La Parka (c) vs Jeff Hardy (cruiserweight title)

Jeff Hardy got his wish, and a shot at the cruiserweight title in the opening
match of the evening against La Parka. La Parka has already gotten a couple of
successful title defenses under his belt in his short time as champion and Jeff
Hardy proved early on to not be a problem, at least no more than the previous
challengers. La Parka proved as infuriating as ever - move, dance, move, strut,
move, air guitar.

Hardy gave La Parka his fair share of offence in return but it was La Parka who
was heading things up, when out waltzed Don Muraco himself to perch himself at
ringside. Right away he made his impact when Jeff Hardy knocked La Parka down
and choked him on the ropes. When the ref admonished Hardy, Muraco was up on
the apron to deliver a massive chokeslam to La Parka.

With La Parka out, Jeff Hardy sauntered up to the top and delivered the Haiku
Bomb and by hook and by crook, he registered the pin and claimed the
cruiserweight title. Of course, he didn't do it by himself, but now Camp Muraco
has double the gold on board, and they did it in the cheapest of manners.

Jeff Hardy pinned La Parka Jr. with the Haiku Bomb in 0:07:35.

Dynamite Kid vs Heidenreich

Matt Hardys ego has inflated so much recently that he's making enemies left,
right and centre and EVERYONE is beginning to hate him. Power will corrupt
like that, and when the guy refers to himself as "the leader of the DWF" (as he
did tonight), you know that it applies here. One man who has really felt the
brunt of Hardys abuse of power recently is Dynamite Kid, who found himself
facing Heidenreich tonight. Having just scored a victory over Snitsky, at which
Hardy told him it was only the start, he knew something was up here but treated
the match like any other.

Sure enough, the experienced Dynamite took the initiative and was obviously
the better wrestler despite several impressive moments of strength from
Heidenreich. Perhaps if Heidenreich hadn't kept stopping to try and burn
Dynamite with his laser vision, and then protest about the use of a forcefield,
he might have gotten further, but Dynamite took over well, with several stiff
lariats and a snap suplex that left his larger foe down.

Up Dynamite headed for the Swandive, only for Snitsky to push him off the
ropes for a blatant DQ that Matt Hardy was quite happily endorsing. Indeed,
Snitsky and Heidenreich gave Dynamite a good stomping, before apparently
penetrating his forcefield with their powers. Snitsky clearly suggested they
give Dynamite his funeral, only for Heidenreich to refuse on the grounds of
the need for a casket.

Meanwhile Hardy stood over Dynamite (still breathing, not burning at all) and
told him that he would use Dynamite as an example to the rest of the DWF to
never questions his motives or decisions, and made a match between the two of
them this Sunday at Revenge is Sweet.

Dynamite Kid defeated Heidenreich by disqualification in 0:06:27.

"The Rock" Brad Armstrong vs Juventud Guerrera

Brad Armstrong is hot, and how irritating must it be for a man with a fuse as
short as his that he's hot with the likes of Hunter Hearst-Helmsley and
especially Rockabilly. He had more pressing issues today, against Juventud
Guerrera. Guerrera is an angry guy too, and refering to Brad as "Gayers Rock"
and "Sad Farm-mong" didn't go down well, and before you could smell what
anyone was cooking, Brad was going to work on Juvi like a man possessed.

It didn't last though - with Juvi down following the Rock Bottom, and the
Peoples Elbow lined up, Brad spied Helmsley and Rockabilly (who was executing
"Shufflebilly" at the curtain). Armstrong wasted no time in running after them,
and as quickly as they'd entered, Helmsley and Rockabilly got out of dodge.
Armstrong gave up on that and began to head back to the ring only to get
counted out, giving the win to Juventud.

Juventuds celebrations were quickly cut short. Armstrong made his way back to
the ring, so Juvi jumped him before Brad could jump him. Juventud delivered a
series of forearms, but Brad fired back with a spinebuster, and the Peoples
Elbow this time came. Brad wasn't done though, and grabbing a mic he accepted
Helmsleys challenge of last week, but only if he would be facing Rockabilly
instead. Rockabilly reappeared and gladly accepted, promising to deliver the
most electrifying move in sports entertainment today, Shufflebilly. Brad
declared it the most snoozifyingly ass-backwards heap of monkeys crap move in
sports entertainment and vowed to layeth the smackdown on Rockabilly. Let's all
hope he does.

Juventud Guerrera defeated Brad Armstrong by count out in 0:07:50.

Edge vs Chavo Classic

Matt Hardy continued to make enemies as, following Edge and Christians decision
to ignore Hardys advice by picking The Syndicate as their first challengers,
he booked Edge to face Chavo Classic. Not stopping there, he had Christian AND
Rob Van Dam escorted from the building by security, then made a very clear
order to referee Charles Robinson that under no circumstances should Chavo be
disqualified in this match if Robinson valued his job.

Edge was up for the match, but it was useless, as the moment he gained any
serious advantage, Mando Guerrero ran down and blasted Edge right under Charles
Robinsons eyes. The ref had no alternative but to let it go and the two of them
did a number on Edge before finishing him off with their respective finishers,
Chavos Chavobomb being the decisive blow. A cheap, cheap victory that Chavo
well and truly stole from Edge.

This might send a message that crossing the "boss" is a bad idea, but Matt
Hardy wasn't done. Reminding us that Pretty Perfect have a guarenteed title
shot at Badd Blood next month, he announced that for this Sundays tag title
match between Edge & Christian and The Syndicate, Curt Hennig would be the
special guest referee whilst Owen Hart would act as the "bearer of the hammer"
that would be used to ring the bell. Quite whom this stacks the odds up against
is yet to be seen, but I'm sure neither Edge & Christian, nor The Syndicate will
be thrilled at this news.

Chavo Classic pinned Edge with the Chavobomb in 0:09:27.

Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle has already lost one shot at Muraco, but impressed sufficiently to
perhaps earn a second chance. Rhyno meanwhile would love a chance to get his
hands on Muraco as we well know, and the stakes have been upped with Rhyno now
being slated to meet Angle in a number one contenders match. Angle may not have
any animosity towards Rhyno, but then he doesn't have any animosity towards
the man he faced today, Rey Mysterio, and that didn't stop him doing a number
on him.

Truth be told, Rey held his own well but Angle always looked slightly ahead.
That said, Rey put together a good streak at the end, and had Angle lined up
for the 6-1-9, but Angle being as good as he is caught Rey by the legs and
slapped on the ankle lock submission. There was no escape for Rey and that was
that. And just to further his point, Angle kept the hold on for an extended
period after the bell, before telling the crowd that this Sunday would be the
first step to his finally becoming world champion, and not even the "midget
Mexican scum" that he'd just beaten could stop him.

Kurt Angle made Rey Mysterio submit to the ankle lock in 0:14:24.

Low Ki & Kid Kash vs Los Villanos

With Juventud Guerrera the opposition in the triple threat match this Sunday,
Low Ki and Kid Kash had themselves a warm-up of sorts against Los Villanos.
OK, they'll be opponents on Sunday rather than partners, and OK, Los Villanos
are more than just warm-up opponents, but Low Ki and Kid Kash didn't need to
work too hard to score the win, Low Ki scoring the pin on one of the Villanos
with the Ki Krusher. Now Kid Kash still has his shot at the cruiserweight title
to take, but one has to think that if one of Low Ki and Juventud win this
Sunday, they too will be in line for a title shot.

Kid Kash and Low Ki defeated Los Villanos (Villano IV and Villano V) when Ki
pinned Villano IV with his special move in 0:03:41.
Rating: *** 1/4

Essa Rios vs Larry Zbyszko

Larry Zbyszko has been troubled greatly by John Cena is recent months, but has
been arrogant and confident of his abilities for even longer. Against Essa
Rios today, Zbyszko demonstrated a lot of that ability and was by and large the
better wrestler. Rios came back late on, but missed a charge into the
turnbuckles, allowing Larry to scoop him up for the shoulderbreaker. Connecting
with the move, Larry made the pin and scored another victory.

Naturally it was only a matter of time before John Cena appeared, and appear
he did as Zbyszko celebrated the win. Cena told us what we all already knew, in
that he had hired The Young Lions to investigate something on Zbyszko, and he
brought them out to announce their findings. Inspector Joey said they had been
looking into Zbyszkos boasts, examining his matches and watching his interviews
and they had found out he was a liar for two reasons. First of all, they
declared that they had found out that Zbyszko actually sucked and wasn't as
good as he claimed. As for the second reason, they had someone else to give
evidence for them... BRUNO!

Suffice to say, Zbyszko was shocked at seeing his old mentor turned nemesis
out here, but Sammartino had a few words of his own - every now and again over
the past year, he'd switch over to the wrestling and see this punk Larry
exaggerating the truth about their match in 1980, and he was sick to death of
it, to the point that he'd come out of retirement to kick Zbyszkos ass. Bruno
had signed himself a two match deal with the DWF to do just that, and starting
this Sunday, he and John Cena will team up to take on Larry Zbyszko and Coach.
How Sammartino will fare is yet to be seen, but maybe now Zbyszko can finally
put up or shut up with his claims about what he did in 1980 at last...

Larry Zbyszko pinned Essa Rios with the Shoulderbreaker in 0:06:42.
Rating: *** 1/4

Rhyno vs Paul Roma

As impressive as Kurt Angle had been earlier, Rhyno was a different sort of
impressive. Facing Paul Roma, Rhyno hit the Gore seconds after the bell and it
was all over. We've seen what the Gore can do to people - even Don Muraco
(albeit assisted by a table), Kurt Angle would stand no chance if hit with it.

Rhyno pinned Paul Roma with the Gore in 0:00:13.

La Resistance (c) vs Hayabusa & Tajiri (Intercontinental tag team titles)

La Resistance had themselves a title defense today, taking on the rejuvinated
team of Hayabusa and Tajiri. Rejuvinated because several singles victories have
been scored in their recent feud with the Miracle Violence Connection, which
has proved particularly beneficial for Hayabusa - more on that later. For now
they had to worry about La Resistance and the Intercontinental tag team titles
that were up for grabs. In a tightly fought contest, the Japanese duo worked
hard to gain the edge, so of course out strolled the MVC for a closer look.

Finally Hayabusa as in control and after the customary pier-six, he delivered
the Stardust Press to Grenier, only for Gordy to pull him off at two. The
subsequent distraction, with Tajiri diving out and green misting Gordy allowed
Dupree to sneak in and hit the French Riviera, and getting the cheap win. As
they celebrated though, we learnt that this Sunday they will defend their titles
against The Pitbulls, as had recently been threatened. Hayabusa meanwhile, for
all his recent wins, has been rewarded with having the first crack at Jeff
Hardys cruiserweight title, and that should provide quite the challenge for
Hardy - if he comes alone.

La Resistance (Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier) defeated
Hayabusa & Tajiri (Hayabusa and Tajiri) when R. Dupree pinned Hayabusa with the
French Riviera in 0:06:07.

(La Resistance retained the Intercontinental Tag Team Titles.)

Raven vs Steve Corino (non title match)

With less than a week to go before Revenge is Sweet, Raven finally has his
chance to challenge Don Muraco for the heavyweight title. With the head to head
record standing at a win each (Raven is the only person ever to pin Muraco),
this one could go either way. But things were made much harder for Raven when
he found himself booked in a match with television champion Steve Corino on
tonights show - Matt Hardys booking perhaps?

Steve Corino actually had other business prior to the main event to take care
of first. Matt Hardy may have given him the chance to take on his old foe but
he certainly wasn't going to start giving Corino everything he wanted, and
informed him that the TV title would be defended at Revenge is Sweet in a
ladder match against the two people who just put a black mark on his record,
Chris Jericho and Bobby Eaton. Corino agreed on the basis that a fourth man
could be entered, that being Billy Kidman. Hardy noted that this wasn't
entirely fair, but agreed to it anyway.

So Corino has backup in that title match, and Kidman provided the necessary
backup again here, lurking at ringside whilst Corino and Raven duked it out.
Corino and Raven have a very bitter rivalry, and with Corino scoring a pin on
Raven a few weeks back, he had the psychological edge. As with all their
previous encounters, this one remained tight. Too tight for Kidmans liking,
who began interjecting himself with the usual chicanery - trips, distractions
and the like.

Raven, being the kind of competitor he is, despite insurmountable odds, began
fighting back, and clearly had Corino on the back foot. A series of clotheslines
came from Raven and Kidman, sensing the danger, got onto the apron. Quickly the
ref went over to admonish him, just as Corino flashed up and hit the Old
School Expulsion, out of nowhere, on a stunned Raven. Corino went for the cover
only to see the ref giving Kidman a ticking off, all the while Kidman was
trying to get the ref to turn around.

It took so long for the ref to finish that Corino didn't even bother going
back to the cover and went back to working on Raven. After a few hard stomps,
Corino picked up Raven and went for the Old School Expulsion again, but Raven
ducked it and caught Corino with a kick to the gut followed by the Evenflow,
and once again Raven had won against the odds.

For Corino, grave disappointment at losing a big match. Raven meanwhile might
only be facing one man this Sunday, but facing Muraco is the rough equivalent
of having to deal with two people. Still, he's beat him once before...

Raven pinned Steve Corino with the Evenflow in 0:13:47.

I love your description of La Parka.  When I went to Mexico last summer my goal was to find all the La Parka stuff I could find.  I ended up rounding up a few wrestling magazines with him on the cover and an action figure that was inverted in colors, so his overall color was white and the "bones" were black.  I would have bought the other one too but I picked up El Santo and Ultimo Dragon as well.

Anyhoo, DWF is my favorite circuit to read on this boards.

Don Muraco (c) vs Raven (world heavyweight title)

I'm pulling for Raven.

Edge & Christian (c) vs The Syndicate (tag team titles - special guest referee Curt Hennig, special guest bearer of the hammer Owen Hart)

It doesn't matter who wins this win to me.

Steve Corino (c) vs Billy Kidman vs Chris Jericho vs Bobby Eaton (television title, ladder match)

I'm pulling for Corino but if anyone takes his title I would rather it be Eaton.

Jeff Hardy (c) vs Hayabusa (cruiserweight title)

Hayabusa!

La Resistance (c) vs The Pitbulls (intercontinental tag team titles)

The Pitbulls!

Rhyno vs Kurt Angle (#1 contenders match)

Hmmm... I like 'em both. I'll wait and see...

"Unnecessarily Evil" John Cena & Bruno Sammartino vs Larry Zbyszko & Coach

I gotta pull for Zbyszko!

Dynamite Kid vs Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy!

"The Rock" Brad Armstrong vs Rockabilly (debut match)

I don't really care.

Low Ki vs Kid Kash vs Juventud Guerrera

Juvy!

Plus Brian Pillman appears on the Kings Court

I have thought about bringing Owen Hart into my circuit but feel a little odd about having dead wrestlers in my circuit.  I didn't add Eddie for that reason, but I'm thinking of ditching the idea and bringing in some guys I really want.

This card looks great and I look forward to reading it!

LA PARKA!  ;D
Snabbit888Posted on 12/26/05 at 21:13:01

Though I like your Jeff Hardy character, considering he has been anything but full-time the past year or so at least, I'm a little miffed that he beat the super-mega-over La Parka.

Dynamite wins in slightly predictable fashion.  Though your booking of Matt Hardy is logical, the only downside of it for me is that  the whole "heel commissioner" angle is done to death.  No fault of yours, but rather the nature of wrestling at this point.

The Rock vs. Rockabilly!  Why isn't this the main event!?

It'll be very interesting to see what Pretty Perfect tries to pull.  My guess is they either remain neutral during the match and then jump the winners, or that they end up destroying both teams setting up a triple threat at the next PPV.

I know if wrestling that wrestlers can be "re-heated" and there aren't many wrestlers who were once over that would be impossible to do again, but Kurt Angle really DOES need to fully plant himself in the main event.  He's been jumping in and out for awhile now and it has hurt him more than it has helped him.  I just don't see him beating Rhyno at this point though.

Note to self: Quit picking Los Villanos to win... IMMEDIATELY.

Ha ha.  One of the perks of a circuit that doesn't acknowledge wrestler deaths or retirements is that we get to see Bruno and Larry Z go at it one more time!  Hooray!

It took Rhyno 13 seconds to beat Paul Roma?  Geez.  He's losing his edge already. :)

Oh those sneaky French bastards.  Gotta love it.  Pitbulls may have their number though.

Wow... that's Corino's first loss in awhile.  Given the circumstances, I would have called it, but still.  He has been awesome, but he's not quite to the point of elevating the TV Title to equal status yet.

PPV PREDICTIONS!  YAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Don Muraco (c) vs Raven (world heavyweight title)

*** Muraco retains.

Edge & Christian (c) vs The Syndicate (tag team titles - special guest referee Curt Hennig, special guest bearer of the hammer Owen Hart)

*** E & C, baby!

Steve Corino (c) vs Billy Kidman vs Chris Jericho vs Bobby Eaton (television title, ladder match)

*** Corino retains, but some tension is built between he and Kidman.

Jeff Hardy (c) vs Hayabusa (cruiserweight title)

*** Jeff Hardy

La Resistance (c) vs The Pitbulls (intercontinental tag team titles)

*** Pitbulls get the almost obligatory title change here.

Rhyno vs Kurt Angle (#1 contenders match)

*** Rhyno stays hot.

"Unnecessarily Evil" John Cena & Bruno Sammartino vs Larry Zbyszko & Coach

*** Bruno's not going to come back to job.

Dynamite Kid vs Matt Hardy

*** Dynamite when Fleisch returns.

"The Rock" Brad Armstrong vs Rockabilly (debut match)

*** \ THE ROCK /

Low Ki vs Kid Kash vs Juventud Guerrera

*** Kash

Plus Brian Pillman appears on the Kings Court

*** This will be fun. :)
