Elix Skipper vs Jerry Lynn

Rematch from Bound for Glory, as veteran Jerry Lynn takes on Elix Skipper.
Skipper was out for revenge tonight, as he took down Lynn with a scintillating
dropkick and an elbowdrop for a two-count. Skipper continued to punish Lynn
with a flying clothesline, but missed a thrust kick and was met with a right
punch by Lynn. Skipper is brought down with a northern lights suplex, but referee
Earl Hebner's (slow) count only yields a two. Skipper low blows Lynn and sends
him into the turnbuckle with a monkey flip. Prime Time positiones Jerry on
the top turnbuckle and executes a double underhook superplex for the win in
this exciting opening contest here at the Impact Zone!

Back from the commercial, and the Naturals are in Larry Zbyszko's office. They say it's totally unfair that they can't get a rematch for the titles, and that they can't get their hands on Jimmy Hart for betraying them. Zbyszko says he can't help them with the titles, but he is giving them a non-title match at Spike TV's Prime Time special, as a possible way of getting to Jimmy Hart. the Naturals grudgingly agrees that it's better than nothing.

Apolo vs Kip James

The crowd just doesn't know how to react to Kip James anymore. His action as of
late towards the 3 Live Kru is puzzling, but he still had most of the crowd on
his side as he faced perennial crowd hate object Apollo.

James openes up with a cobra crutch slam for a two-count, and follows up with
a bodyslam. Apolo attemps a comeback with a DDT and several punches on James
as Monty Brown! makes his way down to the ring, distracting James and letting
Apollo connect with a full nelson slam. The Puerto Rican keeps up the momentum
with a Sky High and a diving shoulderblock, but is unable to put James away.
Apolo goes for a double-arm chokeslam, but James kicks him in the gut and drops
him with a neckbreaker. Kip hits the Jumping Legdrop and covers, but Monty
Brown enters the ring and breaks the pin, forcing ref Johnson to call for the
bell. As Monty stomps away on Kip, BG James makes his way down the ramp, but
is stopped by Konnan. BG pushes Konnan away, causing Konnan to fall of the
ramp and hurt his foot. BG slides into the ring and starts laying lefts and rights
on Monty, forcing him out of the ring. BG and Kip shakes hands in the ring
as Ron Killings helps Konnan back on his feet and leaves with a disgusted
look on their faces. Have BG finally made his choice about Kip?

Kip James defeated Apolo by disqualification in 0:08:23.

Konnan and Killings are yelling at BG, who is trying to explain himself.

"Look, Kip hasn't really done anything to harm us. He just wants to be friends. Can't I have more than you two as my friends? Are we back in kindergarten or what?"

"Yo, I'm tellin' you bro, you can't trust him, and you know it." Konnan is as bombastic as usual. Killings back him up.

"Hey, do what you want, but to me, there's nothing more important than the Kru, and I think I've proved myself more than enough. Next week, I'm facing Monty Brown, and I'd appreciate some support."
-------------

Somewhere else, Matt Bentley is walking the halls, when somebody stops him. It's the American Dragon, Bryan Danielson! "Matt, I need to talk to you."

"Bryan, what the hell are you doing here? TNA didn't hire you, did they?"

"I'm fine as the RoH World Champion, thank you. Take a look at this," he says, and shows Bentley printouts from a couple of Indy shows, including a recent RoH one.

"What exactly am I looking for? Ikaika Loa beat down at WxW show.. Don Juan and Chris Marvel seriously injured at local NWA show.. someone struck down Fast Eddie of the Embassy with a kendo stick.. why am I reading this?"

"Does the names sound familiar to you? Or what about.. 1998 Christmas party?"

Bentley looks up at Danielson, a serious look on his face.

"You're not serious, are you? That's seven years ago. It may all be a coincident."

"Yeah? Well, just before I left my locker room at the last RoH show, I found this in my bag."

Danielson shows Bentley a note, and Bentley's grave expression worsens. "Have you spoken to Jamie or Paul?"

"Yeah, they haven't received anything, but security is very strict up north. You realize how many more there are on that... 'list'?"

"If you're referring to what happened.." Bentley looks like he isn't comfortable with the conversation.

"What else can it be?"

"If what you say has any bearing at all... you know as well as I that there are three more names..."

"And you and me are two of them."

After this strange segment, we go to the ring where no-show specialist Sean Waltman awaits his opponent.

Bobby Roode vs Sean Waltman

Roode came down to new music and a crowd that liked him, quite different from
what the Canadian is used to. His opponent tonight, Sean Waltman, attacked him
from behind, and clubbed him to the ground. Roode responds with forearms of
his own, and a powerslam for a 2-count. Waltman is desperate to climb the
TNA rankings again, as he spins around and clocks Roode with a spin kick.
Waltman bounces off the ropes and misses a clothesline. Roode charges in
with the Northern Lariat and covers for the 3 count. Roode doesn't have time
to celebrate much, as team Canada charges the ring and attacks Roode. Young
and A1 hold Roode back while Petey Williams jabs the hockey stick repeatedly
in Roode's stomach. Coach D'Amore grabs a mic.

"You see Bobby Roode.. there is no "I" in Team Canada, you do what you're told,
and nobody told YOU to break out as a singles star, stealing the thunder from
the Team, and from Petey Williams!" They spit on him in turn as they leave him
in the ring.

When we come back, Tenay and Douglas plugs Spike TV's Prime Time special that airs next thursday at 9 pm. On that show, Chris Irvine will make his debut against Eric Young, AMW will square off against the Naturals in a non-title fight, the Fallen Angel, Matt Bentley and Petey Williams are in six-man tag action with Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Sabu, Monty Brown vs. Ron Killings, Samoa Joe and Rhino do battle in a Bound for Glory rebound, and in the main event, AJ Styles defends his X-Division title against Jeff Hardy!

Traci talks with Bobby Roode backstage, who says that at Genesis, he will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he did the right thing in breaking loose from Team Canada, and that he was the dominant wrestler in that team, as he challenges Petey Williams to a match.

Shark Boy vs Cassidy Riley

Cassidy Riley came down to the ring to James Garfield's "Son of a Preacher
Son". The crowd booed him for his actions against Raven at Bound for Glory,
but Riley seemed to revel in the boos. Crowd favorite Shark Boy took Riley
down with a superplex while Riley was gloating on the turnbuckle, but the
traitor soon turned the momentum with a spinebuster, and followed up with a
senton for a two count. Riley put Shark Boy in a headlock, but Shark Boy bit
Riley, and sent him down with a faceslam. Shark Boy continued to bite Riley
on various body parts, including his ass and his arm. Riley sent Shark Boy
down with a jawbreaker and finished him off with a moonsault for a win in this
short but highly amusing and excellent match. Cassidy then asked for a mic,
and the crowd held their breath in anticipation for what Riley had to tell
Raven.

Cassidy Riley picks up a microphone and calls out Raven. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion comes down, climbs into the ring and stares a hole through the sole of his former protegé.

"I'm gonna give you one chance to explain yourself, Riley. After that.. I'm probably gonna kill you no matter how." Riley picks up the mic and looks solemnly at his former mentor.

"Raven, all my wrestling career, I've wanted to be just like you. Imagine my joy when I heard that TNA was moving to Orlando, and that they needed fresh talent. You see, I am your biggest fan, and what I did at Bound for Glory does not diminish that. You does not need a belt, you're frickin' Raven. But, I must admit I had selfish motives. As I told you, I want to be just like you with all of my heart. Raven, I want to BECOME you. When you one day decide to lace up your boots and retire from the Wrestling industry, I'm there to pick up where you left off. Raven, you didn't become the violent, extreme, couldn't care less, immoral, unscrupulous son of a bitch that you are by paying attention in class and developing scientific ways of wrestling. You became who you are as a result of all the beatings, the torture, the pain and the torment you've suffered through your entire career. From your first encounters with Jim Cornette's tennis racket, to your barbed wire matches in ECW to Raven's Clockwork House of Fun, you are the most extreme icon in our industry. So I sat down and thought to myself, how Cassidy, just.. how are you going to be like Raven? By attending extra wrestling classes? No. By watching tapes of your matches? Well.. yeah maybe that too.. but it isn't going to cut it. No, I sat down.. and I pondered.. and eventually it occured to me that to become like you, I had to suffer what you had suffered. And I knew of only one who could teach a pupil about pain firsthand. That person is YOU. And I couldn't just ask you.. please Raven.. please.. beat me up within an inch of my life.. make me bleed, bust me open.. put salt in my wounds and then tape it back together! No, I couldn't do that. That wouldn't work, cause all your suffering had been through hatred. Your opponents HATED you, so I had to make you hate me as well. And now you do. Now, I've ruined your chances at the one thing you love here in life, the NWA World Heavyweight belt. So there you have it. Now, bust me open, Johnny Polo!"

Riley puts down the microphone and slaps Raven before stepping back a few steps, awaiting the beating. The crowd is livid after this, and demand that Raven split Riley's skull open. Raven looks around at the crowd and then shakes his head.

"I don't know if I get this.. you did this because you LOVE me, because you want to BE like me, and because you want to BECOME me?" Riley nods. "And now you want me to teach you about pain and suffering firsthand, by beating you within an inch of your life? By beating you into a bloody pulp?" Riley nods again.

"Well, the way I see it, I can get revenge on you by one mean only.. and that is to leave this ring without even throwing a punch at you."

With that, Raven rolls out of the ring and walks back up the ramp while Riley screams out at him, begging him to come back and beat him up.

the Amazing Red vs "the Talented" Mr. Bentley

Matt Bentley was introduced tonight as "the Talented" Mr. Bentley, and came
out without Traci. We haven't seen Amazing Red in quite some time, and the
crowd enjoyed this match between the two X-Division wrestlers. Red rocked Bentley
with Sliced Bread and a koppo kick, but Bentley soon responded with two power
bombs, weakening Red's back. Bentley wins with the Superkick, but doesn't
stop there. He picks up Red and sends him down with a powerslam, then climbs
the ropes for the Picture Perfect Elbow drop. Chris Sabin runs out from the
back, pushing Bentley down. The two trade blows as Impact goes off the air,
signalling that their feud is not at an end.

Matt Bentley pinned Amazing Red after the Superkick in 0:08:52.

I like where the Riley/Raven angle is going. It looks to be the best story line you have at the moment. Riley/Raven could put on a decent match, but after a couple of altercations may be able to pull out 4 or 5 stars.

Dont quite know what to make of Bentley/Danielson situation. Could be interesting, I hope this means Danielson would make wrestling appearances in TNA.

Its strange to see an episode of TNA without Team Jarrett thoough.

Roode should go over Williams at the 2 hour special. Hopefully it will be a clean victory too, no DQ or what not from Team Canada.

I'm pretty excited about the Riley/Raven feud myself, as I think it's rather creative and not something that has been done before (correct me if I'm wrong). It's also a good chance for me to build up a star (Riley), not only use ex-WWE stars. No matter if Riley or Raven come out on top, Riley will profit from it (just look at CM Punk in the Punk/Raven feud and Jimmy Rave from the Rave/Punk feud).

The Danielson/Shane thingy can be incredibly cheesy if I don't do this right, and I don't think I came out too well with that segment. It reminds me a little of the I still remember storyline that was dumped from WWE in late 2003(?). We'll see how it goes, and hopefully we'll see Danielson in the ring, a worker I'm positively high on.

The problem with TNA at the moment is the fact that they only have 1 hour every week. That's why I need to advance some storylines on one show, and some on the next show. Hopefully, TNA will gain a second hour quite soon. I could of course decide that TNA receives a second hour in my world, but part of my challenge is that I'm only the booker of TNA, and that the business part of TNA runs like it does in real life. Planet Jarrett will definetely be back next Impact, and on the 2 hour special (which will run one week later than in real-life, because I didn't find out about it in time).
