American Wrestling Coalition (Input Please)

Greetings,

I want to run three territory promotions with different styles under one banner, that banner being the American Wrestling Coalition.  I will probably have this booked and unbooked, depending on who's wrestling on the card.  I don't think I'll have big cards for the territory circuits, but the supercards for aWc will be written with promos and match descriptions and whatnot.  This will be pure fantasy, meaning I may have wrestlers of the past in the circuits, or wrestlers who have passed away involved.  I have thought about it and I don't think that is insensitive.

I have listed below the three promotions within the aWc, (LOW, SOW, and IOW), but before I work on the roster I want some input on who you would like to see in these three promotions.  Legends of Wrestling will be my old school, stiff brawling circuit with all the legends.  I'm really looking forward to LOW!  Superstars of Wrestling will have the flashy, WWE sports entertainment feel.  Innovators of Wrestling will have the young, new blood, ECW feel.  I don't know where I'm going to have the aWc Headquarters yet, possible Chicago, IL.  You got any ideas?  Anyhoo, I think this will be real fun.  I'll have small rosters, so just toss out some names of who you might want to see in each circuit, or one of the circuits.  Also, if you have any advice for running something like this, I'm all ears.

I plan to have a web site created in a few days.

Advice: Use the weight class wizard if you have it.

Looking good... I've generally shied away from inter-fed feuds because it always seems to be a booking nightmare for me. (Witness Big Show & Kane go from being faces on RAW, to heels on Smackdown! ...ugh)

Does this mean the CCW is being shelved?

Nope. I still plan to run CCW. :P

Well, toss some names into the hat, guys!

I think I have a roster in my head for LOW.  I've been wanting to run some old legends.  I'll probably have most my hardcore guys/edgy guys in IOW.  I mainly want some input on SOW.  About the only legend I plan to have in SOW is "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan.  What do you guys think?
Snabbit888Posted on 12/29/05 at 07:49:26

My main suggestion is that you should use primarily who you want.  Taking suggestions is fine, yes, but you don't wanna go ONLY on our input.  That's how circuits die.  You get stuck with a bunch of guys you don't care about and so you lose interest.  Just pick who you want.  We'll care a lot more if you care.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think a lot of people go, "Oh, that circuit has so and so.  I'm going to read it now."

Yeah, you don't want to fall into the "SuperstarJimiC-trap", even though you share the same avatar.

And think thoroughly through if you really want to do this, and that you're not biting over more than you can chew (which probably isn't the proverb I was gunning for, but hey..).

I know a lot of people have tried doing universes, but in most cases, such boring things like real-life always comes in the way. Unright seem to be doing OK so far, but take a look at your schedule and think it through. And then think it through again  ;D

Yes, good point rey.  I'm only doing one circuit and I'm 9 months behind. :)

I can handle this.  The three circuits' results will not be in a write fashion and will only host about three to four matches.  The monthly aWc PPV will be written like my CCW but with some promos.  It's not too much.

So true - OK, I do have personal preferences as to who I am and am not more interested in seeing, but as Snabbsy says, as long as you're interested in the guys competing, that's what matters. For example, I like Chris Benoit (natch) but if the guy booking it doesn't like him and all I get is...

Chris Benoit and Sick Boy wrestled to a time limit draw in 0:05:00.
Rating: ** 1/2

User comments: Both men looked good here, Benoit is the Rabid Wolverine.

... then I'm not going to give a toss. Conversely, I don't care for El Gigante (natch-natch), but if someone comes up with a convoluted storyline for him which involves him challenging Triple H for the title and being refused, so he goes on the rampage and kidnaps DX members Roadkill and Albért (playing a French gimmick), before setting fire to Triple H's house, doing some stand up comedy with Tony Schiavone and beating three other guys in one night with well written match descriptions to earn himself a title shot, at which point he has a nervous breakdown and retires in a touching farewell speech in which we get to the root of his troubled character, before Triple H mocks him so hard (culminating in his blowing up the nightclub Gigante owns, killing several Morris dancers) that Gigante has no choice but to come out of retirement and face Triple H in an iron man match which features many cleverly written and original endings to each fall, at which point Triple H wins anyway and goes home, rendering the whole angle pointless - the fact that the match would have had "Rating: -******* 3/4" tacked on would make no different to me whatsoever because at least El Gigantes presence made for interesting reading.

91 with his 91,000,000 storylines.  ;D
