NAWA Wildfire 2004 Preview(Predictions Welcomed)

MattHarmsPosted on 11/11/05 at 23:41:10

Past Wildfire events:

2003: http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling3/mcw4/nawa/nawawildfire2003.html

NAWA World Title Matches:
Tony Mamaluke vs Ron Waterman(c)
And then the winner defends against Miles Stylish:

The NAWA World Title Belt will be defended not once, but twice on Pay Per View. The reason for this is last month, Mamaluke and Stylish went to a no decision in a number one contenders match and as a result, both men are the number one contender so they will be receiving a title shot in the same night. Waterman has scored victories over both these men in past singles encounters but what makes this match intriguing is the mind games that Miles Stylish has been playing. Stylish has hinted that Ron Waterman has sold out the NAWA World Title to him and after disposing of Mamaluke, Waterman will hand over the belt to him. Also, Stylish has been bringing up the incident where Waterman got ran over by a car and has hinted that Mamaluke was indeed the one responsible. Under all the mind games, is there some truth to either of the statements that Stylish has been spouting off? Nevertheless, it will be for the grandest prize of them all. The NAWA World Title and it will be twice the title defense, this Sunday.

Prediction for Title Match #1:
Prediction for Title Match #2:

NAWA Xtreme Title Barbed Wire Ladder Match:
CM Punk vs Raven(c)

CM Punk says he is on a mission to purge the NAWA of all the wrestlers that he feels gives the sport of wrestling a bad name. The first man on this list, is the NAWA Xtreme Champion Raven. At Reality Check, Punk assaulted Raven after his Xtreme Title victory over the Dark Warrior and has since declared that he was a better wrestler than Raven and can beat him in any type of match, at any time, even being able to beat Raven at his own game. With Punk assaulting Raven with some barbed wire and a ladder, the faceless Council of Five got a brainstorm. It would be Raven defending his Xtreme Title against Punk in a Barbed Wire Ladder Match. Punk was not too happy but promised to beat Raven, despite the "barbaric stipulations". Making good on his claims that he could beat Raven at any time, Punk scored a pinfall victory over Raven this past week at Glory. Now, two of the most brutal matches in wrestling will be combined into one match. The Xtreme Title Belt will be hanging above the ring and the ropes will be replaced by razor sharp barbed wire. Punk/Raven for the Xtreme Title, Wildfire!

Prediction:

NAWA Television Title Match:
Christopher Daniels vs Jerry Lynn(c)

Nearly one year ago, these two men had a classic MOTY Canidate at Gold Rush 2003, where Daniels walked out with both the Television and International Titles, defeating Jerry Lynn. Once again, they will be competing on NAWA Pay Per View. Last month at Reality Check, Jerry Lynn won Christopher Daniels' Television Title but there was one problem. Daniels was pinned in the encounter which lead to a number one contenders match between the two men who did not get pinned, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. Daniels scored the pin and now will be moving on in an attempt to be winning that Television Title for the third time against Jerry Lynn this Sunday. Daniels is also offended by the comments made by both Miles Stylish and Jerry Lynn that the Triumvirate is the top gun stable in the NAWA, as Daniels feels that his own Archangels of Anarchy should hold that honor. So not only is the Television Title belt at stake, but bragging rights as well, at Wildfire.

Prediction:

The Chosen One vs Norman Smiley:

The Chosen One is Jeff Jarrett, under some kind of new gimmick, alledgely "possessed" by some kind of "evil spirit". With that little bit of Wrestlecrap out of the way, Jeff Jarrett and Norman Smiley were friends at one time but Jarrett started getting jealous at the cheers that Norman received and turned on him after some time. These two men competed at StarClash with Norman picking up the victory at that time and Jarrett descending into madness, before joining the Archangels of Anarchy under his new Chosen One persona and it has worked a bit, as Jarrett has been more agressive and scored a win over Scott Hall recently, to prove that this gimmick may work after all but he still has some unfinished business with Norman Smiley. The Chosen One has attacked Norman twice but Norman has vowed revenge on his former friend and that leads to this Sunday at Wildfire.

Prediction:

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match:
Johnny Devine and Petey Williams vs the Outsiders(c)

Last month at Reality Check, Petey and Devine defeated Simon and Swinger to win a title shot tonight and they have been interfering him matches involving Scott Hall(Kevin Nash, of course, in this day in age, doesn't wrestle anything vaguely resembling a full schedule, so no Kevin Nash matches can be ruined) and Petey scored a pinfall victory over Hall. This Sunday, the Hart Foundation the Next Generation attempt to capture the tag team titles. The HFNG have failed to capture the belts before, with the tandem of Jack Evans and Petey Williams but we will see if Devine and Williams are any better at winning the belts.

Prediction:

Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger vs Rapmaster Killings and a Mystery Partner:

Back in the day, Killings, Simon, and Swinger were the best of friends, in Young Guns Incorporated. Killings went from K-Kwik to the dynamic Rapmaster, which eventually lauched his career into the upper level. Meanwhile, Simon suffered a serious injury, putting him on the shelf for many months, while Swinger floundered at the bottom of the card. Simon returned and Swinger and Simon are now looking for their rightful credit, as they say they are the reason, the Rapmaster is a star. Rapmaster disagrees, as he says it was the fans that made him what he is today. So this leads to a tag team match. Killings and a mystery partner against Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger. If Killings and his partner wins, Simon and Swinger never can bother Killings again about his gimmick. But if Swinger and Simon win, Killings has to drop the Rapmaster name and can never rap again in the New Age Wrestling Alliance. A high stakes match at Wildfire.

Prediction for Match Winners:
Prediction for the partner of Killings:

NAWA Cruiserweight Title Match:
Jack Evans vs Teddy Hart(c)

For a few weeks, Teddy Hart, who did not have any challengers step up for a shot at the NAWA Cruiserweight Title, had the Teddy Hart invitational. If they could beat Teddy in a non title match, they would receive a title shot. After a couple of weeks of this, no one could beat Teddy and no one wanted to answer the invitational one week so Jack Evans, Teddy's fellow HFNG member, decided to step up to the plate and compete in the THI. As it turns out, Evans won and will now receive a shot at the Cruiserweight Title this Sunday. The irony would be great of Teddy Hart lost that Cruiserweight Title to one of the men who has helped him retain the title ever so often but we will have to wait until this Sunday to find out.

Prediction:

Destruction and Armageddon vs Lenny Lane and Juventud Guerrera(w/Joel Gertner):

This match was set up due to the fact to Lenny Lane and Juventud Guerrera scored a victory in a six man tag team match and now Armageddon and Destruction want pay back. Juvi and Lenny are trying to put together a winning streak, to earn a Tag Team Title Shot but they will have to get past the Archangels of Anarchy, who also would love nothing better than to receive a tag team title shot. The winner of this match should shoot up the tag team rankings.

Prediction:

Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley(w/Vince Russo) vs Alex Shelley and Elix Skipper:

Shelley and Sabin are tied in one on one Pay Per View bouts. Sabin beat Shelley at Blinded by Fury, while Shelley beat Sabin at Reality Check. Matt Bentley, the former Michael Shane, called upon Vince Russo to be his new manager and Chris Sabin to be his new partner, after Sean Waltman bailed out of the NAWA, after Bentley and Waltman lost the tag team titles back at Reality Check. Elix Skipper saved Shelley from a recent attack from Bentley and Sabin. To put in all in perspective, this could very well be the sleeper match of the evening, as four hungry young wrestlers of the NAWA pair off in tag team match.

Prediction:

Super Duper Grudge Match of the never ending feud from the fiery pits of hell, I swear to god, I will be an old senile man and still be writing matches involved this feud that will never die match to prolong this stupid feud that will never die and this match heading is starting to sound like a Dark Warrior promo, let the Destrucity be with you:
The French Revolution(Jacques Strap and Lord Napoleon) vs The Backyard Dudes(Twizted Youth and F.R.E.D).

This feud has been going on for many months. Many, many months. Since September. I don't even remember what this feud is over. It involved the Ding Dongs, salsa, backyard wrestling matches, dog poop, and a weedwhacker. High class stuff right here folks. Ricky Ricardo is still in a coma but he may return soon. Maybe tonight or will he? Perhaps I am just trying to swerve you. Or am I? Perhaps this feud will end or will it? Just flip a coin and predict this match already.

Prediction:
Snabbit888Posted on 11/11/05 at 23:56:30

Waterman wins match #1, and subsequently beats Stylish to retain

Raven beats Punk

Lynn retains I hope, as that TV Title has been hotshotted all over the place.

Though the gimmick is a little goofy, calling the Chosen One gimmick "WrestleCrap" right away makes me not give a flying fuck about him or anything he'll do in this gimmick. You write well, but one of your biggest weaknesses (and remember, this is only my opinion) is that you go too much for that "insider/People's Literary Critic" bashing of your own product, and when you do that, it takes all credability out of what you write. It's one thing to say something like, "Jarrett is losing his mind and getting a little ridiculous" than saying, "Well, boy, isn't this a stupid gimmick? Who would watch this?" Anyway... rant off. Chosen One wins.

Outsiders retain the belts

Killings partner will be... I'll be cliche's and say BG James, but Diamond/Swinger win.

Hart retains against Evans and turns on him post-match for undermining him.

Armageddon/Destruction over Lane/Juvi (though Lane and Juvi are fucking entertaining as hell)

Sabin/Bentley win

And who cares about the jobber match? Not me, but boy is it going to suck that it's going to lead off the PPV. :)

NAWA World Title Matches:
Tony Mamaluke vs Ron Waterman(c)
And then the winner defends against Miles Stylish:

Waterman wins both matches - I'm tempted to go for Stylish, but unless you run an angle off it, it would seem cheap of Stylish to win the title having had an obvious advantage.

NAWA Xtreme Title Barbed Wire Ladder Match:
CM Punk vs Raven(c)

Punk just got the duke, so Raven returns the compliment, especially seeing as Punk has seemingly dominated the feud already.

NAWA Television Title Match:
Christopher Daniels vs Jerry Lynn(c)

And perhaps for the sake of a token title change, Daniels gets the win.

The Chosen One vs Norman Smiley:

With the character direction of Jarrett, he wins.

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match:
Johnny Devine and Petey Williams vs the Outsiders(c)

Outsiders retain.

Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger vs Rapmaster Killings and a Mystery Partner:

I'm going Diamond and Swinger too. Though mystery people usually win in these situations, the build up sounds good for Swinger.

NAWA Cruiserweight Title Match:
Jack Evans vs Teddy Hart(c)

Hart retains this one since he's already lost the first one.

Destruction and Armageddon vs Lenny Lane and Juventud Guerrera(w/Joel Gertner):

Destruction/Armageddon here.

Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley(w/Vince Russo) vs Alex Shelley and Elix Skipper:

Sabin and Bentley sound more likely to be a long term team, and if I'm right it makes sense for them to win.

The French Revolution(Jacques Strap and Lord Napoleon) vs The Backyard Dudes(Twizted Youth and F.R.E.D).

And if your description of this is anything to go by, this'll be a draw.
