Smackdown

Welcome to another edition of WWC Smackdown! Tonight, MNM defends their tag-team titles against the Hart Foundation, Melina and Trinity goes one-on-one in WWC's first ever Bra & Panties match, Ace Steel challenges Jamie Noble for the WWC Strong-Style Championship, and we see the in-ring return of Ken Kennedy to Smackdown!

In ring

Shane McMahon struts his way down to the ring, and says he has an important announcement. Shane says that the D.A. is ready to prosecute Randy Orton for kidnapping, and that the reason the Japanese guys is still on the loose is that they cut a deal, testifying against Orton for their freedom. Now, Shane had been talking to Rey Mysterio a great deal over the past two weeks, and Rey's forgiving heart had given Randy Orton a second chance for his freedom. If the Japanese guys, who calls themselves the Dojo, can beat Rey Mysterio and a partner of his choosing tonight, Rey's family drops the charges. However, if the Dojo loses, not only will Randy go to prison for a long time, he will be the new cellmate to an individual going by the name of Nutjob.. Shane adds that the rumors says it's NOT because he's crazy. Shane says that Randy has accepted the terms. By the way, Rey's partner of choice is none other than the #1 contender, Rob Van Dam.

Ace Steel vs Jamie Noble (c) for the WWC Strong-Style Championship

Big opportunity for Ace Steel here tonight, one-on-one with the Strong-Style champion, Jamie Noble. Steel and Noble slugged away at each other for the first minute or so, before moving over to more scientific wrestling, wearing each other down and waiting for that big opportunity to present itself. Ace got the momentum when he reversed a tiger driver attempt into a backdrop, locking on the STF. Noble inched his way to the ropes, and Steel had to break the hold. Steel tried to go for the STF again, but Noble hit an armdrag, holding on to the hand and forcing Steel to submit to a painful hammerlock variant.

After the match, Rhodes hands Noble a microphone. Noble says that there is nobody in WWC who can match him on the mat in these kind of matches, and that he would probably have to retire the belt undefeated in a few years time. "He's a man's man" plays on the sound system, and William Regal comes out. Regal admits that Noble is an intense wrestler, a grappling master and a tough SOB. However, Regal had been fighting on the streets of Blackpool since he wore diapers, and had wrestled professionally since the age of 15. He definetely felt he had a trick or two up his sleeve, and challenged Noble to a title match in two weeks. Noble and Rhodes accepted, and told Regal to bring his A-game.

Jamie Noble made Ace Steel submit to a hammerlock in 0:07:02.

Video footage
We see an amateur recording of something that must be a movie premiere this past weekend. Reporters and fans are gathered behind the security ropes of a red carpet as a limo in high speed approaches and stops abruptly. After a few seconds of confusion, we see MNM slowly make their way out of the car, Mercury and Nitro's suits all messy with champagne, and Melina's white dress just as wet, the soft white fabric barely concealing anything at all. They yell and curse and approach the driver's door, intent on beating some sense into this crazy driver as the door suddenly shoots up, catching Mercury in the stomach. The driver jumps out and headbutts Nitro in the head, and then turns to Melina. We now see that it is CM Punk wearing a limo driver's uniform! Melina, seeing that both of her boys are down, tries to run away, but her dress is probably caught in the door (we can't see it, only hears a ripping sound), and as she comes out in front of all the people by the red carpet, her beautiful white dress is nothing more than a really short skirt. Melina tries to cover herself as the paparazzi's shower her with snapshots.

Psicosis vs CM Punk
Punk had a distinct smirk on his face as he made his way down the aisle for his match against Psicosis.

Psicosis utilized some nice lucha-style armdrags in the start, but Punk soon caught up with him, reversing the armdrags into armdrags of his own, and going to work on the Mexican's arm right away. This was a very competetive bout, pitting two great wrestlers against each other. Psicosis was close to earning the victory after a bodyslam - lionsault combination, and Punk would surely have won with the Anaconda Vice, if Psicosis hadn't been so close to the ropes. Psicosis drilled Punk with a DDT and went to the top, but Punk mustered up his strength and jumped right after him, taking him down with the Pepsi Plunge to earn the victory. After the match, Punk officially declared war on MNM.

CM Punk pinned Psicosis with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:10:17.

Interview
Josh Matthews stands by with Ken Kennedy, but Kennedy interrupts young-looking Josh before he can say anything, and introduces himself. Kennedy says he doesn't care about working his way to the top from the bottom, but says he wants to start where he left off, which was almost at the top. Kennedy goes on to say that everyone remembered him as the last guy Eddie Guerrero wrestled on Smackdown, so if he was to make the fans remember him for his great ringwork, he had some work to do, and he would start tonight by winning the big profile four-corner match. Kennedy said he couldn't understand why people like that big oaf Lashley, that make-up wearing pirate Burchill or that guy who used to do that chick on the dancing show (Test) thought they could rise to the top. As everyone knew, there is only room for one guy at the top, and his name is.... KENNEDY... KEN KENNEDY!

Hart Foundation 2G (Teddy Hart & Harry Smith) vs MNM (Joey Mercury & Johnny Nitro) (c) for the WWC Tag-Team Titles

MNM still upset what happened last weekend at the premiere, would Hart Foundation 2G take advantage of that, or would MNM's hatred for CM Punk propel them to even bigger heights?

Mercury and Smith engaged in a chopping contest in the opening seconds, Smith coming out on top as Mercury was almost turned inside out from a vicious karate chop. Smith tagged Hart, who nailed Mercury with a tornado DDT for a 2-count. Hart Foundation in control until Nitro faked a tag when Melina had ref Nick Patrick distracted, clubbing Smith from behind and sending Hart to the outside with a lariat.

The match went back and forth with a lot of nice tag-action, until Hart Foundation again found themselves in control, Smith bringing down Mercury hard with a running powerslam, and Hart signalling for the Hart Attack. Teddy went upstairs, but spent too much time posing for the crowd, allowing Melina to crotch him on the ropes. Melina was quite pleased with herself, but that was before someone grabbed her from beneath the ring, dragging her under kicking and screaming. In the ring, MNM gave Harry a double dropkick, and brought Hart down with the Snapshot, retaining their titles yet again.

MNM jumped out of the ring to search for Melina (who could still be heard screaming), but all they saw was the blast of a fire extinguisher as they got hit square in the face. They stumbled blindly around as CM Punk emerged from under the ring armed with a chair. Punk gave them both a couple of chairshots, before running after Melina who was retreating to the back. Punk knew that if he was going to win a 1 on 3 war, he had to use guerilla tactics, and so far, he had been successful.

Backstage
Elijah Burke and "Bombshell" Beth Phoenix are walking backstage, when Michael Cole nervously comes up to Burke and asks him if he can show him some of his cool dance moves. Burke says they can go to his locker room right now. Beth smiles confused, and when she turns around, Kid Kash stands there, blocking her path. Kash asks her what a girl like her is doing with a guy like that (Elijah). Beth wants to know what Kash means by that, and Kash replies.. "well.. you.. he's one of those.. you know." Beth gets upset and calls Kash a racist before she slaps him and storms off. It takes a couple of second before Kash registers what she says, and quickly tries to explain that he wasn't referring to the color of his skin. Jamie Noble walks by, shaking his head, saying that unfortunately for Kash, there were no more Jim Crow laws in the US.

Ken Kennedy vs Lashley vs Test vs Burchill in a Four-Corner Match

We're back from intermission (yes, WWC has intermissions), and Taz asks Cole where he's been. Cole says he's been hanging around with some girls, but Taz clearly doesn't believe him.

A clash of the titans, as the four biggest men in WWC waged war in a four-way contest. Test had a beef with both Burchill and Lashley, having been defeated at the Royal Rumble by Lashley, and then punched out by Burchill at the after party. Ken Kennedy had returned to Smackdown after a brief spell in TNA following WWE fell apart, and wanted to make an impact right away.

Test charged Burchill before Lashley had even been introduced, focusing his anger on the buccaneer. Kennedy didn't seem to care for either men, as he just awaited his final opponent. As Lashley ran down to the ring, Test brought Burchill down with a bodyslam and a big elbowdrop for a 2-count that was broken up by Kennedy. As Test got in Kennedy's face, Lashley speared them both from behind, sending them crashing to the corner.

This match was chaotic from start to end, as referee Nick Patrick was unable to get the men to tag in and out in an orderly fashion. Test and Lashley caught up where they left off, brawling away on the outside while Burchill showed off his tremendous athletic ability, sending Kennedy down with a variety of seldom seen moves, such as the Burning Hammer, Air Raid Crash and a wonderful standing shooting star press.

On the outside, Test had set up a table for Lashley, but Bobby powered out of the Test Drive and instead sent Test through the table with a powerbomb. Test was out cold, allowing Lashley to focus on the two men inside the ring. Kennedy had now taken control over Burchill after he elbowed his way out of the C4 attempt, and had the pirate up on the ropes for the Green Bay Plunge. The pin was broken by Lashley, who sent Kennedy over the ropes with a big boot. He then picked up the limp Burchill and sent him down hard with the Dominator to secure his victory.

After the match, Kennedy came back in to the ring and got in Lashley's face, claiming that he stole his win. Lashley didn't back off, and when Kennedy had the audacity to slap the big man, Lashley gave Kennedy a violent push, sending him over the ropes. Lashley went after, and they brawled to the back.

Test then slowly made his way back to the ring and started to stomp on the prone Burchill. Test picked him up and sent him down with the Test Drive. Burchill was then tangled up in the corner, while Test retrieved a chair. He screamed "eye for an eye", as he repeatedly rammed the steel chair into Burchill's skull, aiming for the eye. Happy with himself, Test returned to the back while the referees went to check on Burchill.

Trinity vs Melina in a Bra & Panties Match

As Tony Chimel introduced the next match as a Bra & Panties match, a familiar music played, and the crowd marked out as Paul Heyman made his way out from the back. Heyman said that when he woke up this morning and discovered that there was going to be a Bra & Panties match, he got sick to his stomach. After all, this wasn't WEW! This was WWC, and if he had anything to say about it, this was not going to turn into a soft-porn freakshow with talentless, brainless, slutty, silicone-equipped skanks! So he actually visited the messageboards at wwconfederation.com to ask the loyal fans what he should do. One fan in particular had come with a brilliant suggestion, namely doing something very un-ladylike, making it a First Blood Match. Heyman then asks the fans in the arena what they wanted. If they wanted a First Blood match, they had to... Heyman stops and says that he really doesn't care what they think, this will be a First Blood match! The fans cheer him for not giving a crap what they think (and for the great promo). As he leaves, Heyman turns around and says that the messageboard user's handle was someone called PunkIsGod. Cole asks Taz if that's a coincidence, to which Taz replies "Duh..."

Trinity vs Melina in a First Blood Match

WWC's first woman's match was, thanks to CM Punk and Paul Heyman, a First Blood match! OVW's Trinity set to fight Melina, who tried desperately to get away from the former stuntwoman, but Trinity soon got hold of Melina's hair, sending her face first into the canvas. These two women showed that they could definetely wrestle a lot better than the softporn divas in WEW, exchanging holds and moves like male veterans. The action spilled on the outside, where both women tried to ram each other into the guardrail, figuring that forehead meets steel equals blood. Referee Korderas jumped out of the ring, trying to get the girls back, but they both turned to him and gave him a hard left, sending him sprawling.

This gave CM Punk his window of opportunity, as he made his way to the front row through the crowd. Trinity had by now almost won the test of strength, and Melina's head was mere inches away from the steel rail. The fans moved aside for Punk who had brought a pair of scissors! Trinity smiled gleefully as she held Melina's head for Punk to cut open. Punk then hesitated, and a look of confusion swept across his face as Melina pleaded with him not to do it. Punk shook off the reluctance and was about to cut Melina open when he let out a sigh of frustration as he dropped the scissors to the floor, unable to cut her! Trinity couldn't believe it, and this gave Melina the break she needed. She elbowed Trinity in the stomach, and smashed her head into the steel rail.

As Trinity writhed on the floor, Melina and Punk gazed at each other for a second or two, before Melina stomped away on Trinity's head. Ref Korderas slowly made his way back to his feet, and saw that a faint trail of blood was present on the floor. He went to check on Trinity, and called the match in Melina's favor.

Melina went back to the ring, and invited Punk to join her. Melina said that Punk did the right thing not cutting her open, that would be cheating, and besides, you couldn't do that to a woman. She then offered a hug and a handshake, and told Punk that as soon as Cabana was well, they would get a title shot, but for now, MNM had to focus on other problems. Punk was very hesitant at first, but slowly extended his hands towards Melina's. At the very same moment, both withdrew their hands! Punk grabbed the mic, saying that it seems that they Punk'd out each other.. a Punked draw. Melina replied by saying that no, there was no draw where MNM was. Only victories. Right then, Chris the Bambikiller ran in and clubbed CM Punk from behind. The big Austrian slugged away on Punk, who hit back. Punk was slowly winning the slugfest when Mercury and Nitro ran in as well, overwhelming Punk. the Bambikiller slung Punk over his shoulders and sent him crashing with some sort of inverted piledriver maneuver. Melina told Punk to say 'hi' to the newest member of MNM, "the Bavarian Butcher" Merciless!

Backstage
Rey and RVD are stretching in the locker-room, when Rey says it's time to condemn Orton to years of torment by the hands of Nutjob. RVD gets up, but his cell phone calls. RVD says he'll catch up with Rey and picks it up. It sounds like it's the same person as last time. RVD says that he and Rey are staunch allies, and that RVD hates Orton's guts as well. RVD then gets a little angry with the person on the other line, telling him that he couldn't do that, and that he wasn't like that. RVD hangs up, seemingly a little annoyed.

The Dojo (Dragon Kid, Naroki Doi & Genki Horiguchi) vs Rob van Dam & Rey Mysterio in a 3 vs 2 handicap match

the Dojo was Randy Orton's only hope for freedom, but would the three young lions from Japan be able to defeat the WWC Champion and the #1 contender in a handicap match? "Minefield" by Prodigy played as the three young men ran in to the ring with their dojo uniforms on, awaiting their big match.

Rey and RVD are two quick wrestlers, but they almost seemed slow in comparison with the Dojo, who ducked and jumped and kicked and tagged quicker than the eye could catch. Rey was seriously double and triple-teamed several times, and almost fell unconscious after the vicious GH-Lock from Horiguchi, an armscissors variation. Rey was finally able to make the tag, and RVD came out as a house on fire, sending Doi and Dragon Kid out of the ring, and taking Horiguchi down with a bodyslam, setting up for the Five Star Frog Splash. Genki rolled away, and the Dojo were in control again. If Orton sat in his cell and watched this, he must have been pleased, as it was now RVD who was caught in the ring, wanting to get the tag to the WWC Champ.

the Dojo were so in control now, maybe so in control that they started doing mistakes. Horiguchi and Doi carefully set RVD on the turnbuckle, as Dragon Kid charged in for the Dragon Rana. RVD leaped out, catching Dragon Kid with a leg lariat. He decked the two others with a double clothesline, finally making the hot tag to Rey Mysterio. Rey had rested for over five minutes now, and the Dojo just couldn't grab the little Mexican as he bounced off the ropes with a springboard dropkick on Doi, a tornado ddt on Horiguchi and a sitdown faceslam on Dragon Kid. Doi was in the 619 position now, and received the trademark maneuver. As RVD crashed down upon Dragon Kid with the Five Star Frog Splash, Rey connected with the WCP on Doi to win the match and condemn Orton to many years incarceration with his new cellmate, NUTJOB!

Short comments

Visiting small towns like Choctaw was something WWE rarely (if ever did). Now, with the new dawn of wrestling, small communities such as this may experience the stars of old (and new).

In a show where Rey Mysterio and RVD stole the night with their excellent, friendly bout, we saw quite some interesting results.

Even though with the help of their Bavarian Butcher, MNM couldn't hold the determined CM Punk and his trainer, Ace Steel at bay.

Elijah Burke picked up a big win over Ken Kennedy, who certainly needs to get rid of the ring rust soon. Gregory Helms held his own against Lashley for a while, before being smashed by the big guy, who is still undefeated in singles competition here in WWC.

The Dojo picked up an easy win against the Shane Twins, while Dusty Rhodes' guys won when Harry Smith couldn't escape the dreaded Dragon Sleeper.

The young guns from OVW, Albright and Cage came up short tonight, but showed some great wrestling. They are definetely someone to watch out for.
