NWA-UK Hammerlock Live Show #20
Tap N Tin, Chatham, Kent

Catch up with NWA-UK Hammerlock at http://members.lycos.co.uk/NWA_UKHammerlock/NWAhome.htm

***In the month that we have been away, we unfortunately have to report that NWA-UK Hammerlock has lost its television deal. As a result, Hammerlock will now present periodic live shows, beginning with this one at the Tap N Tin in Chatham. Hammerlock officials are frantically attempting to negotiate a new contract with several stations and networks. More on this situation when we get it.

Minobu Katsuoka and Takayoshi Matsuhei defeated Circus Act (Cobblers and Happy)
when Matsuhei pinned Cobblers with the Pegasus Rolling Crash in 0:04:16.
Rating: ***

Match highlights:
Minobu Katsuoka and Takayoshi Matsuhei are the two henchmen of Hiro Kakuhari who beat down Jawaid Kaleeq several weeks ago and the dangerous Japanese duo looked very impressive in dismantling the clowns here tonight. Cobblers and Happy had no answer to Katsuoka and Matsuhei's barrage of chops and kicks. Katsuoka annihilated Cobblers with the Freezing Coffin. Happy used a hand buzzer to shock Katsuoka, but he responded by obliterating Happy with the Stardust Revolution. Matsuhei almost decapitated Cobblers with a nasty kick to the head and then put him away with the Pegasus Rolling Crash, a variation on the Air Raid Crash.

After the bell, Minobu Katsuoka and Takayoshi Matsuhei turned their attention to the rest of the clown entourage, Tom Fun, Pop-up Polly and Little Nick. The Japanese duo pounded the crap out of them until Jawaid Kaleeq hit the ring to make the save. The crowd roared as Kaleeq rocked Katsuoka and Matsuhei with elbowsmashes when Hiro Kakuhari ran in and spewed a mouthful of mist into his eyes, stopping him in his tracks. Kaleeq was blinded and Kakuhari dropped the TV Champion on his head with a devastating brain buster. The crowd jeered as Kakuhari's cohorts held Kaleeq in place for a series of kicks to the abdomen and upper body. Eventually, a posse of officials and road agents intervened to stop the carnage. Jawaid Kaleeq was seriously hurt as a result of the attack.

Triangle Match:
Martyn Sullivan defeated Aero and Eggsy when M. Sullivan pinned Eggsy with the
Flying Headbutt in 0:11:00.
Rating: *** 1/4

Match highlights:
This exciting three-way got off to a blistering start as Aero took out Martyn Sullivan with a flying cross body press and then dropped him with a Frankensteiner from the top rope. Eggsy missed a springboard 450 on Aero. Sullivan nailed Eggsy with a dropkick and planted him with a German suplex. Eggsy almost won it with a flying sunset flip on Aero. Sullivan scored with a springboard ropeflip moonsault on Eggsy and then hit an Asai moonsault. Sullivan was then victorious with a flying headbutt.

The most unpopular athlete in Hammerlock, Dan Stirling, sprinted down to the squared circle after the match and attacked Martyn Sullivan. Stirling floored Sullivan with a sickening roundhouse kick to the head and quickly applied a chokehold. Sullivan was struggling in the hold, coughing and spluttering, but was slowly losing consciousness. Road agents and officials hit the ring and dragged Sullivan off, breaking his grip. As paramedics tended to Sullivan, Dan Stirling took the microphone and dared Martyn Sullivan to face him for some "real competition". He challenged Sullivan to a kickboxing match at Collision Course.

Bryan Campbell interview.
"The Blue Chipper" Bryan Campbell made his way out for an interview with Chris Freeman. Campbell said that he had been without the NWA-UK Hammerlock Television Championship for nearly a month now and that was too long. Campbell warned that he didn't care if the company was in chaos, he wasn't going to wait any longer. He demanded that Jawaid Kaleeq put the TV Title on the line against him tonight. Chris Freeman reminded Campbell that Kaleeq had been seriously beaten up by Kakuhari, Katsuoka and Matsuhei earlier in the evening and probably wouldn't be fit to compete. The Blue Chipper didn't care and said that if Kaleeq doesn't step in the ring with him tonight, he'll do everything in his power to have Kaleeq stripped of the gold and it returned to its rightful owner.

Will Gates made Rick Knight submit to the Trojan Horse in 0:04:43.
Rating: **

Match highlights:
Will Gates was still gloating over stealing Muerte de Antedicho's mask a while back, but he certainly wasn't smiling as Rick Knight smacked him around in the early going of this one. Gates weathered the storm though and dropped Knight with a flying clothesline. Knight came back with a hard lariat, but Gates took the advantage again by jamming his laptop into Knight's knee behind the official's back. Gates then slapped on the Trojan Horse for the tap out.

Will Gates, who had brought Antedicho's mask down to the ring with him, put the mask on after the match to add further insult to his actions of several weeks ago. However, as he had been preoccupied with donning the mask, he failed to notice Muerte de Antedicho entering the ring. He turned around right into a flurry of punches from the angry Spaniard to the joy of the fans. Antedicho drilled Gates with a hard DDT and pulled the mask off Gates' head. Antedicho then took Gates' laptop, set it on the steel steps and destroyed it with a steel chair. Gates was almost in tears when he discovered what had happened. These two will meet in the near future at Collision Course.

La Cosa Nostra (Manuel Majoli and Matteo Saronni) defeated
Team Buddies (Brad and Marty) when Saronni pinned Brad after a dragon suplex in
0:20:32.
Rating: ***

Match highlights:
Former tag team champions La Cosa Nostra got back on track here tonight with a hard-fought victory at the expense of the Team Buddies. Matteo Saronni scored the pinfall with a tight dragon suplex on Brad.

Linda O'Neil interview.
Linda O'Neil, the self-proclaimed World's Sexiest Brunette, strutted down to the ring to wolf-whistles and cat calls from the men in the crowd. She took the microphone and put over her man Jason Prentice, claiming that he would defeat Ben Winter at Collision Course and retain the Heavyweight Title. That brought out Victoria Silvstedt, the manager of Ben Winter. Victoria disagreed and insinuated that Prentice is scared of Winter because he knows that his title is in serious jeopardy. Linda laughed and said that victory would be easy for Jason Prentice - about as easy as Victoria Silvstedt. Silvstedt slapped the taste out of Linda's mouth and a catfight broke out to roars from the crowd! As the two ladies rolled about on the mat pulling at each other's hair, Jason Prentice hit the ring and dragged Victoria off Linda by her blonde locks. In an abhorrent move, Prentice then laid out Victoria with the Perfect Plant! Ben Winter ran down to the ring to help Victoria as Prentice and Linda made a quick getaway.

Kyle Coulbourne and Bodysnatcher Blair battled to a double count-out in 0:05:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match highlights:
This match served as a preview of the NWA-UK Hammerlock Tag Team Title Match at Collision Course between The New Young Lions and The Bodysnatchers. Kyle Coulbourne took it to Bodysnatcher Blair early with a reverse neckbreaker, a slingshot somersault splash and a Frankensteiner. Blair came back with a short clothesline and a suplex. Coulbourne hit a flapjack but then Blair rolled out of the ring. Coulbourne took him out at ringside with an amazing plancha and the two men brawled into the crowd, where they were both counted out. Referees attempted to separate the two men, but then Brandon Alvarez and Bodysnatcher Burke arrived on the scene to join their partners in the melee. All four men fought right out of the building, surrounded by officials and road agents.

Backstage, Victoria Silvstedt was being checked over by the trainer after Jason Prentice's cowardly attack. Ben Winter was beside himself with anger. Suddenly, Jason Prentice ran in and decked The Iceman with the Heavyweight Title belt. He threatened to slap Victoria, before putting the boots to the fallen Winter and then making a hasty exit.

Kontraband, Hijinx and Shenanigans defeated
Goldie Lookin' Chain (2-Hats, One Step Down and P Xain) when Hijinx pinned Xain
after a rana in 0:09:07.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Mystikal interfered against Kontraband.]

Match highlights:
This six-man tag featuring some of the best high-flyers in Hammerlock was all action from bell to bell. Shenanigans scored with a springboard clothesline off a chair on 2-Hats. Kontraband floored P Xain with a stiff enzuigiri. One Step Down and Xain nailed Kontraband with a double suplex. The Stepper drilled Kontraband with a springboard legdrop. Hijinx almost won it with an inside cradle on One Step Down. Kontraband blasted Xain with a shooting star press, but Mystikal showed up at ringside and pulled Kontraband off P Xain! Kontraband proceeded to chase Mystikal to the back - those two will meet in a 2/3 falls table match at Collision Course. Hijinx picked up the win for his team with a rana off a chair on Xain.

Backstage, Jawaid Kaleeq was arguing with the doctors about the injuries he suffered from the attack by Kakuhari, Katsuoka and Matsuhei earlier in the evening. Kaleeq ignored their advice and swore he would defend his TV Title against Bryan Campbell here tonight.

Anthony DeAngelo pinned Devon Ferrari with the X-Spot in 0:07:10.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match highlights:
Anthony DeAngelo had pinned Devon Ferrari in a big eight-man tag team match several weeks ago, so Ferrari was out for revenge. DeAngelo nearly won it early with a backslide. Ferrari returned fire with a German suplex and a flying back elbow. DeAngelo focused his assault on Ferrari's back and punished him with a backbreaker. DeAngelo then put Ferrari away with the X-Spot for his second win in a row over Everybody's Favourite Wrestler.

Jason Prentice interview.
The NWA-UK Hammerlock Heavyweight Champion cut a scathing promo on Ben Winter. He claimed that people are predicting it will be easy for The Iceman at Collision Course, but Prentice said he would get the better of Winter then just like he did tonight. He said that nobody would ever take the title away from him and that he would have to be buried with the strap around his waist. Prentice added that he was the only true champion in Hammerlock, taking a dig at the TV Title by branding it worthless because the company doesn't have TV any more.

[Jeeves and Leilani interfered against Steve Bailey.]
[Leilani and Major James Hewitt interfered against Junior Jones.]

Match highlights:
This crazy eight-man tag team elimination match only served to shake up the TV Title contendership rankings. M.J. took Matt Sizemore with a short lariat. M.J. kicked out of Steve Bailey's crucifix. M.J. power bombed Sizemore almost through the canvas. Sizemore executed the Size Matters on Cuthbert Fharquar, but Jeeves diverted the referee's attention. Ian Powers nailed Junior Jones with a spinebuster, but Jones came back with a backslide on Powers and the Pride of East London only just escaped. Powers choke slammed Jones. Lord Potemkin took Jones over with a nice Northern Lights suplex and then power bombed Bailey. Bailey roared back with a rana on the loathesome lord. The Punisher hit Potemkin with a Sky High power bomb, but Powers made the save. The Punisher sent Powers flying from the ring and then pinned Potemkin with the Total Punishment.
M.J. used a running powerslam on The Punisher. Steve Bailey went for something off the top rope, but Leilani shoved him off. Ian Powers made the cover, but Bailey kicked out. Jones blasted Powers with a German suplex. Powers kneedropped Bailey and the eliminated him with a power bomb to tie the match up at three men on each team.
Junior Jones dominated Ian Powers with a slingshot legdrop and a dropkick. Powers was softened up enough for Matt Sizemore to pin him with a perfectly executed German suplex.
Cuthbert Fharquar hit Sizemore with a dragon suplex and then choked him. Sizemore rallied back though and wiped M.J. out at ringside with a flying cross body press. Major James Hewitt threw his cane to Fharquar and the aristocrat cracked Junior Jones between the eyes with it. The three count soon followed and the bout was again levelled at two men on each team.
The Punisher used an incredible rana on Fharquar. Fitness instructor M.J. hit The Punisher with a gutwrench suplex. Matt Sizemore hit M.J. with a reverse neckbreaker and then put him away with a jack-knife, leaving Cuthbert D. Fharquar all alone against the duo of The Punisher and Matt Sizemore!
Fharquar was in trouble and he knew it. After a short exchange with Sizemore, Fharquar seized possession of the cane again and smashed Sizemore over the head with it, busting him open. The referee promptly disqualified the nefarious aristocrat, so The Punisher and Matt Sizemore are the sole survivors.

The Punisher confronted Cuthbert Fharquar after the bell about his reprehensible actions, but Jeeves attacked him with a steel chair. The burly butler then flattened The Punisher with a jaw-dropping splash from the top-rope! The aristocrats gloated in front of the jeering fans about what they had done as The Punisher and Matt Sizemore nursed their injuries in the ring.

(Jawaid Kaleeq retained the NWA-UK Hammerlock Television Title.)

Match highlights:
Bryan Campbell took advantage of Kakuhari's attack immediately and powerslammed Jawaid Kaleeq. The Blue Chipper was eager to regain the TV Title and he punished Kaleeq with a lung blower, hoping to cause further internal injuries. Campbell destroyed Kaleeq with a fisherman buster and a full nelson slam, before pinning him after drilling him with a piledriver.
The Blue Chipper gloated to the fans, sensing the bout was in the bag after only two minutes. He locked on a sleeper, but Kaleeq fought out and connected with a dropkick. Showing great heart, Kaleeq rocked Campbell with a clothesline and a back elbow. The match swung back in Campbell's favour though when he went to the eyes and then hiptossed Kaleeq. Campbell scored with a flying forearm, but Kaleeq wouldn't stay down. The Blue Chipper overwhelmed the champ with a back suplex and a vertical suplex. With the fans behind him, Kaleeq roared back with a succession of elbowsmashes and nailed a missile dropkick. Campbell was stunned and soon succumbed to Kaleeq's Tiger Clutch, tying the match up at one fall apiece.
There were less than four minutes remaining of the allotted fifteen minute time limit and both combatants traded chops and punches. Kaleeq almost scored another pinfall with a flying neckbreaker drop and then the TV champ refused to tap when Campbell trapped him in a dragon sleeper. Bryan Campbell hoisted Kaleeq up onto the top rope and signalled that he was going to finish him off with a super fisherman buster. However, Kaleeq was able to block it and blasted Campbell with an amazing top rope tiger driver for the three count!!
There was no further action in the bout as Jawaid Kaleeq was completely fatigued and Campbell lay motionless on the mat after taking that impactful manoeuvre. Kaleeq retains the title and goes on to defend against Hiro Kakuhari at Collision Course.

After the bout, the fans gave Jawaid Kaleeq a standing ovation and he graciously thanked them all for their support.

Circuit information:
NWA-UK Hammerlock is slowly getting back on track during this trying time. The loss of our TV deal was a real kick in the teeth, but we are doing all we can to rectify the situation. We are very grateful for the loyalty shown by our exceptional fanbase in recent weeks.

Here's the final card for Collision Course...
NWA-UK Hammerlock Heavyweight Title Match:
"Picture Perfect" Jason Prentice (w/ Linda O'Neil) vs. "The Iceman" Ben Winter (w/ Victoria Silvstedt)
NWA-UK Hammerlock Television Title Match:
Jawaid Kaleeq vs. Hiro Kakuhari

NWA-UK Hammerlock Tag Team Title Match:
The New Young Lions vs. The Bodysnatchers

Muerte de Antedicho vs. Will Gates

2/3 Falls Tables Match:
Kontraband vs. Mystikal

And the following three matches have just been added this evening...
Kickboxing Match:
Martyn Sullivan vs. Dan Stirling

Four Way Dance:
Anthony DeAngelo (w/ Serenity) vs. Devon Ferrari vs. Steve Bailey vs. Ian Powers (w/ Leilani)

The Punisher, Junior Jones and Matt Sizemore vs. The Aristocrats (w/ Major James Hewitt)

Collision Course was already a much-anticipated night of action before these three matches were added to the card. You have to question Martyn Sullivan's mindset for accepting Dan Stirling's challenge and stepping into the former Kickboxing World Champion's domain, but he is chomping at the bit to get his hands on him. The four way should be interesting as Devon Ferrari is eager to defeat Anthony DeAngelo after two straight losses to him and Steve Bailey wants revenge on Ian Powers and Leilani after they combined to eliminate him from the eight man tag match tonight. Also, the trio of The Punisher, Junior Jones and Matt Sizemore want payback on The Aristocrats after they felt the wrath of Major James Hewitt's cane this evening.

We hope you will join us soon for Collision Course. Your continued support is very much appreciated. Till then, so long everybody!!

I like the realism of circuits losing TV-deals and taping live-shows and using parts of it for it, but it is sometimes difficult to keep track of.

In your archives, the most recent show is on top, but where do the live shows fit into this? In between? And what about the Tag Team World Cup? I'm trying to read your circuit chronologically  ;D

Let's hope you get a new TV deal soon!
King_Of_Old_SchoolPosted on 10/24/05 at 16:27:34

The TV shows use footage from the live shows. You can tell what TV corresponds to which live show by the venue. The Tag Team World Cup started right after GrandSlam and ran for a week.
rey619Posted on 10/24/05 at 21:29:31

Yup, I sorta figured that out eventually.. I'm working my way through the cards now, and am approaching Grand Slam. So far it's a nice circuit. I'll recommend everyone to check out the first few cards to get a general idea to how the fantasy wrestlers are.
rey619Posted on 10/28/05 at 15:42:50

Over the course of the last two weeks, I have been reading this circuit at available time at work, and I have decided to bring you feedback for all of it.

First off, you surely have put a lot of work into your circuit. Not only have you created all of the wrestlers yourself, but the entire format of it is very logical in that you run live shows and parts of it are televised. This is a really nice touch that is never seen elsewhere.

Your writing styles is very similar to my own, with match write-ups consisting of resumés of various moves used and how the flow of the match went. I prefer this over PBP, so it definetely appeals to me, even though it can sometimes seem a little static. The matches are all brilliantly booked, and the winner isn't always as predictable as you could expect from SE. The TV title reign of Bryan Campbell was especially impressive, every title match I thought to myself.. this time he drops it.. :)

The fantasy wrestlers are really creative thought-out, and I can easily imagine them in my head, as the personalities are quite clear cut and the gimmicks are very distinct from each other. Often I picture them as real life wrestler I think they are similar to. Jason Prentice is for me Chris Jericho, Bryan Campbell is Randy Orton, the NEDS and GLC are Special K (high flying jobbers all of them, except Mystikal...  Jay Lethal anyone?) If that doesn't work, I find actors and such to picture. the Punisher is of course ... well Marvel's Punisher  ;D

I also think you have managed to bring forth your own style of wrestling, which can set British wrestling apart from American, Japanese and Mexican. What I'm talking about is the similarities between your circuit and European soccer, with a lot of round robin tournaments, and all TV Title matches being Iron man matches.

I really need to scratch my head if I can find anything to put my finger on that I don't like... the circuit is really sports entertainmentish, without silly storylines, but with bikini contests, beautiful valets and stereotypical gimmicks. I'm not too into SE personally, but I would choose your take on SE over WWE any day.

So I really hope that more Hammerlock shows are on the horizon, it has been an enjoyable read so far, and I can heartily recommend it to other users of the board who is intimidated by the fact that it is Fantasy wrestlers.

One last thing, while you initially explained signature moves, it can easily be forgotten, and it would be really helpful if you included that information now and then. Like: "Prentice drops him with the Perfect Plant (inverted DDT) for the win".

King_Of_Old_SchoolPosted on 10/28/05 at 18:12:57

Thank you very much for your kind words. Glad you have enjoyed reading the shows as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Finally got round to running Collision Course today, so I'll get on to writing and posting that as soon as I can. Cheers.
