Dark Match:
Charlie Haas pinned Steven Richards after a German suplex in 0:12:34.
Rating **

After the pinfall Haas hooked Steven in the Haas of Pain and refused to let go! The ref tried to pull him off but was unable to and more referee's came down to finally pull him off of Richards, but not before a lot of damage was done. Who knew that the break-up of his tag team with Shelton Benjamin would turn Charlie Haas into such a vicious animal?

Dark Match:
Limited Edition (Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway) and Orlando Jordan defeated Generation Next (Alex Shelley, Austin Aries and Gregory Shane Helms) when O. Jordan pinned Aries with the Black Ice in 0:15:39.
Rating: ** 3/4

UW Fury (4/17/06)

We're coming at you from the nation's capital, Washington, DC! The pyro hits, the fans go nuts, the cameras are rolling and we're ready for a huge show!

Monty Brown's music plays and out comes The Alpha Male to mostly cheers, with some die-hard Booker T fans still jeering Brown for eliminating him in last week's battle royal. Monty gets on the mic and demands that Jeff Jarrett come out and grant him a World title shot right now. Matteus walks out and says that unfortunately the World champion has decided, for whatever personal reasons, to no-show tonight's event. The crowd breaks out into unanimous cheering. In UW, no-shows carry a first offense penalty of a two-week suspension, and normally Jarrett would be stripped of his title, except that his match against Chavo Guerrero tonight was a non-title affair. Brown says he doesn't care about tonight. As long as Jarrett can go in two weeks at No Justice, then The Alpha Male will just take his title then. Matteus tells him to slow his role, since he hasn't announced who the Top Contender to Jarrett's title will be. Brown was last eliminated at the battle royal, and it took two people to toss him, Jarrett and Gail Kim, so he should get the title shot. But before Matteus can announce this, Booker T comes out to even more applause than Brown! He says that last week he got screwed out of the World title when Brown broke their allegiance and The Alpha Male eliminated him from the battle royal before going on to completely blow it minutes later. Brown is visibly pissed and they appear as if they're going to go at it, but Matteus steps in and says he can see how much the World title means to these two men. So tonight, they are going to fight one-on-one in a Top Contenders match with the winner getting the shot at No Justice! Since they won't be taking part in the 4 Way match for the North American title as scheduled, it will now be Petey Williams vs. Shelton Benjamin for the belt. Both men appear appeased by this, but look as if they're going to rip one another's heads off later tonight...

Top Contenders Match:
Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. MNM

Last week, London and Kendrick defeated The Bashams and they had an opportunity to lock up a tag team title shot at No Justice in two weeks time. But standing in their way were Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury, who have a more personal desire to get their hands on Limited Edition and their tag team gold. It showed during the beginning of the match, as MNM kept Kendrick in their corner. But once Brian got the hot tag, it was all Paul London as he went on a tear, sending Nitro to the outside and double-teaming Mercury with Kendrick. London went up top for a high risk move, but Nitro came up from the apron and sent him crashing to the arena floor. Kendrick charged Nitro, but he ducked and Mercury was able to hit him from behind. Nitro re-entered the ring and they hit Brian with the Snapshot to pick up the pinfall victory.

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) defeated Paul London and Brian Kendrick when Mercury pinned B. Kendrick after the Snapshot in 0:11:36.

MNM are the Top Contenders to the World Tag Team titles and will face Limited Edition at UW No Justice! Will they be able to show Dinsmore and Conway that their win last week was a fluke? Are MNM the top team in UW or are Limited Edition legit? We'll find out in two weeks time as these two teams hook up in the ring.

Matteus is sitting in his office on his phone speaking with Jeff Jarrett's attorney. Randy Orton comes in and hangs up Matteus' phone. He has the solution to Matteus' problems tonight. Orton offers to take Jeff Jarrett's place in tonight's match with Chavo Guerrero, but for a price: he wants a Top Contenders match at No Justice. Matteus okays the match for the pay-per-view and tells him that he should be very familiar with his opponent, Triple H! Orton smiles and tells him that he absolutely loves the idea. He says that he'll still make his special challenge to The Game tonight, but he'll do it after he makes an example of Chavo Guerrero.

Chavo Guerrero vs. "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton

Orton came in looking like a man on a mission, but Chavo wouldn't go as quietly as he would have liked. He hammered Chavo with forearms and kicks and tried to set him up for the RKO, but Chavo wouldn't let him hit it. Orton tried wearing out his opponent with chinlocks but Chavo caught his second wind and took it to the Legend Killer. He hit Randy with the Three Amigos and went to the top, but before he could even get all the way up, Randy leapt up and hit him with a superplex! Randy stalked his prey as Chavo laid there, and when he finally got up Orton had no problem putting him away with the RKO.

Randy Orton pinned Chavo Guerrero with the RKO in 0:9:34.
Rating: ***
(Jeff Jarrett no-showed.)

Orton kicks Chavo out of the ring and grabs a mic. He tells the crowd that he can't wait for No Justice, because not only is he going to be able to get his hands on The Game, but he'll get a World title shot in the process. But he doesn't want to wait two weeks for Triple H to suffer. He challenges Hunter to a Pick Your Poison match. This week, Orton gets to choose Triple H's opponent and, if he survives, next week Trips will pick Randy's opponent. Triple H arrives in the arena and the fans go nuts! Orton isn't phased, and Triple H tells him that he shouldn't look forward to No Justice or beyond. Tonight, he accepts the Pick Your Poison challenge. Orton says that he should be careful b/c no matter how much the fans may like him, there will always be plenty of boys in the back who want a piece of him, and we go to commercial...

JBL comes to the ring and announces that even though he's not involved in tonight's North American title match, he'll be setting his eyes on regaining what should be HIS title to begin with. But right now, he gets to face his former employee Danny Basham and can't wait to show Matteus why he belongs in the NA title match tonight. The ring announcer cuts him off by announcing his opponent for the night, Damaja! Danny Basham comes down to the ring with black facepaint smeared under each one of his eyes and his tights do indeed say "Damaja"!

Damaja vs. John Bradshaw Layfied

The reemergence of Damaja surprised JBL to start and he was able to take Layfield out of his game immediately. This was basically a punch and kick fest from the start however, but a fairly entertaining one while it lasted. Damaja went for the Brain Damage (chokebomb) early, but JBL was too aware and kicked him in the midsection to take control. JBL almost won with a powerbomb soon thereafter, but Damaja was able to kick out and avoid a Clothesline from Hell right afterwards, reversing Bradshaw's momentum and turning it into a powerbomb for two. Doug Basham, wearing sunglasses and leather-ish pants which read "The Machine" down the leg, walked down to the ring and taunted Damaja. JBL took advantage of the distraction and clubbed Damaja with a forearm from behind, picked him up and hit a fallaway slam. He covered Damaja and the ref counted the pinfall.

John Bradshaw Layfield pinned Damaja after a fallaway slam in 0:12:26.
Rating: * 3/4

JBL and The Machine stomped away at Damaja after the match, and John Cena and Orlando Jordan came out to make the save! Bradshaw and Basham scurried out of the ring like a couple of rats, but Cena grabbed a mic and had a few words for the two. He said that at No Justice, Matteus has just okayed a match involving JBL AND Basham. Jordan took the mic and said he's been waiting a loong time to get his hands on Bradshaw, and at No Justice, he's going to get his chance. It's going to be Cena, OJ, and Damaja against JBL and Doug Basham in a handicap match! The fans go nuts, but JBL and The Machine are stunned as Cena's music plays.

Shelton Benjamin is getting ready for his North American title match next, and as h gets up to exit, he stands up and is nose-to-nose with Charlie Haas. Benjamin is shook, but says hey anyway. Haas is silent. Benjamin says that he's seen what Charlie has been doing lately and he wants to know why he has been acting like such a vicious beast lately. Haas is silent. Benjamin reminds him that it was Charlie who broke up the team, so he has no reason to be angry at Shelton. Haas just stares a hole through him. Shelton shoves his way past and Charlie is left staring bitterly at his former partner...

Match for the vacant UW North American Title:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Petey Williams

These two superstars went down to the final five in last week's battle royal, but they had two very different showings. Whereas Petey Williams eliminated three high-profile athletes, Shelton Benjamin did not have a single elimination before being tossed right before the end of the match. Also, whereas Petey is a former UW Cruiserweight champion, Shelton showed a history of struggling in singles competition before the close of UW last year. But he obviously spent time during the hiatus honing his ability, as he took it right to Williams to start the match. He used his significant power advantage to keep in control, but his ariel and overall athletic ability seemed impossible to overcome, but Petey came back elbowing his way out of a chinlock and taking him down with a dropkick. He set up for the Canadian Destroyer later in the match, but Shelton powered out and sent Petey crashing to the mat. When he got up, he was met with a superkick from Benjamin for two. He went up top and went for a cross bodyblock, but Williams ducked and Shelton used the momentum to turn it into a sunset flip which also got a nearfall. Petey and Shelton knocked each other down with a double clothesline and the ref started counting. They were up at eight, and Petey took control with a powerslam, but knocked the ref down at the same time. With no ref to count, Petey picked up Shelton and nailed him with the Destroyer! But before he could cover him, out from the crowd came Edge and nailed in the back with a chair! He placed Shelton on top and tried to revive the ref. The ref got up and counted 1...2...KICKOUT! Petey kicked out! Edge was going crazy on the outside! Petey picked up Shelton, who could barely stand, and pointed to Edge. But Benjamin snapped out of it and hooked his arms, hitting Petey with the T-Bone! The ref counted one...two...three! New champion!

Shelton Benjamin pinned Petey Williams with the T-Bone in 0:9:37.
Rating: *** 3/4
(Shelton Benjamin won the UW North American Title.)
[Edge interfered against Petey Williams.]

Edge is clapping at ringside as Shelton celebrates with the belt. He catches the new champion's eye and lets him know that that belt is going to be his very soon...

Randy Orton is backstage and walking down the hall when he stops dead in his tracks and looks up in partial awe and fear. The camera pans back and we see Orton is looking at Sean O'Haire! He has a proposition for Randy... actually, more like a demand. Tonight, Sean O'Haire is going to be Triple H's opponent for Pick Your Poison. Orton asks him why he would insist on that in the first place. Sean says he has his reasons, and many of them are likely similar to The Legend Killer's. He tells Randy that he's going to do this favor for him and Orton's going to do one in return. Randy asks what that favor is and O'Haire draws him close and whispers in his ear for a while as Orton nods his head. He looks somewhat confused and hesitant, but Sean agrees that this will pay off in his favor. Orton reluctantly agrees and O'Haire smiles and nods as Randy continues walking down the hall...

Pick Your Poison:
Triple H vs. Sean O'Haire (Randy Orton's choice)

Both men came into this match looking incredibly determined to take it to their opponent. But where Triple H seemed like he wanted to win the match to prove that he is better than Randy Orton or whoever The Legend Killer throws at him, Sean O'Haire had a sadistic look in his eyes like he just wanted to hurt The Game. O'Haire jumped right into the ring and started pounding on Hunter, but Trips was able to catch him coming off the ropes and landed a high knee to his jaw. This quickly turned ugly as they took the action outside and started tossing each other into the guardrails and ring steps. Triple H took Sean to the announcer's table and tried to hit a Pedigree through it, but it was reversed into a backdrop and Triple H hit the arena floor! O'Haire dragged him back into the ring and went for the cover, but only got two! O'Haire tried to wear him down, but was unable to put him away. Sean got him set up for the Prophecy, but Triple H got out and gouged him in the eyes. He slipped outside and grabbed a chair, but when he tried to use it the ref grabbed the chair away from him. Sean surprised Trips and almost hit the Prophecy the second time around, but he slipped out again and whipped O'Haire into the ropes. The ref had left the chair on the mat and Hunter used this to his advantage as he hit a spinebuster slam directly onto the chair! The ref had no choice but to count the fall. One...two...three!

Triple H pinned Sean O'Haire after a spinebuster slam in 0:10:02.
Rating: ***

Triple H escaped Pick Your Poison successfully! He took quite a beating, but came out on top regardless. What in the world will he have in store for Randy Orton when he picks his opponent next week?

Top Contenders Match:
Booker T vs. "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown

Brown came to the ring first, and when Booker came to the ring and started to enter, The Alpha Male nailed him with the Pounce! He hooked Booker's leg and the referee counted one... two... kickout! Too early for that finish, but it gave Brown a distinct advantage in the opening portion of the match, and he kept the pressure on. Brown hit the Book with a powerbomb and got a two-count! How many people have been able to lift Booker and plant him with a powerbomb? But Booker fought on and was able to catch Brown with an abdominal stretch and wear him down a bit before going on the offensive. Book showed his own strength by powerslamming the Alpha Male for two and rocking him with a shoulderblock for two. He went back to the abdominal stretch and tried to wear Brown down some more before finally hitting him with the Book End! The ref counted one.. two... thr-kickout! Brown kicked out of the Book End! Booker went for the Scissor Kick, but Brown ducked and ran off the ropes. He tried to hit the Pounce, but Booker moved and they hit each other with a double clothesline on the rebound! With both men down, Generation Next came down to the ring! What in the...? They surrounded the ring and surveyed the wreckage. As both men got up, they went back at each other and Booker was able to hit a suplex, but before he went for the cover he noticed Generation Next around the ring. He went over to Alex Shelley and Austin Aries and started arguing with them. Monty Brown came to and when he saw Booker distracted, he bounded off the ropes to go for the Pounce! But when he hit the ropes, Gregory Shane Helms nailed him across the back with a chair! Brown kneeled down in pain and when Booker turned around he hit him with the Scissor Kick! One... two.. three!

Booker T pinned Monty Brown with the Scissor Kick in 0:14:03.
Rating: **** 1/4
(Gregory Shane Helms interfered against Monty Brown.)

Generation Next slowly made their way to the back, looking as if their mission had been accomplished. Booker celebrated, not knowing that GN had really helped him win the shot, but regardless, Booker T has won the chance to face Jeff Jarrett for the UW World title at No Justice! He'll pick up right where he left off several months ago and get his long-awaited title shot! But why did Generation Next attack the Alpha Male? What will Booker and Monty have to say next week? And what about Helms, Aries, and Shelley? Will the UW World champion be back next week? Why did he miss this week? Do rhetorical questions make you curious? Find out next week on UW Fury!

Good show....

I like the O'Haire/Orton connection so far.. could there be more?

Booker & Monty seems like a good feud as does Edge & Petey Williams.

Wonder just what Gen Next has against the Alpha Male?

Liking it & wanting to see some things unfold
rey619Posted on 04/18/06 at 22:08:47

A Sean O'Haire "whisperer of lies" storyline is always gold in my eyes.

I suspect that the main event scene may get a little crowded with all your big names, the question is who you should push down to midcard. I guess the matches at No Justice will show us just who's the big gun among all the big guns  ;D

Interesting stuff so far, it's nice to see new circuits pop up again... maybe it's the Wrestlemania boom period?
colmatteusPosted on 04/18/06 at 23:46:43

Justin: Thanks for the comments! I'm sure you can guess that O'Haire is becoming one of my favorite characters to develop as UW goes along. His will be an interesting tenure in UW. You'll see everything unfold in good time, I do promise that. My brother (The Bizz 2.0) keeps guessing and I won't even tell him :P ... Just hope all of y'all enjoy it along the way :)

Rey: On O'Haire - then we're in agreement ;) ... The funny thing is I was thinking just the opposite of my main event scene. The names are big, but some of the guys aren't really main eventers in UW as of yet. For example, I really started this fed before JBL and John Cena pretty much cememnetd their status as main eventers in the public eye. Edge still hasn't been world champ here, etc. But hopefully, I can bring some guys up to main event status gradually.

It definetely is nice to see circuits popping up, and I'm enjoying 3CW and WWC a lot (still have to comment on y'alls latest shows - yipes!) Do you think anybody would be interested in doing the Roll Call (sp?) again? I wouldn't mind giving a go at the write-ups if Eric doesn't want/have time to do it anymore.

EDIT:
Wait, I DID comment on 3CW... and Rey JUST posted! I'm still good! Huzzah!
rey619Posted on 04/19/06 at 06:51:24

As a matter of fact, I was considering suggesting to open the roll call again yesterday. If you want to do the honors, I don't think anyone will object, least of all Eric.

UW Superstar Profile - "The Game" Triple H
Height: 6-4
Weight 270 lbs
Finisher: The Pedigree (double underhook faceslam)
Titles Held:
- UW World title (2)
- WWE World title (10 -- 5 WWE, 5 World Heavyweight)
- WWE Intercontinental title (4)
- WWE European title (2)
- WWE World Tag Team title
Notable UW feuds:
- Randy Orton (current)
- Jeff Jarrett
- Chris Benoit
- Kurt Angle

Triple H needs no introduction, but The Game's history in UW is certainly the most decorated and successful, and therefore quite worthy of noting. Triple H became the first UW champion by defeating the late Eddie Guerrero in a tournament final in February 2005. After defeating Eddie in a rematch at Breaking Point, he feuded with Kurt Angle over the title. But he recruited the help of younger superstars Mark Jindrak and Sea O'Haire, reforming Evolution with new members. The team terrorized Kurt and Triple H successfully defended the title against the Olympic hero at New York Knockout in March, but Trips went down with a knee injury that night after Pedigreeing Angle on the concrete floor. Forced to surrender the title, He sent Jindrak and O'Haire to reclaim the title in the Kingdom Come tournament, where O'Haire would fall to eventual champion Chris Benoit in the semi-finals. Upon his return, The Game would lose his first match to Gregory Shane Helms (then a face) and Benoit didn't let him forget it. Triple H gained his revenge, as he beat Helms with the help of Evolution the next week and defeated Benoit at UW Surge in June to reclaim the title. The next month, Hunter became disgruntled when Jeff Jarrett began defending the NWA World Heavyweight title on Fury, and he challenged The King of the Mountain to a title versus title match. Jarrett came out on top that night, but only due to a masked man clubbing Hunter in the knee, the same one injured previously in the year, with a lead pipe. Hunter spent most of the hiatus rehabbing his knee, and hasn't lost a step since returning to the UW ring. He's promised that he will reclaim his UW World title for a record third time, and also find out who that masked man was and eliminate him. Only time will tell if The Game will accomplish these tasks...

UW Fury preview for 4/24/06:
- Foremost on most people's minds after last week's edition of Fury was why Generation Next interfered in the main event and cost "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown a World title shot. We're sure to find out more about this surprising happening this Monday, but one thing is for certain: Gregory Shane Helms will be in action, and Monty Brown will be in the building. If Helms doesn't have answers, he'd better come up with something fast.
- After no-showing last week's show, UW World champion Jeff Jarrett has been booked in a huge main event for this Monday! He'll be teaming up with MNM to go against their respective opponents for No Justice, Booker T and UW World Tag Team champions Limited Edition! What's more, Matteus has announced that if Jarrett no-shows this event as well, he'll be stripped of the World title and fired on the spot!
- Triple H got past Randy Orton's Pick Your Poison opponent last week, as he defeated the devious Sean O'Haire in a hard-fought bout. This Monday, Th Game says he has the perfect plan for eliminating Randy Orton, and he'll unleash his own weapon on The Legend Killer at Fury.
- Edge cost Petey Williams the North American title last week and let Shelton Benjamin know he's gunning for him. But Williams surely hasn't let Edge out of his sights yet. What will this Monday hold for these three superstars? While that's still uncertain, we do know that Team Canada's Eric Young and Bobby Roode will be in tag team action this week.
- After announcing a huge handicap match for No Justice, John Cena will give "The Machine Doug Basham a preview of what's coming when the two square off this Monday. JBL, Orlando Jordan, and Damaja are sure to be close by...
- Be sure to catch the last Fury before No Justice, this Monday!
