Match Length

currentlyeddiePosted on 03/04/06 at 16:05:48

How exactly does the "typical Match Length" setting work? And is there a way to just set the length of a match or card? Say I want a card totalling an hour in length, can I do that?
rey619Posted on 03/04/06 at 17:07:09

Unfortunately not, though it is a feature that myself and several others have voiced our desire for, so it may just happen in a future build.
ZedjaPosted on 03/04/06 at 19:15:50

But can't you set match length if you book a match?? Been a while since I did any booking except picking a winner so I can't remember.
rey619Posted on 03/04/06 at 19:41:39

Not unless you book a winner...
ZedjaPosted on 03/04/06 at 20:32:59

Exactly ;) So the answer is yes ;D you can. BUT you have to book the winner to do so.
rey619Posted on 03/04/06 at 21:20:19

Yeah, true.. I still want the option of setting the match length without picking the winner, though.
currentlyeddiePosted on 03/05/06 at 09:28:23

There's a way.

With Match limit set to Standard, Book the Match. Assign a spot of Pin excuted by Any to Any, with a pinning move set to any or finisher as you wish. Set the time as the predicted end of the match, say 08:30 (8 min 30 sec).

It will result in subs, too, and may happen a little bit after your projected end. But there it is. Not sure if it'll work in FCA Squared.

You are a genius Eddie... it actually works! The only problem now is that he never seems to finish the match with his finisher. I restarted a match between William Regal and Bobby Quance like ten times, and they used all sorts of low impact maneuvers to win the match (back suplexes, dropkicks, legsweeps, etc), but that can possible be mended by setting the percentage of finishers in TweakCirc?

currentlyeddiePosted on 03/05/06 at 20:54:09

That, or choosing "finisher" instead of "any" as the spot preformered; it depends on whether you want to see those finishers everytime or not.

Wow. I came up with a TNM hack. Good for me!

The reason this matters is, I co-run an e-fed with players, and TNM serves as our "dice" to assure people we ain't playing favorites; you earn Push and Heat by Rping. I use heat to decide how long a match should go with a spreadsheet. Our regular shows are "an hour" long; this let-s me time that so it feels right.

My only wish now for a TNM feature is for the FCA Squared code to miraculously reappear and the plugin to be updated so I can export those to an HTML tree... *sigh*. Cut and paste for now, eh what?
Snabbit888Posted on 03/05/06 at 22:24:31

That, and for FCA Squared to not be an awful, awful plugin. :)
currentlyeddiePosted on 03/06/06 at 01:18:32

GASP! Sacrilege!

Now, some of the matches people have come up with to run IN FCA
2, maybe...
americamamushiPosted on 03/06/06 at 01:58:14

FCA is just awful because its so buggy.
currentlyeddiePosted on 03/06/06 at 03:12:25

Okay, granted. Another reason I wish the cade was active-- it could be de-bugged.
CrplsPosted on 03/07/06 at 03:10:09

The only reason I ever ended up using FCA Cubed was so I could have tornado tag matches.
