WWE SmackDown! Circuit

degenerationx619Posted on 04/07/06 at 05:26:11

I bought TNM7 a while ago but I never really stuck with it. But, now after much work I have finally done a write up that I'm satisfied with. Please tell me what you think! (Just incase you're all wondering my circuit will be mostly unbooked but is booked on certain occasions for storyline purposes.)

World Wrestling Entertainment presents Friday Night SmackDown!
April 7th, 2006

Friday Night SmackDown! opens up with the new World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio, coming to the ring with the belt around his waist. He jumps into the ring and gets a microphone from the ring announcer. Mysterio says that last Sunday at WrestleMania he did what nobody thought he could do, he captured the World Heavyweight Championship by pinning Randy Orton. He tells everyone that his dream ever since he was a child was to grow up and become the world champion and today he stands in the ring with the belt around his waist.

Rey starts to speak again but he is interrupted by Randy Orton who tells the crowd that tonight Mysterio will have his first title defense against him. Orton says that he will make history here tonight on SmackDown! and become the World Heavyweight Champion again. This brings out Kurt Angle who tells both Orton and Mysterio that tonight's match doesn't matter because he'll fight anyone, anywhere, anytime to get back the championship that is rightfully his.

Tazz and Michael Cole welcome everyone to Friday Night SmackDown! as the first two competitors, Lashley and Fit Finlay, make their way to the ring for a one-on-one match up. They remind us that RAW's Rob Van Dam won the Money in the Bank Ladder match which both Lashley and Finlay participated in.

Finlay pinned Lashley after a Thesz press in 0:09:36.
Rating: **

While the referee had his back turned, Fit Finlay picked up the victory after hitting Lashley with his shillelagh and then jumping on him with a Thesz press for the 1-2-3. After Finlay leaves the ring Lashley slowly gets to his feet and looks very angry.

Backstage, MNM complain to Teddy Long about not having a match at WrestleMania. They tell him that they're the best tag team the WWE has ever seen and that they deserved to go to WrestleMania. Teddy Long tells MNM that he understands how they feel and says that to make it up to them; they will be defending the WWE Tag Team Championship tonight against Matt Hardy and a mystery opponent. Long tells them that they're match will be next as he walks away leaving MNM disgusted.

The camera cuts back to the arena where MNM are making their entrance for this tag team championship match. Michael Cole and Tazz discuss who Hardy's mystery opponent could be. Matt Hardy is out next and waits on the entrance ramp with a microphone. Hardy tells MNM that he has a very special friend who just happened to be backstage and that tonight they'll win the tag team championship. Hardy introduces his mystery partner who happens to be the "Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore! Tazz and Cole tell us that Moore recently signed a contract with the WWE after a successful singles career in TNA. Cole reminds us that he even scored a pinfall victory over A.J. Styles.

The Mattitude Followers (Shannon Moore and Matt Hardy) defeated
MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) when S. Moore pinned Mercury after
the Mooregasm in 0:08:41.
Rating: ****
(The Mattitude Followers won the WWE Tag Team Championship.)

Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore celebrate their victory as a defeated MNM makes their way to the back looking pissed.

The music of John Bradshaw Layfield blasts through the arena as confetti and balloons falls from the ceiling. A white stretch limousine with bull horns on it drives out from under the entrance ramp. The driver parks the limo and walks to the back to open the door and out comes the new United States Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield and his lovely manager, Jillian Hall.

JBL walks to the ring and gets a microphone. He says that at WrestleMania he became the new United States Champion by surviving the Crippler Crossface and pinning Chris Benoit. He then boasts that he has beaten the late Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship and now has beaten Chris Benoit for the United States Championship and that makes him the greatest technical wrestler of all time, not to mention a wrestling god.

Benoit storms to the ring and demands that he have a rematch for the United States Championship. JBL says that he made it a point to make sure that Chris Benoit didn't have a rematch clause in his contract and that if he wants to face him that he'll have to participate in a number-one-contender match.

Teddy Long interrupts and says that JBL is in fact correct and that in Benoit's contract it states that he does not have a rematch clause and if he wants a shot at the United States Championship he will have to participate in a match here tonight. Benoit accepts and Long tells him that he'll have a match with Road Warrior next.

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Chris Benoit made Road Warrior submit to the Crippler Crossface in 0:10:02.
Rating: ***

JBL provided commentary for the match and even distracted Benoit but to no avail. Chris Benoit made Road Warrior tap out and is the number-one-contender for the United States Championship and will get his rematch next week on SmackDown!

Tazz tells us that the next match is a tag team match between the team of Booker T and William Regal and their opponents "Pirate" Paul Burchill and the Boogeyman. The audience is treated to a video segment of the Boogeyman - Booker T feud including their match Sunday at WrestleMania which saw the Boogeyman pick up the victory.

Booker T and William Regal defeated Paul Burchill and Boogeyman when Booker
pinned Burchill with the Scissor's Kick in 0:09:34.
Rating: **

After the match the Boogeyman stalks Booker T and Sharmell who run backstage in terror. Tazz shows us a video clip from WrestleMania where Goldust and his gang of freaks confront Booker T who ignores them.

Mark Henry makes his way to the ring with Daivari and says that tonight he is calling the Undertaker out for one more match. The lights go off and the gongs that signal the Deadman sound. The lights come back on and Henry turns around and there's the Undertaker! The timekeeper rings the bell and this match is underway.

Mark Henry pinned The Undertaker with the World's Strongest Slam in 0:13:41.
Rating: ***
[Muhammad Hassan interfered against The Undertaker.]

At the end of the match, Mark Henry accidentally knocks down the referee and Daivari starts yelling in Arabic and from out of nowhere Muhammad Hassan appears and hits the Undertaker with the Flatliner. As the referee gets back to his feet, Henry hits Taker with the World's Strongest Slam for the victory.

After the match Hassan, Daivari and Henry continue their assault on the Deadman and then finally make their way to the back. Tazz, Cole and the entire SmackDown! audience were amazed to see Muhammad Hassan's shocking return.

Next up is the main event which will feature Rey Mysterio taking on Randy Orton in his first World Heavyweight Championship defense.

Rey Mysterio comes out to the ring with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist but is attacked from behind by Orton. The two brawl on the outside until finally making their way to the ring.

Randy Orton pinned Rey Mysterio with the RKO in 0:14:39.
Rating: ***
(Randy Orton won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.)

After the match a battered Mysterio lays in the ring as Randy Orton celebrates his victory. Then, to the crowds delight, Batista makes his return and runs to the ring toward a frightened champion and shockingly delivers the Batista Bomb to Rey Mysterio! Batista walks over to Orton and raises his hand in victory to end this edition of Friday Night SmackDown!

So tell me what you think and I'd love to hear any suggestions and let me know if I should keep it going.

Finlay/Lashley is a solid feud to open your circuit with. They should be going one on one on the next Smackdown! PPV anyway, so some good continuity.

I'm pumped that Shannon Moore is comin back, I dont think that they should be able to run over MNM until a PPV spot in real life, but I dig the team so anytime they grab gold is good.

Nice cowardly JBL move. Road Warrior Animal didnt stand a chance. JBL/Benoit II should be good.

Good to see Boogey is still creepin Booker & co. out. Burchill should decimate Regal if they were to feud. Regal wont gain anything by beating him in the feud, Burchill will move ahead in his career.

OOOHHH, I love me some Hassan. Hassan, Daivari, & Henry should dominate the Smackdown! Roster. Im pumped about this one.

Glad to see a Heel Batista return. But how long will it last? Batista is gonna get hungry for the gold, but i sense a Rey Rey & Angle/Batista & Orton feud. Maybe it'll break down to a fatal fourway for the title.

A really nice circuit you have going there, but I would prefer it if you didn't put the show in quotes.. makes the text very small and hard to read at times.

Pairing Hardy and Moore was an excellent idea, one that the current writers will go with as well.

The correct spelling for Finaly's weapon is actually shillelagh... damn hard to both pronounce and write..  :P

I'm not too fond of poor Rey only holding the title for a few days, but then I'm quite biased.

Nice bringing Hassan back, I felt that he was far from finished in the wrestling ring, and lucky you, you don't have a sensitive tv-channel to answer to. I would have preferred it if Mark Henry stayed in the casket though, and how you managed to scrounge a 3-star match from those two is quite the accomplishment.

Nice work, keep it going!

Yeah, I was surprised by that rating too but I was even more surprised when on my RAW circuit I had Big Show and Kane vs. Rene Dupree and Rob Conway and it was a 5 star match that went over an hour. :P

Anyway, I changed the spelling of shillelagh and made it bold instead of in quotes so it's easier to read. :)

Thanks to everyone who commented.  ;D

Alright, so I'm guessing I'll have the next one up sometime this week. Assuming nothing happens to slow me down. :)
