GLWF Action TV: 3/19/05...

americamamushiPosted on 12/31/05 at 06:45:28

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and have we got a great show for you!  Tonight we've got an exciting line-up of four matches for all you GLWF fans out there.  Michael Shane has arranged for his protege Austin Aries to wrestle Samoa Joe, Michael Shane will be in non-title action against Paul Burchill, we'll see Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller in a Dance Off of all things, and after what happened two weeks ago with Raven & H.B. Cade attacking them after their semi-final victory, the Destruction Crew have demanded that they get a match with the two men.  They want to settle the score so badly in fact that they were quick to agree to put the Great Lakes Tag Team titles on the line just one week after winning them in a hard fought match with Harry Smith & Bryan Danielson in a Raven's Rules match of all things.  All that plus we have a special surprise for you, GCW wrestler "The Anarchist" Doug Williams will be wrestling Bryan Danielson and that match is going to start right now.  Let's take it down to Clara Michaels for the introductions!

Clara Michaels: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the GLWF!  Our first match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Aberdeen, Washington... weighing in at 185lbs... "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!  And his opponent... from Maidstone, Kent, England... weighing in at 235lbs... "The Anarchist" Doug Williams!

Doug Williams is just coming off of an injury that he suffered up in GCW and has decided to come to GLWF before heading back up to GCW so "take it easy" as it is rumored he has stated.  Whether or not it's true, a lot of GLWF wrestlers aren't happy with the fact that Williams is here.  One of those men is Bryan Danielson who apparently jumped at the chance to face Doug Williams and show him what GLWF is all about.  Danielson invited Williams to take the first shot.  Williams took the opportunity and went on the attack, but Danielson reversed Williams' attempts at holds and suplexes and managed to end things by maneuvering over Williams head when he tried for a powerbomb and hit a sunset flip for a two count.  Williams seemed to be suffering from some ring rust and getting frustrated wasn't going to help Williams' cause at all.  The two exchanged again and again, but the third time Danielson just reversed Williams' attempts until Williams caught Danielson off guard with a huge lariat.  Williams stayed on the attack for the rest of the match.  He was brutal and unrelenting.  Perhaps he did have a "holier-than-thou" attitude when it came to being in the GLWF.  Danielson tried to fight back, but Williams was in the zone and hit the Revolution DDT for the win.

Doug Williams pinned Bryan Danielson with the Revolution DDT in 0:07:07.
Rating: *** 3/4

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Orange County, California... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!  And his opponent... led to the ring by Traci Brooks and Michael Shane... from Milwaukee, Wisconsin... weighing in at 202lbs... Austin Aries!

Samoa Joe: No, no, no, no, no.  I don't want to face Austin Aries... I want you Michael Shane! *fans cheer in agreement* I want the Great Lakes Heavyweight champion.  I want the man that screwed me over twice for that belt.  It should've been me to beat you last week so it should be me that beats you this week.  Not Paul Burchill.  Me.

Michael Shane: I don't think so Joe.  You're beneath me.  Burchill is a freak of nature and even he got lucky.  You?  You're just a fat island boy.  You should be lookin' for the poo-poo platter, not a title shot with the Essence of Excellence.  But I'm a fair man, I'll tell you what... I've been putting Austin here through some extra hard training.  He's not ready to speak for himself yet, I don't trust him to speak with the candour I do, but if he could talk for himself he'd tell you that he's ready to beat you into next week, if fact, he's so ready me and Traci aren't even gonna stick around to watch him win.  So if you can beat Austin tonight then next week I'll give you a title shot.  But that, my friend, is one big if.

Austin Aries really did look good at the start of the match.  He was on fire, aided by the fact that he attacked Joe before the bell.  Aries was throwing rights, lefts, kicks, headbutts, he was popping off the ropes, popping off the top rope, springboarding.  He was like a monkey he drank too much cola and it seemed like Joe might be in trouble.  Then just when it looked like Joe was going to fall over after Aries' barrage a smirk crawled across his face and Aries look of confidence changed to one of fear.  He tried to get the hell out of the ring, but Joe grabbed him, threw him into the corner, and took him apart piece by piece with rock hard kicks.  Joe threw Austin around a little bit more before chucking him back into the corner, putting him up on the turnbuckle and hitting a huge muscle buster.

Samoa Joe pinned Austin Aries after a Muscle Buster in 0:04:59.
Rating: *** 1/4

*And now it's time for Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller's dance off.  Dupree starts off and does his little dance and the fans boo.  Miller laughs at him asking if that's all he has to offer.  James Brown music hits and Ernest Miller goes into full on Brown dance mode.  At one point he even starts acting tired and saying "I can't go on, I can't go on" and a ref came over and put a cape on his shoulders and started escorting him out of the ring when he threw off the cape and started dancing again.  Once the music was done it was time to vote.  Each man asked who the fans liked better, both got boos and then some new music hit.  Some latin dance music.  Miller & Dupree look confused... and out comes Shocker!  He's dancing around the aisle and the fans are liking it, at least more than Miller & Dupree.  When he's done he points to Miller & Dupree and the fans boo, he points to himself and the fans cheer.  Shocker celebrates his victory by dancing a little bit more.  Miller & Dupree were obviously not happy with their unexpected third party.*

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a non-title singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Guildford, Surrey, England... weighing in at 280lbs... Paul Burchill!  And his opponent... led to the ring by Traci Brooks... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 201lbs... the Great Lakes Heavyweight champion... "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane!

*Michael Shane whispers something in Clara's ear*

Clara Michaels: I've just been informed that Michael Shane has arranged for this match to have a special 10-minute time limit.

Burchill didn't look happy with the time limit.  He wants to get a win here tonight which would hopefully lead to a title shot.  Michael Shane spent a lot of time playing with Burchill.  Anything to keep Burchill from getting his big meat hooks on him and trashing him up before next week since Shane now knows that he'll be facing Samoa Joe in a title bout.  Shane wasn't happy when he was coming to the ring, but the fact that his protoge had failed him didn't seem to be weighing on his mind at all.  Shane was trying to do whatever he could to get away from Burchill.  He and Traci tried using every trick in the book and really seemed like they didn't care about being DQed in the process.  Job number one was getting Shane out unharmed.  Shane tried to just leave, but Burchill managed to keep him from doing that.  The ref payed a lot of attention to Shane and Traci and if the ref didn't thwart their attempts at cheating then Burchill did.  Time was winding down and Burchill finally clocked Shane with a huge boot to the face.  He ran into the ropes, but Traci pulled the ropes down and Burchill fell out of the ring.  Burchill was mad and looked like he was going to go after Traci, but thought better of it seeing that Shane was still lifeless in the ring Burchill tried to slide back in, but Traci grabbed his foot and held on as best she could.  The timing was good because the second were ticking down and she held his foot just long enough to keep him from getting to Shane to pin him before the time limit expired.  Burchill was almost frozen with rage and chased Traci around the ring and up the aisle to the back.

[SPECIAL 10 MINUTE TIME LIMIT NON-TITLE MATCH]:
Michael Shane and Paul Burchill battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Traci Brooks interfered against Paul Burchill.]

Clara Michaels: Our next match is the main event of the evening and is a Raven's Rules tag team match scheduled for one fall and it is for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles!  Introducing first... weighing in at 496lbs... Raven & "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade!  And their opponents... weighing in at 485lbs... the Great Lakes Tag Team champions... Tank Toland... Bobby "The Bulldozer" Lashley... the Destruction Crew!

This was less of a match and more of a brawl from the get go.  Technically the only official men in the match were Bobby Lashley and H.B. Cade.  They never tagged out because Toland and Raven were way to busy beating the hell out of eachother on the outside.  Lashley & Toland stuck to the high road, just relying on their talent while Cade & Raven took more of an "Any means necessary" route.  That being said there was a lot of give and take between everyone.  Most of the taking that the Destruction Crew did was from road signs, kendo sticks, chairs and the like that were strategically placed under the ring for this special Raven's Rules match but again, Toland & Lashley stuck to their guns and managed to keep up well despite the fact that the refused to sink to the level of their opponents.  It wasn't he prettiest match, but the fans seemed into it and took it for what it was, an all out brawl.  Lashley ducked a superkick and hit a huge over the head belly-to-belly followed by a massive powerbomb onto the turnbuckle.  He then picked up Cade and hit the Hammer of the Gods and pinned Cade.  Raven tried to get into the ring and break the pin but Toland kept him out and the champs kept their titles.

[RAVEN'S RULES MAIN EVENT]:
The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) defeated Raven and H.B. Cade when Lashley pinned H.B. Cade with the Hammer of the Gods in 0:08:17.
Rating: **
(The Destruction Crew retained the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

Raven was pissed and tried to continue to attack Toland, but Toland hit the Tank Turrett and rolled Raven into the ring.  They asked the fans if they wanted to see the Desolation and they did so the Destruction Crew sent the fans home happy and hit it on Raven.  They celebrated with the fans afterwards.  That's it for tonight, join us next week for Action TV when we'll be bringing you a 7-man battle royal as well as a Great Lakes Heavyweight title match between Samoa Joe and the current champion Michael Shane.  See you then everybody!

I like the way you're using Samoa Joe.  I hope Shane's title is getting ready to be taken by the island boy.  Also, I like the Jimmy Jacobs/Alex Shelley stuff you had on the last card.  I enjoy your cards a lot.  They are eyegasmic. :)  The dance off was great!  Reminded me of the Alex Wright/Disco Inferno dance off days in WCW.  Go Miller!  That Shocker ruined what would have been AMAZING!

I can't wait for next week's title match! Go Joe!
