NAWA Glory 4/29/04

MattHarmsPosted on 11/23/05 at 19:48:06

We kick off things in the Chamber of the Council of Five where the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation are walking in. All of them are wearing sweatshirts with jeans except for Teddy Hart who is wearing a three piece suit with his hair slicked back and with a pair of sunglasses on. Teddy has the Cruserweight Title Belt draped over his shoulder while Johnny Devine and Petey Williams have a tag team title belt draped over a shoulder. Jack Evans stands in the background, beltless.

Council of Five Member #1: Ah, Mr. Hart, so glad you could come, as we have summoned you...

Teddy Hart: First of all, Council of Inferiors, I don't come because you summoned me. You have the priveledge of my presense, as I decided to nice enough to honor your request. Perhaps you should show some respect for the best NAWA Cruiserweight Champion ever, who last Sunday had yet another successful title defense, and bow down to greatness. I have held this belt for nearly nine months right now and I am not gong to lose it any time soon, as much as you hope, as much as you decide to attempt to stack the deck against me. Now state we what you are going to say.

Council of Five Member #2: Indeed, Mr. Hart, you have held that belt for nine months, a very impressive reign. You are very good at bending the rules and not avoiding dectection but what you did last Sunday crossed the line that we in the New Age Wrestling Alliance have tried to lay down to enforce a fair working environment.

Council of Five Member #3: Your presense influenced the outcome of two title matches and could have very well influenced a third. The act you pulled disguised as one of our fine officials is not going to fly, but we are going to keep the tag team title change intact. We are not going to strip Petey Williams and Johnny Devine of the NAWA Tag Team Titles, as that would create an unnessary break in the lineage of the tag team titles.

Council of Five Member #4: Therefore, we will have your men defend their tag team titles tonight in tag team competion.

Teddy Hart: I believe that is fair enough. Who should my men be fighting. The ultra awesome French Revolution tag team or perhaps, the dynamic duo of Fernado Romero Entonio Dominic and Twizted Youth, the former NAWA Tag Team Champions, the Backyard Dudes. Or perhaps...

Council of Five Member #5: Those are good choices, if you wanted a token opening tag team title defense but our opponents will be a bit more challenging, a bit more to merit of a main event caliber match. You will be facing off against a team who has teamed together recently. Petey Williams and Johnny Devine will defend their belts against one man who you screwed out of the NAWA World Title recently and another you attempted to screw out of the very same belt. That would be Tony Mamaluke and Ron Waterman.

Teddy Hart does not look too happy about this.

Teddy Hart: No wait. NO FUCKING WAY. What the hell did those two punks do to deserve an NAWA Tag Team Title Shot? I must protest that, as the prodigy of the Cruiserweight Division, there is no way that two world class tag team wrestlers are going to face such an inexperienced team like Mamapuke and Waterhead. I mean, I am sure that there must be some standards around her and I refuse to let a faceless council dictate the actions of the supreme stable in the New Age Wrestling Alliance any longer.

Council of Five Member #1: You won't have to listen to a faceless council much longer, anyway Teddy Hart. The New Commissioner will be here next week and he is more than apt to keep you and your boys in line, along with several other top stables, including the Archangels of Anarchy and the Triumvirate. And the title defense will take place tonight, or else, your boys will be stripped of their tag team titles and you will be stripped of your Cruiserweight Title and being forced to find work in New York and fight Hardcore Holly on Velocity, because you will no longer have a job.

Teddy Hart: Fine, threaten me and force my hand. It would be a shame if a wicked fate befell your World Champion tonight due to the most elite stable in this company. Not to mention another one of your most popular stars. If they both got injured in one fell swoop tonight, because you decided to play your games with me.

The Hart Foundation, the Next Generation storms out as we fade to the usual opening.

"Heartbreaker" by Led Zepplin plays and a graphic comes up on your TV screen which states: "GOLD RUSH: QUALIFYING MATCH". This match, as stated, is a qualifying match for the Gold Rush Tournament. CM Punk vs Raven, in a return match for Wildfire has been set for the first Quarterfinal Match in the Gold Rush Tournament. Next week, another match will be set for the Tournament.

We fade out to some kind of governmental research lab. The date of the bottom screen reads: April 29th 2044. A government official appears on screen.

Government Official: Entry #666. President Levesque has requested this new super solider, one to programmed with the best wrestlers on the planet today. He feels that this super solider, with great wrestling abilities will be the ultimate combat in the war against the secret rebellion organization, who have dubbed themselves S.M.A.R.K. Code named: Hi Tech, this warrior will flush out this cynical group. No modem will be overturned, as this man will be the supreme warrior.

A statis tube is shown, with a figure that appears to be MWCW wrestler Hi Tech inside in suspended animation, but it can't be as this is thirty years in the future(to the date). Several viles, that must be strands of DNA marked into this Super Solider are marked, "HOGAN", "B. GUNN", "HHH", "D. WARRIOR", "S. GRENIER", "B. GOLDBERG", "J. LAYFIELD" "D. FLAIR", and "E. WATTS". The government agent has a vile in his hand marked "OVW" on it.

Government Agent: This DNA sample, from a generic wrestler, with a basic knowledge of wrestling should be enough to give Hi Tech the basic knowledge of wrestling and to bring him to life. He will be the prototype and soon, the evil organization of S.M.A.R.K will be nothing but a memory.

The government agent presses a few buttons, placing the DNA sample into the shell. Light show and Hi Tech is alive but something goes badly and the computer equipment is malfunctioning.

Government Agent: Something is wrong, the computer equipment is not stable enough to bring life, have we attempted too much too soon?

The stasis tube breaks and Hi Tech leaps out. The government agent trys to subdue him but Hi Tech picks him up and drives him down with a spinebuster. Hi Tech looks around, and a strange light is shown on the ceiling of the government lab. It appears to be some kind of vortex. Hi Tech leaps up, into the vortex. The government agent is just getting up.

Government Agent: No, no, this cannot be happening. Hi Tech has just jumped into a rip in the fabric of time and space. On the other side of the warp is...medival England. History could be altered, this cannot be happening.

With that unique vignette, we fade out.

The crowd cheers, as these men have been getting the fans behind them after breaking off with Jeff Jarrett, alias the Chosen One a few months ago. In fact, this match has a bit of an interesting tale, as Jeff Jarrett's old running buddies in Stasiak and Sanders(along with the Gambler, who wasn't really associated with Jarrett) are facing off against the Chosen One's new running buddies in the Archangels.

The Archangels have picked up the win. Let's go to the backstage area where Dan Marion is standing by with Miles Stylish and Jerry Lynn of the Triumvirate.

Backstage:

Dan Marion: I am standing by with Miles Stylish and Jerry Lynn. Gentlemen, tonight you face the former NAWA Tag Team Champions, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, the Outsiders, in tag team action. Now, I must ask you, what are your thoughts about this not being a tag team title match due to Nash and Hall losing the belts last Sunday at Wildfire?

Stylish: The only reason we aren't getting a tag team title shot is that the Council of Five is mucking things up, as per usual. They seem to want to hold down the greatness of the Triumvirate. It was supposed to be the Triumvirate vs the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation for the NAWA Tag Team Titles tonight but once again, the Council of Five gave an obviously inferior team, who we beat last week on this program I might add, in Mamaluke and Waterman our tag team title shot. Now we are stuck against a tag team that is washed up and their best days are behind them but after we beat them, the Council will have no choice but to grant us our rightful tag team title shot. Myself and Jerry Lynn will prove why we are the most elite tag team in the company.

Lynn: I agree with Miles here. We were railroaded big time but once again, we are going to prove why no one can stand in our way. The Triumvirate will, at the end of the day, hold every belt in this company. We will be the supreme stable in wrestling. Tonight, the Outsiders will be the latest to fall to us.

Marion: Interesting gentlemen, now allow me to ask you about the Gold Rush Tournament, which both of you fine gentlemen will be a part of. Any predictions on the outcome of the Gold Rush Tournament?

Jerry Lynn: I predict that the Triumvirate will come out on the better end of the Gold Rush Tournament, winning the tournament and then winning that NAWA World Title at Night of the Rogues.

Stylish: Same thing on my end. No matter whom it is, the Triumvirate will get the spoils and add another belt to our collection. Now if you excuse us, this interview is finished.

Stylish and Lynn walk off as we fade to a

"Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees plays and out comes Tony Mamaluke. Mamaluke still has that cast on his arm. He is smart enough to stay on the ramp, as all four members of the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation are in the ring and he does not want a four on one situation with one good arm.

"The Unforgiven" by Metallica plays and the champ is here! Ron Waterman makes his way out to the ring, with the NAWA World Title around his waist. He doesn't even acknowledge Mamaluke, as there is plenty of bad blood between them, yet the Council of Five keeps forcing them to team up, to attempt to iron out their differences. The unthinkable could happen tonight, if they win the titles and we have Tag Team Champions who can't get along. We must remind you that next week, we will have a new Commissioner debut, who is more than able to deal with several stables attempting to manipulate the odds for their own gain like the Triumvirate, the Archangels of Anarchy, and the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation. The bell rings and this NAWA Tag Team Title Match is underway.

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match
Ron Waterman and Tony Mamaluke vs Petey Williams and Johnny Devine(c)(w/Jack Evans and Teddy Hart)

Petey Williams starts out with Tony Mamaluke. Lock up and Petey has a headlock before Mamaluke shoves him off and European Uppercut to the chest. Another pair of European Uppercuts and irish whip into the ropes. Leaping leg lariat to the chest. Mamaluke lifts up Petey and elbow rammed across the back of the head. Mamaluke knees Petey and backs off, before delivering a Rocker Dropper. Roll over and cover but only a two count. Mamaluke fires some stomps before tagging in Waterman, without making eye contact. Waterman steps into the ring and batters Petey with some punches before whipping him into the corner. Waterman charges in and corner clothesline. Waterman hooks Petey Williams and hoists him up before bringing him down with a vertical suplex. A pair of elbowdrops before Waterman covers Petey hooking the leg but only a two count is scored off of this.

Waterman lifts up Petey Williams and whips him into the ropes but blind tag to Devine. Waterman kicks Petey and sets him up for a power bomb but Devine comes off the ropes with a clothesline. Waterman is stunned and Devine drops a knee across the chest before picking up Waterman and forearm across the back of the head. Devine grabs Waterman and DDT brings him down. Devine steps to the outside before springboarding in and coming across the chest of Waterman with a legdrop. Devine goes over and makes the tag to Petey Williams. Devine and Petey both climb to the second rope and combination flying elbowdrop/flying legdrop stun Waterman. Petey Williams makes the cover hooking the leg but the champion of the world manages to power out at two.

Petey Williams picks up Waterman and punch to the midsection. Petey Williams grabs Waterman from behind and takes him down with a Russian Legsweep. Back off and senton backsplash stuns Waterman. Petey backs off, distracting the referee, which allows Teddy Hart to remove his tie and choke Waterman with it. The referee had better turn around, as Teddy Hart is attempting to strangle Waterman with his tie. Mamaluke is into the ring but the referee holds him back, which allows for some triple team action between Petey Williams in the ring and Teddy Hart and Jack Evans on the floor. Waterman is dazed and Petey Willimas hooks Waterman in a double underhook before taking him down with a double underhook. Petey Williams rolls over Waterman but only scores a two and a half count when Waterman kicks out.

Petey Williams lifts up Waterman in a facelock before kneeing him in the midsection and making the tag to Johnny Devine. Devine leaps into the ring and double axe handle to the back. Knee to the face and Devine has Waterman set up in a cradle. Fisherman Suplex and bridge brings Waterman down. Cover but Mamaluke breaks up the pin at two and a half just as Waterman kicks out. This unnessary interference causes the referee to be distracted and the Hart Foundation, the Next Generation, in the form of Devine, Evans, and Petey Williams to batter Waterman in the corner. Devine climbs behind Waterman and hooks him in an inverted facelock before flipping over and SENDING THE CHAMPION CRASHING DOWN WITH THE DIAMOND DUST! Cover hooking the leg after rolling over Waterman but Waterman manages to bring the shoulder up at two and three fourths.

Devine steps to the outside and waits for Waterman to get up. Devine leaps off with a cross body but Waterman catches him and TOSSES HIM TO THE CANVAS WITH A VICIOUS FALLAWAY SLAM! Waterman, however, tosses Devine near the corner and he is closer to making the tag then Waterman is. Mamaluke has his hand half heartedly stretched out but Devine is nearly there and tag to Petey Williams. Petey grabs the ankle of Waterman but Waterman kicks off and TAG TO TONY MAMALUKE. Mamaluke leaps into the ring and runs down Petey Williams with a clothesline. Mamaluke waits for Petey and he kicks away at him before whipping him into the corner. Mamaluke rushes in and running knee to the chest. Chops and Mamaluke climbs behind Petey Williams before hooking him. INVERTED SWINGING DDT BRINGS PETEY DOWN ONTO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD! Cover hooking the leg but Devine breaks the cover up.

Devine is being ushered back to the corner but this works in the advantage of the HFNG because of the numbers game. Jack Evans is on the top rope but Mamaluke runs up and SUPER DDT BRINGING JACK EVANS DOWN ONTO HIS HEAD. Petey Williams has the tag team title belt but as Waterman attempts to interfere, TEDDY HART DECKS WATERMAN FROM BEHIND WITH THE NAWA CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE BELT! Waterman falls off the ring apron, stunned from the shot and Teddy Hart has a pair of handcuffs. Teddy Hart is handcuffing Waterman to the bottom rop!. Mamaluke manages to knee Petey in the midsection and cause him to drop the belt but Teddy Hart is in the ring apron and Mamaluke decides to knock him off with a back elbow which causes Petey to ram the belt into the midsection of Mamaluke. Set up and CANADIAN DESTROYER ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP BELT. Mamaluke is busted open and Petey covers hooking the leg, to retain the titles with the pin.

Petey Williams and Johnny Devine defeated Tony Mamaluke and Ron Waterman when P. Williams pinned Mamaluke with the Canadian Destroyer in 0:10:54.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Petey Williams and Johnny Devine retained the NAWA Tag Team Titles.)

Mamaluke is hurt and Waterman is handcuffed! Teddy Hart calls for a chair and Devine hands him one. Teddy raises the chair and SMASHES IT INTO THE HEAD OF WATERMAN. Waterman is helpless, half in the ring and handcuffed to that bottom rope. Devine, Williams, and Evans batter Waterman with punches and kicks and Teddy sets up the chair and sits in it, with a microphone in hand, watching the carnage. Petey Williams smashes the tag team title belt over the head of Waterman as Teddy Hart watches on, looking pleased at the beating that Waterman has been given. Teddy eventually calls off his troops and raises the microphone. Waterman is lying, half dead, with blood dripping down his forehead.

Teddy Hart: I always keep my promises. I warned the Council of Five, that a wicked fate would befall their champion and look at the so called, powerful NAWA World Champion. Helpless due to the most elite force in wrestling. Bloodied, battereed, and beaten. I made a statement and it happened. But Ron Waterman, there is more to this that meets the eye. I have had my eyes on the NAWA World Title Belt for a couple of months but I have waited in the wings for the right moment to strike and strike I did, with a vengeance but you must be asking why should you give me of all people a title shot. Well, let's roll that footage from last month shall we.

We see some footage on the NAWA vision, of Ron Waterman in the parking lot and getting ran over by a car. Teddy Hart calls for the footage to stop at a certain point and we see a brief camera frame that shows that Teddy Hart was the driver of the car that ran over Ron Waterman. THAT BASTARD RAN OVER OUR CHAMPION!

Teddy Hart: See that, Waterman. I have stopped you, the oh so all powerful and undefeated champion twice in your tracks now. It was I who ran you over last month and now, I am demanding that I receive a shot, at my divine right, the NAWA World Title. I will restore glory to the hart family, after certain members disgraced it for the last several years. That belt will be mine. I can take you out with a snap of my fingers and give me a title shot and I will prove not only am I the Cruiserweight wrestling prodigy, but that I can hang with the big guns as well. I will be awaiting your answer. Seven days Waterman, you have until next week, before I force the issue and deal you a career ending injury should you not accept my challenge. That is the price you will pay if you don't accept my challenge.

Teddy Hart gets up and smashes the microphone into the face of Waterman as the crowd tosses garbage in the ring. It was Teddy Hart who drove the car that ran over Ron Waterman. We are out of time, see you next week.

Next Week: The New Commissioner arrives.

And now for a new column, detailing the backstage happenings in the NAWA. This is a test run for this column, so let me know what you think it's good, okay, too negative, or I have finally lost my mind. Spoilers ahead, so be where. Also the website is partially updated, for those who want to venture there.

The Marion Meltdown-All the news you need for the NAWA, by NAWA backstage investigative reporter Dan Marion

DISCLAIMOR: The opinions expressed in this column of strictly Dan Marion's and do not reflect the views of the New Age Wrestling Alliance.

Greetings mutants. I am Dan Marion and I am here for all your cultural insight to the seedy backstage underworld of the New Age Wrestling Alliance. You may wonder why I decided to demean myself to writing a column for you puke faced twits. Let me tell you, that I am doing you a public service, by reporting the facts to you. I am sure that you are tired of all these pimple faced twits writing wrestling columns, bitching about how matches didn't have enough spots and stuff and whining about how a match wasn't a four star match. So I have decided to step in and educate you fans on the true backstage goings on in the New Age Wrestling Alliance.

First up, what's to say about Gold Rush. It's coming up in four weeks and the tournament is going to be big, perhaps the most star studded in the entire two year history of the NAWA. Everyone is gunning for a shot at the NAWA World Title, to be awarded on June 20th at Night of the Rogues. We have six more matches to go in the qualifying round and then we move onto Gold Rush for the elite eight.

Gold Rush also has some other things planned. I can exclusively reveal that the Dark Warrior and Kevin Nash will go head to head at Gold Rush. I can almost here the weaping from the Smart Marks right now, but this match has got to be a dream match for many wrestling fans throughout the years. It will be the Destrucity Death Drop against the Jackknife Power Bomb. The Lariat of Death against the Big Foot. It shall be a fantastic brawl. I am so excited at these two muscle bound guys in leather wailing on each other that I am stiff with anticipation.

Teddy Hart is a wrestling genius. He has basically forced Ron Waterman's hand so Teddy Hart must be given his divine right with an NAWA World Title Shot. Whether Waterman has the guts enough to accept this challenge or not is up for debate. I am sure we will find out this Thursday on Glory(or you can just read the spoilers elsewhere, you cheating pillock).

The Triumvirate, perhaps the most genius force in wrestling. Miles Stylish has the International Title, Jerry Lynn has the Television Title, and the Dark Warrior has the power of gospel. I don't think anyone can take down these three men, as was proved when they defeated the alledged greatest tag team in wrestling history, Hall and Nash, last week on Glory. You have got to hand it to Miles Stylish, he is the greatest wrestler in the world and he didn't need a gold medal to artifically tack up a couple of stars to every match he competes in to gain that honor either. Jerry Lynn is pretty good as well, perhaps in the top ten and the Dark Warrior...well he has an extensive vocabulary. These three should rule the company for quite sometime.

Harry Harris, the rehab may be going great, but I suggest you just retire, take every what money you inherieted from your mafia influenced family, and stay away from Miles Stylish. Trust me, no matter if your knee is made of titanium, Stylish will find a way to put you out, this time for good. Just a little bit of advice from your old pal, Dan Marion.

The Archangels of Anarchy are a unique bunch but Armageddon and Destruction gell pretty damn well as a tag team and Sacrifice is just plain scary. Then we have Christopher Daniels, the only man to capture four different titles in this company(althrough the big gold belt still has not been worn by the Fallen Angel) and the Chosen One, who's new attitude has breathed new life into a character that has been stale since about 1999 when he held the WWF Interconinental Title roughly seven hundred time.

The Backyard Dudes and the French Revolution will have the latest chapter in their epic feud. I here that this is going to blow you away, well, at least the part about "blowing". It will be some kind of gimmick match. I honestly don't know what these two er fine tag teams are going to do when this feud is settled. Maybe feed them to Sacrifice, he needs a steady diet of squash, if you know what I'm saying. This latest chapter in the series may be more brutal than an episode...I won't say it, it's too easy(*COUGH*SMACKDOWN*COUGH*). Sorry, had something in my throat. After all, would a fine upstanding citizen such as Dan Marion lie to you.

The tag team division is hotter then ever before. Look for a couple of new tag teams to join forces before the end is all said and done. Petey Williams and Johnny Devine have their work cut out for them.

The cruiserweight division may be getting a new addition that is, dare I say it, better than sliced bread. Already I have given away too much.

Need I remind you that WrestleClash III is only three months away. The biggest event of the year, will have blow offs to long running NAWA feuds. One of those long running feuds will not be a walk in paradise, it will be a walk through hell. Let's see what happens when an angel and a bird collide in the most dangerous match in wrestling, to perhaps settle the score once and for all.

Glory will be taped and in shades of grey this Thursday. I believe that there will be several great matches, with the Gold Rush Tournament qualifiers being a part of them. Also, the new commissioner debuts. I know who this man is, but I have a gag order by the suits in the back, who are staring over my shoulder and making sure I don't attract too many lawsuits as I type this. Let's just say that this man has been with us before and is more than up to taking the ruffians to task. Let's just hope he is fair and gives me a pay raise.

That would be all for this week. So until next time, send your questions, comments, death threats, secret plots to rule the world, and recipes to marionnawa@yahoo.com and I might answer them if I'm feeling nice or I might not. Who knows, your letter could get ridiculed in this very column.

I like Teddy Hart ALOT in your circuit. He seems to be the only real competition for Waterman, even if its only because he'll have help. I also like the new column. The Marion Meltdown is entertaining for a product with no wrestling action. It could just as easily be a segment in a TV broadcast which makes it cool. Gold Rush should be good.
