UW Fury (5/29/06)

MatteusPosted on 06/20/06 at 22:17:23

Sorry for the delay, life is getting hectic but I found time to do another show... and hopefully theyll follow more raidly after this. Anyway, I owe people feedback, and I'll get on that ASAP... that and the Roll Call ;) But for now...

Welcome everyone! We're just three days removed from F'N Fury and what a huge night it was! Triple H is still the World champion, but in more startling news, Randy Orton attacked afterwards and told the champ that it was he who donned a mask last July and attacked Triple H with a steel pipe, costing him the World title in the process! What consequences await Randy Orton tonight? And what will Booker T have to say about the Legend Killer costing him the title last Friday? MNM defeated Limited Editionat F'N Fury, and as a result Dinsmore and Conway will not get another title shot against MNM. What lays ahead for them? Gen Next got the last laugh against Monty Brown last Friday, but tonight he teams with "The Juice" Orlando Jordan to face Gen Next members Austin Aries and Alex Shelley! All this and JBL faces Petey Williams in a Kingdom Come qualifying match! We're live at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia so let's get to the action!

UW Fury (May 29, 2006)

"Burn in the Light" by Mercy Drive played and Randy Orton came out to start the show! He carried a steel pipe in one hand and the UW World title belt, still stained with Triple H's blood, in the other. Once in the ring, he declared himself the Top Contender for Triple H's championship and said the fans should get used to the sight of him with the title belt, because it's only a matter of time. He then explained why he donned a mask last July and tried to end Triple H's career when he took out his knee with the same steel pipe he's holding now. At the time, the two were members of Evolution along with Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak. But Trips was always the head cheese, and Orton was tired of that. Orton's time is now, Triple H is over and done with. Orton laughed, saying that he would have spoken with Hunter and told him so himself, but permanently injuring him would be a much faster method. It didn't work then, but he's realized he doesn't need a mask, he doesn't need a pipe, all he needs is himself because he is The Legend Killer. Triple H's time has come, and at Kingdom Come Randy Orton will take his place on the top of the mountain. Booker T's music hit the speakers and Book walked toward the ring with an infuriated look on his face. Randy Orton cost him the World title last Friday and now he has the nerve to stand in the ring with the belt on his shoulder like he earned it? Orton interrupted, saying that if Booker's out here to say he wants a shot at the belt then he'd better get in line. He lost last night, plain and simple and now he goes to the back of the pack. Booker told Orton he's stuck his nosy ass in the wrong man's business and he's gonna pay tonight. The two started getting ready to brawl when UW owner Matteus entered the arena! He stood on the ramp and told them that if either of them laid a hand on the other right now, they were suspended. Second, he expected Randy Orton to return the UW World title to him by the end of the night or HE'S suspended. Now, if these two wanted to fight, then next week it's going to be Booker T against Randy Orton in the final Kingdom Come Qualifying match! But this qualifier is special, because it'll be the loser who qualifies for the tournament while the winner will face World champion Triple H at the pay-per-view! The fans went crazy for this, but Matteus one-upped himself saying that next week's match will be held in the confines of a steel cage! The crowd started going nuts and Booker T stared down Orton, who was looking incredibly nervous at the prospects of meeting Booker in a cage next week...

Paul London vs. "Superstar" Steven Richards

London and Kendrick have had their fill of Major League, and London looked to exact some revenge for last Friday's loss at the hands of Siaki and Richards. London looked determined and went right after Steven, hitting him with a springboard DDT to open the match! London controled the tempo and kept the match very fast paced, not allowing the more methodical Richards to gain the edge. Richards ducked a high cross body block at one point but ended up being rolled up as London rolled through with the move. The ref counted: one... two... kickout! Richards tried to go after Paul, but got dropkicked in the knee for his trouble. Richards did gain control after reversing a crucifix attempt into a Samoan drop. Richards stayed on the attack and went for a Stevie Kick, but London caught his foot and ducked an enzuguiri, but Richards caught him with a boot to the gut. Richards mistakenly started quickening the pace, and that's when he made a huge mistake and Paul London got a small package for two and a half. London looked poised to hit Stevie with hit own superkick finisher, but Richards was ready and nailed Paul London with a hidden low blow and rolled him up. One... he grabbed the tights, two... three!

Steven Richards pinned Paul London after a low blow in 6:17.
Rating: * 1/4

Cheap victory aside, this has to be considered Major League's third victory in a row in UW competition, and Steven Richards certainly celebrated like it. Paul London tried to argue with the ref that he was hit with a low blow and his tights were held, but his decision was final.

A video replay of last night's victory by Bobby Roode and Eric Young of Team Canada against Edge and Teddy Hart. Afterwards, Hart nailed Roode with the X Cam and Young was nailed with a Spear from the Rated R Superstar! Edge and Hart were chased off by Petey Williams, but they had the last laugh despite their defeat...

Backstage, Team Canada strategized for tonight's Kingdom Come qualifying match as Petey Williams was set to face John Bradshaw Layfield. Roode was pacing around the room and suddenly burst out that JBL isn't their problem right now, those lowlife scumbags Edge and Hart were. Eric calmed his tag partner down, saying that Matteus has assured him that next week he and edge were scheduled to fight and if anyone interferes in the match they'll be suspended. Tonight is a must-win for Team Canada, he says, as they need to be represented in Team Canada. Petey chimes in that that's especially true because Edge has already qualified. Roode says he and Young will be on the lookout tonight and Petey will come out on top.

Non-Title Match:
MNM (w/ Melina) vs. ""Straight Up" Mikey Batts & Damaja

Last Friday, MNM retained their tag titles by defeating Limited Edition, and as a result Dinsmore and Conway cannot get another title shot until MNM loses the belts! Nitro and Mercury's swagger had never been bigger as the paparazzi led them to the ring for this non-title match. MNM essentially had their way with Batts and Damaja, both of whom have not enjoyed much success thus far in UW. Nitro tried to end it early with a standing shooting star press, but Damaja rolled away and tagged to Batts, who enjoyed a few moments of success attacking Nitro and Mercury before Melina involved herself and allowed her men to gain the upper-hand again. It would be all they needed as Mercury was soon tagged back in and finished off Batts with the Futire Shock for the pinfall.

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) defeated Mikey Batts and Damaja when Mercury pinned M. Batts with the Future Shock in 5:24.
Rating: * 3/4

"Hollywood Bitch" by Stone Temple Pilots played and MNM celebrated their victory, but it was short-lived as Limited Edition's music started playing and Dinsmore and Conway ran to the ring and started brawling with MNM, but Melina was able to grab Nitro and Mercury and get them away from the ring with their tag team championship belts in tow. MNM waved Limited Edition off and started toward the back, but Dinsmore took the mic and asked why they were running. Conway said it was probably because they no longer have to defend the championships against Limited Edition. Dinsmore said that's true, so maybe he and Conway should just give up the chase. Maybe they should break up and start on their respective singles careers. Conway suggests that instead, maybe they should just make sure MNM loses those tag championships sooner than later. He told MNM that that was his and Dinsmore's mission now. They'll be the bane of their existence, they'll be at every title defense, every match. Dinsmore promised that if MNM couldn't lose the titles TO Limited Edition, they'd lose them BECAUSE of Limited Edition. MNM clutched their titles as the fans cheered and we cut to commercial...

Backstage, Randy Orton (conspicuously missing the World title belt, obviously having returned it to Matteus) started going off on Josh Mathews, asking who Matteus thought he was even considering giving Booker T a Top Contenders spot after losing to Triple H last night. Mathews reminded him that it was Orton who shoved Booker off the top rope last Friday, but Orton cut him off and said that it doesn't matter. Because next week he'll beat Booker and climb out of that cage so he can become the Top Contender to the World title. Tonight, however, he issued a challenge to any superstar in the back who has ever beaten Booker T. He'd beat them tonight and prove that he's better than Book, so he can see exactly what he's in for next week.

A video replay from F'N Fury was shown, as Shelton Benjamin defeating Sean O'Haire after blasting him with his own brass knuckles. After the win, the already battered North American champion was attacked viciously by Chavo Guerrero before Sean O'Haire regained consciousness and beat him with the brass knuckles again. Shelton was reported to still be in the hospital receiving treatment for numerous injuries he sustained last Friday at the hands of O'Haire and Guerrero.

"Cross to Bear" by Staind played and out came Chavo Guerrero to a horrid chorus of boos. He chuckled at the fans' reaction as he stepped into the ring and did Eddie's dance and slapped his chest before spitting on the mat. He got on the mic and imitated the fans chants of "Why Chavo Why?" He told them that ever since Eddie died, the fans have loved Chavo. They love him so much that they chant his damn uncle's name during HIS match. They bastardize his name, saying that this or that is what Eddie would have wanted. You know what Eddie would have wanted? Eddie would have wanted the fans to chant Chavo's name! He would have wanted Chavo to become a superstar! But the fans... they won't let that happen. They won't let go of Eddie, but guess what. Eddie's dead. The fans booed, but Chavo didn't care, saying that as far as he's concerned, Eddie can burn, Eddie's memory can burn, and the Guerrero family legacy... he scoffed... that can burn too. From now on, he's not Chavo Guerrero... he's just Chavo. He doesn't want to hear Eddie's name or the Guerrero name ever again, this of course prompted an Eddie chant. He laughed and said he's not coming back. Chavo went on to welcome the man who helped him see the light: Sean O'Haire! O'Haire's music played and he came out as the fans showered him with garbage and boos. He took the mic and said that Shelton Benjamin has been given notice. O'Haire is leading a revolution and he wants the North American title. He challenged the champion to a rematch anytime, anyplace, any rules or no rules. It doesn't matter. Because sooner or later, everyone sees the light. He laughed in the ring as Chavo joined him and we cut to commercial...

"Personal Jesus" by Marilyn Manson played and Generation Next came out and began to run down Monty Brown. Helms said that Brown has been put in his place once and for all and after last Friday, Brown should realize that it's not brawn that wins wrestling matches, but brains. The Alpha Male was outsmarted once again by a superior athlete and strategist, and now he will not get his hands on the leader of Gen Next. Austin Aries said he can't wait to get his hands on Monty Brown again, because, in his words, "fighting the Alpha Male makes me look even better". The three laughed when suddenly "Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed blared on the speakers and the fans prepared for the entrance of The Alpha Male! But to their dismay, Brown never showed up at the arena. Shelley laughed and said that it was probably his embarrassment at being so soundly defeated at F'N Fury, but Monty Brown had chosen not to show his face tonight. Originally, Austin Aries and himself were scheduled to face Brown and "The Juice" Orlando Jordan in a tag team match, but since he's not there and Monty Brown really has no friends backstage then they'll take their forfeit victory and go celebrate. "Can you dig it... SUCKA?!" The crowd roared as Booker T and Orlando Jordan started toward the ring! They started brawling with Aries and Shelley and the ref rang the bell! We have an impromptu match!

Booker T & "The Juice" Orlando Jordan vs. Generation Next (Aries & Shelley)

Booker T obviously stepped in for Monty Brown out of mutual respect, but he wrestled this match like he was trying to send a message to Orton and Triple H. He went at Alex Shelley and dominated him in the early-going, but lost steam soon and tagged in The Juice... who stepped up his Rocky mannerisms this week. He slapped away at Alex's face before spitting in his hand and delivering one final smack. Shelley retreated and was disgusted to find that Jordan had actually spit in his palm! He returned to the ring and charged, but Jordan nailed him with a spinebuster and went for the People's Elbow! Aries broke the move up as OJ bounced off the ropes, allowing Shelley to hit him with a vicious swinging DDT! Aries tagged himself in and went at The Juice, working over his neck before nailing him with a brainbuster for two. Shelley got back in and the two double-teamed Jordan while the ref was holding back Booker, and Shelley tagged himself back in. He went for the Shell Shock, but Jordan fought out and almost got the tag to Booker, but Alex stopped him. He started driving his face into the mat with his legs and rolled him up, but Booker broke the pinfall! Aries charged him, but Booker nailed him with a Book End and knocked out Shelley with a sidekick! He returned to the corner and finally got tagged back in! He went straight after Shelley, hitting him with a spinebuster before nailing the Scissor Kick! He made the cover: one... two... Helms jumped in and broke the pinfall! He attacked Booker and the ref called for the bell.

Orlando Jordan and Booker T defeated Generation Next (Alex Shelley and Austin Aries) when Booker defeated A. Shelley by disqualification in 9:10.
Rating: ***
[Gregory Shane Helms interfered against Booker T.]

Generation Next continued their assault after the bell, and despite the fans chants for The Alpha Male, Monty Brown was nowhere to be found! Helms nailed OJ with the Shining Wizard and Aries and Shelley bowed down to Gregory Shane Helms as he signaled that he would be the next UW King!

Kingdom Come Qualifying Match:
Petey Williams vs. John Bradshaw Layfield

This qualifier was an obvious mismatch, but Petey Williams is one of the top wrestlers in terms of skill in the UW, and with a good head on his shoulders, he took JBL off his base early in the match by going to the air with his attack. He leapt onto Layfield with a plancha to the outside of the ring and both men crashed in to the guardrail! More punches and Petey focused on the legs of Bradshaw, chopping down his bigger foe from the ground up. He kicked away at the thighs and knees of JBL before delivering a legsweep and following with a leg grapevine! JBL was eventually able to stop short as Petey attempted a dropkick, and he slowly attempted to take control. Unfortunately, his legs were not in the best shape and he wasn't as affective as he potentially could have been! He tried a big boot, but his leg gave out and Petey cradled him for two. Suddenly, Teddy Hart came toward the ring and was racing toward an unsuspecting Petey Williams, but he was intercepted by Team Canada's Eric Young and Bobby Roode! Hart quickly re-thought his present strategy and raced off through the crowd. Young and Roode chased after him and it looked like Petey was in the clear again! Petey chopped away at JBL and whipped him into the turnbuckle. He tried to tie him to the tree of woe, but JBL was simply too big! But Williams rolled him up for two and half before he finally went for the kill with the Canadian Destroyer! But again JBL was just too big for Team Canada's leader! But Petey was determined and he clipped Bradshaw's leg and climbed to the top rope! JBL was down for the count and Petey was ready to deliver the final blow, but Edge jumped out from under the ring and smacked Petey in the back with a chair! Petey fell to the canvas and the ref hadn't seen a thing! JBL slowly got up and delivered a very sloppy Clothesline From Hell due to his injured leg, and covered him as Edge watched the referee count the pinfall.

John Bradshaw Layfield pinned Petey Williams with the Clothesline From Hell in 10:00.
Rating: *** 1/4
[Edge interfered against Petey Williams.]

What a travesty! Edge has qualified for the Kingdom Come tournament, but he obviously couldn't stand the potential of a one-on-one faceoff with Team Canada's leader, and cost him the match! Edge decided not to continue the attack afterwards, as the true damage had obviously been done. Edge just walked away smiling and telling the crowd how smart he is.

Updated Kingdom Come tournament pairings:
- Shelton Benjamin vs. Gregory Shane Helms
- Sean O'Haire vs. Booker/Orton
- "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs. JBL
- John Cena vs. "The Rated R Superstar" Edge

Next week on Fury: The final Kingdom Come qualifying match, Booker T vs. Randy Orton in a steel cage! The loser qualifies for Kingdom Come, while the winner faces Triple H for the World title on June 24th! Edge vs. "Showtime" Eric Young and more!

Randy Orton was already in the ring when we came back, and he said that he was ready to take on whichever one of the many schmoes backstage who had defeated Booker T to come on out and get their whipping. "My Time is Now" played and out came John Cena! He saluted and started stomping toward the ring as Orton looked like he was having second thoughts. We have our main event!

John Cena vs. "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton

Orton was caught off-guard by his own open challenge as Cena slid into the ring and started going right at Orton with lefts and rights before clotheslining him over the top rope! He tossed his shirt into the crown and dared Orton to re-enter the ring, but Orton was very cautious. He came back into the ring, locked up and got tossed around before bailing again. He eventually got into the ring one more time and got slammed twice and pressed over the head of John Cena! Cena dumped him to the mat and once again, Orton bailed! The fans had grown tired of this act and obviously so had John Cena, as he went outside and started tossing him into the guardrail and slugging away with Orton, tossing him back into the ring and continuing the assault. Orton caught him with a quick thumb to the eye and grabbed Cena in a chinlock before dropping him on his back. Orton had done some damage to his back, however, and this didn't help it. More chinlocks from Orton and then some punches and a bodyslam. He hit Cena with an elbowdrop and delivered another from the second rope before covering for two. Cena reversed a whip and ducked his head, but Orton kicked him in the face and delivered a thunderous clothesline! He covered again, but didn't hook the leg and got two. Cena finally made a run when he started trading punches with Orton and hit a shoulderblock for two. He lifted Orton up and hit a side suplex before going for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Orton hopped up and caught Cena coming off the ropes, hooking the RKO, but Cena shoved him  off and caught him off the ropes with a spinebuster! He went again for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but again Orton moved and Cena hit the mat. Orton went for the RKO, but Cena grabbed him and lifted him up for the FU! Orton rolled through and hit an armdrag! He waited on Cena and this time was successful and nailed him with the RKO! The ref counted: one... two... three!

Randy Orton pinned John Cena with the RKO in 13:15.
Rating: *** 1/4

What a match, and a great victory for the Legend Killer! Orton wiped his brow and slipped out of the ring, celebrating his victory. Will he be successful next week when he steps into a steel cage with Booker T? If so, he'll be meting Triple H for the World title on June 24th on pay-per-view. Otherwise, Booker T will earn the title shot and Orton will have to fight his way through eight other men who all want to be King to get another shot. We'll find out next week!

Great opening segment.  This has been a well-orchestrated angle, but I can't imagine Orton not winning.  I wonder if we'll hear what HHH has to say by the end of the night.

Major League keeps rolling... good.  They need to in order to be legit.

I really want to care about the Team Canada vs. Edge/Teddy Hart feud, but I can't.  Not yet anyway.  I don't give up on these things, but so far, my interest just isn't there.

Dammit Dinsmore and dammit Conway.  Be good losers and leave MNM alone! :(

Awesome segment with Chavo and O'Haire.  You had me hating the guy.  This has played out perfectly and I'm excited as to where it's going.

Hrm... guessing Monty Brown was a no-show?  Booker T is a good replacement, but with all the other stuff he's involved in, he seemed a bit out of place.

Good match making Petey still look strong but JBL had to go to the tourney.  Just makes a lot more sense, really.

Good main event, and it's odd to see Cena lose clean, but hey, it works, and Orton looks strong heading into the huge cage showdown with Booker.  Great job, Matteus.
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 06/21/06 at 20:17:31

-I have a mixed reaction on this match, but I guess I can go with Stevie Richards going over on this one. After all, he is an ECW "Rebel"... ::)

-MNM picks up, yet another win. I guess they are growing on me, with Nitro (?) on Raw and all.

-Limited Edition is THE SHIZZNOT.

-The whole Canada feud is so awesome. I loooove what ur doin with em.

-...whoa. Awesome Chavo/O' Haire promo

-"WE WANT MONTY!!!" [CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP]

-YES! Edge costing Williams the match, BRILLIANT! But, I don't like JBL that much.

-Yeah, I do agree with Ryan. It is wierd to see Cena lose clean, AND its wierd to see Orton win clean. Good finish.

==============
ur doin good, just post it more often!
