Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and tonight we've got the semi-finals for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament, plus three other exciting matches.  Let's get down to action with Clara Michaels in the ring.

Clara Michaels: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Great Lakes Wrestling Federation!  Our first match is a tag team match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, at a total combined weight of 444lbs... Austin Aries and "Ace in the Hole" Sonny Siaki!

Sonny Siaki: I just want to say that I demanded this match.  Well, not exactly.  What I demanded was a singles match against Jimmy Jacobs, the man who beat me... excuse me... got lucky three weeks ago.  What I was given was this tag match with Aries and the man he beat three weeks ago, but it doesn't matter.  What's important is that Jimmy Jacobs' short career ends tonight.  I hate Jimmy Jacobs for knocking me out of the tournament.  I hate him.  I was to destroy him for taking that title away from me.  That title was mine and he couldn't even make it past the quarterfinals.  It was my destiny... it was my precious... my precious golden belt.  It was mine!  Mine!  *Austin Aries takes the mic away from him*

Austin Aries: If you hate Jimmy Jacobs so much why don't you stop flapping your gums and let him come out so we can start the match.  *Siaki isn't pleased but allows Aries to give the microphone back to Clara*

Clara Michaels: And their opponents... at a total combined weight of 354lbs... "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs and "Textbook" Tyson Dux!

Siaki started off strong against Jacobs.  He was like a man possessed and despite constant warnings from the ref he used the choke as often as he could.  Aries was getting a little tired of the "Sonny Siaki" show and tagged himself in.  Siaki argued with Aries about it allowing Jacobs to make the tag bringing in Dux, who cleaned house.  Dux couldn't stay on top very long.  And Aries took control.  Several times Siaki tried to tag himself in but Aries got away from him before he could get tagged.  Dux hit a big back suplex out of no where and both men were down.  At about a 5 count they started stirring and it was a race to get the tag.  Dux got it first and in came Jacobs.  He prevented Aries from getting the tag and knocked Siaki off the apron.  Jacobs stayed in charge long enough to tag Dux back in.  Once Siaki recovered he burst into the ring and attacked Jacobs.  The two brawled on the outside while on the inside Aries grabbed control away from Dux with a big clothesline and a moonsault that just barely gets him the three.

Austin Aries and Sonny Siaki defeated Jimmy Jacobs and Tyson Dux when Aries pinned Dux after a moonsault in 0:09:12.
Rating: ** 1/4

Jacobs and Siaki brawl all the way to the back.

Clara Michaels: This next match is scheduled for one fall... introducing first... from Detroit, Michigan... weighing in at 199lbs... "The Next" Alex Shelley!  And his opponent... from Aberdeen, Washington... weighing in at 185lbs... "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!

Danielson took control early on, stunning Shelley with a jawbreaker right off the bat.  He tried to cover quick and got two counts after a hard elbowsmash, a flying cross body block, a Rydeen Bomb, and a german suplex.  Shelley turns things around after landing on AmDrag after a back suplex attempt.  Danielson got back in control with a tope suicida after Shelley went to the outside for a breather.  They didn't stay on the outside for very long and Shelley took advantage of the fact that Danielson rolled him into the ring before he entered himself.  Shelley only managed to get a one count after a spinning heel kick and didn't end up getting any other pin attempts.  Mostly because he decided to play to the crowd while he should have been capitalizing on a hurt Danielson.  Toward the end of the match Danielson hit a sick looking Yakuza kick on a mid-air Alex Shelley, popped up top, waited, and once Shelley stood up and turned toward him hit a crossbody block for the pin.

Bryan Danielson pinned Alex Shelley after a flying cross body press in 0:08:37.
Rating: ** 3/4

Clara Michaels: This next match is scheduled for one fall... introducing first... from Los Angeles, California... weighing in at 196lbs... "1000% Guapo" Shocker!  And his opponent... from the Bowery... weighing in at 225lbs... Raven!

Raven: I am the damned.  I am one of the souls condemned to a bleak existence.  Sent to spread misery wherever I turn.  I make the day grow dark and the stars blink out away from the eyes of the huddled masses and onto the gatekeeper of the bowels of hades.  Soon you too Shocker... will be damned... and feel the Raven Effect... quoth the Raven... nevermore.

Shocker wasn't quite sure what to make of Raven's little... umm... "speech," but if it was meant to be mind games from Raven then it didn't work because Shocker put his lucha skills to good use.  Raven had virtually no offense during the match... at time it almost didn't seem like he was trying... like the pain was... good or something.  Shocker got a few near falls, but couldn't make anything stick.  As the match wore on it became apparent that he wasn't fighting back.  Shocker springboarded off the second rope for an attack of some kind but was met with a kick to the midsection from Raven followed by the Raven Effect!  1... 2...3!

Raven pinned Shocker with the Raven Effect in 0:06:11.
Rating: ** 1/2

Shocker put on a good show and Raven took a lot of punishment, but Raven's version of the DDT is just... damned effective if anything.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a semi-final match in the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Canada... weighing in at 251lbs... "Bulldog" Harry Smith!  And his opponent... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 201lbs... "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane!

Michael Shane: Harry Smith.  Son of the legendary Davey Boy.  You're father and the Dynamite Kid were some team.  They didn't take any crap from anybody... I mean... sure, they were all goody-two-shoes about it, but it's still something you gotta respect.  What I wonder is how did someone so great... have a son that's such a loser.  I mean, seriously, last week Raven punked you out.  You beat him two weeks ago and that's some feet for someone of your... let's say... green hue.  Then last week Raven comes out and gets revenge.  He hits you with the Raven effect as you're celebrating your much less impressive win over Alex Shelley.  I love Alex, but let's be honest.  Compared to him you do have the edge in the power department.  As you're flailing your arms around in victory here comes the man you put away the week before and he floors you.  You were out cold!  Then I walk into the arena tonight and I hear through the grape vine that you aren't even gonna do anything about it?  Kid, you've got a lot to learn and I'm about to teach it to you.  You take every advantage... that my friend, is how you become excellent. *Shane whacks Smith with the mic*  Now ring the bell, class is in session.

That microphone shot busted Smith open a little.  He's got a small trickle of blood coming from his forehead, but it's hard to tell exactly where from because Shane is laying in the fists.  Shane hits a senton and gets a two count and holds onto a back suplex for another two shortly after.  Smith hasn't been in the fight very much yet.  Thanks to Shane's "little friend" Smith looks to almost be out on his feet.  He's managing to stop about half of Shane's attempts at anything except for strikes, but can't shake the willies off enough to actually capitalize on the opportunity he creates.  Michael Shane wasn't kidding when he said he was teaching a lesson, because he's really pulling every move out of his play book and Smith is taking a lot of punishment.  It looks like it's all over... Smith is down thanks to a snap mare and Shane goes up top.  He show boats for a little too long though and Smith rolls away when Shane goes for the Picture Perfect Elbow.  Shane looks like he's really hurt after missing that, but can Smith get to his feet before Shane?  No.  Shane is up first and catches Smith on one knee, he throws a punch, but Smith blocks.  He tries again... and Smith blocks again!  Smith is fighting back for really the first time in the match.  He's hitting lefts and rights.  He whips Shane into the corner and changes in hard for a shoulder to the midsection... but Shane gets out of the way!  Smith goes sailing into the corner post!  Shane hits a wheelbarrow suplex and follows it with the Picture Perfect Elbow for the three.

[Great Lakes Heavyweight Title Tourney - Semi-Final]:
Michael Shane pinned Harry Smith with the Picture Perfect Elbow in 0:13:09.
Rating: *** 3/4

Shane picks up the win and goes to the finals, but you have to think that it would have been a different story all together had it not been for that cheap shot to start off the match.

Clara Michaels: Our main event for this evening is a Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament semi-final match and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 271lbs... "The Show Stopper" H.B. Cade!  And his opponent... from Orange County, California... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!

Cade acts like he wants to shake hands.  Joe is hesitant and asks the fans what he should do.  Finally he goes to accept, but Cade pulls his hand back and runs it through his hair like he's back in the 4th grade.  Finally they lock up.  Joe hits Cade a few times while still holding onto him.  He nails a northern lights suplex and gets one.  Before Cade can scramble away Joe grabs his leg and kicks at his thigh.  He then latches on a leg lock.  Looks like Joe wants to disable Cade's Superkicking leg.  Joe lets go and Cade gets out of the ring for a 7 count.  Joe was on Cade like stink on a monkey.  Anytime that Joe was in charge he'd always try and go for Cade's leg.  Most of the time Cade got away, but towards the end of the match Cade was trying to hide a limp and not doing very well.  Even with the limp Cade mounted some great offense that almost got him the match after a big powerslam.  Cade made a mistake in going for a high knee.  Joe ducked and Cade landed in the ropes.  Joe grabbed him out of the ropes and hits a big powerslam to win the match.

[Great Lakes Heavyweight Title Tourney - Semi-Final]:
Samoa Joe pinned H.B. Cade with a powerslam in 0:12:18.
Rating: *** 1/4

Next week we'll finally decide the Great Lakes Heavyweight champion!  It'll be Samoa Joe vs. Michael Shane one-on-one, but we'll have more for you than just that match.  Tune in next week and see what action unfolds on the next edition of GLWF Action TV!

I'll go for Samoa Joe to win the championship, the guy is just too brutal to lose to Michael Shane. Speaking of which, you should continue the Shane/Smith  feud, as it reminds me a little of the Michaels/Hart feud.
