i'm doing a WWF fed, picking up from 1987/88. I'm using all wrestlers that were active during the time span as I move forward. Anyway, when I get to 1990 in my fed, I'm gonna try to use 'Taker. But my problem is not knowing how to really introduce and use him. Who has used 'Taker before and found it easy to book him as heel/face, main event and how quickly? It just seems to me that your options are limited when using him. Same kinda goes for Kane...mostly only introducing him. I don't want to repeat the original WWF storyline in my fed. Any thoughts or ideas??

I think just a series of creepy vignettes could be enough.

I dunno.. I think viginettes would kill the mystique a little. Taker's whole entrance slow walk has always been the best thing about his character.

I'd say introduce him as a heel, answering an open challenge that any face throws out. You can start him at the bottom, but for more impact, have him come out and tombstone a top (title-holding?) face, then leave (it may or may not even be an official match). Then on the next show you can either tombstone someone else, or have him (or his manager) explain his actions.

thats not a bad idea at all....I'll definitely remember that when it comes time to use him....thanks!

To offer my two cents on the whole piece, it is rare for a face to put up an open challenge, usually a heel tactic.  Taker's original appearance at Survivor Series was so incredibly unexpected, and that was the beauty of it.  He was f'n scary looking, and just plain creepy, furthermore, the fact that no-one else had any idea who he was, just simply added to the effect.

My money says, bring him in with that same air of mystique.  Even, add some randomness.  Have him attack the top face for no *apparent* reason.  And bodybag him.  That was always major heat.

Some ideas,
