PWL Combat Evolved (5-8-06)

The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/08/06 at 18:22:32

The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) defeated
America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) when M. Briscoe made
C. Harris submit to a Canadian backbreaker in 0:16:44.
Rating: **** 1/4

Jay and Mark Briscoe take on AMW, both teams first matches in PWL.
Mark Briscoe's debut match here in PWL, and it was nothing short of
special. During the match, Chris Harris tried to execute a top rope
legdrop onto Jay Briscoe who was out cold outside, but Mark dragged
Jay out of the way in time so Chris would hit nothing but concrete!
This kept Chris out of the match for the majority, causing a lot of
pain on his lower back area. This left James Storm to take on the
ROH Alumnis... and it was a brutal beating. Harris finally managed
to get back up, and Storm made a quick tag. Harris slowly climbed
to the top rope, attempted a cross body block, and was caught by Mark!
He then executed a Canadian Backbreaker, and put Harris into a great
deal of pain. In the middle of the ring, he had no choice but to give up.

AJ Styles pinned Amazing Red with the Styles Clash in 0:14:14.
Rating: *** 1/2
(AJ Styles retained the PWL Television Title.)

AJ Styles continues his PWL streak, 3 wins within the last four weeks.
This week was a special win, beating his former tag partner with the
Styles Clash. The two shook hands after the bout, knowing they will see
each other again at Infiltrate & Destory.

Interview:
Carlito's music hits and he comes out to the ring with a lot of heat from the
crowd.

(Crowd chants "Your not Cool!)

Carlito- Trust me, if anyone doesn't know what cool is, its
people from Texas! (BOO) You people hit your own wifes,
that is not cool. So just shut up, sit back, and listen to
Carlito speak. Last week, I came out here to break and old
man's spirit. Ric Flair. The Living Legend. When I was done
with him, it looked like he wasn't living anynmore. Well let
me get to the point on why I came out here. Flair, I want you
in a World Title Match, at tonight! (Crowd Pop, Carlito waits)
C'mon Flair! (No Music) Oh okay, so you wanna chicken your way
out of this one. I understand, you just don't wanna lose to
Carlito again. (Still, no music.) I'll be down here later tonight,
ready to wrestle. You better meet me in this ring Flair, or else
I will come back there and make a joke out of you like I did
last week.

Brock Lesnar defeated Dean Malenko by disqualification in 0:01:02.
Rating: **
[Masato Tanaka interfered against Brock Lesnar.]

This match didn't last long at all, due to another Tanaka/Lesnar brawl!
These two hate each other, and would like nothing more than to rip each
other apart, literally! They brawled to the back, and this time it didn't
end by security pulling them apart. Lesnar gave Tanaka a low-blow in the
cafateria, cleared the table of food. He set up Tanaka for a powerbomb, and
he does it through the table! Lesnar spat on Tanaka, and walks away.

============================

Bryan Danielson and William Regal defeated CM Punk and Chris Sabin when
B. Danielson defeated C. Sabin when C. Sabin passed out in the Cattle Mutilation
in 0:08:17.
Rating: ***

Trainer and Trainee team up in this match to take on Anarchy. Bryan
Daneilson got offered a PWL deal over the weekend, and was brought up
right away, and rightfully so. While Danielson slapped on the Cattle
Mutilation, William Regal came in and knocked CM Punk out with the
brass knuckles! Chris Sabin with nowhere to go taps out, giving Danielson
and Regal the win.

============================

Christopher Daniels pinned Shawn Michaels with the Last Rites in 0:08:49.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Raven interfered against Shawn Michaels.]

The Gathering is just getting darker and darker each week. This week
Daniels took on Michaels in an attemp to increase their glory, and
he couldn't do it alone. About, five minutes into the match, HBK laid
Daniels out with the SCM, and went for the pin. Raven saved Daniels by
putting his foot on the rope. Michaels quickly realized that Raven would
beocme a problem for him, and ran outside and smacked a distracte Raven
with a chair! Daniels is angered by this, quickly gets up and executes a
suicide dive outside the ring at Shawn, but misses and busts himself open
on the gate. Michaels drags the bloddied Daniels into the ring, and is just
toying with him. HBK goes to the corner to put Daniels down even further and
do the BMS, but Raven smacks HBK in the head with a chair. Daniels slowly
gets up, and gives Michaels his Last Rites.

============================

Interview:
When we come back from the break, Carlito is in the ring and ready to fight.

Flair's music hits and the crowd goes absolutly wild. Flair
struts his way down to the ring, but is dressed in his work
clothes. Flair grabs a microphone, and waits for the crowd
to quiet down. Flair tells Carlito, that he must be out of his
mind thinking that Flair will defend his title a week after
suffering a great beating. Flair tells that tonights match
will not happen, not only is Carlito dissapointed by this,
but so is the crowd. The World Champion then makes an offer
Carlito cannot refuse--- at Infiltrate & Destroy, Ric Flair
and Carlito will go face to face, in a cage match! Carlito
grabs the microphone from Flair, and tells him its a deal!
As soon as Carlito turns his back to get out of the ring,
Flair nails him with the belt! He continues his assault
and slaps on the Figure Four Leg Lock. Carlito is writhing
in pain as the credits for PWL CE come up, and the screen
fades to black.

Television Title Turmoil
TV Champion vs Champ's title defenses

More to come!!!

_________________________________________________
TV Title Turmoil Rules- Lets take this week for example. AJ Styles
defeated Amazing Red, and Jay Briscoe two weeks ago. And lets say
he defends the title against wrestler X and Y in the next two weeks.
At that month's PPV, he will defend his title against all of his
opponents he faced earlier that month. So it would look like this...

===
TV Title Turmoil
AJ Styles vs Jay Brisoce vs Amazing Red vs X vs Y
===

And if AJ lost it to Amazing Red and he went on to keep his title
until the end of the month, it would look like this.

===
TV Title Turmoil
Amazing Red vs X vs Y

so if there are any questions... please ask.

Good debut for the two new teams, though I was rooting for AMW.  Ah well.  Can't have everything you want. :)

Styles retains the TV Title over Red... nothing overly special there, but a solid match.

Carlito rules so hard.

Good ol' fashioned brawl from Lesnar and Tanaka... give them some FCA rules, dammit! :)

Danielson with Regal is an odd combination, but one I can see working.  Good tag match there.

Wow... even with all the interference, I didn't see HBK losing that match.  He's not going to be happy about it though, I'm sure.

Flair vs. Carlito in a cage!  Yay!

The TV Title Turmoil is a little too confusing.  I'm all for interesting stips, but this one might be slightly overbooked.  I'll probably have to wait until the PPV to see if it makes sense. :)
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/08/06 at 18:49:02

Yeah I expected people to be confused by it, and I hope that after I do the PPV, it will explain it a little better. I tried to explain it the best I could, but it IS a hard concept. Thanks for the feedback Ryan.
Snabbit888Posted on 05/08/06 at 19:06:59

I think I understand the concept, I'm just a little confused on why if Styles loses the belt, he doesn't get a chance to regain it at the PPV, but all of the wrestlers who would lose to the new champion get another shot.
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/08/06 at 19:21:52

Ah ha. Good point. Okay... and all ex-champions of that month will go into the turmoil. Good point bro. :-)
MatteusPosted on 05/08/06 at 20:26:27

Good tag team opener. I'd rather have seen AMW win, but I know you're a Briscoes mark, so I'll keep my mouth shut ::)

I'm with Ryan. I mean you do things your way so you enjoy it, but I'm a little confused as to the TV title rules. It's different, but I'll have to see where it goes.

Carlito's awesome. I know Flair's probably gonna mop the floor with him, but he's soo awesome and great in this role.

Lesnar and Tanaka!! Poor Dean Malenko. How could you put him in the ring against Lesnar?! That's cruel! I can't wait for Lesnar/Tanaka 2 ... I hope it's hardcore rules too ;D

Anarchy loses again... and CS Punk is gone :P, but I like the team of AmDragon and Regal. It should be interesting to watch and make for some great matches. Your tag division is starting out really strong.

Wow, didn't see Daniels going over there either, but a Gathering-HBK feud should be nice if you decide to run with it.

Flair-Carlito! In a cage! Sweetness! I can't wait!

A much better show and a good follow-up, Bizz! Keep it up!
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/08/06 at 20:35:29

I might scrap the TV Title Turmoil due to all the confusion, it is a confusing match. Even I missed some points. Hell, it was worth a shot tho.
Snabbit888Posted on 05/08/06 at 20:38:11

I wouldn't say scrap it... just tweak it slightly. :)
MatteusPosted on 05/08/06 at 20:54:05

Right. I think it's an interesting twist to the TV belt, as in you face everyone you fought on TV at the PPV. But if Styles loses it to wrestler X, wrestler X should still face Styles at the PPV b/c he faced Styles for the title in the past month. Just a thought... do you, man ;)
rey619Posted on 05/08/06 at 21:08:23

Briscoes vs AMW is one of the top tag-team dream matches of the Indies.. just like AMW vs Dudleyz.. no, wait, that DID happen ;D

Red's not one of my favorites, so glad to see AJ went over. Don't see a title change in the near future, that's for sure.

Brock and Tanaka feuding? Color me interested, this just screams pain and suffering.

Yay to Regal and Danielson teaming up. Punk and Sabin seems like an odd combo to me, so the right team won.

Would've thought Michaels had the experience to not fall into the Gathering's trap. Raven and Daniels make an interesting duo.

While I'm not thrilled by the idea of Flair with the title, you're doing a good job bringing him into feuds with opponents of the same size (Carlito), while keeping the hosses occupied elsewhere (like the Lesnar vs Tanaka feud). Don't think Carlito'll be the one to take away the title, though.
The Bizz 2.0Posted on 05/08/06 at 21:35:30

Thank you folr the feedback rey619 ;D.

Oh, and about the TV Title Turmoil, I came up with a better idea.

Three Way Dance
Champion vs X vs Y

X&Y will be chosen in a lottery pick, where the contestants of the lottery pick will the the wrestlers who fought in a TV Title Match that month. Makes a lot more sense, yes?
Snabbit888Posted on 05/08/06 at 23:24:28

I like that idea better, Bizz.
