GLWF Action TV: 7/9/05...

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  Tonight we're coming to you live from our home turf, the GLWF Arena in Kalamazoo, Michigan!

"Savage" Sonny Siaki vs. Shannon Moore

We all saw the way Siaki has been acting lately.  And he hasn't just been acting that way in the ring.  He's been acting that way out of the ring and has garnered the nickname "Savage" from everyone.  He doesn't just seem to be out of his mind, he seems almost to be mentally devolving into a more primitive state of mind.  Moore seemed to kinda know what he was up against tonight and tried to stay away and pick his openings carefully.  This worked for a little while, but one flub and Siaki was all over Moore like ants on ice cream.  He stunned more after ducking a clothesline attempt, immediately hitting a soviet suplex and followed it with the Siakolypse NOW for the win.

Sonny Siaki pinned Shannon Moore with the Siakolypse NOW in 0:05:59.
Rating: ** 3/4

A big wheel is rolled out from behind the curtain.  On it are a few different types of gimmick matches, nothing too off the wall though.  Ring announcer Clara Michaels reminds the fans that this is to determine how the GLWF Television title will be decided.  She spins the wheel after after a few seconds of spinning it finally stops... on a Four Corners Match!  Clara announces what it landed on and said that since it landed on a Four Corners Match that tonight in the main event, all four men remaining in the tournament (Harry Smith, Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson & H.B. Cade) will battle it out and we'll crown the first GLWF Television Champion before the night is out!

Josh Abercrombie vs. Raven

Raven was still pretty banged up here from his match with Siaki last week which was definitely to Abercrombie's advantage.  When Raven would get on the offensive it wasn't long before he's over exert himself and grab at his head or midsection and cringe in pain, at which point Abercrombie was more than happy to take over.  Abercrombie had a few near falls during the match, but Raven always toughed it out and got a shoulder up.  Abercrombie hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for two, then picked Raven up and ran into the ropes.  Raven hit a boot to the midsection upon Abercrombie's return and planted him with the Raven Effect, which you could tell, didn't feel to good for Raven either.  Raven did manage to get an arm draped across Abercrombie after a second or two to get the victory though.

Raven pinned Josh Abercrombie with the Raven Effect in 0:09:34.
Rating: *** 1/2

The Destruction Crew make their way to the ring with big smiles on their faces.  They inform the fans that the booking committee has decided to award them with the #1 Contender Spot instead of Shocker.  Shocker interrupts Lashley & Toland and begins to complain about how unfair this is, even hinting that the race card may have been at play.  The tells the Destruction Crew that they'll get theirs and that he'll see to it that they do.  The Destruction Crew don't seem to be taking Shocker's vague threats with much weight.

"The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill vs. Paul Burchill

Roadkill is still a new face in GLWF, this being only his second match, however Roadkill has been around the block more than Burchill has.  Power wise the two seemed pretty evenly match, though Burchill's style of power was a lot more outwardly aggressive.  The two exchanged a lot of blows and slams without either getting a real distinctive advantage over the other.  Burchill hit a backdrop driver and then noticed that Samoa Joe had emerged from the curtain and was watching the match from the entrance way.  Burchill let his attention slip away from Roadkill and started jawing at Joe, daring him to come down to the ring.  Joe just stood and smiled at him, not returning any words.  Eventually Burchill turned around and saw Roadkill was standing.  He charged at him with a lariat, but Roadkill ducked.  Burchill bounced off the far ropes... DIRT ROAD SLAM!  One... two... THREE!

Roadkill pinned Paul Burchill after the Dirt Road Slam in 0:06:41.
Rating: *** 1/2

Joe laughed at Burchill from the entrance way before going back behind the curtain.  It didn't take long for Burchill to recover, in fact, Roadkill was still in the ring celebrating.  Burchill was furious and attacked Roadkill from behind.  After a few punches and kicks in the corner he dragged him closer to the center of the ring... C4!!  C4 on Roadkill!  Burchill leaves the ring and stomps to the back.

Main Event Four Corners Match for the GLWF Television Title: "Bulldog" Harry Smith vs. "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade vs. Austin Aries vs. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

It was extremely hard for referee Mack Harrison to keep control of this match.  There were plenty of times when it regressed into pretty much a riot like state.  Everyone was firing on all cylinders tonight and it showed.  It was amazing that some of these guys kept going and going and going throughout the course of the match.  Every time you thought the match was about to end someone dive into the ring and break the pin or submission.  Things ended up with Smith and Cade brawling in the crowd and Austin Aries and Bryan Danielson being the legal men in the ring.  Danielson had gained control and kept it after crotching Aries on the top rope and hitting a belly-to-belly superplex.  After a little bit of wearing down Danielson locked on the Cattle Mutilation.  Unfortunately ref Mack Harrison had been knocked down by a stray kick and hadn't come to yet.  Danielson kept the hold locked in... and here comes Doug Williams!  AmDrag isn't in a position to see him coming down!  Williams breaks the submission and shoves Danielson into the corner... CHAOS THEORY!  Williams exits the ring.  The ref is starting to stir.  Aries slowly climbs up top... 450 Splash!  The ref counts it... one... two...Smith and Cade can't make it back to the ring in time... three!  We have our first GLWF Television Champion!

[Main Event]: Four Corners Match for the vacant GLWF Television title:
Austin Aries defeated Harry Smith, H.B. Cade and Bryan Danielson when Aries pinned B. Danielson with the 450 Splash in 0:27:48.
Rating: **** 3/4
(Austin Aries won the GLWF Television title.)
[Doug Williams interfered against Bryan Danielson.]

The saga of Williams and Danielson continues, this time it's kicked up a notch by costing Danielson the Television title.  What a night it's been here in Kalamazoo.  Next week promises to be a night packed to the brim with excitement too as we'll see Josh Abercrombie in action against "Savage" Sonny Siaki, Raven, "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade, and Ron "The Truth" Killings will battle in a triple threat match, Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller will once again defend the Great Lakes Tag Team titles against the Destruction Crew, and we'll hear from our newly crowned Television Champion Austin Aries!  Plus we've just gotten word that Paul Burchill has been granted a rematch against Roadkill!  Don't miss GLWF Action TV next week for all that great wrestling action!

I like that you're giving Sonny Siaki a gimmick and a personality that doesn't involve being a shorter Rock imitator. :-)

That was a match of the year contender for your main event match. It definitely establishes the TV Title as not just a stepping stone to the main title. It's a good way for the championship to get some recognition.
