UWA Melee PPV (1st PPV) - 5/21/2006

911HijackerDotComPosted on 04/19/06 at 20:13:54

Universal Wrestling Alliance's first PPV, MELEE
5/21/2006
Owner: Hulk Hogan
GM of Monday Night Mayhem: Shane McMahon

I have had 5 Mayhems before this PPV.  I will post the
"prequels" later, but here's a basic rundown of what is going on up to this PPV:

Jarrett smashed Orlando Jordan with his guitar after Orlando knocked his hat off when jumping around and exiting the locker room.  Jarrett just got out of a contract negotiation meeting with Hulk Hogan.  Jarrett made some semi-racist/ignorant remarks to Jordan and they have been signed for Melee.

JBL and Mark Henry were trying to get a shot at the tag titles, but have not been working together properly and had a falling out.  These two will lock up at Melee.

A 6 man over the top battle royal with the winner earning a Tag Title shot with the partner of his choice.

A 4-man Extreme Elimination Match with the winner earning a shot at the Extreme Title

A Four Man Face Off tournament, with the winners meeting in the Main Event for the World Title, and the losers tagging together to take on the unlikely team of Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle.  The winning team becomes the Co-#1 Contenders to the World Title.  Over the course of a few weeks the tournament ended up being Triple H vs. Booker T, Randy Orton vs. RVD.  Rey Mysterio's presence helped RVD over Angle, and likewise Angle screwed Rey.  However, these two have been put on the same team tonight to face the losers of the tournament.

The tag titles are up for grabs.  Jericho and Benoit take on Kidman and The Sandman.  Matt Hardy was the Sandman's partner, but Hardy gave Kidman his spot so Hardy could focus on the Extreme Title.

Hardy faces D-Von Dudley for the Extreme Title.

Orlando Jordan vs. Jeff Jarrett
We kick off Melee with Jeff Jarrett's debut, which was spoiled by Orlando
Jordan.  Not exactly the opening we wanted to see, as the crowd was not
very much into this one.  After the pin, Jarrett grabbed his guitar and
smashed Orlando Jordan with it. "That'll teach you to disrespect me." said
Jarrett.

6 Man Battle Royal for a tag team title shot.
(Regal, Chavo, Gunn, Holly, The Undertaker, Batista)
HARDCORE HOLLY THREW OUT BILLY GUNN!  Regal got some revenge on the
Undertaker, eliminating him as Taker tried to throw Batista over.  Batista
knocks Chavo out of the ring, but then Regal clotheslines Batista and
knocks him over the top rope!  William Regal eliminated the two biggest
men in the Battle Royal!  Hardcore Holly and Regal exchanged Blows, and
Billy Gunn made his way back into the ring, kicked Holly and hit the
Fame-Ass-Er on him.  Regal had little difficulty eliminating Holly after
that.  Looks like the team of Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn are no more.
But, who will William Regal pick to be his partner?

Booker T vs. Triple H
RIC FLAIR??!???  RIC FLAIR?!??  RIC FLAIR made his way down to the ring and
nailed Triple H with a chair as Rudy Charles was knocked out.  Flair then
tried to nail Booker T with the chair, but Booker T moved and Flair hit
Triple H!  He then nailed Booker T with the second shot! To the surprise of
everyone, Flair then put Triple H on top of Booker T and woke up the ref,
who made the 3 count! Triple H is in the Main Event for the World Title!
Why did Flair do this?

Orton vs. RVD
RVD does it!  RVD avoided an RKO, nailed a shoulderblock and followed it up with a flying legdrop.  Orton kicked out, but after the 3 count was called.
Orton complained about a fast count.  After the fact, the replay showed that Randy Orton did in fact kick out with the referee's hand just a few centimeters from the mat!  Orton feels like he got screwed, and the video
evidence suggests that he did!  Did Orton finally get what he deserved?

Justin Credible vs. Al Snow in a Table Match
Al Snow came into this match like a ball of fire, bashing Justin Credible all over the ring.  Al Snow attempted to Powerbomb Credible through a table, but Credible was able to escape.  Credible finished this great Extreme Table Match off with a Piledriver through the table!  A bloody Justin Credible celebrates as Al Snow is attended to my medical personnel. Justin Credible sees the EMTs putting Snow on a stretcher, and he goes over and knocks Al Snow off the stretcher and continues to kick Snow.  Security had to escort Credible away from the area so that EMTs can treat Snow. Al Snow may be hurt very badly.

Mark Henry vs. JBL
Mark Henry and Justin Bradshaw's match was not pretty, but no one expected it to be.  This match was a brawl, so much so that Justin Bradshaw tore his
right triceps and will miss some action.  Mark Henry scored the pin on the injured Bradshaw after the Big Splash.

Extreme 4 man Elimination Match
(Edge, Big Show, Raven, Bubba Ray)
RAVEN TAKES OUT THE BIG SHOW WITH A DDT ONTO A CHAIR!  Edge then eliminates
Raven after a spear.  That leaves Bubba Ray vs. Edge but the time limit expired!  The crowd chants to let the match continue.  Hulk Hogan walks through the curtain and announces the match will continue!  Edge ends up
finishing off Bubba Ray with a road sign!  Edge has earned a shot at the Extreme Title!

Billy Kidman/The Sandman vs. Chris Benoit/Chris Jericho
It was hard to tell who the crowd favorite was in this match.  With all the great moves and close calls, the crowd loved it!  The Sandman entered to make it a two-on-one against Jericho.  The Sandman hit a slingshot facebuster, which allowed Kidman the opportunity to hit the Shooting Star Press for the pinfall!  We have our first ever UWA World Tag Team Champions in The Sandman and Billy Kidman!  Kidman made a promise to Matt Hardy that he would not regret letting Kidman team with The Sandman, and tonight, Kidman came through on his promise!  After the match, Benoit and Jericho congratulated the newly crowned Tag Team Champions!

Matt Hardy vs. D-Von for the Extreme Title:
Bubba Ray Dudley was very close to earning a shot at the Extreme Title earlier in the night.  Would D-Von have better luck?  Matt Hardy hit the Twist of Fate, but Paul Heyman grabbed the referee to prevent him from counting the three!  Matt Hardy then attacked Heyman.  D-Von was able to grab Hardy and hit a powerslam for the 1,2,3!  D-Von Dudley has won the UWA Extreme Title!

Randy Orton/Booker T vs. Rey/Angle:
The thing about this match is that these partners, like it or not, will have to work together if they want to a chance at the UWA World Title.  The team of Rey and Angle worked very well together, but Randy Orton was not very cooperative with Booker T, so much so that Booker T abandoned his partner and walked to the back.  Alone, Orton had no chance, succumbing to
a vicious double team with Rey Mysterio hitting the West Coast Pop for the victory!  Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle are the new #1 Contenders to the UWA
World Title!

WORLD TITLE MATCH
RVD vs. Triple H
Triple H was very frustrated with his inability to control Van Dam, so he dealt with it the best way he knows how, with the Sledgehammer!  However, referee Jimmy Korderas would not allow Triple H to use it, and threatened to disqualify him!  At that moment, Ric Flair jumped over the front row guardrail and went after RVD, hitting him with a clothesline.  Flair then rolled out of the ring, and Triple H set RVD up for the Pedigree, scoring the pinfall and winning the UWA World Title!  What a night!  What will happen tomorrow on Mayhem!??

UPDATE FOR TOMORROW NIGHT'S MAYHEM:
Al Snow and Justin Bradshaw will be out for a while.
Orlando Jordan is out with a significant concussion after being hit over the head with a guitar twice in the past two weeks thanks to Jeff Jarrett.
Randy Orton will return in a couple weeks after getting a beatdown last night.

William Regal has tested positive for illegal substances which may explain his performance at Melee).  Because of this, William Regal's guaranteed tag title shot has been postponed until further analysis can be done.  Who will get the tag title shot instead?

Last week, Matt Hardy gave Kidman his spot in the Tag Title match since Hardy was competing for the Extreme Title (Hardy and Kidman were in an Extreme tag team match and Hardy scored the pinfall that earned him the spot in the Extreme Title match).  Hardy gave Kidman his Tag Title spot in return.  Kidman and The Sandman were successful, but Hardy was not.  What will Hardy have to say on Mayhem?

Basically nothing was solved regarding the World Title scene, with Ric Flair, who was hurt a few weeks back at he hands of Orton and Triple H, costing Booker T and Rob Van Dam their matches.  Randy Orton is upset too since he was technically never pinned after viewing the footage.  Plus, Rey and Angle, while there is no love lost between them, are now the co-#1 contenders to Triple H's World Title.

911, I have to apologize firstly for not commenting on the circuit (I plan to read, I just haven't had time yet).  And second, I want to apologize for going COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC (I really think we need a "Discuss Anything" Board here)!  But, I want to comment about your screen name.  At first, I wasn't sure what the point of it was; I wasn't sure if I should be offended or what.  Then, I went to your site, and I realised what was up.

And I just want to say thank you.  Thank you for trying to spread these questions that people like you and I have.  I also want to ask you if you have ever watched the 9/11 documentary entitled Loose Change Second Edition?  I just watched this a few nights ago, and let me tell you, I have not been able to let this subject go.  It frightens me that something this heinous could be possible.

I want to give you the link if you haven't seen it.  I am sure you will appreciate it:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5137581991288263801&q=loose+change+2nd+edition&pl=true

Hopefully others might give it a look also.  The movie is about 1 and half hours long, but once I started watching, I could not stop.  It asks some incredible questions.

What's with Regal's "illegal substances"? Did he give notice?
911HijackerDotComPosted on 04/22/06 at 03:29:22

No, he didn't give notice, but I wanted a way to keep The Hard Asses (Holly and Gunn) together after Holly threw Gunn out.

More about it on the next card (see link below) ....

Hahaha, I remember when I used The Hard Asses name for a tag team with Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn. I'm not claiming any rights to it because I'm sure many have used it before as well...But the name is great, it fits them perfectly. Disgruntled veterans who don't give a damn.
