Rob Van Dam & Sabu vs The Briscoe Brothers (Grudge Match):

For the past few weeks, both of these teams have been on a role. The two teams collided last week at Combat Evolved, and a big upset was pulled through as The Briscoe Brothers ended up with a huge victory. On The March to CyberSlam, Sabu and Rob Van Dam wanted a chance to prove themselves, and show us that they are better than the two rookies, so they issued a challenge and the match was made. The match started off very slow paced, and gradually picked up speed along the way. The high spot of the match was when Sabu executed a legdrop from the top rope, all the way down to the arena floor on Jay Briscoe. We thought it would be all over right there, but Mark riscoe saved his brother. RVD and Mark Briscoe were at it, when out of nowhere, Jay Briscoe attacks Sabu. This distracted RVD and Mark Briscoe executed a Cutthroat Suplex to pick up another shocking win!

D-Von Dudley vs Bubba Ray Dudley (Dog Collar Table Match):

This match has had a lot of build up to it. Dawn Marie deserted the Impact Players to become The Dudley Boys manager, and Dawn Marie and Bubba started to hit things off and eventually became a couple. The Dudley Boys had a #1 Contenders Spot for the tag team titles, but Dawn Marie ruined their chances and tore the team apart. The Impact Players replaced The Dudleys spot tonight against the champions, just so these two could face off. These guys battled to near death. D-Von set up Bubba on the table, and climed the top rope. When it seemed that it was all over, Bubba got up and cought D-Von in midair and slammed him through the table to pickup the win.

(World X Title Match):
Low-Ki (C) vs Steven Richards vs Rey Mysterio vs Tajiri vs Samoa Joe

This was a match to remember, the first ever ECW 5 Way Dance, and it blew us and the audience at the show away. The first elimination took place 10 minutes into the match, when Tajiri slammed Steven Richards down with a vertical facebuster, and thats all she wrote, Tajiri eliminates Richards. The next elimination was a shocker, the X Champion was the 2nd man eliminated by Mysterio to guarantee us a new X Champion here tonight! Mysterio did not stop his rampage there, as he took out the biggest man in ECW Samoa Joe with a standing moonsault. Now it is down to just two of the X-Divisions best, Tajiri and Rey Mysterio. But the ending wasn't as great as it would me mapped out to be, becuase as soon as Rey got up Tajiri spit his mist and executed the Kick Of Death to kock out Rey and win the title!

5-Man Battle Royal
Tajiri won a 5-man Battle Royal:
x Tajiri defeated S. Richards after a vertical facebuster in 0:10:42
x Mysterio defeated Low-Ki after the West Coast Pop in 0:16:03
x Mysterio defeated Joe after a standing moonsault in 0:16:24
x Tajiri defeated Mysterio after the Kick Of Death in 0:16:30
Rating: **** 3/4
(Tajiri won the ECW World X Title.)

(ECW Tag Team Title Match):
The Gathering (CM Punk & Christopher Daniels) vs The Impact Players

You would think it would be impossibe to follow up such a great match, right? Wrong. The Impact Players and The Gathering put up a great techinical wrestling match, and has a chance at being the match of the year. Even though The Gathering has had such great success in the past, they were no match for the excpierienced tag team.

Match with Managers Banned From Ringside
The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) defeated The Gathering (Christopher Daniels and CM Punk) when L. Storm pinned Punk after
a Northern Lights suplex in 0:21:44.

Chris Benoit vs Triple H (Best 2/3 Falls Cage Match):

In UWA, Chris Benoit put out HHH on the injured list, and Benoit replaced HHH's  place as World Champion. As soon as UWA turned into NWA Unlimited, both wrestlers were released. On Combat Evolved, Benoit had a chance to be in tonights #1 Contenders Match with Tommy Dreamer (For the ECW World Title) but Triple H interfered and blamed Benoit for being fired. He proceeded to rant and complain and challenged Benoit to a Cage Match and Benoit accepted. The first fall took a while to happen, and Triple H slapped on the Pdigree to pick up the first fall. After that, Benoit was not the same. That loss put Benoit in a trance that he would not get out of until the end of the match. He concentrated on submission holds for a while before picking up the second fall. The third and final fall was ready to happen, and Triple H thought he had it in his hands. He set up for the Pedigree, and Benoit reversed it into the Crippler Crossface and HHH immediatly tapped out!

Two-out-of-three-Falls Cage Match
Chris Benoit beat Triple H 2 falls to 1:
x Triple H beat Benoit via the Pedigree in 0:13:58
        x Benoit beat Triple H via a figure-four leglock in 0:16:51

Rating: *** 3/4

(ECW World Television Title Match):
Shawn Michaels (C) vs Steve Corino vs Matt Hardy

The first fall took place very quickly when Michaels made Corino submit to the figure four leg lock. It was only down to HBK and Matt Hardy. For the past weeks,
these two have been battling on and off, and not one time did HBK beat Hardy.  So Hardy was inducted into this match by Commisioner Bizzle. Tonight, was no
different as Matt Hardy executed the Twist of Fate earn the World Television Title.

Triangle Match
Matt Hardy defeated Shawn Michaels and Steve Corino:
        x S. Michaels beat S. Corino via a figure-four leglock in 0:05:53
x M. Hardy beat S. Michaels via the Twist Of Fate in 0:18:16
Rating: *** 1/2
(Matt Hardy won the ECW World Television Title.)

Brock Lesnar vs Tommy Dreamer (#1 Contenders Match for the ECW World Title):

These two men fought this match, because they hated each other. In UWA, Dreamer and Lesnar were feuding. No no no, not feuding, they were in a war. They would take personal stabs in the back at each other, when one night, Lesnar took it to far and stole his wife. Dreamer left UWA becuase of the incedint and came here to ECW where Lesnar followed him to complete his goal of ruining Tommy Dreamer. He did
not do a great job tonight as it was Tommy's time to shine.

Iron Man Match
Tommy Dreamer beat Brock Lesnar 7 falls to 4:
x Dreamer beat Lesnar via the Dreamer DDT in 0:07:32
x Lesnar beat Dreamer via the F-5 in 0:17:12

(World Title Match)
Christian (C) vs Shane Douglas:

The leader of the Four Horsemen for weeks has been playing with Christians mind. Christian had held the title for 130 days, and plans to continue to be the champion. Shane Douglas wants to be the man to change it, and he did his best here tonight. In this Falls Count Anywhere Managers Banned from Ringside match, a lot of blood was spilled form both men. At the thirty minute mark, Douglas' hair was dyed red, and you couldn't even see Christian's face through all the blood. Christian executed the Unprettier and Douglas kicked out of it at a very close 2 count. Christian turned around to complain that it was a three and Douglas slapped on a sleeperhold and cut off Christian's oxygen. Nick Patrick asked if Christian submitted, he said no. He asks him again, and another no. Christian was out cold and Patrick raised his hand three times as they fell all three and he called for the bell and Douglas becomes the new ECW World Chanmpion.

This is the first time I ever put a promotion on the internet, and I apoligize for not explaining the storylines at all. New storylines are going to start tomorrow though, so hopefully the confusion will end... if there was any to begin with. Please comment back on how I did, so I know what to do for future shows. Thank you.
Snabbit888Posted on 08/03/05 at 05:51:42

Is this a circuit you've been running for some time and decided to start posting now?  A little bit of history would be nice for us to get a good feel of what you've done.  I'm a big proponent of a circuit celebrating its past (ask 91, I bug him for old DWF stuff all the time).  A fun start though.
twiceaspissed632Posted on 08/03/05 at 07:40:35

This is a promotion that I have been running... for just over a year now. I think it would be necessary for me to start a new topic on the history of my ECW Promotion.
Snabbit888Posted on 08/03/05 at 08:46:39

Then do so... no one's going to give you grief for educating them on your circuit.  I know at least for me, I'll have a far better chance of becoming a consistent reader if I know how we got to where we are.
colmatteusPosted on 08/03/05 at 22:48:36

Why thank you Joey Styles! :)

Seriously, for those who don't know (read: everyone but me) the Briscoes are undefeated in ECW. Another huge win for them here. Gotta love the tag division here, and hopefully everyone around the forums gets to see what I've been priivy to for the past several months. Great lengthy opener.

Dog Collar Table Match, eh? Skoal! I really figured D-Von would come out with the win here after he wrecked Dawn Marie (who had been seeing Bubba behind his back) last week. But the last second pull-out-of-your-ass win works for me. Good rating too.

C'moooon Joe! Aaaah man! My boy didn't even get a fall! Great match and surprising domination by Mysterio and Tajiri! Hope these two get it on later (oh shut up, Jon). And for the record, that's title change #1.

Two of my favorite tag teams in ECDub going at it here. I figure the dastardly Impact Players are gonna get the duke and titles here. And shazzam! I dunno about MotY seeing as the match far-surpassed this one, but a good match with a good length nonetheless. Plus... new champs #2!!

FYI... it wasn't Benoit's fault Triple H got fired. Triple H screwed Triple H. That being said, onward HO! 2/3 Falls in a cage... damn! Actually, you've gotten to using the gimmick matches effectively without overkill. Nice job. I like that Trips lost after picking up the first fall though. Hell, I like that Trips lost.

Make that three straight weeks Hardy's kicked HBK's ass. New champ #3!! This title's been flyin' all over the place lately. But the fans love the title switches, so what do I know? Poor Corino... just can't seem to find a place to win :P

FYI also, Lesnar has been whooping Dreamer's ass from left to right for the past several months. I think this may be Tommy's first win against Lesnar in our little universe here. Good to see it though (although he seems to adore the foreign objects and Dreamer DDTs), as this was the biggest one yet. Wish everyone else could've seen the build so they'd know how big it was like me O:-)

Ooooh baby. See, this is what I've been waiting for! But whoa! Looong match-up... classic early ECW style though. I have to admit, I like the finish of the sleeper though. Rarely seen and people wouldn't have expected it. New champ #4!! But this one I'm kinda stoked about. Although I'm sad to see uber-champ Christian fall, Doyglas is just too badass as the ironic leader of the Horsemen.

Nice first shot, cos! Keep it up!
Snabbit888Posted on 08/03/05 at 23:46:08

Note this feedback will seem brief until I get a better feel for what you've been doing, how the characters have molded under your guidance, etc.

Solid opener.   From reading the feedback here, I see the Briscoes are undefeated, and they had to work to keep that streak going.  I love the "how long will they go undefeated?" angles (hell, I was/am a huge Tatanka mark) so I'll be following them.

Not a huge fan of the Dudleys, so I was a little blah to this match.  Fun little event though.

One thing I didn't like about the card was all four titles changing.  Now I don't know how often you do title changes, but I like to see semi-long to long reigns (I know the way my tag titles jump doesn't show that, but you know what I mean :)).  Still a fantastic match for the X Title, and I like Tajiri, so it was cool to see him pull out the win.

I like the Impact Players a lot, both individually and together, so i can't complain about this result.

Two-out-of-Three cage match is something I probably wouldn't do, but it turned out well here.  Good match with Triple H and Benoit, who never fail to impress.

Matt Hardy keeps making Shawn Michaels his bitch.  I can live with that. :)

Dreamer gets the better of Lesnar, and from what it sounds like, it's about time. :)

Booo to the main event. I mean, great match and all, but I have an utter hatred for Shane Douglas, in TNM or otherwise.  Boo to you. :)

Looking forward to Combat Evolved... your weekly TV show I'm guessing?
twiceaspissed632Posted on 08/04/05 at 00:06:10

I was really shocked that all four of my titles changed hands this card... my titles dont really change that often to be truthful. Last title change was around two months ago... my world title is obviously the most treasured title. Dare I say it AGAIN... Christian held the title for 130 days.
Snabbit888Posted on 08/04/05 at 00:20:25

Unbooked, 130 days isn't bad.  Realistically though, that's only 4 months. :)
Critic of the DawnPosted on 08/04/05 at 00:36:14

;D

Arn Anderson has held the New York State Heavyweight Title for 8 months in an unbooked circuit!  Booya!

...

Then again, I DO only run 2 cards a month.
