The Williams Bros. (Doug Williams and Petey Williams) and Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) and Nigel McGuinness when P. Williams pinned C. Stevens after the Spin Doctor in 0:15:26.
Rating: ***
[Tina Ambrose-McGuinness interfered against Yoshihiro Tajiri.]

Petey Williams gains a slight amount of redemption by picking up a victory here over Chase Stevens. I'm sure the Williams Bros. would trade that for the semifinal spot, however.

John Cena and Blaster Lashley defeated Ric Flair and Batista when B. Lashley pinned Batista after a double underhook suplex in 0:18:32.
Rating: ** 1/4

Edge and Christian came out to sign some autographs between matches when they were jumped by John Cena and Blaster Lashley. Lashley and Cena felt that they were being upstaged after their victory. This fight turned into an impromptu match which became a victory for E&C.

Edge and Christian defeated John Cena and Blaster Lashley when Edge pinned J. Cena with the Spear in 0:12:29.
Rating: *** 1/2

[Alpha Gold Crowns Tournament - Quarterfinals]:
SBS (Super Dragon and Excalibur) defeated The Thrillseekers (Matt Cappotelli and Johnny Jeter) when Excalibur pinned J. Jeter with the Tiger Driver '98 in 0:00:36.
Rating: *

The SoCal team of Super Dragon and Excalibur make an excellent showing by absolutely destroying the Thrillseekers in 36 seconds. This was the equivlant of a one punch knockout in boxing.

The Sadai Shoguns had better watch out in the semi finals. They now know that SBS is capable of ending a match at any time.

[Alpha Gold Crown Tournament - 1st Round]:
Mike Quackenbush pinned Austin Aries with the Quackendriver in 0:15:36.
Rating: **** 1/4

In an excellent technical affair, Mike Quackenbush and Austin Aries put on one for the ages. Quackenbush was the better man today, and he moves on to face JBL in the semifinals.

[Alpha Gold Crown Tournament - 1st Round]:
AJ Styles pinned Eddie Guerrero with the Styles Clash in 0:14:12.
Rating: *** 3/4

AJ Styles shows why he believes he is the cornerstone of Pro Wrestling: Alpha with a solid win over Eddie Guerrero. This was the final 1st round matchup and sets up a showdown between Styles and Kurt Angle in the quarters.

Christopher Daniels, John Bradshaw Layfield and Claudio Castagnoli defeated Samoa Joe, Paul London and Shelton Benjamin when JBL pinned S. Benjamin with the Clothesline From Hell in 0:18:21.
Rating: ** 1/4

JBL continues his impressive showing in Pro Wrestling: Alpha by picking up the fall in this 6-man tag. JBL has his sights set on Mike Quackenbush in the quarterfinals.

Card rating: ***

The four quarterfinal matches look as follows:
JBL vs. Mike Quackenbush
Christopher Daniels vs. Randy Orton
Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles
American Dragon vs. Kenta Kobashi

Yeah, now that Eddie is gone, it would have been cool for him to win the tourny. Ah well, there's always the Alpha Grand Alternative.
