The Bizz 2.0Posted on 06/22/06 at 23:25:26

(ECW.COM EXCLUSIVE):
[ECW Television Title Qualification Match]
Brent Albright made Billy Kidman submit to the Crowbar in 0:10:27.
Rating: *** 1/4

Match Recap- This was one hell of a match to warm up the crowd
for ECW on Sci-Fi tonight. It was even better for Brent Albright,
as he will step into the TV Title Tournament as one of the
competitors to capture ECW Gold!
--------------------

(ECW.COM EXCLUSIVE):
[ECW Television Title Qualification Match]
Steve Corino pinned Kid Kash with the Dragon Suplex in 0:12:47.
Rating: *** 1/4

Match Recap- Steve Corino finds his way into an ECW Ring
once again! He was not a force to reckon with back in the day,
former ECW Tag Team Champion, former ECW World Heavyweight
Champion, former NWA World Champion, the list can go on and
on. Tonight was no exception, as he beasted his way through
Kash in a dark match to earn a chance at ECW Gold once
again. But in order to do so, he will have to go through the
crazy rook, Brent Albright. (That match will take place
later tonight!) The winner of that match earns a spot to
compete at Heatwave, in the semi finals, and if they are
lucky enough, finals for the ECW TV Title.
--------------------

(ECW Opening Plays... but instead of going to Styles and:
Taz we go to a video of the Heatwave 2006 Press Confrence)
--------------------

The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) defeated:
Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke when L. Storm pinned Mamaluke after
a Northern Lights suplex in 0:07:21.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match Recap- The Impact Players will join Dead Rising on Sunday
in the four way dance! Impact Players want their gold back
around their waist, and didn't waste any time expressing
that tonight beating the FBI in 7 quick minutes! I'd like
to say FBI put up a fight, but there was no chance for them
to comeback.
--------------------

The Untouchables (Deuce Shade and Dice Domino) defeated:
The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney) when Domino
pinned A. Rotten after hitting him with the rollerskate in 0:13:14.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match Recap- Joining the Impact Players and Dead Rising at
Heatwave 2006 will be The Untouchables! THCSF have been on
a downhill spiral as of late, losing all of their tag team
matches together. After tonights match, Balls came into the
ring and looked at Axl in disbelief that they had lost
again. Balls shook his head and walked away from Axl, and
Axl followed Balls to the back.
--------------------

(ECW Quarterfinals TV Title Tournament Match):
Masato Tanaka pinned Aaron Stevens after a flying forearm in 0:18:41.
Rating: ** 3/4

Match Recap- Tanaka, the true hardcore veteran, had some trouble
breazing past Aaron Stevens. Stevens busted open Tanaka
early in the match, only to furiate Tanaka when he saw his
own blood. Aaron paid for it when he got hit with a stiff
flying forearm to the nose. Tanaka has earned his spot
at Heatwave in the Semi-Finals, and hopes to win gold.
-----------------------

(ECW Quarterfinals TV Title Tournament Match):
Ken Doane pinned Super Crazy with the Doane-nation in 0:09:37.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Tajiri interfered against Super Crazy.]

Match Recap- Super Crazy gave notice to Paul Heyman last week
saying how this card will be his last. His effort showed as
he wanted to win his last ECW match, but Ken Doane
shut Crazy's dream down, and pinned him with the help of
Tajiri's interference. Ken Doane showed dissapoitment in
the interference of Tajiri, but quickly got over it and
executed the Doane-nation for the win.
--------------------

(ECW Quarterfinals TV Title Tournament Match):
Brent Albright pinned Steve Corino after a T-Bone Suplex in 0:07:33.
Rating: ***

Match Recap- Brent Albright has the potential to become the
next big star here in ECW as he beat Corino tonight. Albright
has elevated himself, only to find out that he will be facing
Masato Tanaka, which looks to be a very interesting match.
Both are hungry for gold, and both will are willing to risk
their bodies for it.
--------------------

(Paul Heyman is in his office):

Paul Heyman- Last week, we witnessed one of the most dominant
performances in ECW history to date. Big Show not only defeated
the number one contender Kurt Angle, but also murdered our ECW
World Champion, Rob Van Dam! I would like to call out the man
who represents our promotion with the gold around his waist,
RVD!

(One of a Kind hits and out walks RVD with his title belt.)

Rob Van Dam- Now Paul, I just want to let you know that
Big Show didn't beat Kurt Angle by himself. He had some
help with Mr. Tuesday Night, ROB VAN DAM! (Shakes head
and smiles)

Paul Heyman- No need to remind me, because I remember.
I had an idea after Big Show defeated you a week ago.
I started thinking you know, big ideas, but I drowned
them out for your sake. Then. last Friday, when I saw
Big Show defeated Kurt Angle... that put the nail on the
coffin and my mind was made up! So at Heatwave...
its going to be the ECW World Champion, Rob Van Dam...
(RVD does the thumb pose and points to himself) yes that
is you, against Kurt Angle, and this man right here!

(Big Show's music hits and RVD's face runs to disbelief.
Big Show walks down to the ring and goes face to face
with Rob Van Dam. RVD extends his hand for a "good luck"
shake, but Big Show just tapped RVD's belt, saying that
it'll be his on Sunday. Show walks away and is at the
ramp when out of nowhere, from the crowd Kurt Angle
comes in and Angle Slams RVD in the ring! Show laughs
at RVD, and Angle grabs a microphone.)

Kurt Angle- Laugh it out now Show Because at Heatwave
those tears of laughter will turn to tears of pain,
complimentary of Kurt Angle's ANKLE LOCK! I made you tap
before Show, and I'm not afraid to do it again!

(Angle drops the mic and leaves through the crowd, avoiding
Show at the stage.)

(Screen fade, commercial)
--------------------

No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Roadkill pinned Da Beast with the Amish Bomb in 0:05:41.
Rating: **

Match Recap- Da Beast losing yet ANOTHER painful match to
Amish Roadkill. Roadkill won this match in a clean fashion,
knowing that if he brought weapons into the ring, he would
be finished.

(CM Punk is with Taz backstage):

Taz- I'm here with OVW's last Heavyweight Champion, and one
of ECW's newest superstars CM Punk. Now I know Punk that you
have a problem with how ECW Promotes their type of wrestling,
but don't you think that doing that is just rubbing some people
the wrong way?

CM Punk- Rubbing people the wrong way? No. I don't think anyone
should take offense to what I'm saying. But then you got someone
who takes their job way to seriously, Tommy Dreamer. He comes up
and tries to prove me wrong, that real wrestling is worse than
hardcore wrestling. Well let me tell you something Dreamer, the only
time you've accomplished taking me down was at week one, when you
caught me off guard! As for the rest of the times we've crossed
paths, I tossed your ass around from the ring to the exit, humiliating
you in front of your ECW fans. I'm here to show them that hardcore wrestling
isn't all its hyped up to be. Hardcore wrestling cannot change, it gets
boring after a while. But wrestling, technical, real wrestling evolves.
It's been changing over the years, and it won't stop for a while.
Theres one thing that gets in its way when we start to develop
new stars, a distraction that pulls them off their duties as a wrestler,
and puts them into the shoes of a stuntman. I know that when I step into the
ring this Sunday with Tommy Dreamer, its going to be bad. Bones will
be broken, and blood will be spilled. But by the end of the fight,
there will be no more Tommy Dreamer.
-----------------------

(ECW Quarterfinals TV Title Tournament Match):
Al Snow pinned Sabu with the Snow Plow in 0:16:29.
Rating: ***

Match Recap- Al Snow pulled one of the world's biggest upsets
tonight by beating the "Homicidal Genocial Suicidal" Sabu!
Al Snow finished the match off with his famous SNOW PLOW
through a barbed wire covered table. This usually doesn't
phase Sabu, but Al Snow put a hurt on him throughout the
match enough to shut Sabu down. Al Snow offered Sabu a handshake
after the win, but Sabu just walked away. After the match,
ECW.COM cought up with Sabu. Sabu stated that "Al Snow will
get what's coming to him, theres no way he can win
two matches in a row... he's been jobbing all of his
life". Al Snow has found a fire burning in his soul, urging
him to take ECW TV Gold, but he'll have to go through 2
other people to do so.

The fad as of late seems to be toward the Internet exclusive type matches. Not saying anything, just that it's an interesting trend and a cool way to do dark matches.

I love me some Brent Albright and Steve Corino qualifying for the TV title tournament. I like the fact that they have to wrestle later in the night... but it makes me wonder when these Internet matches are taking place. They can't be later than the show airs, otherwise you'll have qualifying matches taking place after like first round matches or something. So I'm guessing they're live on the net before the show?

The Impact Players are awesome. Justin Credible is always so worthless otherwise, but as a tag team I love 'em!

Masato Tanaka is so reat, but I can't wait for some of these guys to get more personality, b/c Aaron "The Idol" Stevens is a great character.

Ken Doane wins... again. Surprisingly, I'm not so unhappy. Maybe hes finally FINLLY growing on me? Too bad for Crazy though. So Tanaka and Kenny in the Semi's?

Looks like the theme of the night is using old ECW stars to put over new ECW stars... Corino loses to Brent Albright. But I'm a huge fan of both guys, so it all works out for me.

Awesome segment with those three guys over the World title. Can't wait for the three-way!

The CM Punk promo was golden. This feud is soooo good!

SNOW WINS!! SNOW WINS!! Albright vs. Snow is great, both were intertwined in OVW and both are awesome in the ring... so woooow's ;D! Awesome show, man!
