ECW on Sci-Fi Network (6-13-2006)

The Bizz 2.0Posted on 06/10/06 at 20:22:36

(The show opens to the original "ECW Opening", and we are introduced to :
Joey Styles and Taz, our commentators for the evening.)

Joey Styles- Hello everybody and welcome to our debut show on
Sci-Fi  Network! Tonight we will see what kind of drama rolls
out from One Night Stand. And speaking of One Night Stand,
coming off of his last win in his career, I have next to
me none other than Taz.

Taz- That's right, I don't really wanna brag about it... but
tonight we have a great card planned for you, and you
aren't gonna wanna miss ECW's kickoff show!
--------------------------

The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) defeated:
The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney) when L. Storm
pinned A. Rotten after a Northern Lights suplex in 0:08:17.
Rating: *** 1/2

Match Recap- After quitting from MTV's Wrestling X project, Justin Credible
hoped to redeem himself by making his ECW Return a win, and thats
exactly what he did with the help of Lance Storm. The ECW Tag Team
Division is looking to be strong, but was this win strong enough
to put them into the "talks" of being a participant in ECW's Heatwave
"4 Way Dance"?
--------------------------

We go to the back and we see Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam talking to:
each other in the locker room.

Kurt Angle- Hey Robbie, come here for a second. (RVD walks upto Kurt
and they shake hands.) Just wanted to congradulate you on your
win at One Night Stand. But I won too. And I just wanted you to know
that I want whats around your waist.

Rob Van Dam- Ah, that's great. The ECW Rookie wants a title shot on
his first night. Well if you can talk to Paul E., and if you can
get a title shot straightend out between us, then I'll think about
it buddy.

(RVD slowly walks away from Kurt and exits the locker room)
--------------------------

CM Punk pinned Brent Albright with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:09:35.:
Rating: *** 3/4

Match Recap- Punk went all out, using every trick in the book
to pull off his win in his ECW debut. The two alums from OVW
put on a hell of a show for the ECW crowd, and
are truly showing that ECW isn't only about hardcore fighting
and brawling. After the match, CM Punk asked for a mic'.

CM Punk- I stand here tonight, in a ring surrounded by over
6000 fans, in an ECW ring, fighting as an ECW Wrestler.
I just need to get one thing off of my chest... I hate
ECW. I hate everything that it stood, and still stands for.
They want to go to WWE and complain about how they are
only sports-entertainment. ECW is as much SE as WWE is.
They hate to admit it, but ECW shows used to be about
Catfights... Beer drinking... barbed wire... fire...
crucifictions... religion! I'm here to change ECW.
I don't care how long its going to take. Paul Heyman
and Vince McMahon claims its gonna be a new ECW?
After seeing One Night Stand 2 theres no proof
about it! And especially after seeing the tag team
match between Foley/Edge and Funk/Dreamer... that match
made me sick. I didn't see one bit of wrestling talent
in that match at all, all I saw was weapons, fire, and
blood. Well thats not me. I'm all talent. I'll be damned
if I'm going to be in a promotion that makes me look bad.
So I'll make ECW look good... (CM Punk drops the microphone
and walks to the back with a crowd booing him out of the
ring.)
--------------------------

Da Beast pinned Mikey Whipwreck with the Belly-to-Back Suplex in 0:05:54.:
Rating: ** 1/4

Match Recap- Da Beast completely tore through the ECW Veteran. Da
Beast adapted to the ECW rules pretty quickly. Whipwreck had
started off the match strong, but after attempting to put Da Beast
through a table with a tornado DDT, his run stopped short. Beast
reversed the DDT, and executed a "main event" spine buster through
the table! He proceeded the brutal beating, and finished Whipwreck
off with his Belly-to-Back Suplex.
--------------------------

Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke defeated The Untouchables (Deuce Shade and Dice Domino):
when Nunzio pinned Deuce with the Arrividerci in 0:09:39.
Rating: ***

Match Recap- The OVW Alumnis could not give it their all tonight, when
the F.B.I. took it to them hard, and rough, just like the old days.
Nunzio and Mamaluke are looking to impress ECW Management, as they
hope to be one of the 4 teams in the "4 Way Dance" Tag Title match
at Heatwave.

Interview:
"Enter Sandman" hits the arena in Trenton, and the crowd goes absolutly nuts!

(Every single section of the crowd is looking around the arena, looking for
The Sandman to emerge, and we see Sandman with a cane above his head!
He takes a while to get to the ring, and by the time he does, his head
is busted open by the beer can)

Sandman- *** **** its good to be back! (Crowd Pop, ECW Chants start.)
Now, I understand that I am under the WWE Umbrella... (Wave of
Boos) but I really don't give a **** because I'm here in E-C
F'N-W!!! (Crowd Pop) I know you don't see the Sandman on the
mic' a lot, but theres a reason, you better believe it.
You see, for years now, I've been hungry. Hungry for gold.
I was watching the show in the back, and I saw Kurt confront
Rob Van Dam about his ECW World title. I just wanted to say this to
Kurt... I'll be damned if you iare gonna take my place as #1 Contender!
So I want Angle in this ring, in Trenton, New Jersey for a #1
Contender's Match for the title!

(After 5 seconds, Angles music hits and he wastes to time on pyro
and walks straight down to the ring.)

Kurt Angle- Sandman, let me get this straight. You think you are gonna
just march in here and take the contender's spot? What the hell did
you do to earn it bucko?

Sandman- Kurt this ain't WWE. Here in ECW, when someone issues a
challenge, you answer it. I can't give less of a **** about what
your saying until I here the "yes" or the "no".

Kurt Angle- What the hell have you done to deserve this? For the past
year you've done nothing but sit on your ass and drink beer. I bet
your last match was at ECW One Night Stand, 2005. I've beaten the
best within the past year. I've beatean Randy Orton, Undertaker,
Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio! I deserve this title more than anyone
in this building!

Sandman- Just because Heyman chose you over everyone else from
SmackDown doesn't mean that you are gonna climb straight to the
top. I don't care who you beat in WWE. You WWE career does not
matter here. In my eyes, your just another little bitch trying
to be the spotlight.

Kurt Angle- ...Another bitch... (chuckles). The only reason
why you have the balls to say this to me, face to face,
is because you had some beers before you came to the ring
because there is no chance anyone would say any of this to me sober!

Sandman- Sounds to me like you need a reality check--- (Sandman
canes Angle straight between the eyes and Angle falls to the ground!
Sandman continues his assault on Kurt, until Kurt eventually rolls
out of the ring. He climbs the stairs to the entrance stage, and
asks for a microphone.)

Kurt Angle- You want me to prove I can make you tap? Well let me tell
you something... (pauses)... YOUR ON! (CROWD POP) But not here, not
now... you have one week. One week to prepare for me. Because next
week, its gonna be you and me, in the #1 Contender's Match.

(The two stare each other down from a distance, and Kurt walks away.
The screen fades to black after the ECW Credits show...)

That's a good debut show for the Sci-Fi network.

I like the fact that you used some of the OVW wrestlers like C.M. Punk and Brent Albright (Gunner Scott on Smackdown!). Those two had a great feud in OVW and some of the clips I've seen on YouTube about OVW of these two were brilliant. I much prefer the OVW Brent Albright to how the WWE is using him. Brent has some of Taz's attitude.

And C.M. Punk is going to be such a breakout star in ECW. In your circuit, in my ECW circuit, and hopefully in the real ECW too. It just seems like Punk has so much heat with people in the WWE, but they won't release him because he'll go to TNA.

The Sandman and Kurt Angle having issues with each other makes perfect sense. Afterall, supposedly Kurt Angle does have heat with The Sandman for what happened in that Raven/Sandman angle in the 90's.
rey619Posted on 06/12/06 at 00:13:06

Punk suits the role you gave him perfectly. A feud with the Sandman could be awesome along the road. The Sandman is the polar opposite of what CM Punk is. I'm guessing Punk costs Sandman his top contender match next week.

Punk's got heat with WWE management? What for? Going to the RoH Unscripted show without permission?

It had something to do with his WWE Heat match with Val Venis match that never aired. Apparently, he has heat with Shawn Michaels and HHH with something to do with that match or something in general. At least that is the IWC perspective on it.

From what I remember, the Heat match that never aired only had to do with the fact that management didn't see him wrestling the "WWE Style" correctly, thus his further training in OVW. I remember hearing something about Triple H... or somebody(bodies) he rubbed the wrong way while backstage, but while I don't ever see him as WWE champion, he'd be a great breakout star in ECW.

I don't want him in the WWE. The only promotion he can thrive in is ECW, or Ring of Honor of course. On a national level though, I really hope Heyman can work his magic and get C.M. Punk in ECW.
AnubisPosted on 06/14/06 at 09:41:54

That's how the debut tonight should have gone.  Your circuit is much better than what's on TV thus far.  Just one question, though . . .

Who's "Da Beast"?
MatteusPosted on 06/14/06 at 16:09:58

Shad Gaspard from OVW ... his not-so-old gimmick is Da Beast, but he goes by an angry black man gimmick in Ohio Valley.
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 06/16/06 at 22:21:35

Try to think of him as a replacement for New Jack.
