Battle Royal Crashes

Fighter_HayabusaPosted on 12/07/05 at 22:28:41

I've had this problem with TNM for quite some time now, and I've finally decided to post on it.  When I run battle royals, it takes a while for the match to actually start.  I'll kick off a 3-man battle royal ("3 way dance") and TNM will sit on a blue screen for a bit, and maybe I'll hit spacebar or something, and then it will, after an indeterminate amount of time, actually jump into the match.  I have "join in progress" selected, by the way.

But that's not the BAD problem.

BIG battle royals sometimes hang TNM completely.  I have twice had to shut down TNM during 30-man Royal Rumble matches.  What happens is this:

I start the rumble
Decide I don't feel like watching it for 2 hours (in-game time)
Hit "F" to sim the whole thing
A bunch of the match skips by, then it just freezes

Nothing helps and I need to crash out of TNM, reopen it, and kill the "running" match, then re-run the match and hope it doesn't crash AGAIN.

Does this happen to anyone else?

It looks to me as if you either have a corrupted file or far more likely a memory or .dll conflict problem. I would download TNM again and try reinstalling first. You might try a memory manager (www.jfitz.com/software/RAMpage/ is a good one). I would also suggest turning off your antivirus program and any other programs which might be running (make sure you're internet connection is off). Finally, you might try being more patient and running the entire match (don't "join in progress" or hit the F key although I've never had a problem with the F key (never tried joining a match in progress)).

P.S.
I never had any luck as Fighter Hayabusa. Could never hit the Back Brain Kick (although I was hit with it several times) I always did way better as Starman.
