NAWA Glory 4/1/04

MattHarmsPosted on 11/01/05 at 00:15:08

This is NAWA Glory on April 1st 2004. We are live and in living color from Dallas Texas where tonight, AJ Styles takes on Christopher Daniels for an NAWA Television Title Shot at Wildfire, Mike Sanders and Shawn Stasiak face Jerry Lynn and the Dark Warrior of the Triumivirate, Rapmaster Killings faces Simon Diamond, and more.

"Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top plays and the crowd explodes into boos as Miles Stylish comes to the ring, dressed in a three piece suit with the International Title draped over his shoulder and a smug look on his face. Stylish had a busy night last Sunday at Reality Check, defeating the Gambler to retain the International Title and then costing Tony Mamaluke the NAWA World Title against Ron Waterman. Stylish calls fo the microphone.

Stylish: Two weeks ago, I nearly pulled off the business transaction of the century. I was to meet with Ron Waterman over a very important piece of business. To put it in perspective, I was going to meet him over the status of the NAWA World Title. The beginning of this little plot happened shortly before Luck of the Draw. Waterman and I had come to an understanding, as only me giving him a couple million dollars could bring. It would be a win/win situation for the both of us. He would get a token NAWA World Title run for a few months and get some cash before I got my rightful place in the sun as NAWA World Champion. The night that this master plan was supposed to unfold, tonight on Glory but that didn't happen. Once again, some unseen force has robbed me of what is rightfully mine. But before the contract could be signed, two weeks ago, Ron Waterman got ran over by a car. I had the paperwork all ready for a title match but Tony Mamaluke, who no doubt was the one who ran over Waterman with the car, delayed my destiny.

The crowd boos Stylish but this raises an interesting point. Could Ron Waterman have sold out to Miles Stylish and handed him the NAWA World Title? It would explain why Stylish had vested interest in Waterman keeping the title last month.

Stylish: Last night, Mamaluke, you came so close to winning the title but I swept the rug out from underneath you. My vengeance for you scoring a series of fluke victories over me, my vengeance for you delaying my title shot for several weeks, but that match will happen. The contract has been signed and the NAWA World Title will be on the line, April 25th at Wildfire. Ron Waterman vs Miles Stylish for the NAWA World Title, only on Pay Per View. The inevitable could be stalled, but it cannot be stopped forever. I will become the champion at Wildfire. Ron Waterman will do the right thing, for business. At Wildfire...

"Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees starts up and interrupts Stylish in the ring. Tony Mamaluke comes out from the back, with a microphone and not looking like a happy camper.

Mamaluke: Stylish, last night, I came as close as I have ever gotten to beating Ron Waterman. I will never have that level of success against him again, and I could have won but you had to stick your nose where it didn't belong again. You say you have secured the NAWA World Title but you have secured nothing Stylish. I have talked with the Council of Five earlier today and the tape from last night has been reviewed. The result of last night's title match has been thrown out, pending a rematch, and so I am still the number one contender for the NAWA World Title and it will be Tony Mamaluke vs Ron Waterman at Wildfire for the belt. Your little master plan will have to wait, but I will fight like I have never fought before because I do not want to see the value of the NAWA World Title dropped because someone bought themselves a title reign instead of winning the belt legit.

Stylish: Mamaluke, let me tell you something right now. You are not on the level of Miles Stylish. You may have deluded yourself into thinking so but all those wins you have scored over me, the matches didn't matter. I have the contract to face Ron Waterman at Wildfire and I am going to get what should have been rightfully mine back at last year's WrestleClash, when Harry Harris stole the title shot that I was contracted to receive against Raven. Go back to the mid card Mamaluke, wrestle against cruiserweights, because you are not going to be in a World Title feud again, because last Sunday, you choked and now it's my turn. The NAWA World Title will finally be held by the best wrestler in the world today. Miles Stylish and there is...

Mamaluke: Stylish, if you think you can beat me when the matches matter, then put the title shot on the line tonight. One on One, here in Dallas, Miles Stylish vs Tony Mamaluke. Winner faces off against Ron Waterman at Wildfire. That is, if you are really the best wrestler in the world today and are up for the challenge. I will understand if you don't think you can beat me and I guess you will just have to forfeit your title shot because I have been named the official number one contender by the Council of Five.

Stylish: You know what, Mamaluke. I accept your little challenge. Not because I have anything to prove but so I can shut you out of the main event, where I believe you scarely belong, for good. Tonight, I am not holding anything back, and then at Wildfire, Ron Waterman will do the right thing for business and I will become the NAWA World Champion. See you in the ring Mamaluke, it will be your turn to be carried to the best match of your life like I did to the Gambler last Sunday.

Stylish drops the microphone. It will be Miles Stylish against Tony Mamaluke later tonight, winner faces Ron Waterman for the NAWA World Title at Wildfire. We will be right back after this.

"Take My Breath Away" by Berlin plays and out comes Teddy Hart, the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion, to boos from the crowd. Last Sunday, he managed to retain the title yet again, much to the displeasure of the NAWA fans. This is not on the format but flush the format, as this is the New Age Wrestling Alliance and we are all about impromptu. Teddy calls for the microphone.

Teddy Hart: Let me review why I am the best Cruiserweight Champion of all time in any federation. I beat Jimmy Yang and ran him out of the New Age Wrestling Alliance. I beat Michael Shane. I beat CM Punk. I beat both Michael Shane and CM Punk in the same match. I scored back to back Pay Per View wins over AJ Styles. I defeated Christopher Daniels, the only man to hold four different titles in the New Age Wrestling Alliance. And then last Sunday, I defeated Elix Skipper. Tried, tested, and proven, I am the best thing in the world of wrestling and I have no challengers that are worthy of challenging for my NAWA Cruiserweight Title. Who's going to stop me? Jushin Thunder Lyger? Overrated hack, who couldn't measure up to the greatness of Teddy Hart. Rey Misterio Jr? He is over in the other company, an inferior shell of his former self but still in his prime, he could not measure up to Teddy Hart. So you see, I am out of challengers, so I am going to try something new. The Teddy Hart Invitational. Anyone within the cruiserweight weight limit can face me in a non title match. If they somehow but some fluke defeat me, then they receive an NAWA Cruiserweight Title Shot at the next Pay Per View. If no one beats me prior to the Pay Per View, then I got the night off. So if anyone in the back has the guts, step up and face off against wrestling excellence, the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time, Teddy Hart!

Teddy drops his microphone and waits for someone to answer the call. A few moments later, Kaz Hayashi makes his way out. Kaz Hayashi is going to try his hand at the Teddy Hart invitational. Kaz steps into the ring and the bell rings, kicking off this non title match.

Punk: Last Sunday, I revealed to you all the mission that I am on. The mission to wipe out all that conflicts with my beliefs. The only beliefs that have self-fulfillment in life, that would be the beliefs of straight edge, but tonight, I am going to fight a man, who is no stranger to drugs. A man who got high on drugs and ran around naked in Austrailia, embarassing World Championship Wrestling, not that it needed much embarassment. That would be Juventud Guerrera. Mr. Guerrera, you sicken me with your ways. You say the Juice is on the loose. Well, all your juice, whatever it may be, and trust me I don't want to know, cannot combat Straight Edge. You know it Juvi. Straight Edge means I'm better than you. Pure of body, pure of soul, pure of mind, Juvi. I will prove that I am the top wrestler in the world today, no supplements needed. Raven was the first victim and Juventud Guerrera, you will be next. So come out here and face the music, the straight edge music.

I have unfinished business with Christopher Daniels but that can wait, as my focus is on you now. You walked into the snake pit, Punk, attempting to make a name for yourself at my expense. I commend your ambition but is it really worth it in the end? It won't be a fun time, as you enter my world, CM Punk. Pain and suffering is mandatory and salvation is scarce. I am waiting Punk, we can settle this the way they have done throughout the annals of time. A one on one fight, where the last man standing wins. Wildfire, CM Punk, if you have what it takes, I will be your judge, jury, and executioner. So it is written, so it shall come to pass. Quote the Raven, nevermore.

Punk: Your world Raven? I entered your world, and thrived in it. I accept your challenge at Wildfire, I am sure to pick up the pieces of what's left of you after the beating I gave you tonight.

Punk spits in the face of Raven before walking off. It will be CM Punk vs Raven for the NAWA Xtreme Title at Wildfire but Raven's skin has been pierced with the barbed wire by CM Punk. We will be right back.

Indeed, the Xtreme Title Belt will be hanging above the ring and the ropes will be taken down and replaced by razor wire. Rapmaster, until we dubbed you that, you were lucky to get in the opening match on Glory. I think the fame has gotten to your head, and Simon and Swinger are responsible for every little bit of success you have ever had. Until we took you underneath our wing, you were just K-Kwik, a preliminary wrestler, just a step above the Jobber Division. Stylish kicks Mamaluke and lifts him up in the fireman's carry but Mamaluke counters with a sitout faceslam on the swing. To the outside and Mamaluke waits on Stylish. Mamaluke leaps off and Springboard Spinning leg lariat. To the outside on the other end and slingshot legdrop. Cover and two count delivered by Tony Mamaluke!

Mamaluke is wondering what it will take Stylish out but he spies the broken open plaster on the ring apron that was once the cast. Mamaluke has a sick grin on his face as he raises the plaster and swings but STYLISH CATCHES MAMALUKE IN A FIREMAN'S CARRY AND BRINGS HIM DOWN INTO THE LAS VEGAS TRAUMA! Both men are down and the standing ten count is on but Stylish covers at nine and only scores a two and three fourth counts! Stylish is getting a little miffed and he pounds away at Mamaluke before applying the dragon sleeper. Stylish cranks on the hold, grinding the knee into the neck but Mamaluke crabwalks on the hold but his hand gives out midway, which causes Mamaluke to sink down. Shoulders on the mat but Stylish only gets a two count before Mamaluke rolls the shoulder up. The referee checks Mamaluke and two and a half arm drops but Stylish breaks the hold, thinking that the victory is at hand.

The arm is still up and Stylish is celebrating but when he is told differently, he is furious. Stylish fires some kicks to the head of Mamaluke and lifts him up. Stylish climbs to the top rope and chops away at Mamaluke. Superplex coming up but Mamaluke blocks it. Stylish gets shoved off and lands on his back. Sicilian Jam delivered big time. The move connected and Mamaluke is going to make the cover. STYLISH KICKS OUT AT TWO AND THREE FOURTHS! More stomppage before Mamaluke goes up top. Mamaluke is slow to climb up because he can only use one of his hands to pull himself up but Stylish is up and DROPKICK CAUSING MAMALUKE TO CROTCH HIMSELF ON THE TOP ROPE. Stylish climbs up, chopping away at Mamaluke. Stylish hooks Mamaluke, with both men on the top rope. SUPERPLEX!

Both men go crashing down on the top rope. Mamaluke hits hard but the back of Stylish's head smashes into that broken plaster cast. Both men are down and the referee is putting the count on both men. The referee is reaching seven, eight, it looks like neither of these men are going to move, nine, ten. The bell rings as this match has been declared a double knockout. A no decision here on Glory!

Miles Stylish and Tony Mamaluke battled to a no-contest in 0:13:20.
Rating: **** 1/4

Neither of these men are able to get up and the referee has thrown this match out but that begs the question. Which of these men are going to get the title shot at Wildfire! Perhaps we will find out next week on Glory but for now we are out of time. See you next week.

Triple Threat match, Ja? Waterman just got the last shot, so one would assume if anything he wouldn't get the rematch unless there was some twist on the title match second time around (IE some sort of gimmick). Also liked CM Punk here, he had a good self righteous edge captured to him which always makes for a good heel (the old Michael Hayes theory of a heel believing what he thinks to be effective).

I like your tag team division as it has some interesting combinations. Stasiak/Sanders, The Outsiders, and now Bentley/Sabin with Russo lead the way, but you have other unique and fun pairings like Lenny and Juvi with Joel Gertner, The Archangels, etc.

Stylish, Lynn, and The Dark Warrior are a solid heel stable, But I dont know that the Warrior fits in that well. Stylish and Lynn are both cocky and arrogant, yet Warrior is a jackass.

I like Teddy Hart and the rest of the clan. Teddy has really shown major talent in your promotion both in the ring and on the mic.
