts instead of pay-per-appearance deals.  This happened behind closed doors about the same time as Shane and Burchill had formed their alliance.  Shane must've had his lawyer, who at that time was Burchill's as well, sneak a special stipulation into Burchill's contract to insure no backlash from Burchill in the event that in the future their relationship should take a turn for the worse.  Unfortunately for Burchill this stipulates that Shane holds the ability to terminate Burchill's contract with GLWF should he choose to do so.  It appears that Michael Shane will go to whatever lengths it takes to protect himself and his Heavyweight title.

What a night!  Doug Williams is out of the GLWF at the hands of Bryan Danielson, thanks to his own stipulation.  And Burchill is gone from GLWF as well, no forewarning, he's just gone thanks to Michael Shane and his never ending craftiness.  With Burchill gone from GLWF for good, this poses the question, who is Michael Shane's  replacement?   He said he's already got someone lined up, who on earth could this person be?  And speaking of Michael Shane and the heavyweight title, we've just gotten word that H.B. Cade, after his win tonight, is next in line for a title shot!  This means that he'll face the winner of next week's title match between Michael Shane and Ron Killings on the September 10th edition of Action TV.  Here's whats on tap for next week: Ernest Miller vs. Josh Abercrombie, Shannon Moore vs. Gran Akuma in what will be a tryout match for independent wrestler Gran Akuma, Harry Smith vs. Rene Dupree, the Destruction Crew will defend the tag team titles against Garza & Mistico of Los Corazones Negros and in the main event  Michael Shane will defend his Heavyweight title against Ron Killings, and without the help of Paul Burchill!  We'll see you next week right here at the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo for more GLWF Action TV!

Wow two exits in one night, I'm sure Williams is kicking himself all the way to the unemployment line :)

Cade looked good in his win over Raven. I'm sure Raven will have something to say about being draged around the ring by his neck.

Genius pure genius with the contract clause Who woulda thunk it. You work for me or you don't work. Wonder who the new guy is. Im sure Paul Burchill can find some type of loop hole and get back in... well hope he can. Good read.

Keep it up

The question remains though.. are Burchill and Williams completely gone? Or are they on their way to the big leagues (GCW)? A loser-leaves-town match is a common "excuse" in both DSW and OVW to bring a wrestler up to the WWE (not in the case of Johnny Parisi though).

Excellent write-ups, I especially liked the two comments in the main event, the one about Mardi Gras and then the sexually repressed Amish kiss  ;D
