GLWF Action TV: 3/26/05...

americamamushiPosted on 01/13/06 at 14:34:52

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and have we got a great show for you!  Tonight we'll see four great matches featuring the stars of the GLWF.  We'll see a 7-man battle royal featuring Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson, Doug Williams, Harry Smith, Josh Abercrombie, Sonny Siaki and Tyson Dux, Tank Toland of the Destruction Crew will take on Raven, and after defeating Austin Aries last week Samoa Joe will face Michael Shane for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title!  Plus there have been rumors floating around all week of a special guest appearing tonight, but right now let's go down to Clara Michaels for the introductions to our first match featuring Shocker and Rene Dupree!

Clara Michaels: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the GLWF!  Our first match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Los Angeles, California... weighing in at 196lbs... "1000% Guapo" Shocker!  And his opponent... from Paris, France... weighing in at 250lbs... "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree!

This match was made due to what happened during last week's little dance off.  It was supposed to be Ernest Miller and Rene Dupree shaking their proverbial booties, but at the end Shocker came out and strutted his own stuff.  The fans of course choose Shocker as the winner not only due to his nice latin moves, but also due to the fact that they like him, and don't much care for Miller or Dupree.  This match was good for it's length.  Shocker kept the pace quick and Dupree kept up nicely.  Shocker seemed more in control and had Dupree fighting his fight.  It didn't take long for Ernest Miller to strut down to the ring.  Shocker tried to put Dupree in the Reinera at an attempt to finish the match, but got a little distracted once he noticed Miller, giving Dupree enough of a window to slide off and hit the Cobra Clutch Slam.

Rene Dupree pinned Shocker with the Cobra Clutch Slam in 0:04:44.
Rating: ***

After the match Miller entered the ring and he and Dupree put the boots to Shocker.  Dupree lifted Shocker up and held him as Miller went up top for the Feliner, but down the aisle comes Jimmy Jacobs!  He shoves Miller off the top rope!  Dupree throws down Shocker and tries to knock Jimmy off the apron, but Jimmy ducks, grabs Dupree and smashes his head into the turnbuckle.  Dupree staggers back.  Jimmy pops up top and hits a flying dropkick!  Lucky for Shocker Jimmy Jacobs was in a good samaritan mood tonight and stopped the beat down before things went to far.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a 7-man over the top rope battle royal!  And introducing the competitors already in the ring... Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson, Doug Williams, Harry Smith, Josh Abercrombie, Sonny Siaki and Tyson Dux!

The first 6 minutes of the battle royal were packed with action.  Four eliminations and several near eliminations as well.  First out was Harry Smith who Austin Aries caught by complete surprise.  Before Smith knew what hit him he was over the top rope, to the floor, and furious that he let himself get eliminated so darn quickly.  Austin Aries should have kept his mind on the match rather than taunting Smith over his elimination because no more than 20 seconds later Abercrombie dumped Aries over the top rope.  While all that had been going on Tyson Dux had been battling with Doug Williams and managed to save himself from elimination by Doug once already.  Williams hit a hard backbreaker and tried to throw Dux over the top.  Dux held onto the ropes, but lucky for Williams he caught this and a well placed knee to the back sent Dux to the outside.  Williams then turned his attention to Abercrombie, or rather Abercrombie got the jump on Williams while Danielson and Siaki fought it out on the opposite side of the ring.  It really looked like Abercrombie was going to eliminate Williams after some hard shots, but when he ran in for a clothesline to send him over, Williams backdropped him to the floor, getting himself another elimination.  Now since Danielson and Siaki were preoccupied with themselves Williams took a breather for a few minutes until Danielson had Siaki in a position where he was about to be thrown over the ropes.  Williams rushed in to help with the elimination and then went right to work on Danielson, who was a bit more tired than Williams, not having had the breather that the Anarchist did.  Williams seemed confident that he was going to win the battle royal, already defeating Danielson in his GCW debut.  Danielson held on though and got an opening where he unleashed several kicks to Williams' thigh.  Williams let down his guard for a second to hold his thigh in pain and Danielson quickly lunged on the opportunity and got the elimination on Williams, who looked like he'd just seen a ghost after he hit the floor.  Williams tried to argue with the official on the outside of the ring that it wasn't fare, but the ref was having none of it.

7-Man Battle Royal:
Bryan Danielson won a 7-man Battle Royal:
x Aries threw out Smith in 0:01:54
x J. Abercrombie threw out Aries in 0:02:26
x D. Williams threw out Dux after a backbreaker in 0:03:31
        x D. Williams threw out J. Abercrombie in 0:06:07
x D. Williams threw out Siaki in 0:12:35
x B. Danielson threw out D. Williams after a kick to the thigh in 0:16:22

Clara Michaels: And now for tonight's special guest... GCW star the Amazing Red!

Amazing Red: Thank you for that warm welcome everyone.  I'm just here tonight to say that my injury is healing nicely and I plan on making my return to the ring really soon.  I also want to thank all of you for the support you've given me through your e-mails and letters.  They've really helped the healing process, and I...

Tyson Dux: Well pin a rose on your nose.  I'm not usually one to come out here and make a ruckus, but I'm making an exception tonight.  I'm sick of you hoity-toity GCW guys coming down here and sticking your noses up at us like we're second class citizens.  This isn't a little soap box for you to preach on and this certainly isn't someplace where you think you can come to take is easy.  This is the GL f'n WF.  And since you're all healed up I say we have a little match, right here right now in front of all of these GLWF fans.  *to the fans* What do you think guys? *fans cheer*

Amazing Red: I didn't come here to wrestle Bucks...

Tyson Dux: It's Dux!  See?  This is what I'm talking about.  It's exactly what I'm talking about.  Why don't you just go back to the GCW and count the lights on the ceiling like you did before you got injured.

Amazing Red: I didn't come here for trouble, but if you want a match with me that badly, lets do it.

Amazing Red and Tyson Dux went 110% from the get go.  It was a spot monkey's dream.  Dux wrestled like he hadn't just been in a battle royal, possibly because he was only in their for 3 minutes before getting eliminated.  Amazing Red didn't seem to be taking it easy one bit even though this is his first match in a while since he is just coming off of injury.  In the 5 minutes this match lasted there were several falls, but none went past a count of one.  Red managed to pull out the win after flying off the top rope and hitting a swinging DDT on his way down.  Dux kicked out, but it was just a second too late.

Amazing Red pinned Tyson Dux after a flying swinging DDT in 0:05:04.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Atlantic City, New Jersey... weighing in at 225lbs... one half of the Great Lakes Tag Team champions... Tank Toland!  And his opponent... from the Bowery... weighing in at 225lbs...Raven!

This was the third meeting between Raven & Toland, though the first in singles action.  They face off with their respective partners in the Semi-Finals of the tag tourney and the Destruction Crew successfully defended the titles against them last week as well.  Both men looked good and wrestled a fairly slow paced match.  Neither of their partners were at ringside surprisingly at least not at the start of the match.  Raven started to take a definite offensive position first, but Tank turned things around after Raven brought the battle to the ringside area.  Raven could've had a pin and a win probably after a Raven Effect onto the floor, but decided not to keep laying the proverbial smack down.  Tank hit a big spear out of no where to even the playing field.  The ref got up to 8 before they finally got back into the ring.  The staggered to their feet and started trading blows.  H.B. Cade came running down to the ring at this point and seemed poised to hit Tank if the moment should arise.  Before he could do anything though down came Lashley!  He attacked Cade and the two started brawling up the aisle way.  Meanwhile in the ring Raven and Tank each ducked a clothesline sent by the other.  Tank tried for a bodyslam, but Raven elbowed him in the back of the head and promptly hit the Raven Effect, following it with the pin.

Raven pinned Tank Toland with the Raven Effect in 0:08:06.
Rating: ** 3/4

Clara Michaels: And now for our main event match of the evening!  It is a singles match scheduled for one fall and it is for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title!  Introducing first... from Orange County, California... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!  And his opponent... accompanied to the ring by Traci Brooks... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 201lbs... the Great Lakes Heavyweight champion... "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane!

Paul Burchill: Now wait one damn minute.  There is no way I'm letting this match happen.  At least not without me in it.  *The fans cheer, not seeming to mind adding Burchill to the main event match*  Last week you arranged for that ridiculous little time limit for our match.  I know why you did it Shane.  It's because you were afraid.  The title may not have been on the line last week, but you knew that if I beat you I would get a title shot.  With that stupid ten minute time limit all you had to do was last 10 minutes, anyway you could and you wouldn't have to worry about me getting a title shot.  Well I'm interjecting myself right here and now.  I don't care if Samoa Joe likes it, and certainly don't bloody care if you like Michael Shane, but this match for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title just turned into a triple threat!

Neither Joe nor Shane seemed pleased with the forceful addition of Burchill to tonight's match.  Samoa Joe hasn't had the best record against Michael Shane in the past weeks and now with an extra wrestler thrown into the mix, it just made getting a win tonight all that much harder for him.  The entire match was fought between Shane & Joe.  Neither one would tag in Burchill and he quickly grew frustrated with his lack of involvement.  Other than breaking a pin or submission attempt Burchill was stuck on the apron, hoping someone would tag him in.  Samoa Joe had several chances to win, but eachone was stopped by Burchill.  Finally Joe had enough and after Burchill broke the Kokina Clutch for a third time he got into Burchill's face.  The two shouted and argued as the ref tried in vane to get Burchill back out of the ring.  Then the ref stopped trying and left the two to argue.  Ten second later the bell was ringing and Burchill and Joe were stopped in their arguing, wondering what the hell was going on.  Michael Shane had been counted out.  He was standing up in the aisle laughing at Joe & Burchill.  That's why the ref had stopped trying to get Burchill out of the ring, to start a ten count on Michael Shane.  Shane managed to retain the title against two of GLWF's biggest and most dominant forces and it was just another "Screw you" by Michael Shane to Samoa Joe.

[MAIN EVENT]: Triangle Match:
Samoa Joe defeated Paul Burchill and Michael Shane when Joe defeated M. Shane by countout in 0:10:48.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Michael Shane retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)

After the dust had settled Joe and Burchill went back to arguing, then shoving, then brawling.  They brawled in the ring.  Then outside the ring, then spilling into the crowd, and finally managed to brawl their way to the back.  What a night.  Next week is a big week for GLWF as for the first time we'll be leaving the GLWF facilities for the first time and bringing you wrestling action outdoors from the Convis Softball Field at Barly Park in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Scheduled for next week are the following matches: Austin Aries vs. Harry Smith, Bryan Danielson vs. Doug Williams, Amazing Red vs. Sonny Siaki, Jimmy Jacobs & Shocker vs. Rene Dupree & Ernest Miller, and in the main event the other half of the Great Lakes Tag Team champions Bobby Lashley vs. H.B. Cade!  We hope to see you then!

I see the GCW/WWE vs GLWF/OVW angles start playing itself out now. It must be fun writing together like this.. do you correspond a lot as to what should be happening and such?

Not a big fan of countouts in three-ways.. and I would love for you to have some sort of PPV so that matches go could longer.

We do correspond, but we're each in charge of our own booking.  We help each other with angles when it calls for it or help is requested, but we're each doing our own thing.  The main correspondence we have is I'll tell Chris, since I'm the "WWE" of this, things like, "Hey, Doug Williams is back from injury.  Give him a few matches," or "Wrestler A will be called up on xx/xx/2005, so be ready to lose him then."  But other than that, what actually happens on the shows is our own creative thought.
