This is a new circuit, I'm about a month in and its going well, so I thought I'd share. This is the first show. The Action Zone is the Friday Night sensation sweeping the nation. Well, maybe not, but it is the weekly TV show for the GWA.

The Action Zone - Jan. 13th, 2006

  ~Hardcore Holly vs. Rob Conway~

Holly goes for a rana, but Conway countered with a power bomb. 3 seconds later that was all she wrote. Conway enjoyed the boos, as Holly looked stunned at the loss.

Rob Conway pinned Hardcore Holly after a power bomb in 0:11:29.
Rating: ** 1/2

~Masato Tanaka vs. "Above Average" Mike Sanders~

Tanaka dominated this confrontation and ended the match with the Diamond Dust, much to the delight of fans. Tanaka will look to capitalize on this victory as he heads into the GWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament.

Masato Tanaka pinned Mike Sanders after the Diamond Dust in 0:09:21.
Rating: ** 1/4

~"The Shooter" Dean Malenko vs. "Prime Time" Elix Skipper~

Dean Malenko is making a comeback and has been out of the game for awhile. However, he showed no ring rust as he took the fight right to Skipper. Skipper gave it a good effort but in the end Malenko made him tap with a Boston Crab and Malenko looks primed for some gold.

Dean Malenko defeated Elix Skipper when Elix Skipper passed out in a Boston crab
in 0:07:01.
Rating: **

~ Mark Jindrak vs. "The Monster" Abyss (w/Father James Mitchell)~

Abyss is an absolute beast. Jindrak is no slouch however. It wasn't a fair match though. Abyss handled Jindrak from bell to bell. After over 15 minutes of a hellacious beating Abyss finally put an end to it with The Blackhole Slam.

Abyss pinned Mark Jindrak with the Black Hole Slam in 0:14:59.
Rating: ** 1/4

~ "The King of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett (w/Gail Kim) comes out to a chorus of boos. Fans nationwide seem to despise Jarrett and his "Mountain" of an ego. Double J proclaims he is what drives Pro Wrestling. He then talks about the GWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament and throws his name into the proverbial "hat" and claims he will win the GWA World Heavyweight Title~

~ Tag Team Titles Tournament Semi-Finals~
The Hardy Boys (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)

The WGTT & The Hardys both reunited for a shot at tag team glory here in the GWA. Haas & Benjamin were clicking on all cylinders, while The Hardy's seemed a little confused & mixed up. It really showed that perhaps The Hardys are past their prime, while Haas & Benjamin are back in the Title mix. In the end Jeff & Matt just couldn't come back and lost to a very hungry & athletic World's Greatest Tag Team.

The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) defeated
The Hardy Boys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) when S. Benjamin pinned J. Hardy
after a Northern Lights suplex in 0:19:33.

The Show (Rob Van Dam & Sabu) vs. Second City Saints (CM Punk & Colt Cabana)

Van Dam & Sabu came out and RVD proclaimed that since they have arrived GWA THE SHOW could begin. The Second City Saints (CM Punk & Colt Cabana then came out and a fight was on. The Saints looked good, but RVD & Sabu have an undeniable chemistry. Sabu took Punk out back to the proverbial whipping shed and RVD ended the match with a Five Star Frog Splash on Cabana. The Crowd broke into a "RVD" chant.

The Show (Rob Van Dam and Sabu) defeated
The Second City Saints (CM Punk and Colt Cabana) when RVD pinned Colt with the
Five Star Frog Splash in 0:15:08.
Rating: *** 1/4

~Following the match, we cut to backstage where Jeff & Matt Hardy looked dejected after their loss. All of a sudden Raven appears and it seems he is giving the Hardys a pep talk, or teaching them a lesson of some kind as Jeff looks on intently & Matt seems to believe whatever it is that is said~

~ MAIN EVENT~
"Y2J" Chris Jericho vs. "The Rated-R Superstar" Edge (w/Lita)

Jericho got the upperhand and looked to have the match won as he looked in the Walls of Jericho. But Edge showed his guts as he battled out of it and connected with a spear out of no where for the big win in the first Main Event in GWA history. However, during the match Edge injured his left knee and left the arena limping noticably until medics came out with a wheel chair and brought him in for testing.

Edge pinned Chris Jericho with the Spear in 0:18:02.
Edge injured his left knee. He will be out for approximately 5 months.
Rating: ****

Edge tore a ligament in his knee and will be out for 5 months. This is a huge blow as my first choice for top heel was Edge and now he is out for 5 months.

Before I give proper feedback, booked or unbooked?
Murphy42782Posted on 01/16/06 at 19:00:50

I book most of the uppercard stuff, but I let TNM decide some outcomes if its irrelevant. But Titles I book and if a story line will benefit from booking a non-title match then I do it. If a top guy is fighting bottom of the barrel guys then I tend to book it.
