Hello Everyone,

I am somewhat an off and on TNMer and I am wanting to get back into the mix! I have alot of fun writing cards and sharing them with everyone. I will be honest, I have been out of the mix for awhile. I am looking for some suggestions with a starting roster, and maybe even some basic angles to try. Always looking for some good help with it so if you have any ideas please share them with me!

Thanks again and I can't wait to start sharing cards,

Welcome to the fun!

In terms of advice about a starting roster, I would say pick either the era you got into wrestling (for me, it was the late 80's), or pick your favourite era (perhaps they are the same), and then go from there.

That way, you will be 100% behind your own circuit while it is getting established and the storylines and cards will be all the better for it!

Yeah the late 80's were cool. In the past I have done a mix of alot of era's. I had people such as; Demolition, The Hart Foundation, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Sting, Flair, Triple H, DDP, Randy Orton, and ect....

I like the fact of seing some dream matchups of guys when they were in their prime versus others in their prime that you would not have seen.

I love the new era of wrestling such as the TNA X Divison, but I also love the early 90's of WWF and WCW. I am thinking about mixing the two. So far I would like to have a roster of;

AJ Styles
Christopher Daniels
Brian Pillman
"Stunning" Steve Austin
Rick Rude
"The Bristish Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith
The Nasty Boys
The Beverly Brothers
heck even the Natural Disasters

I have even done a fed once where I just went ahead and did the mystery feature on my first card and brought in just random people and went from there. Has anyone else every tried that or had experiences with that option?

I have used the mystery feature to build a roster.  It is pretty fun except you get some interesting rosters sometimes.

One way to build a random roster that gives you a little more control is to (in a test circuit) get twice as many wrestlers as you need using the M Key (or slightly more or slightly less) and then just pick and choose who you want out of the random selection until you've wittled your roster down to the size you want.  If you have a wide variety of wrestlers in your database then you should still end up with a good mix while still getting wrestler you'll feel confortable writing for.
