Taz and Michael Cole welcome you all to another edition of WWC Smackdown, tonight from St.Paul, Minnesota. Taz reminded everyone about the challenge laid down by Rey Mysterio and Rob van Dam last week, and asked Josh Matthews in the back if he could get some words from the WWC World Heavyweight Champion.

Josh conveniently stood by with Orton, who had a smug look on his arrogant face. Randy told Rey and van Dam to bring their A-game, as he had brought in a former WWE Champion to tag with him tonight. Josh Matthews tried asking who it was, but Orton told everyone to wait and see.

Brian Kendrick vs Elijah Burke

Elijah danced his way to the ring by the sound of Village People. When he danced past the announce table, he invited Michael Cole to dance with him in the ring. Cole accepted, before he saw the disgust on Taz's face, and decided to sit back down and blush. "Nuff said," Taz remarked.

Crowd split in this one. Even though Burke has a growing fanbase, a lot of the men in the crowd was obviously displeased by Burke's feminine sie, and cheered on Kendrick, who by the way took the initiative early on with a leaping tornado DDT. Burke kicked out at two, and when Kendrick tried the trick again, Burke awaited him with an inverted atomic drop. This match involved a lot of high-speed action, perfect to get a crowd going on a snowy night at this. Kendrick missed a leg lariat, and Burke bounced off the ropes with a flying forearm to take down his opponent. Kendrick showed shades of his tag team partner when he went for the Running Forearm Smash, but he telegraphed the move too early and Burke countered with a belly to belly. Kendrick got back up to his feet, but was planted with the Elijah Experience for the win.

The two shook hands after the match, and Kendrick joined Burke in a dance.
Taz told Cole to go up there if he wanted too, but when Cole got up from his chair, Taz told him to sit the hell down, unless he wanted to feel the Tazmission.

Elijah Burke pinned Brian Kendrick with the Elijah Experience in 0:06:47.

Backstage, Josh Matthews interviewed Dusty Rhodes, Kash and Noble. Rhodes ranted on about Texas and cowboys, the two best things in America... if you will.. and then said that whoever signed up as his client would be guaranteed a title belt within 1 year. He said that Jamie Noble would do so at the Royal Rumble, and that Kid Kash would soon be in title contention as well. Noble told Gregory Helms that tonight, he would get a taste of what would happen to him at the Royal Rumble.

Chris the Bambikiller vs Lashley

Lashley's last test before the Rumble is against the biggst man in OVW at the moment, the Austrian Chris the Bambikiller, a man who have fought with success on all continents of the world! He was still outweighed and outmatched in this one however, as Lashley clearly sent a message to Test.

the Bambikiller tried to take down Lashley with shoulderblocks, but after a couple of stalemates, Lashley sent Bambikiller down hard. Lashley continued to dominate the European, and even gorilla pressed him out of the ring. Lashley wins.

Lashley pinned Chris the Bambikiller with the Dominator in 0:07:02.

Kid Kash & Jamie Noble vs Psicosis & Gregory Helms

Jamie Noble sent a clear message to Gregory Helms last Smackdown when he had Elijah Burke pass out in the Dragon Sleeper hold. Tonight, Helms tagged with Psicosis against Dusty Rhodes' southern boys.

Kash and Helms started out, but Helms quickly demanded that Kash tag in Noble. Kash refused, until Dusty Rhodes jumped up on the apron and demanded that he did so. Noble and Helms slugged off, before Noble was taken out of the ring by a back bodydrop. Helms jumped after with a flying bodypress, and the ringside brawl was a fact. A cheap-shot from Dusty Rhodes later, and Noble had regained control.

At the 8-minute mark, Kash and Noble were double-teaming Psicosis, when Helms entered the ring and hiptossed Kash to the outside. Helms went after him, sending him into the guardrail. While the two fought on the outside, Noble put Psicosis in the dreaded Dragon Sleeper. The Mexicool desperately tried to twist himself loose, or reach the ropes, but to no avail. Helms went for the breakup, but Dusty held him back. The message by Jamie Noble is sent, and Helms retreated to the back with a concerned look on his face.

Kid Kash and Jamie Noble defeated Psicosis and Gregory Helms when J. Noble made
Psicosis submit to the Dragon Sleeper in 0:09:24.

A video is shown of Harry Smith and Teddy Hart working out in the Dungeon with Stu Hart when they were younger. Smith says that growing up as the son of the legendary Bulldog could both be good and bad. He went on to say he had big shoes to fill, but that he would be one step closer to achieving what his father had done when he went to the Royal Rumble to win the titles. Teddy Hart then warned Shane to screw him like his father did his uncle. Hart Foundation is here to stay this time.

Burchill vs Test

A dramatic entrance from Burchill as always, as he swung down from a balcony, this time with a buxom wench at his side (not Regal...). Burchill flung baubles into the crowd, but was rudely interrupted by Test who clubbed him from behind.

The pirate sprang back to his feet and twitched his moustache Johnny Depp-style. He then locked Test in a headlock, and took him from turnbuckle to turnbuckle, smashing his head into them.

As in several of his matches so far, Burchill had his opponent dominated, taking Test down with a t-bone, a powerslam and then the Finlay roll. Burchill then got his spine shattered when Test got his knees up after a standing moonsault, allowing him to go for the Test Drive and the win. If only Burchill can manage to actually put away his opponent, he can be a serious player here in WWC.

Test pinned Burchill with the Test Drive in 0:07:34.
Rating: ** 1/4

Test didn't have time to celebrate his win for long, as the freight train that is Lashley stormed to the ring and took down Test with a shoulder tackle. He landed several blows to Test's face, before security and a throng of OVW students could rush out and break it up. Test broke loose of his watchers and launched himself at Lashley, igniting the brawl once again before even more staff members came out to break them up. Shane McMahon then came out and said that if they couldn't keep away from each other, fine.. at Royal Rumble, they would do battle in a Dog Collar match!

Hart Foundation 2G (Hart & Smith) vs Second City Saints (Steel & Cabana) in a #1 contenders match

Shane McMahon ordered this match after last Smackdown's title match, when the Second City Saints caused a DQ so as to get a shot at MNM's titles at Royal Rumble. Shane said that this wasn't the way it was done here in WWC, and that they had to have a contenders match between the two young upstart teams.

CM Punk still sidelined with a elbow injury, but he was at ringside, egging his friends on. Melina then joined the announce team, and Punk decided to as well, actually ousting Michael Cole from his seat. Punk told Cole that Elijah Burke was handing out dance lessons in the back, and that he was welcome to join him. Punk and Melina actually overshadowed Taz in this one, handing out insults to each other. Melina started by calling Punk a son-of-a-bitch, to which Punk replied "Well.. then... sorry MOM!"

As to the match itself.. well, the match was not more than a couple of minutes old when Teddy Hart clotheslined Cabana out of the ring. Cabana stood next to the announce table, and the crazy Hart sommersaulted out of the ring, taking down Cabana, the announce table, Taz, Punk and Melina in a big heap. As the crowd chanted their "holy shit" chants, Michael Cole picked up a microphone and thanked Punk for taking his seat..

Punk was actually distressed that Melina wasn't moving, and lifted her up in a fireman's carry position, taking her out of the ringside area to get some treatment. As Cole commended Punk for his noble deed, Punk unfortunately crashed Melina's head into the ringpost.. and the guardrail.. and even dropped her down once before finally making it to the back.

Hart Foundation and Second City Saints has no love lost for each other, as they took the battle into the crowd. Hart flung chair after chair in the face of Cabana, as Ace Steel choked out Harry Smith with a tv-cable. The ref had no choice but to call for the double countout! That didn't seem to stop the two teams, however, and Shane McMahon had to come out and send security out to break them up. He then announced that at the Royal Rumble, it would be MNM vs Second City Saints vs Hart Foundation 2G for the WWC Tag Team Titles!

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Hart Foundation 2G (Teddy Hart and Harry Smith) and
Second City Saints (Ace Steel and Colt Cabana) battled to a double countout in
          0:13:32.
Colt Cabana suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 3 cards.

Rey Mysterio & Rob Van Dam vs Randy Orton & TBA

The big question tonight was about to be revealed, Randy Orton's mystery partner! And the surprise shocked everyone, as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista came out! Rey and RVD couldn't believe their eyes, and neither could the crowd, who at first cheered at Batista, but then jeered at him for taking Orton's side. Batista took a mic, got down on one knee and got into Rey's face. Batista asked Rey if he really thought that someone who weighed less then the championship belt could actually win the big one. Rey said that 'yes', he definetely could. Batista then agreed, and told Rey and RVD to kick the living shit out of that piece of crap.

Rey and RVD dominated Randy throughout this match, and didn't see the need to tag in and out. Ref Jimmy Korderas didn't either. Seems like everyone hates Randy Orton's guts. Orton tried some desperate measures, like pulling the ref in front of one of RVD's spin kicks, and then low-blowing him for the cover. Winning by cheating was the mantra of Rey's late friend Eddie Guerrero, but Rey still broke the cover.

Later, RVD went for the 5-Star Frog Splash, but Orton got his knees up, and RVD rolled to the outside, clutching his abdomen. Rey and Orton squared off now, as all of a sudden, Rey's wife Angie showed up on the big screen, tied and gagged in a dark warehouse. A trio of Japanese thugs were standing around her, and one of them said in broken English that if Rey wanted to see his lovely wife again, all he had to do was lose tonight.. and at the Royal Rumble.. as they had bet enormous amounts of Yen on Orton's victory. Rey couldn't believe what he saw, but Orton knew an opportunity when he saw one, pushing down Rey and making the cover. Rey didn't attempt to kick out.

RVD tried to comfort a panicked Rey Mysterio as Smackdown went off the air with Randy Orton walking out, actually appearing genuinely concerned for Rey Mysterio.

Handicap-Match:
Randy Orton defeated Rob Van Dam and Rey Misterio when R. Orton pinned Misterio after a push-off in 0:10:46.

Royal Rumble Final Card - Predictions welcome

Second City Saints vs MNM(c) vs Hart Foundation 2G for the WWC Tag Team Championships

Lashley vs Test in a Dog-Collar Match

Gregory Helms(c) vs Jamie Noble for the WWC Cruiserweight Title

The Royal Rumble Match

Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (c) for the WWC World Heavyweight Title

Financial notes
I drew another 0,6 rating, but an extra 50 or so came to watch. I lost a boatload of money again (approx. $8000), but then again, Batista isn't exactly cheap...

How do you do the money handling?
HugeRockStar760Posted on 04/22/06 at 04:38:57

Smackdown! circuits are always fun to read. I never used to be a fan of Smackdown! but I actually took the time to watch the brand and it's not bad at all.

And considering your version of Smackdown! has a different spin to it, it makes it all the more interesting. You've built yourself a competitive tag team division. I think tag teams are a must, and when done right the division can spotlight a promotion (much like Jim Crockett Promotions used to do).

I like how you're making Batista have an edge to him, yet keeping him on the tweener side. It's probably different to how I'm going to push him once I bring him back in my Smackdown! circuit, but I think the role fits him just fine, especially because the fans haven't seen him in that role in awhile.

I have no clue who is behind the Japanese thugs. I doubt Randy Orton was showing true concern. He probably hired the thugs to begin with. I mean, for all we know Anubis is right and Randy Orton set up an elaborate hoax and has locked Eddie Guerrero away somewhere so he could get the advantage in the title picture...Well maybe not. Orton just plays his role so perfectly and he can go in the ring. Just a shame that in real life that Orton can't conform to be more business like out of the ring.

The stuff between Tazz and Cole is always fun :)

Lashley and Test both look strong going into the Rumble.

I'm still digging on Noble and Kash as a team, and the Helms/Kash feud is very interesting and you're right, the heel/face blurring gives it a unique feel.

Hahaha, okay Punk carrying Melina to the back was awesome! I was thinking he was actually concerned... but methinks she just got Punk'd.  Can't wait for the tag title match at the Rumble. You've built a solid tag division already, well done! The Saints can't stay healthy lol! But hopefully Punk is coming back soon?

Heh, you weren't kidding about things taking twists and turns. My gut says Randy had nothing to do with it, and I couldn't figure who the thugs are or why they're after Rey's fam. Yakuza? Maybe Rey's been gambling... :P

Great show! Predictions! (winners in bold, duh)

Second City Saints vs MNM(c) vs Hart Foundation 2G

Lashley vs Test

Gregory Helms vs Jamie Noble

The Royal Rumble Match - Batista (if he's active)

Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (c)
djmasterscooterPosted on 04/27/06 at 06:49:08

Love this circuit.  You've built Rey Mysterio better than the WWE ever could, and you aren't using Eddie as a springboard.  Ultimate kudos for that.  I hope this Japanese gambling thing leads to Tajiri returning for a huge program with Mysterio.

I like Elijah Burke.  He gets a push in my circuit, and I can only hope you push him too.

Burchill.  A character I love, yet he continues to lose.  Maybe he'll go the way of Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball?

Who wins the Rumble?  I hope for Batista, but I'd put dinero on Rob Van Dam.

Keep up the good work.

WWC Live Event 01.22.07

With less than a week until the Royal Rumble, WWC visits Appleton, Wisconsin for the last live event before the the very first PPV of the new era.

Test pinned Psicosis with the Test Drive in 0:08:29.
Rating: ** 1/4

Lashley not scheduled to be here tonight, so Test took the opportunity to talk some dirt about Lashley after defeating the Mexicool. Test said that he would make Lashley his whipping boy, come the Royal Rumble.

The Shane Twins (Mike Shane and Todd Shane) defeated
Paul London and Brian Kendrick when T. Shane pinned B. Kendrick with the
Spinebuster in 0:11:19.
Rating: *** 1/4

The Shanes pick up another house show win.. if only they could repeat that on Smackdown..

Rey Misterio pinned William Regal with the West Coast Pop in 0:05:36.
Rating: *** 1/4

Nice and easy final test for the challenger going into the Royal Rumble. Rey's still wearing a face protection mask after Orton's brutal Christmas Eve assault.

Teddy Hart, Joey Mercury and Ace Steel defeated
Harry Smith, Johnny Nitro and Colt Cabana when Mercury pinned Smith with the
Future Shock in 0:12:41.
Rating: ** 1/4

A little twist here, as Shane O'Mac grouped the three quarrerling tag teams into a six-man tag match. This brought forth some interesting stuff, like when Mercury and Nitro found each other alone in the ring on opposite sides. Still, no huge biggies in this one as Mercury gets the fall on Davey Boy's son after interference from Melina.

Gregory Helms pinned Burchill with the Shining Wizard in 0:08:59.
Rating: ** 1/4

Helms had to send a message to Jamie Noble that he would not be cowed into submission (literally speaking), as he took down the buccaneer with the Shining Wizard. After the match, Jamie Noble ran in and brawled with Helms before locking him in the Dragon Sleeper. Security had to break the lock, and Helms needed assistance leaving the ring.

Elijah Burke pinned Kid Kash with the Elijah Experience in 0:08:24.
Rating: ** 1/2
[Dusty Rhodes interfered against Elijah Burke.]

Chants of "Cole loves Eljiah" went through the crowd in this one, but Burke only seemed to get his fuel fired up because of it. Kash was really frustrated after the match, and even Dusty Rhodes couldn't calm him down.

Randy Orton pinned Rob Van Dam after reversing a flying cross body press in 0:06:34.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Randy Orton retained the World Heavyweight Championship.)

Wow, Orton puts his title on the line, just days before going into the Royal Rumble? Guess Shane wants to raise the status of these live events. Van Dam put up a good fight, but Orton has so many tricks up his sleeve, that defeating him is difficult. Orton rolled through a cross body, pulled the tights and used the ropes as leverage for the win.

Card rating: ** 3/4

WWC News

Just to kill any rumors, Batista is not hired back on a permanent basis. His injury is still bothering him, and it is believed that before WWC manage to turn things around financially, they simply cannot afford Batista. Still, keeping Batista out of the hands of the WEW and TNA is probably a good idea.

Colt Cabana has also suffered from the popular elbow injury that is plaguing the WWC locker room. So far, 2 saints and 1 mexicool has succumbed to it. It is believed that both Punk and Cabana will work through the injury at the Royal Rumble, which means that Ace Steel will have to watch from ringside. Cabana is expected to take some time off after the Rumble, while Punk will probably go solo for a couple of months. Ace Steel has been offered a trainer job in OVW, and has accepted.

The Japanese Yakuza which appeared at the last Smackdown spurred many to question if Tajiri is on his way back. Tajiri is currently wrestling under contract in Japan for the HUSTLE promotion, but in the world of wrestling, anything can happen (well.. except Bret Hart appearing on a Wrestlemania again).

Many fear that this year's Royal Rumble will be the worst ever, as WWC simply does not have enough wrestlers to fill the ring. Shane has been adamant in that it will be 30 wrestlers, so the question is, will the remaining wrestlers be old heroes returning to action, students from OVW, independent wrestlers, or all three? What is for certain is that a lot of wrestlers are doing double duty that night..

Well, that's all for now, see you on January 30, 2007 for the Royal Rumble!
