Website Update (Finally!)

Well, same updates as usual.  I did have to eliminate a few of the smaller promotions that were using wrestlers from other promotions, to cut down on the titles.  Just too much work right now.

Two new "supercards" this time around.  Starrcade originates from both Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC.  Yep, I know, those shows were not around in '78,   ;D

Anyways, which one would you attend?

Charlotte:

I'd pick the GCW version of StarrCade over the Mid-Atlantic one just for the sheer factor of watching Michael Hayes walk out of the match against the Warrior.  Rude and Bad News would be a great technical match-up as would Brisco and Flair.  Plus we know that if Bockwinkel beats Dusty for the NWA World Title, that the belt will move to Minnesota and never leave the possession of Verne Gagne.

On a side note Texan, you may want to check out the titles on each of your sites pages.  Right now the new updates all read "Mid-", instead of their normal circuit territory names.

I'm confused on what this really is.  Are you actually running all of these cards (which there must be hundreds and hundreds all together), or is this....I guess I would have no idea what else it is.  Anyway, it looks extremely extensive, and I'm interested to hear some backstory on what you're doing.

Branden -

Basically, I'm trying to loosely recreate the territory days of wrestling, between 1977 - 1989.  I'm using the most recognized named wrestlers of this time period, and also most of the titles during that time.   In addition, the World Champions (NWA, AWA, and WWF) will travel around the world, to defend their titles.

I realize some of the wrestlers did not start in '77, and others were not around by '89, but I thought it would be a fun idea to mix and match, and see some matchups that did and did not take place, during that era.

I had to create many of the wrestlers, which are not as accurate as I'd like, but they seem to work out okay for the most part.

Since my time is limited, I only run title matches within the respective promotions.  I think I'm down to 100 titles now, since I've closed a few of the smaller territories....for now.  In order to rank the wrestlers, I created a small random points generator program, based on a wrestler's push, charisma, workrate, and stamina.    Those individual points are applied to each wrestler, or tag team, and then ranked from 1 to 10.  Of course, the higher ranked wrestlers within a promotion will get the title matches.

I then use TNM to run those title matches.

I do have "super cards",  like the ones you see on the website, and make an entire card from one promotion.

It's fun for me, but it can be time consuming, especially when other things come up that take me away from it.

Okay, that's very interesting.  It's a fun idea, and I am now intrigued.  I'll have to check it out more closely when I get a chance.   :)

I'll be in Charlotte.. I think the've got the stronger card overall with Dusty, Road Warriors, Hennig & Hall, and the main man himself: Greg Valentine!
