Notes:
Trinity came out on top in a highly competitive women's match. After the match, Trinity said that this is what women in the ring should be able to do, not like the softporn that is WEW.

Merciless defeated CM Punk's mentor in a superb match to send a message to his SNME opponent.

Chris Cage got his big break when he managed to put away Paul London after a sunset flip and pulling on the tights. Cage wore a leather jacket, spiked collar and bracelets, and cut a short promo that compared to the 80's, 2007 sucked ass!

WWC Smackdown

Lashley vs Todd Shane

The destructive killing machine Lashley continued his rampage here in WWC against one-half of the Shane Twins. Ken Kennedy joined Cole and Taz for this match, and Taz insisted he sit in the middle, as he was afraid of Cole taking advantage of him. Kennedy then went on to say that Lashley stole the win for him last month in the four-corner match which also included Burchill and Test, and that's why he attacked him two weeks ago.

Todd is a big guy, but Lashley simply overpowered the twin with big suplexes and powerslams. Lashley went for the cover after a double underhook backbreaker, when Mike Shane jumped up on the apron. Lashley got up, hiptossed one twin atop another and made the bizarre pin on both Shanes.

Kennedy then tried to slide into the ring, but when Lashley stomped menacingly in the canvas, Kennedy slid right back out and made it clear he had no intention of getting in the ring with Lashley. As Kennedy retreated to the back, Shane O'Mac came out. Shane said that, coincidentally, neither Lashley or Kennedy had a match at the next Saturday Night Main Event. That's why Shane thought it would be a good idea to sign a match between them. Kennedy tried to protest, but Shane had already made up his mind.

Lashley pinned Todd Shane after a hiptoss in 0:05:29.

Backstage
We see Rob Van Dam enter the building, and immediately runs into Rey Mysterio who tells him they have a tag team match agains the Dojo as the main event. They chat as they walk down the corridor, when someone shouts for RVD. It's Bill Alfonso! Alfonso said he was going to be here, so here he is! Alfonso doesn't acknowledge Rey at all, and goes on to talk about how RVD is going to win the big one in 15 days time. He tells RVD to move along, they have a lot to talk about. RVD says he'll catch up with Rey later. As the two continue, Rey looks confused and just a little worried.

The camera moves further ahead, where Test is trying to hit on a female fan. She seems somewhat bored, and when she spots Burchill, she excuses herself and moves over to the savvy buccaneer. Test gets an angry sneer on his face, and flexes his pecs a little to boost his ego.

Mexciools (Super Crazy & Psicosis) vs Hart Foundation 2G (Teddy Hart & Harry Smith)

Hart Foundation 2G had been promised a chance to earn another tag-title shot through hard work, and the first step was tonight, squaring off against the Mexicools.

The Mexicans didn't make it easy for the Canadians though, utilizing aerial maneuvers against Smith, and trying to ground Hart whenever he was in the ring. Even though Hart and Smith are third generation superstars with a lot of potential, nobody can deny the experience factors Psicosis and Crazy brings to the table. Psicosis was close when he countered a suplex attempt from Harry into a small package, earning a two-count.

The finish came when all four crashed together in the ring, punching away at each other. Hart gave Super Crazy a dropkick, spilling him to the outside, and flew over the ropes with a plancha. In the ring, Harry locked on a sleeperhold on Psicosis, cutting off his air supply. Teddy kept Crazy occupied on the outside, causing ref Robinson to call for the bell when Psicosis didn't respond anymore.

Teddy Hart went on the mic after the match, calling out Shane McMahon, asking him if this was proof enough for him. Shane said that while they did come a long way earning them another title shot, he still felt that they had enough opportunies already. But, if they can defeat both Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro next week in singles competition, then it was a done deal.

Backstage
Just as last week, we see Michael Cole nervously approach Elijah Burke, expressing his desire to tell him something. Burke tells him to shoot, but Cole chickens out again and leaves as Beth Phoenix enters wearing sunglasses. Burke asks her why she's wearing those inside, but Beth changes the subject to why he isn't wrestling this show either. Burke removes her glasses, revealing a black eye. Burke confronts her about this, and asks if she got that from her "boyfriend", Kid Kash. Beth says he's not her boyfriend, and that Burke should let it rest. Burke says "we'll just see about that."

William Regal vs Kid Kash

Regal desperately wanted a rematch against Jamie Noble for the WWC Strong-Style Championship, and defeating his stablemate Kid Kash was an obstacle he just had to overcome.

Regal had full control on Kash, taking him down with a superplex, a butterfly suplex and a dragon suplex for a near fall. After a brief comeback from Kash, Regal managed to lock in the Regal Stretch on Kash. Just as Kash was about to tap, Elijah Burke ran in and attacked Kash, causing the DQ. Regal tried to persuade the ref to reverse the decision, but Burke stomping away on Kash didn't exactly help him. Jamie Noble came out and joined the fray, but Burke was a man on fire, sending both Kash, Noble and Rhodes to the floor. Not until Regal managed to pin Burke to the ground did the mad man's attack stop. Kash flipped Burke the bird as team Rhodes went to the back. What would this do for Regal's title shot?

Kid Kash defeated William Regal by disqualification in 0:04:26.

In ring
The red carpet is rolled out as Melina and her (now) three boys come out to a loud boo. Melina seductively enters the ring and is handed a microphone. Melina said that last week, Colt Cabana came out to confront his best friend CM Punk. Instead of knocking him senseless, as he should have done for what Punk did to him, Cabana tried to reason with him, showing "true" friendship. Melina said that in this industry, friendship meant nothing, and a concept of love was so very foreign that for her to consider something like that made her head spin. In this business, the only things that mattered were who you knew, and money. And at SNME March 31st, Punk would be put on the shelf indefinetely at the hands of the Bavarian Butcher, Merciless!

CM Punk came down the aisle with a microphone. He applauded Melina for bringing in a third guy. After all, he (Punk) was apparently more of a man than Nitro and Mercury put together. Punk then apologized to the fans for letting his judgment slip.. twice.. but he has had some tests, and he's clean. The fans starts to shout "you're a crackwhore" at Melina, who screams out loud in frustration. Punk goes on to say that he would love to take all of them on, but Shane McMahon didn't want him to injury all three of them at once, so he would settle for Nitro. Punk then corrected Melina, saying that the only thing that mattered in wrestling was kicking ass.

CM Punk vs Johnny Nitro

Punk did not let his temper get the best of him in this match, and wrestled Nitro methodically, like if it was any other match. Nitro is not completely lost in singles action, scoring with a dropkick to the back of Punk's surgically repaired neck for a close call.

Punk struck back with a backbreaker and the 10-punch in the corner, even letting his temper get the best of him when he started to choke Nitro on the ropes. At about the 5 minute mark, Joey Mercury got into the ring, but received a big boot and a Shining Wizard for his efforts. Ref Robinson did not disqualify Nitro, seeing as how Punk enjoyed kicking MNM butt.

Punk did get Nitro up on the ropes for the Pepsi Plunge, but Melina got up on the apron and distracted the ref. Punk went straight over to her and kicked her in the guts. Nitro used the distraction to roll up Punk, but Punk rolled through and got the win. Merciless and Mercury ran in after the match, but Punk retreated among the crowd, shouting obscenities to Melina and the rest of his enemies.

CM Punk pinned Johnny Nitro after a small package in 0:08:17.

Brian Kendrick vs Burchill

Burchill took on Brian Kendrick in a friendly contest, and showed everyone what a phenomenal athlete he is. Kendrick was fortunate to survive the first few minutes, as Burchill took him down with several innovative moves, including an Emerald Erosion. Kendrick struck back with a flying cross body that earned him a two-count, but Burchill who is trying to make a name for himself struck back, catching Kendrick with a standing moonsault for the win.

Burchill pinned Brian Kendrick after a standing moonsault in 0:09:51.

After the match, Test came down and said that while Burchill may have a smoother tongue then him with the ladies, he still couldn't hold up to Test when it came to the real deal. Test then challenged Burchill to a match at SNME, which Burchill accepted.

The Dojo (Genki Horiguchi & Naruki Doi) vs Rey Mysterio & Rob Van Dam

Rey and RVD teams up again, this time in a straight on 2 vs 2 match with the Dojo.

The Dojo started out with some nice double teamwork on Rey. Genki lifted him up with a suplex, and Doi came down with a missile dropkick. Horiguchi took the champ down with a german suplex, but Rey kicked out. Rey tried to make the tag, but Horiguchi took Rey down with the Beach Break. Rey has the heart of a lion, and kicked out of his finisher! Rey bounced back up, taking him down with a rana for a two count.

Rey was isolated for great parts of this match, but still managed to keep the Dojo at bay. Doi ate a sitdown faceslam, while Horiguchi was taken down by Rey's trademark Thesz press, and then a flurry of punches. Rey did manage to tag RVD, but it was behind the ref's back, and RVD was forced to get back behind the ropes again. Bill Alfonso came out at this point, trying to persuade RVD to abandon the match. RVD refused to let his old mentor ruin his friendship with Rey, and finally, he made the hot tag, cleaning house as he laid out both Dojo guys. All four men were in the ring at this time, and Rey gave Horiguchi a dropkick, draping him across the middle rope. As Rey signalled for the 619, RVD picked up Horiguchi, taking him down with a german suplex. Alfonso reached in through the ropes and held his legs down, causing the 1-2-3.

After the match, Alfonso went into the ring and celebrated with RVD, and went to great lengths not to include Rey Misterio in any way. The Dojo and Dawber pleaded with ref Patrick that Alfonso cheated his way to victory, and Dawber even confronted Rey with this. When Rey went to talk to RVD, Alfonso pulled him away, leaving Rey confused in the ring as Smackdown went to a close.

Alright!  Fighting for women wrestler rights. :)

Gotta love the fonze.  Not cool leavin' Rey in the dust though.

I'd just like to say after the Beth Phoenix segment that I'm against violence to women... unless it furthers an angle ;D heehee

Love to see CM Punk win anywhere, but it's especially nice to see him take a member of MNM down a peg.

Great close to the show.  Can't wait to see how things end up between Rey & RVD with Alfonso in the picture.

Great card :)
MatteusPosted on 06/08/06 at 22:43:50

Lashley wins... yup. Although I do have to say your commentary is just enough that I don't feel like I missed anything, but not so daunting that I skip it. Nice!

Fonzie!! I was right!! Like McDonald's patrons... I too, am lovin' it ;)

Test gets an angry sneer on his face, and flexes his pecs a little to boost his ego.
LOL!!

Hmmm... I don't like Elijah Burke getting all jealous and mean. :(  He went nuuts!! I love Team Rhodes, as an aside :)

Aaaah, CM Punk. The highlight of my night. Merciless looks vicious, btw, after checking him out online. Great segment and win for Punk, as he one-ups MNM once again. I figure Merciless will get the win though.

Fonzie!!! Sorry, I marked out again for this match. I hope RVD comes to his senses and leaves Rey behind so he can be top dog in WWC as he should be ;)

Great, great show!

Like the RVD/Rey stuff, though I'm finding the Dojo stuff a bit lackluster, mostly because I don't believe they've won on TV since debuting.

Ken Kennedy rules a whole f'n lot, so I hope you use him to the fullest.  He vs. Lashley should rule a big time amount.

Since I had a bit of a sabatical there for awhile, I was a bit  behind here... you'll get more detailed feedback as they come now.

I hear ya, but in their defense, they've mostly been facing main eventers and acting as "distraction" while I built the Rey/Rvd program. After the next SNME, I'll probably set them off in a midcard feud or something. One thing's for sure, they do bring in the match ratings.

Kennedy.. well.. he's managed to get himself injured again, so he's gonna be missing for a couple of months after his match with Lashley. I recently ran a live show, and I suffered my 4th injury to a midcard/upper midcard wrestler in short time. So I'm looking at major changes to my plans, or some new hirings.

One of my biggest concern is what to do with Lashley.. I really need something for him to do.. or just let him go. I realize I haven't that many big guys on the roster, and I'm tired of having him fight Test. Now with Kennedy injured.. I'm running out of options. Any good suggestion for a reasonably well known guy that doesn't work for WWE or TNA?
HugeRockStar760Posted on 06/11/06 at 23:07:28

As far as a challenger for Bobby Lashley, maybe you should look at some of the lucha and puro promotions. I've been watching some AAA and CMLL shows on Galavision the last few weekends, and they have some good heavyweights. Perro Aguayo Jr., Cibernetico, La Parka, even Vampiro.

Live Event - 03.18.07

WWC visited Schenectady, NY for a live event that featured a lot of great matches and even some storyline development.

Naruki Doi pinned William Regal after a legsweep in 0:06:29.
Rating: *** 1/4
[Jamie Noble interfered against William Regal.]

A competitive match between Doi and the Brit. Noble came down to distract Regal, sliding a chair in the ring. The Puro star used the chair as a weapon when he legswept Regal unto it.

Burchill and Lashley defeated Ken Kennedy and Test when Lashley pinned Test
with the Dominator in 0:12:45.
Rating: * 3/4

Test just can't defeat Lashley.. Kennedy took it slow in this match, probably because of his injury. Going into SNME in two weeks time against Lashley with an injury must be a daunting task for Kennedy.

Chris Cage pinned Gregory Helms with the Flying Cross Body Press in 0:15:56.
Rating: ** 1/4

Another impressive outing from the young Cage, defeating the former Cruiserweight champion in a long match. Cage seems to have some kind of 80's gimmick, and was generally accepted as a face among the crowd

The Dojo (Dragon Kid and Genki Horiguchi) defeated
Mexicools (Psicosis and Super Crazy) when Dragon Kid pinned Psicosis with the
Dragon Rana in 0:18:55.
Rating: ****

Match of the evening, as it was Lucha vs Puro. These four guys really gave everything they got, but in the end, it was the highly impressive Dragon Rana from the lightning quick Dragon Kid who got the win for the Dojo.

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) and Merciless defeated
Paul London, Brian Kendrick and CM Punk when Mercury pinned Punk after the
Snapshot in 0:15:11.
Rating: ***

Punk tried recruiting some allies in his crusade against MNM, but ending up eating the pinfall. Kendrick and London were both being beat to a pulp by Merciless on the outside, giving Mercury and Nitro the chance to take out Punk

Elijah Burke pinned Kid Kash after the Sky High in 0:12:00.
Rating: *** 1/2

Beth Phoenix begged Elijah not to go through with this match, but Elijah was adamant. Kid Kash managed to take out the referee with an accidental leg lariat, and then started to work on Elijah's back with a lead pipe. Elijah showed great spirit fighting back, landing Kash with a Sky High and the win.

Rey Misterio defeated Rob Van Dam by disqualification in 0:12:19.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Bill Alfonso interfered against Rey Misterio.]

Interesting development indeed, as Alfonso causes the DQ by breaking Rey's pinfall attempt after he Dropped the Dime. Rey shoved Alfonso to the ground, causing some very heated words between RVD and Rey. RVD tried to shake hands with Rey, but Rey just left the ring.

Card rating: *** 1/4

- Chris Benoit is rumored to be on his way to WWC, as both Heyman and Shane have realized they need more top names if they are to compete with WeW and TNA. Sabu has already been contacted to do a program with Rey Mysterio, but has rejected the contract and opted to stay with TNA.
