UW Fury (4/24/06)

Dark Match:
Damaja pinned Super Crazy with the Brain Damage in 8:47.
Rating: ** 1/2

Dark Match:
Austin Aries pinned Paul London with the 450 Splash in 8:37.
Rating: **

We start off with a video montage recap of last week's main event, including Generation Next interfering and Gregory Shane Helms hitting Monty Brown with a chair and costing him the match and a shot at the World title. It ends with us seeing, for the first time, Brown's reaction after the match as he sees Gen Next smiling, laughing, and waving from the top of the entrance ramp.

"Straight Up" Mikey Batts vs. Gregory Shane Helms

We opened up with the match already in progress, as Helms was in complete control of Batts. He charged the corner, but Batts moved and Helms crashed. Batts rolled him up but only got two! Batts tossed him outside and worked him over out there, throwing him back inside and hitting a slingshot legdrop for two. He wore Helms down and went for the Batts Blaster, but Austin Aries and Alex Shelley jumped on the apron and Batts chased them off. When he came back, Helms was waiting for him and hooked a crucifix but gets two. Helms soon went for the Shining Wizard but missed and Batts bounded off the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Helms hooked a second crucifix, but this time held on for the pinfall!

Gregory Shane Helms pinned Mikey Batts after a crucifix in 12:18.
Rating: *** 1/4

After the match, Generation Next attacked Mikey Batts and rolled his lifeless body out of the ring. Helms took the mic and said that the fans have been asking him the same question all week. Why did Gen Next attack The Alpha Male last week? Helms said that they are Generation Next, they're the future of professional wrestling. They are evolution in this industry, and big muscle-bound goons like Monty Brown are history. They can't allow Brown to become the future of wrestling and ruin it for the people who actually have wrestling skill. This brought The Alpha Male out, as he charged toward the ring furiously and Gen Next scattered, dropping the microphone in the ring. Brown asked how they plan on being the future when he's going to end up destroying them all. He challenged Helms to a match at No Justice, but he told Brown he's not in Helms' league. He has to earn a chance to step in the ring with Gregory Shane Helms. So at No Justice, it'll be Monty Brown against Alex Shelley! Shelley was shocked and tried to talk Helms out of it, but Brown accepted and it's on!

Backstage, UW World champion Jeff Jarrett is being interviewed. When asked why he no-showed last week's show, Jarrett tells Josh Mathews to shut his mouth. He said his no-show was for valid reasons and he's appealing the suspension. That means tonight he gets to get his hands on the Top Contender and soften him up before No Justice. Jarrett said that he was the best for a reason, and when he and Booker faced off in WCW, Jarrett was younger and more gullible. Now he's the King of the Mountain, the UW World champ, and Booker hasn't done anything meaningful in years. That won't change on Jarrett's account, and this Saturday he's walking out of the ring as the World champ. And whoever comes out of the Top Contenders match victorious, he'll be waiting because they have a date with the King.

Team Canada (Bobby Roode and Eric Young) vs. "Cocky" Sonny Siaki and Steven Richards

This was Team Canada's first two-on-two tag team match since UW's hiatus, and they were apparently unprepared for the unorthodox pairing of Siaki and Richards. Siaki started out slugging away on the more lightweight Eric Young. Richards tagged in and used his technical ability to keep him grounded. He went for the Stevie-T early, but Young blocked his attempt and Siaki came in to take control. Young finally ducked a double clothesline and hit a clothesline of his own, and made the hot tag to Roode who came in and went house-of-fire on both Siaki and Richards. He sent Siaki to the outside and Team Canada double teamed Richards until Young was tagged back in and reversed another Stevie-T attempt into a Death Valley Driver for the pinfall.

After the commercial, UW North American champion Shelton Benjamin came out to be interviewed by Michael Cole, but Bejmain immediately called out Edge. The Rated R Superstar came out to a deluge of boos and got right in the champ's face. Edge said that the only reason Shelton Benjamin was standing in the ring with that belt around his waist was because of him. If he didn't come down last week, Petey Williams would have hit that Canadian Destroyer and HE'D be the one standing in the ring right now. But Edge couldn't stand the idea of Petey having a belt and Edge not, so now he's sitting somewhere in the locker room crying about opportunities lost. And Edge is coming out to claim what's rightfully his, and he challenges Shelton for the title at No Justice. Shelton grabs the mic and says there's only one person whose ass he'd like to beat right now more than Edge and that's Petey Williams. He didn't get to finish him off proper last week, and Shelton doesn't leave a fight until it's finished and he's the only one left standing. So he wants Petey at No Justice. Matteus came out and said that tonight, Edge will have his chance to show that he deserves a title shot when he faces Benjamin in a non-title match! If he wins, he gets that title shot this Saturday at No Justice! Otherwise, the match and title shot goes to Petey Williams!

In the back, we saw that Triple H was walking out toward the ring when he was stopped by Josh Mathews. He asked The Game what his plan for Randy Orton was in tonight's Pick Your Poison match. Hunter says that last week, Orton tried to get the best of him by picking a sick and twisted individual to try and take him out. Tonight, he's going to one-up The Legend Killer once again. When Mathews asks what he means, Triple H tells him to just wait and see...

After the commercial, Triple H came out to huge cheers and walked toward the ring with a somewhat twisted smile on his face. Coach comments that we sometimes forget that while the fans seem to have grown to love the egotistical superstar, he's not doing much of anything different than he was when they all booed him previously. Cole says that a man slugging you in the knee with a steel pipe and trying to end your career can give you sympathy, but the fans seem to genuinely enjoy The Game. Triple H called out Randy Orton and the Legend Killer came out smiling confidently. He came into the ring and stayed away from Triple H, leaning in the corner instead. Triple H said last week, Orton got O'Haire to be his opponent for Pick Your Poison. It was a smart move. O'Haire is a twisted individual and he definitely gave Trips a fight. But Triple H was approached by an even more ruthless individual who wanted to face Orton this week... and that individual was Charlie Haas! The fans go nuts, happy to see that Charlie Haas seemed to have finally come to his senses. He walked to the ring and stared down Orton. Randy looked shocked and downright frightened at the prospect of facing Haas! Triple H chuckled and told Haas to take care of business. He walked up from behind and patted Haas on the shoulder, and Charlie grabbed his hand and twisted his arm, locking Triple H in a violent armbar! He rocked back and forth so harshly and cranked back on his arm as Randy Orton's face suddenly went from worried to satisfied. He told Haas to keep the pressure on as he grabbed the mic. Randy had to shout over Triple H's screaming, but he told The Game that the only reason he was approached by Haas was because he was in Orton's pocket! While Charlie Haas may be mentally unstable, he's not stupid and he knows how to make a good living. He told Haas to let go, and he did. But the damage was done and Trips was writhing in pain. Orton told him he'd see him at No Justice and spat in his face! As he and Haas walked away, Triple H was left in a heap in the middle of the ring...

After the commercial, we saw a recap of JBL defeating Damaja last week and John Cena announcing that there would be a handicap match at No Justice as Damaja would team with Cena and Orlando Jordan to face JBL and "The Machine" Doug Basham!

John Cena vs. "The Machine" Doug Basham

This was a preview of what's to come at No Justice, but the sides were even for the moment. Doug Basham had started growing his hair out and growing a beard and mustache he used to have in his OVW days, though it was not as noticeable as it used to be it was clear what his intentions were. These two tore into one another from the opening bell, and like last week's JBL-Damaja match it was another punch and kick festival. But it was violent while it lasted, and Cena really was in control for the majority of the match. He hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle early and got only two, but when he went to pump up his sneakers in preparation of the F-U, Basham rolled out of the ring and simply walked away fro the count-out!

John Cena defeated Doug Basham by count-out in 5:28.
Rating: **

With Cena watching as Basham walked away, we saw why he took the loss that way. JBL came up from behind and nailed John Cena with a Clothesline from Hell! Cena was laid out on the canvas and Basham ran toward the ring and they put the boots to Cena. Orlando Jordan and Damaja rushed the ring and the two men scurried out of the ring, but they've gotten the better of their opponents for No Justice for the last two weeks? How can they overcome the odds this Saturday?

We cut backstage next, where Chavo Guerrero was speaking with Mikey Batts, offering him tips and tricks after his loss to Gregory Shane Helms. Batts made a hasty retreat mid-sentence and Chavo turned around to see that Sean O'haire was standing behind him! O'Haire said that he knows Chavo is still grieving over the loss of his uncle, as he motioned to the black EG armband he still sports on his bicep. Sean said that the fans don't really like Chavo, they just feel sorry for him. Why do you think they chant "Eddie" every time he's out there? They don't want to see Chavo. Chavo is not Eddie, and Sean asked what he's going to do about it. Chavo said the fans just miss Eddie and they're carrying on his legacy, like he was. O'Haire stopped him, saying that the fans should be chanting Chavo's name... he said it's okay to be angry at the fans over that. They never did anything for him... it's what Eddie would have wanted. On saying this, Chavo clocked O'Haire and started pummeling him! O'Haire fought back and the two men got separated by the UW Squad...

Non-Title Match: Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. "The Rated R Superstar" Edge

If Edge wins, he'll get the title shot at No Justice! The North American champ sought to make sure Edge's cheap shots last week didn't pay, however, as he attacked Edge with everything he had from the opening bell. Most high-risk wrestlers are in constant danger of being taken down after missing a risky move, but Benjamin is a different wrestler in that he's very calculated. This showed in the beginning of the match, as Shelton rarely made a mistake and kept Edge off his feet, but he wasn't able to put the Rated R Superstar away. Edge caught his foot when Benjamin went to kick him in the gut and when Shelton went for the Dragon Whip he ducked and Shelton hit the mat hard. Edge hooked him in a front facelock and tried to wear the champ down. As he was facing away from the entrance ramp, Petey Williams walked down with a smile on his face. Edge continued to wear down Benjamin and hit the Edgecution for two. He hit a DDT and went for the cover, but pulled up when he saw Petey at ringside. Petey waved and got up on the apron. Edge jawed with him and then ran to the corner and told him to watch this, because this Saturday he'll be winning the North American title this way. As Shelton got to his feet, Edge charged but ran toward Petey Williams to deliver a Spear! But at the last second, Petey jumped down and Eric Young came from under the ring and smacked Edge in the face with a steel chair! Edge was dazed and was met by Benjamin when he turned around. Shelton hit the T-Bone and the ref counted the pinfall!

Shelton Benjamin pinned Edge with the T-Bone in 6:44.
Rating: ** 3/4
[Eric Young interfered against Edge.]

It's going to be Shelton Benjamin defending the North American title against Team Canada's Petey Williams at No Justice! Edge is out cold and Shelton sees Petey and Eric Young walking up the ramp laughing. Shelton grabs his belt and looks pissed as he goes toward the back as we go to commercial...

After the commercial, Edge goes into Matteus' office and he was pissed! He wants someone from Team Canada at No Justice. Matteus said that Petey is already booked, which the crowd popped for and Edge got mad about, but he said at No Justice, that he will face off against "Showtime" Eric Young one-on-one! Edge was satisfied and said that Petey would pay for what he's done, but as he left Matteus announced that if Edge should interfere in the North American title match at No Justice, he'd be suspended on the spot! Edge couldn't believe this and left the office throwing a temper tantrum.

Booker T was lacing up his boots in the locker room when someone stepped up to him. Booker looked up and noticed that "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown is standing right next to him looking down. Booker stood up and went chest to chest with Brown and Brown said that last week wasn't Booker's fault. He extended his hand to Booker and Book shook it. As Brown left, he turned and told Booker good luck at No Justice. But after he wins the title, Monty's going to be gunning for him. So good luck this Saturday and tonight. He leaves and Booker stares him down as he walks away.

Jeff Jarrett and MNM vs. Booker T and Limited Edition

Huge main event tonight, as the World champion and the top contender top contender to the World Tag Team titles go up against the tag champs and the top contender to Jeff Jarrett's gold! Dinsmore started things out with Johnny Nitro and took control. Dinsmore's combination of strength and incredible wrestling skill is a rarity in today's wrestling world, and he showed it off as he kept control of Nitro until he tagged in Conway. While not the most technically gifted wrestler, his power is a great compliment to Dinsmore and the two obviously work well together as they double-teamed Nitro with a double clothesline and double elbow which got two. Conway lifted Nitro in the air and powerslammed him to the mat for two again. He hit a spinebuster and tagged in Booker T. Booker tossed him into the ropes and hit a flying forearm, but instead of going for the cover, he went to the opposing corner and attacked Jarrett! Jarrett went down to the floor and Booker turned his attention back to Nitro, who recuperated and lifted Book up and hit him with a stun gun, catching him throat-first against the ropes! He tagged in Jarrett and Jeff stomped away at the challenger. He slammed Booker and went up top, hitting him with a flying elbowdrop for two and a half! Jarrett held onto his elbow and was screaming in pain, and he rushed to his corner and made the tag to Joey Mercury. Both Nitro and Mercury rushed Booker and both sides came in causing chaos in the ring! Melina took advantage of this and went to the timekeeper's table, grabbing one of Limited Edition's tag team belts and handed it to Joey Mercury! He grabbed it and, with Rob Conway's back turned, waffled him in the back of the head with the belt! The ring cleared slowly and Mercury went for the cover! The referee counted: one... two... three! Nitro and Mercury rushed out of the ring before Nick Dinsmore and Booker could catch up to them. They celebrated up the aisle, but EMTs were already tending to Jeff Jarrett...

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) and Jeff Jarrett defeated
Limited Edition (Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway) and Booker T when Mercury pinned
Conway after hitting him with a title belt in 25:20.
Jeff Jarrett suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 3 months.

...son of a bitch. I mean, it's like, come on. Jeff Jarrett apparently took a bad fall when he missed that elbowdrop. Doctor's prognosis after the show was not good, as the World champion is apparently due to be out until July. UW rules state that if a champion is injured and cannot defend that title within the required 30-day period, he will be stripped of the title and a three-way or four-way match or tournament will be set-up between the top contenders of the tournament within two weeks of the championship being stripped. Seeing as we have three major players for the gold right now (Booker T, Triple H, and Randy Orton), Matteus made the quick announcement that we would crown a new champion THIS SATURDAY at No Justice as the main event will be Booker T vs. Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the UW World title!

Who will walk out of No Justice with the strap? Will Hunter and Orton be able to put aside their personal hatred to focus on the gold or will Booker T win it all? Will Shelton Benjamin hold onto his newly acquired gold or will Petey Williams take it home for Team Canada? And can we trust Edge to really keep his nose out of the match? What about the tag team gold? Can Limited Edition keep the gold on the big stage or is it MNM's time? Is Gen Next done for after Monty Brown gets through with Alex Shelley? You'll have to tune in this Saturday to find out! Don't you love rhetorical questions? Don't answer that...

I'm really digging this circuit so far.  As I get more involved with the backstory and angles, I'll offer more intensive feedback, but this is good stuff.  Gen next is cool, and I like what is happening with the NA Title.  That sucks about Jeff Jarrett... can't catch a break, can you?

I may have asked this before, but I'm too lazy to look right now... hehe.  Booked or unbooked?

PREDICTIONS:

HHH is the new champ

Benjamin retains

MNM

JBL/Basham

Brown

Edge

Chavo
MatteusPosted on 04/26/06 at 00:06:45

Thanks for the responses, guys! Yeah losing Jarrett is a tough break, but that's part of the fun of booking TNM. Dealing with what it gives you... sometimes. This IS a booked circuit, but I do deal with injuries and contract stuff as it comes up and honor that. Looking forward to doing the write-up for No Justice... thanks for reading! Ryan, tell mamushi to get crackin' on that comp problem... I need my GCW fix ::)
Snabbit888Posted on 04/26/06 at 00:49:48

Well, I have up through 6/27/05 up on the GCW website, just not posted on here yet, so you're welcome to peruse that.
MatteusPosted on 04/26/06 at 01:32:44

Oh, yeah? Is that so... um, excuse me.

*throws arms in the air and spins around a la Kurt Angle*

WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Snabbit888Posted on 04/26/06 at 01:41:56

Yeah, just if you plan on feedbacking either a) IM me, b) private message me on here, or c) e-mail me.  Woot.

And nice spin.
rey619Posted on 04/27/06 at 12:30:54

Oh no, another victim of the dreaded elbow injury. I have 3 so far in WWC. I think maybe I would have let Jarrett work through the injury, but it would have been quite obvious who would have won then, wouldn't it?

I now see that my point about too many main-eventers was not valid after all. Cena, JBL and Edge are clearly not main-eventers yet here, but you are building them to be, I can see that.

Predictions

Triple H
Shelton
MNM
Cena's Team
Monty Brown... easy
Edge
Sean O'Haire

Another really good show, and by the looks of it you are pulling in one hell of an audience.

-Gregory "False Title Loss" Helms pulls off a clutch win! One of my personal favorites, (his music is awesome).

-LoL, I like the Generation Next stable, trying to take out the "meatheads".

-BOO! I hate Jeff Jarret, with all of my heart.

-Team Canada picks up the win after a couple months of NON-Tag Team action. Good rating too.

Yeah, they're not on that level... yet. But I have plans to keep the main event scene as fresh as can be until more people are ready to step up.

I appreciate all y'alls comments! Check out No Justice, which is ready to be posted and I'll probably drop off later tomorrow night. Enjoy! And Ryan your GCW comments are on the way. Viva la Eric Angle!

...very well then.

**UW Official-ish Press Release News Bullettin Thing:**

The fan have spoken! Because you (you, of course, being Ryan Niemiller) demanded it, UW No Justice will be posted right here in the TNM Circuit Forums later tonight! Why not now, you ask? Because a) I'm at work, b) my laptop's at home, c) Ryan was too pushy and I'm a sensitive guy... just kidding. I love you :-*

Yeah... don't mess with me.  I'm ferocious. :)
