It's only been three days since the 20th Royal Rumble, as WWC presents Smackdown from Cleveland, Ohio! Tonight, a new challenger for MNM's tag-team dynasty will be decided, Kid Kash gets a shot at the WWC World Heavyweight Championship, and will RVD follow up on his splendid performance at the Royal Rumble by defeating Test?

Backstage
We see Rob van Dam walking backstage. People passing him congratulate him on his magnificent Royal Rumble win, and a humble RVD thanks them before moving on. Suddenly, his cell phone beeps, and RVD answers it while walking. From the sound of it, it is someone RVD hasn't spoken with in a while, who congratulates him on his win. RVD then says he's looking forward to wrestling his friend Rey Mysterio for the title. RVD then gets a serious look on his face as he just mumbles "uh huh.. uh huh.. nah... uh huh.." to whomever is calling as he disappears out of range.

In ring
RVD walks down to the ring in street clothes, basking in the glory from the 1500+ attendance, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is WWC's most popular wrestler. RVD goes on to say that he survived 29 other wrestlers to become the top contender. He names previous Rumble winners, such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Triple H (boo), Batista (big cheer) and Brock Lesnar (big boo). RVD then said that the one thing they all had in common was that the win allowed them to square off with one of the best in the business, in his case, Rey Mysterio at the next Saturday Night Main Event, March 31.

The recently crowned champ Rey Mysterio came out to another loud pop. The masked luchadore said that he would be honored to wrestle RVD at SNME. He said he considered RVD to be his friend and staunch ally. The two shook hands and left the ring.

The Shane Twins (Mike & Todd Shane) vs Hart Foundation 2G (Harry Smith & Teddy Hart for the #1 Contendership to the WWC Tag Team Titles

Hart Foundation 2G came up short at the Royal Rumble when Melina and CM Punk worked together in order to eliminate Teddy Hart. Tonight, they would get a new chance at earning themselves a title shot, when they faced the Shane Twins, who have racked up a few wins at dark matches and live events, against the likes of Kendrick/London & Mexicools.

Harry Smith dominated Todd in the first few minutes, hitting him with a variety of moves, both techincally and powerful in nature. Todd and Mike pulled the old switcharoo on Teddy and Harry, keeping Harry grounded in the ring while Teddy bitched about it to referee Nick Patrick. Smith even got the tag once, but the Twins had the ref distracted, and the tag wasn't valid.

Finally, Harry made the tag, and Teddy came in and cleaned house, hitting the two powerhouses with hits and kicks before moving out of range. Teddy dropkicked Todd hard to the floor, and then he and his cousin sent Mike down with a double vertical suplex. Teddy went to the turnbuckles, and unlike at the Rumble, he got to execute the Hart Attack to perfection. Hart Foundation 2G are the new top contenders.

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Hart Foundation 2G (Teddy Hart and Harry Smith) defeated
The Shane Twins (Mike Shane and Todd Shane) when Teddy Hart pinned M. Shane
with the Hart Attack in 0:10:36.

Backstage
MNM are having the night off, but that doesn't stop them from being in a terrific mood, as they polish their belts. Melina smiles mischievously into the camera as she berates CM Punk for thinking he could outsmart her. Even though Punk may have won a few battles, it was obvious that she won the war. Every step of the way went as scheduled, Melina's tricks that helped Punk eliminate Hart, Punk abandoning his friend to come rescue her.. everything mapped out well in advance. Melina said men were so easily outsmarted, all a beautiful woman had to do was to use her womanly "charms", and they were sold. At this point, Melina's boyfriend, Johnny Nitro, started to get curios to just what she meant by that, but Melina quieted him down and told him to keep polishing the belt.

Gregory Helms vs Jamie Noble(c) for the WWC Strong-Style Champioship

Noble is the first ever Strong-Style champion, a title he himself invented a few days ago after winning the old Cruiserweight Title on Royal Rumble. Noble said that the CW Title had NO prestige, and that he was starting a new era. The Strong-style Championship could only be won through submission or KO, and Helms certainly showed he had learned some new tricks, as he forced Noble to use a lot of energy reaching for the ropes after some sort of arm scissors hold.

Helms even connected with the Shining Wizard, but since the title can not change hands on a pinfall, ref Korderas didn't act on it. Noble's manager, Dusty Rhodes tried to assist his client by attacking Helms with a bullwhip, but Helms took Rhodes' whip away, and started chasing him on the floor. This drew some heavy cheers from the crowd, showing that not all were on Noble's side. As Helms had Rhodes cornered, Noble jumped out with a plancha, sending both men crashing into the barricades. Noble slowly got back up first and locked on the Dragon Sleeper on the outside. Dusty Rhodes quickly get up on the apron, showing Korderas a piece of paper. Korderas jumps out of the ring and checks on Helms. No response from the former Hurricane, and the win goes to Noble. As Noble and Rhodes celebrate, Rhodes informs everyone that the Strong-Style championship can be won or retained anywhere in the arena.

Jamie Noble defeated Gregory Helms when Gregory Helms passed out in the
Dragon Sleeper in 0:10:21.

Interview
Josh Matthews interviews the pirate Burchill. At www.wwconfederation.com, the hottest newsflash from the Royal Rumble after-party was the fact that Burchill had actually knocked out Test over a lady. Matthews wanted confirmation about that. The jolly buccaneer said that all Burchill did was come to the rescue when he saw a damsel in distress. Test had apparently felt the need to let his hands roam wherever he felt on one of the serving wenches, and Burchill had taken it upon himself to be a good pirate. Burchill didn't know if something was brewing on the horizon, but if a storm was coming, Burchill was more than ready for it.

Test vs Rob Van Dam

Test had a sour look on his face, and even sported a black eye after what happened between Test and Burchill at the Royal Rumble afterparty. Test lost at the Rumble to Lashley, and had no easy task here against the #1 contender, Rob Van Dam!

RVD wrestled like a wildman in the opening minutes, assaulting Test from every angle with every portion of the body, even using a butt-bump in the corner. RVD was probably still high on adrenaline from winning the Royal Rumble, and when he started to tire, Test took over, hitting a quick powerslam and an elbowdrop. Test slowed the pace down, battering RVD both inside and outside of the ring. This was perhaps a mistake, as the slow pace made RVD gain his second wind. RVD wormed his way out of the Test Drive, and resolutely hit a leg lariat on the big man. RVD followed up with the Rolling Thunder, and went for the Frog Splash. Test kicked the ref into the ropes, crotching RVD. Test sent RVD into the ropes, but Van Dam ducked and hit a flying shoulderblock, sending Test down. He then ended the match with another Rolling Thunder, knocking the wind out of Test. He rolled him up for the pinfall.

Rob Van Dam pinned Test after Rolling Thunder in 0:10:55.

Backstage
CM Punk was sitting alone in a darkened room, a grim expression on his face. Punk says that even though he never trusted Melina, even though he knew it all to be a game of Punk, or be Punk'd, he didn't think she was capable of being so cold and ruthless. He had saved her from being crippled by Hart Foundation 2G, and he didn't even get a "thank you". Worse, his best friend in the whole world had been injured by Melina's goons in the ring, his elbow had been bent at impossible angles. And now? Cabana wouldn't even speak to him, wouldn't even return his phone calls. Punk didn't blame Cabana, and told Melina that MNM's days on the top are numbered, and if he had to take them down alone, he would do it.

William Regal vs Elijah Burke

This match came about after William Regal punched Burke's lights out after their dance-off on the Internet pre-show. Burke still sported a black eye (much like Test), and was less then enthusiastic as "the Blonde Bombshell" Beth Phoenix danced him to the ring.

Regal is recognized as one of the finer technical wrestlers in the world, but is often criticized for his lack of speed. This was evident tonight, as the quick Burke didn't only stay out of Regal's poisonous grasp, but when he was grabbed, he quickly countered the move to his own advantage, like when he alwas got the win after a small package. Regal desperately tried to soften Burke up with a series of rabbit punches, but Burke's resilience was too strong, he even reached the ropes when put in the Regal Stretch. The Brit saw only one way out of this, the knux! He tricked ref Robinson to check on Beth Phoenix, while trying to find his brass knuckles. As he turns around, Burke nails him with an elbow and the Elijah Experience to end the match. After the match, Elijah and Beth dance in the ring, and even invites Cole to dance with them. Even though Taz' gave him the stare of death, Cole gayly joined them in the ring for some dancing.

Elijah Burke pinned William Regal with the Elijah Experience in 0:11:29.
Rating: *** 3/4

As a defeated and humiliated Regal made his way out of the ring, the Brit turned and re-entered with a microphone. He told Elijah then we he first appeared in WWC, he saw him as a dancing, prancing, ridiculous fool. Well, he still feels Burke should drop the YMCA act, but one thing has changed. Regal now respects Burke and his in-ring abilities, and wants to shake hands to clear the air, and apologize for what happened at the Rumble. The crowd chanted for Burke to not shake his hand, but in the end, his joyful nature couldn't resist. Burke and Regal shook hands, and Regal put Burke even more over.

Rey Mysterio (c) vs Kid Kash for the WWC World Heavyweight Championship

Kid Kash gets a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship! Wow, Dusty Rhodes must have some great pull here in WWC, but Rey also said he would defend the title with honor anywhere, anytime. If Rey's entrance at the Royal Rumble was subdued, it was something else now. Rey took the time to high five nearly all the fans at ringside, proudly showing off his newly acquired title.

Rey sent Kash spinning around the ring with a series of armdrags to start the match off. Excellent lucha action. Rey may have underestimated Kash a little, as he went for the WCP early on but was met with a dropkick. Kash then tried to remove Rey's mask, and when that didn't work out, he took a page out of Jamie Noble's textbook when he wore Rey down with several submission moves, trying to take out Rey's agile legs.

At about the 12th minute mark, Rey had started to come back into the match, slugging away at Kash with his small fists. Ever the opportunist, Dusty Rhodes saw this and distracted the ref long enough for Kash to low-blow Rey. Kash then sent him down with the Death Penalty, but Rey Mysterio will NOT DIE, and kicked out as he started to hulk up, bouncing into the ropes and hit a dropkick to the knees, then a sitdown faceslam. Rey ran into the ropes and knocked down Dusty Rhodes on the apron, then flipped of the ropes with a picture perfect ropeflip moonsault to retain.

Rey Misterio pinned Kid Kash after a ropeflip moonsault in 0:14:56.

(Rey Misterio retained the World Heavyweight Championship.)

As Rey poses for the crowd, Randy Orton appears on the small big-screen, dressed in an orange prison suit. Orton is distraught, and pleads with Rey to drop the charges. He tells Rey that nothing bad would have happened with his familiy, it was just a big joke.. yes, that's what it was. They were all watching cartoons all day, and his wife got a pedigree.. not the Triple H variant.. Orton continued on for a while with his lame excuses, and asked Mysterio if he knew what they would do with a pretty boy like him in prison.

It looked like Rey would forgive and forget like a good Christian, but then, all of a sudden, three Japanese dudes in martial arts outfits run in, attacking Rey with a flurry of kicks and punches as Orton disappears from the screen. Rey is really getting his ass kicked, when RVD runs in with a chair, hitting two of the Asian guys before the third one connects with a dropkick, sending the chair straight into RVD's face. He chops away on RVD before sending him over the ring with a spin kick. They pick up Rey, and yell in broken English that he cost them big money when he beat Randy Orton, and that he should pay them... in blood! London, Kendrick, Nunzio, Burke, Regal and Burchill run down to the ring to chase the Japanese guys back through the crowd.

The show ends with the faces slowly helping a wounded Rey out of the ring, but leaves us with many questions unanswered. Who where the Japanese guys? What are their connection to Randy Orton? Will Test do something about that black eye of his? What does CM Punk have in store for MNM? And what will they do in prison with a pretty boy like Randy Orton?

*** News and Rumors in WWC ***

The three Japanese guys were DragonDoor's Genki Horiguchi, Dragon Kid and Naruki Doi, three very talented young lions from the far east.

Brent Albright, Chris Cage and Chris the Bambikiller will be working dark matches and live events in the future, and is reckoned to be the next three OVW wrestlers to make it to WWC. It is rumored that the Bambikiller's performance at the Royal Rumble may catapult him straight to WWC soon, albeit with a name change.

Expect Paul Heyman to make an on-screen appearance soon.

When Vince & Linda McMahon died and WWE folded, Brock Lesnar promptly filed a case to be allowed to work in the US again. The reason why both WWC's and WEW's lawyers have fought against this is due to the fact that Lesnar will probably sign with TNA. As TNA also recently signed Goldberg, Brock Lesnar signing with the Jarrett's will be a major blow for the McMahon siblings (unless they plan to put the two of them in a match, that is).

Charlie Haas opted not to sign with WWC full-time, as he will be a stay-at-home dad with his newborn daughter. It seems Miss Jackie is wearing the pants in that family..

MatteusPosted on 05/16/06 at 20:55:35

RVD/Rey Mysterio should be great. It'll be interesting to see how the build up goes.

Hart Foundation 2G vs. MNM... I'm guessing CM Punk will have something to do with MNM losing the straps. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Hart and Smith took the belts off of them.

The Strong Style title is going to be interesting. I liked the idea when you first said it, and I still think it's cool, but the title defence tonight was a tad underwhelming I guess. That may just be that I'm tired, too, so take it with a grain of salt, lol. Again though, I love Dusty Rhodes and Jamie Noble ;)

Interesting use of the whole "worked shoot" thing WWE seems to be doing nowadays, using the website to start angles in the form of breaking news. I likes it a lot!

Great CM Punk promo. That's all.

Elijah Burke still needs to grow on me, but if you keep Michael Cole dancing "gayly" with him I may just end up loving the angle :P ... Regal giving him the rub is a good move too.

Great main event and even better after-story. I like the three Japanese guys and can only hope one of them is Jimmy Yang. Wish they would've come down in black business suits and had more of a Yakuza feel, but the angle's off to a great start.

Sorry I was so serious with my comments... I'll be more sarcastic and goofy after I get some rest ;)

With the nature of the company, it's a little underwhelming that RVD wins the Rumble and gets his title shot at a SNME.  Should be a great match though.

Elijah Burke dancing with Michael Cole in the gayly-est of fashions rules hard.

Good show... sorry I don't have more specifics to say.  Nothing too good, but nothing too bad either.  Such a small house though... only 1619?

I know, but I'm sorta trying to revert back to the old-school WWF schedule. I have PPVs every other month, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Halloween Havoc, and then 3 Saturday Night Main Events a year. They're really PPV's, they're just called SNME.

Well, after WWE fractioned, the wrestling world plummeted. WWC is really only a little bigger than RoH is now, but with PPV's and a TV slot. In this alternate universe, TNA is actually closest to Global status, and may very well achieve it quite soon. The RAW brand (Wrestling Entertainment Weekly) is also bigger than WWC, even though they focus on over-the-top storylines, larger-than-life characters and a lot of Diva fights.

Are you using that other program (I forget, TEW?) to run other promotions or are you just saying that basically as you envision this all playing out, TNA is closest to Global status, etc.?
rey619Posted on 05/17/06 at 01:18:01

I guess I use a lot of TEW terminology, but I am only using my imagination. My initial plan was to use Socko's Finance Spreadsheet to sim all three circuits, and only elaborate on WWC, but that took too much time.
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/17/06 at 06:54:27

I'm really looking forward to SNME, mainly because of RVD and Rey Rey goin at it.

YES! You know how I like it huh? lol. The Hart Foundation picking up the win here to get a chance to get a title shot at MNM, two great teams.

Hey yo Rey619, its like... 1245 at night, im sick, and about to go to bed. I'm gonna be a real lazy jerk and just ask you what the idea of the Strong-Style title is.
After that, I'll get more in-depth in the feedback,

LOL! I love it, Burchill and Test doin the shoot stuff, I love shoot angles cuz im a huge ECW fan so u goin over big on me :-). Wow, test just can't catch a break here huh? Well, I wouldn't expect him to against RVD...

The setting of CM Punk's promos remind me of Raven's old promos. I like it, dark, mysteriosu, and devious.

I like the post-main event story. Tajiri would be a cool idea for one of the guys,

I don't wanna think what they'll do with a "perrtyy" boy like Orton in prison, (disguisted face)

-I'm just gonna keep backtracking on ur promotion so  I know exactly what the wrestler's characters are, but so far good. job

The Strong-Style title can only be won through submission or KO, and is a title Jamie Noble "invented" when he won the Cruiserweight Title from Gregory Helms. He felt that the Cruiserweight title had no value since it had been treated like shit for so many years.
